These examples reinforce the message relating to the importance of planning and prior knowledge, communication and strategic approach the different cultures and langueages that are in a community. This sentiment is reinforced in a newly published document titled "Guidelines for Emergency Managers working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities". The guidelines were written in an inclusive manner, with diverse representation given input and a consultive process of development. They signify the continuing development of strategies for emergency managres to ensure the well being of all members of our communities. The guidelines can be obtained in hard copy form Emergency Management Australia, or electronically form EMA's web site http//www.ema.gov.au. (AU)
