Resumo
The technique of ovariohisterectomy by left and right side approach with longitudinal and transversal incision, was practiced in six adult mongrel female dogs. The anesthesias used were the etil (1-metilbutil) - barbiturat sedio in the general anesthesia and to test the epidural anesthesia lidocaina cloridrat. The technique became easier by the use of sand pillow in the opposite side of the abdomen which was incised, but the left side, independently of the incision, was the one which presented better results. The epidural anesthesia allowed the execution of the technique, and the inconvenience of general anesthesia on the dose of 1,0 ml/kg, which is an ideal quantity ofanesthesic in relation to the animal"s weight, was not observed.
Seis cães, SRD, fêmeas foram submetidos à técnica de ovariohisterectomia por acesso lateral esquerdo e direito com incisão longitudinal e tranversal. As anestesias utilizadas foram o etil (1-metilbutil) barbiturato ? de sódio na anestesia geral e para se testar a anestesia epidural o cioridrato de lidocaina 2% sem vaso constrictor. A técnica foi facilitada pelo uso de travesseiro de areia no lado oposto do abdômen incisado, sendo que o lado esquerdo independente do tipo da incisão foi o que proporcionou melhores resultados. A anestesia epidural permitiu a realização da técnica, não se observando os inconvenientes da anestesia geral na dose de 1,0 ml/kg PV, o que nos revelou ser um volume ideal de anestésico em relação ao peso do animal.
