RESUMO
In protein malnutrition there is depletion of body protein. We need to know if possible, the extent of this depletion in order to be able to judge the severity of the process. A further difficulty is that protein loss is not uniform, but involves some organs more than others. Observations of various kinds will be presented, bearing on this problem : 1) Composition of the whole body 2) Composition of organs 3) Indirect measurements of muscle and fat (AU)
