RESUMO
Telemedicine is an unexplored practice that has received advocacy due to technological advancement and social distancing regulations imposed due to Covid-19. According to the W.H.O1 50% of its member states have implemented a national telemedicine policy, stimulating the question "Why hasn't Trinidad and Tobago introduced a structured and stable telemedical service?" To investigate this, we target experienced physicians to understand the benefits and limitations of adapting telemedical technology into the current medical model. Utilization of Telemedicine in developing countries, like Trinidad and Tobago, is very promising as it can improve healthcare accessibility and elevate the quality of care for potential patients in rural areas

Healthcare delivery and management have been revolutionised throughout the world because of the advent of modern computers and their coupling with diagnostic and treatment equipment. In the past, the impact of information technology was restricted to laboratory services and thought to be a good way of improving the general administration of hospitals, including the mechanisation of medical records and other aspects of patient administration. In some hospitals it has been possible for laboratories to send patients' results electronically to ward-based terminals. Telemedicine is the electronic transfer of medical data from one location to another. Applications include patient consultations, continuing medical education, interactive psychiatric and medical interviews, and the transmission of medical records or radiology images. Telemedicine is the medical answer to the fast-developing information technology that is sweeping through many walks of modern life(AU)
