Currently, the development of training programs in socioemo-tional skills in childhood has increased because they are considered as a valid tool for adaptation and coping with a variety of situations, both aca-demic and personal. However, there are few studies that show a compre-hensive view of available evidences. This research presents an umbrella re-view based on PRISMA method guidelines. It includes reviews on socio-emotional development programs applied in Primary Education with the aim of synthesizing their characteristics and compiling the main results on their effectiveness. The following databases were used: ERIC, WOS, PSYCINFO, SCOPUS and COCHRANE. After a blind peer process, 15 reviews that met the inclusion criteria were selected and analysed. Using the AMSTAR-2 and SANRA tools, it was found that 60% of secondary studies have critically low or low quality. Thirty nine programs reported in good quality reviews were identified, 51.2% presented moderate or strong evidence and reported significant effectsmainly on behavioral adjustment, social and emotional competencies and academic skills. The impact of the methodological quality found and the evidences on the interpretation and generalization of the findings is discussed.(AU)

RESUMO

This article presents the findings of a study comparing a computer-assisted teaching program to traditional instructor-led teaching for elementary school children. The study evaluated reading and writing skills and employed a group design. Results showed that both teaching approaches were effective in improving reading performance, with slightly better gains in the instructor-led version. Both conditions facilitated learning transfer to new words with spelling difficulties, although the computer-assisted condition demonstrated higher generalization in final tests. Motivational and attentional factors, easily addressed by instructors but challenging in computer programs, were highlighted. The instructor-led condition's personalized feedback and differential consequences potentially contributed to the observed differences in learning gains. Individual differences in learners' input and performance were emphasized, suggesting the need for program adaptations. The advantages of computer-assisted teaching, such as scalability and individualized pacing, were discussed, along with the need for further refinements and automation. Strategies for enhancing teaching sequence flexibility and reducing the instructor's decision-making burden were proposed. The study contributes valuable insights into computer-assisted reading instructions for children with spelling difficulties, emphasizing their benefits and areas for improvement. The research underscores the importance of designing effective technology-mediated interventions and provides guidance for future developments in this field. (AU)

RESUMO

The fundamental focus of national spiritual civilization creation has been the effects of college physical instruction. The contemporary teaching methods exhibit greater flexibility, leading to a lack of reasonable assessment of physical education quality. To tackle this issue, we suggest implementing a technique that utilizes a recurrent neural network (RNN) to assess the standard of IPE. Additionally, we want to develop an automated assessment system specifically designed for this purpose. We gathered a dataset (Student satisfaction, course size, classroom feedback, teacher efficacy and course research). The study employs Min-Max normalization to eliminate redundant elements and ensure uniformity and principal component analysis (PCA) is used to discover relevant properties using already processed data. We simulate trials with Python 3.11 software to assess the efficiency of the suggested algorithm. A simulation environment was constructed to test the proposed approach, yielding notable performance metrics,Accuracy (95.68%), Precision (94.52%), Recall (86.59%) and F1-Score (88.56%). Comparative analysis demonstrates the efficacy of the suggested strategy, addressing limitations related to data availability and network complexities. Future efforts seek to improve RNN structures for various instructional materials, increase the clarity of assessments for better understanding and utilize large statistics to strengthen the model's resilience, resulting in a comprehensive manner supported by evidence based acceptance of the impact of IPE (AU)

Objective:To analyse the impact of 10 years of blended echocardiography teaching. Methods and results: A questionnaire was emailed to all medical doctors who graduated from the blended learning diploma in echocardiography developed by the University of Chile and taught by a team from Chile and Spain. One hundred and forty of the 210 students who graduated from the program between 2011 and 2020 completed the questionnaire: 53.57% were anaesthesiologists, and 26.42% were intensivists. More than 85% of respondents indicated that the online teaching met their expectations, and 70.2% indicated that the hands-on practice fulfilled the stated objectives. In a retrospective analysis using self-reported data, graduates reported that their use of transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography has increased from 24.29% to 40.71% and from 13.57% to 27.86%, repectively, after the programme compared to before the programme. They used echocardiography mainly in the perioperative period (56.7%) and during intensive care (32.3%), while only 11% of respondents used it in emergency care units. Nearly all (92.4%) respondents reported that the skills learned was very useful in their professional practice. Conclusions: Ten years after its launch, the blended learning diploma in echocardiography was well rated by graduate specialists, and is associated with a significant increase in the use of echocardiography in the perioperative period and during intensive care. The main challenges are to establish a longer period of practice and achieve greater implantation in emergency medicine.(AU)

