RESUMO

Introduction and Objectives: To date, there are no known supplement products made from a combination of eel and tempe. The development of concentrate from eels in combination with tempe (ETF) aims to create supplements containing the essential amino acid L-arginine, which has many proven health benefits. Methods: The community empowerment was held from June to July 2023 at Cangkringan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The main agendas consisted of ETF training production and the cooking creation of ETF-based food. Aside from that, there were several secondary agendas such as food halal socialization, accessories design training, patchwork utilization training, computer and Microsoft Office training, English language education, public speaking class, Al-Qur’an and miscellaneous education for children, community service, mutual cinema, and competitions for the community. Results: The community development program in the production of high-amino acid concentrated ETF flour has succeeded in achieving the three main objectives of the program, namely functional product innovation, empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises and local communities, as well as increasing demand for local commodities, showing the importance of collaboration between the government, community, and private sector in supporting the development of local products that are economically and health-beneficial and can be used as examples to share similar initiatives in other areas.(AU)

Pediatric hospitalization at home (HAH) aims to provide the patient and his family with an alternative to conventional hospitalization, safely and effectively, improving the quality of life of the patient and his family. The most frequent pathologies in HAH in pediatric acute patients are acute respiratory pathology and bacterial infections that require parenteral antibiotic therapy. The success of an acute patient home hospitalization program relies on the proper selection of patients and exhaustive training of caregivers, as well as good communication and coordination between the different services and levels of care involved.(AU)

RESUMO

The growing trend towards individual career management requires understanding the driving forces of career changes. In the current study we explore how personal resources, namely hope, optimism, self-efficacy, and social support are associated with the motivational construct of career empowerment, which in turn predicts employees’ behavioral (OCB, performance appraisal) and attitudinal (job engagement, life satisfaction) outcomes. We conducted a quantitative study in which 251 full- and part-time employees completed paper-and-pencil surveys measuring internal and external resources, and career empowerment. Our results indicate that the research variables are significantly and positively correlated with one another. Mediation analyses with competing models indicate that career empowerment is a partial mediator between personal resources and various outcomes. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.(AU)

This study aims to investigate the effect of coaches' good behavior on players' psychological empowerment and performance in Saudi Arabia. It is seen that the players' performance is affected when they are not correctly cared. The coaches do not train the players with their mindsets and emotions in mind. In domestic-level sports, player performance and psychological empowerment are declining with time. Saudi Arabian football players are surveyed using a Likert scale to acquire the data for this study. A partial least square–structural equation model is employed for data analysis. The study indicated that the influence of coaches' good behavior on psychological empowerment and player performance is substantial. As the newly established links are added to the existing body of literature, the model generated by the current research is novel and a significant contribution to the body of knowledge. The study has important implications for the management and coaches of various teams in their efforts to enhance their players' performance and psychological empowerment. Moreover, the future paths of the present study are outstanding for scholars who wish to extend the model of player performance.(AU)

RESUMO

This is quantitative research employing a cross-sectional research design for data collection. This study's theoretical approach is intended to evaluate the impact of physical exercise on players' emotions and psychological empowerment in Saudi Arabia, with the coach's behavior as a moderator. There are no substantial reasons for this link presented by the studies in the literature. The players with destructive emotions and low psychological empowerment are unsuitable for the team because they hinder its performance. Empowering the players psychologically is essential for team performance. According to the research, athletes' emotions and psychological empowerment improve when they engage in appropriate exercise under the guidance of a committed coach. The research revealed practical consequences that are important for managing various teams to strengthen the players' psychological empowerment and improve their moods. This research improves the theoretical understanding of player emotions and psychological empowerment by introducing two direct linkages and two moderating relationships. The future recommendations of this study are endorsed for researchers contemplating work in the field of psychic empowerment and psychological control of players.(AU)

(AU)

Patient empowerment is one of the main pillars of humanisation. Therefore, consideration of patients’ preferences and expectations should be takeninto account during the practice of any healthcare professional. Improvingoverall survival and quality of life are the main wishes of patients. Indeed, the recent emergence of Patient Reported Outcomes has become animportant focus for healthcare providers. The hospital pharmacist specialised in drug evaluation is a professional who evaluates the efficacy, safety, appropriateness and efficiency of treatments prescribed by physicians, and decision-making must be based on both technical factors and thefour principles of bioethics. The correct application of evidence-based clinical practice allows to provide patients with increases in survival and/orquality of life, adapting the convenience and costs to the current situation. With this in mind, it could be said that the evaluation of medicines involvesa strong commitment to humanisation. On the other hand, organisationsthat promote the rigorous evaluation and selection of medicines standas allies of patients, as they have a direct impact on them and an indirect impact on society. Regulatory agencies in charge of approving andfinancing medicines in healthcare systems play a key role in the processof humanising clinical decision-making and empowering patients. If theseagencies approve the use of new medicines based on data that do notmeasure quality of life or survival of patients when there are already othertherapeutic alternatives for these pathologies, they are indirectly failing tomeet patients’ expectations and are infringing bioethical principles.

