RESUMO
The views of doctors, nurses and non-medical personnel on abortion law reform in Trinidad have been elicited by questinnaire. There were 246 respondents. It is advocated that therapeutic abortion should be made lawful provided it is performed in good faith during the first trimester in a hospital setting, either in the interest of the mental health of the mother, or rape or because of risk of foetal abnormality. Socio-economic status, failed contraception and impaired maternal physical health were not considered strong indications for termination. (AU)