RESUMO

The primary objective of this study was to examine the mediating effect of resilience in the relationship between GRIT personality and academic engagement among undergraduate students majoring in physical education. A study was conducted using a non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational-cause design. The study included a total of 1164 Mexican students, with an average age of 21.21 years (standard deviation = 3.26). The sample consisted of 30.0% female participants, 69.6% male participants, and 0.4% participants who identified as others. The researchers utilised the GRIT personality, resilience, and academic engagement scales in their study and performed a structural equation analysis incorporating latent variables. The findings derived from the structural equation model indicate a positive association between perseverance of effort and both behavioural and emotional academic engagement, while also revealing a negative correlation between perseverance of effort and behavioural disaffection. Moreover, the presence of resilience in students is associated with a notable increase in their behavioural and emotional involvement, while concurrently leading to a decrease in emotional disengagement. The phenomenon of interest consistency has been found to have predictive value for both emotional and behavioural disaffection.(AU)

RESUMO

The aim was to analyze the possible effects of the application of the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) pedagogical model on three variables: 2x2 Achievement goal orientation, Perception of success and Personal and social responsibility. We proceeded with a quasi-experimental design with three repeated measures: pre-implementation, post-implementation and follow-up measure, and the presence of an experimental group and a non-equivalent control group. The implementation was carried out in a Physical Education context. A total of 265 students (53% boys) aged between 8 and 12 years old. Two statistical techniques were conducted, using repeated measures ANOVA and ANCOVA. The results allow us to conclude that the implementation of TPSR is able to increase the Social Responsibility dimension, with a small effect size. The data do not allow us to conclude robust changes in the rest of the variables and dimensions studied (AU)

Culture is inescapable in education, incorporating cross-cultural dialogue and serving as the foundation of Chinese foreign education (CIE). This study aims to investigate, from the standpoint of intercultural communication, the impact of sports on the development of a positive psychological climate in CIE. The study employed quantitative and qualitative methods, collected data through tests, classroom observation, and interviews, and conducted a quasi-experimental comparison of the experimental group learning CIE and culture curriculum and the control group learning traditional language skills curriculum. This study determined that the experimental group's cross-cultural attitude improved more rapidly after the systematic study of cultural courses, which plays a more significant influence in fostering a positive psychological climate in CIE. In addition, the study indicated that culture is transmitted through language and that cultural elements play an essential role in language acquisition. In addition, most learners of a second language originate from nations and areas with different cultural backgrounds than the target language. Comparing one's culture with students and determining the most effective cross-cultural communication strategies are essential for teaching.(AU)

Introduction: It is necessary to adapt didactic techniques that favor the achievement of skills in a virtual, synchronous or asynchronous way, in anticipation of socially complex contingent situations that make it difficult to attend, as has been the current COVID-19 pandemic. Objective: To identify the perception of student satisfaction regarding the use of Team-Based Learning (TBL) as an active and participatory methodology in emergency remote teaching and its relationship with academic performance in students of the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción (UCSC) Medical Technology major. Subjects and methods: A pedagogical intervention was carried out in the Human Physiology course of the UCSC School of Medicine, in which the TBL was used as a method of supporting the learning of contents delivered in synchronous online classes in two theoretical units: renal and digestive. The collection of data on the perception of satisfaction was carried out through a self-developed survey. The grades were obtained from the academic record of the course. A descriptive-correlational statistical analysis was performed. Results: Acceptable internal consistency of the various items of the perception of satisfaction scale was found. Better perception was reported for the items of methodology and self-regulation of learning, with a greater positive correlation for those students with better academic performance. Conclusions: The TBL as a didactic technique to favor interaction and learning in traditional contexts, seems likely to maintain this characteristic that favors interaction and learning, when it is adapted to socially complex conditions such as the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.(AU)

RESUMO

This research aims to fill the need to provide writing education to preservice teachers by using web-based instruction. The novel contribution of this work lies in the consideration of beliefs as a methodological prerequisite when measuring the effects of a web-based program. For this purpose, latent profile analysis was conducted to explore unique profiles of preservice teachers’ beliefs about writing before the web-based instruction. Participants were classified into three profiles: eclectic profile (n = 129), socio-cultural profile (n = 85), and person-environment profile (n = 105). Linear mixed-effects models were employed to assess if belief profiles experienced changes in beliefs and knowledge after the training. Results showed that belief profiles differed from each other in the degree of attribution of the different beliefs but remarkably all of them experienced significant differences in content knowledge acquisition. Finally, educational implications for preservice teachers’ education are highlighted.(AU)