Faced with this situation, abuses of dominant positions may arise by large laboratories over vulnerable people regarding testing and access to medicines. This article proposes to reflect and discuss, from theoretical contributions from the ethical field, what some authors have called exploitative contracts in reference to themutually beneficial and voluntary relationship between business actors and vulnerable people. Specifically, and based on various examples, we will analyze whether or not these contracts comply with some fundamental ethical principles.(AU)

RESUMO

The sports industry's performance in any nation relies on the performance of its players. The performance of soccer players in Iraq and the performance of the sports industry are declining. This study aims to examine the relationship between psychological capital, psychological empowerment, and sports anxiety in Iraqi soccer players. This study gathered quantitative data from Iraqi soccer players competing at the local, national, and international levels. This study employs partial least square – structural equation modeling to test its hypotheses. In addition, the purpose of this research is to enhance the performance of the sports industry in Iraq. This study revealed that psychological capital, psychological empowerment, and sports anxiety had a substantial impact on the success of the Iraqi sports business. This study introduced a new framework and substantially contributed to the corpus of knowledge. This study's theoretical and practical ramifications are equally noteworthy for enhancing the performance of the Iraqi sports business. This study's future directions would be useful for exploring future gaps in the literature.(AU)

RESUMO

Power and loneliness are two important research topics in social psychology, yet remaining in separate streams of literature despite the potential relationship. To fill this gap, the present research systematically investigates how, why, and when sense of power affects loneliness. We propose that sense of power decreases loneliness, and that this effect is mediated by perceived social support and moderated by social exclusion. In a set of two studies, the hypotheses received convergent support. Study 1 was a survey study, which showed that sense of power was positively related to perceived social support and negatively correlated with loneliness. Furthermore, Study 2 used an experimental approach to provide causal evidence for the effect of power on loneliness, and to test the moderating role of social exclusion. This research contributes to the psychology literature on power, loneliness, and social exclusion.(AU)

Sexual double standard (SDS) involves evaluating the same sexual behaviors in men and women using different criteria. The support for man-favorable SDS is related to sexual aggression and sexual victimization. Yet to date, studies have not examined the prevalence of SDS adherence. This study aims to identify the prevalence per gender and age of the Spanish population who adheres to the SDS typologies (man-favorable, woman-favorable, egalitarian, ambivalent) by considering sexual freedom and sexual shyness areas. A sample of 2,002 Spanish heterosexual adults (50% men, 50% women), distributed into four age groups (18-25, 26-35, 36-55 and over 55 years old), answered the Sexual Double Standard Scale. The results showed differences in the prevalence of SDS typologies by gender and age. By gender, a higher prevalence of the man-favorable typology was observed in men and a higher prevalence of the egalitarian typology and the woman-favorable typology was observed in women. By age groups, significant differences in man-favorable and woman-favorable typologies were found in both men and women. Based on the evidence of four adherence to SDS typologies, it is recommended studying the relation of these typologies with sexual aggression/victimization to design more efficient programs for prevention and intervention of sexual violence

Catalonia, Spain. Abstract Aim. There is still a problem of adherence in patients undergoing treatment with portable oxygen concentrator (POC). The aim of this study was to know the benefits of a specific empowerment program in adherence and quality of life. Material and methods. Study conducted at the Sant Joan de Déu University Hospital in Manresa (Catalonia). 22 adults patients participated (mean age= 68.7; SD= 5.53; 59% were men, and 86% had a diagnosis of COPD). The program focuses on empowering the patient through knowledge of their breathing and enhancing activities of daily life. A comprehensive evaluation (daily and weekly adherence, dyspnoea, perception of oxygen therapy, quality of life), an educational and training workshop (including respiratory exercises and managing POC in daily life), and a follow-up (which includes a device to monitor adherence) are performed. Results. At the 3-month visit, the patients had a statistically significant better daily adherence (t[21]= -4.83; p= 0.001) with a large effect size (d= -1.03). Weekly adherence also improved (t[21]= - 2.90; p< 0.001) with a moderate effect size (d= -0.61). Empowerment was statistically significant (t[21]= -4.87; p= 0.007) with a large effect size (d= -1.03). A significant correlation was found between improvement in empowerment and daily adherence (F[3]= 7.750; p= 0.031) with a large effect size (2= 0.383); also with perception of oxygen therapy (r= 0.739; p< 0.001). A statistically significant improvement in quality of life was found (t[21]= -7.137; p< 0.001) and in emotional well-being (t[21]= -2.86; p= 0.011) and activities (p= 0.048) with a moderate effect size (r= -0.42) (AU)

E-health using new technologies is a new way to attend our patients and creates a new scenario in the relation between patients and their health carers. Their applications are uncontable and many articles support their efficacy, although some questions still make difficult its implementation. One of the most interesting applications for clinicians is teleconsultation, specially nowadays with COVID pandemic. We review the possible implementation of a tele-consultation program for COPD patients, the right selection of patients, technological tools and its limitations (AU)
