RESUMO

Szacuje się, że obecnie 1,3 miliarda ludzi – czyli 16% światowej populacji – doświadcza znacznej niepełnosprawności. Osoby z niepełnosprawnościami mają prawo do najwyższego osiągalnego standard zdrowia, tak jak osoby sprawne. Jednakże Globalny raport WHO na temat równości w zdrowiu osób z niepełnosprawnościami pokazuje, że chociaż w ostatnich latach poczyniono pewne postępy, świat pozostaje daleki od realizacji tego prawa dla wielu osób z niepełnosprawnościami, które w dalszym ciągu umierają wcześniej, mają gorszy stan zdrowia i doświadczają większej ilości ograniczeń w codziennym funkcjonowaniu niż inni. Te złe wyniki zdrowotne wynikają z niesprawiedliwych warunków, jakich doświadczają osoby z niepełnosprawnościami we wszystkich aspektach życia, w tym w samym systemie opieki zdrowotnej. Na mocy międzynarodowego prawa w ramach praw człowieka, państwa zobowiązane są stawić czoła nierównościom w zdrowiu, z którymi borykają się osoby z niepełnosprawnościami

RESUMO

This publication describes the results of the Model Disability Survey conducted in Georgia in 2022, on a sampleof 2298 adults and 705 children. The survey provided information on the health status, prevalence, distributionand degree of disability, well-being, capacity, environmental barriers and facilitators, and met and unmet needsfor assistive technology and health-care services for the population in Georgia. Results of the survey suggestedthe need for actions targeting women and elderly people and improving the economic situation of persons withdisabilities, as well as improving access to appropriate health-care and assistive products.

La Revue de Santé de la Méditerranée Orientale est une revue de santé officielle publiée par le Bureau régional de l’Organisation mondiale de la Santé pour la Méditerranée orientale. Elle offre une tribune pour la présentation et la promotion de nouvelles politiques et initiatives dans le domaine de la santé publique et des services de santé ainsi qu’à l’échange d’idées de concepts de données épidémiologiques de résultats de recherches et d’autres informations se rapportant plus particulièrement à la Région de la Méditerranée orientale. Elle s’adresse à tous les professionnels de la santé aux membres des instituts médicaux et autres instituts de formation médico-sanitaire aux ONG Centres collaborateurs de l’OMS et personnes concernés au sein et hors de la Région

The WHO Disability-Inclusive Health Services Training Package is a companion to the “WHO Disability-Inclusive Health Services Toolkit: A resource for health facilities in the Western Pacific Region” published by WHO in 2020. This package offers a range of additional training materials including presentations, workbooks and videos that will allow users to develop the foundational skills and understanding of the Toolkit for its implementation. Together the Toolkit and Training Package will help ensure equitable access to health services, best-quality outcomes and improved quality of life for all people with disabilities to achieve universal health coverage.
