ABSTRACT
This work analyses Frida Kahlo's creative process, particularly the one that took place as an aftermath of the tragic experiences the Mexican painter went through. Born in 1907 and deceased in 1954, Frida Kahlo was engaged in a tumultuous relationship with artist Diego Rivera. It is well known that this union had a tremendous impact on her, not only as a woman but also as an artist. Our focus will be to question the painter's intimate world in liaison with her creative process, in light of the fatality that took place in 1932, which resulted in the production of the dramatic painting "Henry Ford Hospital". This painting was groundbreaking in terms of how it dealt with the issue of miscarriage through art, as well as it offered a moving representation of the body.
