Creativity is becoming one necessary human skill in a world where robots increasingly outperform people in daily routines. In order to efficiently develop creativity as a research field, scholars need to know where they are.We employed a bibliometric approach to study themes and characteristics of creativity research in Spain. The results indicated that publication production in the field has been growing during the last dec-ades. Compared to psychology, creativity in the social sciences seemed to be an undercited, local, and endogamic area. For social sciences, motor themes in the last decade were a) creativity in children and students in the educational environment, b) innovation and knowledge creation in a work-ing environment, and c) cities and creativity. The motor themes in psy-chology were a) individual characteristics for generating insights (e.g., skills, improvisation, executive functions) and b) emotional intelligence. We sug-gest some themes for future research, such as creative collaboration in vir-tual environments, value co-creation, and how machines can help humans boost their creativity.(AU)

Introduction: The establishment of the Spanish AIDS Research Network (RIS) was a milestone for the promotion of HIV research in Spain. We analyse Spanish HIV research, assessing the role that RIS has played in it. Methods: We identified publications on HIV-aids with the participation of Spanish institutions in the Web of Science over the period 2010-2019, characterising research activity by means of bibliometrics and identifying the thematic areas of research through a cluster analysis. Results: A total of 3960 documents have been identified (average of 396 documents/year), 42% of which have been signed in international collaboration. RIS researchers have participated in 60% of the documents, presenting a scientific production and citation significantly higher than authors not linked to the RIS. Five thematic clusters articulate the research, focusing on the clinical and therapeutic approach to people living with HIV, co-infection and co-morbidity with other diseases, the genetic characterisation of the virus, the development of vaccines and the study of its transmission in specific groups or associated with sexual behaviour. Conclusion: Spanish HIV research, largely driven by RIS groups, has reached a stage of maturity, with a notable increase in scientific production, participation in international cooperative networks and an outstanding impact and visibility.(AU)

Introduction Assessment of scientific bibliographic production is a complex issue, mainly based on the impact factor (IF) of the journals and the h index, that quantifies the number of cites an author receives. In order to estimate the bibliographic production and the influence of co-authorship among Spanish neurosurgeons, we performed a PubMed search aimed to identify all papers published by a sample of neurosurgeons. Material and methods Cross-sectional observational and regional study. We identified a sample of 183 neurosurgeons from Madrid and Castilla y León Autonomous Communities. The bibliometric information was gathered in March 2022 via PubMed free access website. For each author we registered the type of journal, total number of articles, order of appearance in the authors’ list, total IF, the proportion of articles signed as first or second author (personal authorship quotient [PAQ]) and the percentage of IF attributable to those articles (personal impact quotient [PIQ]). Results A total of 3592 articles from 183 authors were published in 412 different journals, of which only 9.9% were pure neurosurgical journals. Only 17 neurosurgeons (9.3%) had published at least one article as unique author. The average number of articles per neurosurgeon was 20 (median 9) of which 57.7% were published in neurosurgical journals, and 22.2% in Neurocirugía (official publication of the SENEC) (AU)

Background: Allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (ARC) is a common chronic inflammatory disease. Numerous studies on the treatment of ARC have been published. By contrast, there are few bibliometric studies on immunotherapy for ARC. The purpose of this article is to describe the current treatments for ARC and to identify the trends in immunotherapy for ARC. Methods: Publications were searched from the Web of Science (WOS) Core Collection on April 25, 2022. CiteSpace and Microsoft Excel software were used for further bibliometric analysis. Results: A total of 969 publications on immunotherapy for ARC in English were retrieved. The number of relevant publications has been continuously increasing over the past 20 years, with many of the publications coming from Germany and the United States of America. In terms of institutions, the ALK Company in Denmark, Imperial College London in United Kingdom, and Charite–Universitatsmedizin Berlin in Germany published the most articles on immunotherapy for ARC. Meanwhile, Allergy and Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology published the most number of studies, and Oliver Pfaar from Germany authored the most number of articles. “Subcutaneous immunotherapy,” “international consensus,” “allergen immunotherapy,” and “recommendation” were the most popular subjects. Thus, directions in research can be predicted as studies regarding mechanisms of ARC, clinical trials, and extracts have reported high-quality results. Conclusion: Over the past 20 years, the overall quality of research on immunotherapy for ARC has gradually improved, allowing the introduction of specific and targeted treatment. Currently, the main focus of ARC research is the novel routes of drug delivery and combined treatment with biological agents (AU)

Addictive disorders are a serious health problem to which large amounts of research resources are devoted. This study aims to analyze the evolution and scientific impact of the publications derived from the funding of research projects by the Spanish National Plan on Drugs (PNSD). The list of grants awarded was provided by the PNSD. Derived publications were obtained by asking the principal investigators of the grants and searching in the Web of Science and Scopus. Bibliometric indicators and evolutive trends of scientific production per project were calculated. On average, the PNSD conferred 15 annual grants to research projects, with an annual amount close to one million euros (€944,200.64) and an average amount per grant of just over €60,000, being higher in basic research and in alcohol. 71,9% of the grants had derived publications and almost half of them produced between one and three publications, with basic research being the most prolific. The international journal in which most articles were published was Psychopharmacology (50) and among Spanish journals, Adicciones stood out (28). A high level of co-authorship and international collaboration was identified. Most of the PNSD-funded projects produced research articles, many of them in journals belonging to the first and second quartiles of the Journal Citation Reports. The results of this study have revealed the scientific impact of the PNSD research projects funding and may contribute to determining future funding priorities. (AU)
