Acciones extracurriculares para una cultura medioambientalista en estudiantes de ciencias médicas / Extracurricular actions for an environmentalist culture in the students of the medical sciences

RESUMEN

Fundamento se hace necesario desarrollar una cultura medioambientalista que permita enfrentar con éxito las nuevas situaciones de degradación del medio; de ahí la importancia de la labor educativa en la formación de una conducta más responsable, en este sentido, en las nuevas generaciones. Objetivo: elaborar acciones extracurriculares para desarrollar una cultura medioambientalista en los estudiantes de las ciencias médicas. Métodos: se realizó una investigación descriptiva con enfoque cualitativo durante el curso escolar 2010-2011 en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara. Se aplicaron métodos del nivel teórico el análisis-síntesis y la inducción-deducción, los cuales permitieron conocer la generalidad de la problemática estudiada y la manera en que se trata el tema en el proceso docente educativo; del nivel empírico el análisis documental en la revisión del programa de la disciplina Preparación para la Defensa, y la encuesta, en su forma de cuestionario a estudiantes para diagnosticar el conocimiento que tienen acerca de la cultura medioambientalista. Resultados: en el referido programa el tema está tratado de forma adecuada, pero se diagnosticaron carencias en la cultura medioambientalista en los estudiantes, ya que muestran escasos conocimientos sobre la problemática en su entorno, no reflejan sentirse involucrados directamente en su solución, por lo cual se propusieron acciones extracurriculares para su desarrollo. Conclusiones: la propuesta fue valorada por los especialistas consultados como pertinente y factible de ejecutar.

ABSTRACT

Background: it becomes necessary to develop an environmentalist culture that allows facing with success the new situations of degradation of the environment; such is the importance of the educational work in the formation of a more responsible behavior, in this sense, in the new generations. Objective: to elaborate extracurricular actions to develop an environmentalist culture in the students of the medical sciences. Methods: it was carried out a descriptive research work with a qualitative approach during the school course 2010-2011 in the University of Medical Sciences of Villa Clara. Methods of the theoretical level were applied the analysis-synthesis and the induction-deduction, which allowed to know the generality of the studied problem and the way in which the topic is treated in the teaching-educational process; of the empiric level the documental analysis in the revision of the program of the discipline Preparation for the Defense, and the survey, in questionnaire form was applied to the students to diagnose the knowledge they have about an environmental culture. Results: in the above mentioned program the topic has been appropriately treated, but deficiencies were diagnosed in the environmental culture of the students, since they show scarce knowledge on environmental problems, they don't reflect to be involved directly in their solution, a great reason why they intended extracurricular actions for their development. Conclusions: the proposal was valued as pertinent and feasible of executing by the specialists consulted.
