The establishment of the Aedesmosquito in Guyana has raised public health concerns in the ten administrative regions where conditions are suitable for their existence. Recently, studies were conducted in Georgetown to determine the risk of transmission in the city using the Breteau Index tool. This research (unpolished data) has revealed regional epidemicrisks and transmissionrisks in most areas. To contribute in a sustained way the improvement of the entomological surveillance programs, supporting the implementation of a consensual strategy for the monitoring and management of insecticide resistance in the main disease vectors in Guyana.
