BACKGROUND: The aim of this research was to analyse the current literature on displaced dental implants in the mandibular body, including local and systemic variables related to their cause, and to identify the most frequent location. METHODS: The study conducted a search of three databases (Pubmed, Scopus, and Web of Science) using specific index terms such as 'dental implant', 'displacement', 'dislocation', 'displaced', and 'mandible'. The analysis focused on the direction of displacement and the characteristics of the bone tissue (bone quality, density, and quantity) in cases where dental implants were displaced. RESULTS: A total of 371 articles were obtained. Thirteen of these articles were selected and read in full. To define bone quality, the Lekholm and Zarb classification, modified by Rosas et al., was used. The type II-B bone, which is characterized by thick cortical bone surrounding cancellous bone with extremely wide medullary spaces, presented the largest number of complications. Twenty-two cases were found in which the displacement direction was horizontal. Of these, four were displaced vestibularly, fourteen lingually, and four remained in the center. Additionally, 24 cases presented vertical displacement, with 12 displaced towards the inferior border of the mandible, 9 towards the middle or adjacent to the inferior dental nerve canal, and 3 above the inferior dental nerve canal. CONCLUSION: The accidental displacement of implants within the mandibular body is associated with various risk factors, including the characteristics of the bony trabeculum and the size of the medullary spaces. It is reasonable to suggest that only an adequate pre-surgical diagnostic evaluation, with the help of high-resolution tomographic images that allow a previous evaluation of these structures, will help to have better control over the other factors, thus minimizing the risk of displacement.

OBJECTIVE: To review the historical and current periodontal phenotype classifications evaluating methods and characteristics. Moreover, to identify and classify the methods based on periodontal phenotype components. OVERVIEW: Several gingival morphology studies have been frequently associated with different terms used causing confusion among the readers. In 2017, the World Workshop on the Classification of Periodontal and Peri-Implant Diseases and Conditions recommended to adopt the term "periodontal phenotype". This term comprises two terms, gingival phenotype (gingival thickness and keratinized tissue width) and bone morphotype (buccal bone plate thickness). Furthermore, gingival morphology has been categorized on "thin-scalloped", "thick-scalloped" and "thick-flat" considering the periodontal biotype. However, by definition, the term phenotype is preferred over biotype. Periodontal phenotype can be evaluated through clinical or radiographic assessments and may be divided into invasive/non-invasive (for gingival thickness), static/functional (for keratinized tissue width), and bi/tridimensional (for buccal bone plate thickness) methods. CONCLUSIONS: "Thin-scalloped," "thick-scalloped," and "thick-flat" periodontal biotypes were identified. These three periodontal biotypes have been considered in the World Workshop but the term periodontal phenotype is recommended. Periodontal phenotype is the combination of the gingival phenotype and the bone morphotype. There are specific methods for periodontal phenotype evaluation. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The term periodontal phenotype is currently recommended for future investigations about gingival phenotype and bone morphotype. "Thin-scalloped," "thick-scalloped," and "thick-flat" periodontal phenotypes can be evaluated through specific methods for gingival thickness, keratinized tissue width, and buccal bone plate thickness evaluation.

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: After implant rehabilitation, clinicians may need to remove a restoration because of technical and biological complications. For cement-retained implant-supported prostheses (ISPs), the retrievability process may damage the components of the prosthesis, the intaglio surface of the implant, or the abutment screw. To avoid that, the screw access hole (SAH) of the dental implant abutment (DIA) should be registered. Although several clinical reports and dental techniques have been proposed, a review of existing techniques is lacking. PURPOSE: The purpose of this scoping review was to evaluate the different techniques described for retrievability and for registering the SAH of cement-retained ISPs. MATERIAL AND METHODS: An electronic search of English language dental literature in the PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and SciELO databases was conducted from 1980 to December 2017 with appropriate keywords and phrases. A hand search of relevant dental journals was also completed, and exclusion criteria were applied after full-text evaluation. RESULTS: The electronic and hand search revealed 325 articles. However, 252 publications were discarded after duplicates were removed. After reading the title and abstracts, 15 studies were excluded, and the full text of 64 publications was screened for inclusion and exclusion criteria. Forty studies were selected and included for final evaluation. The evaluation revealed 6 techniques for retrievability and 9 techniques for registering the position of the SAH, divided into 2-dimensional (2D) and 3-dimensional (3D) techniques. CONCLUSIONS: Cement-retained ISPs can be effectively retrieved by using interim cements and possibly by using a combined cement- and screw-retained design. Vacuum guides with guiding sleeves and computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) guide templates are possible effective 3D techniques for registering the screw access channel (SAC) location and angulation.

PURPOSE: To compare the buccal alveolar bone thickness of mesioangulated mandibular impacted third molars (MITM) with buccal versus lingual inclination using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). METHODS: This retrospective cross-sectional study evaluated 69 individuals (39 women and 30 men) who presented a total of 101 mesioangulated MITM according to the Winter classification and in B position according to the Pell and Gregory classification. The average age was 22.99 ± 3.94 years. The superior, medial and inferior alveolar thickness regarding buccal (n = 44) or lingual (n = 57) mandibular third molar inclination were measured. T test or Mann-Whitney U test and finally, a multiple linear regression were applied (p < 0.05). RESULTS: The buccal alveolar bone thickness of mesioangulated mandibular impacted third molars was significantly greater in the group with lingual inclination compared to the group with buccal inclination, in the superior region (6.21 ± 3.27 vs. 4.85 ± 3.06; p = 0.036). The lingual inclination significantly influenced the buccal alveolar bone thickness in the middle region (p = 0.011). CONCLUSIONS: The mesioangulated MITM in B position with lingual inclination have a greater thickness of the superior and medial buccal alveolar bone than the MITM with buccal inclination. These results should be considered during MITM diagnosis and surgical planning.

PURPOSE: The present study aims to compare mandibular third molar position in relation to the mandibular ramus, mandibular third molar angulation, potential impaction and nerve involvement in orthodontic treated versus untreated subjects. METHODS: The sample consisted of 300 panoramic radiographs 119 males (mean age 16.9 years); 181 females (mean age 16.8 years), contrasting an orthodontically treated (n = 150) to an untreated group (n = 150). Only patients with a full mandibular dentition were included. Pell and Gregory (Dent Digest 39: 330-338, 1933), Winter (Principles of exodontia as applied to the impacted third molars, 1926) and Félez-Gutierrez modified by Gomes (Study of nerve lesion following mandibular third molar surgery, 2011) classifications were used. Radiological information was used to predict eruption. Data was analyzed using frequency analysis and Chi-square testing. RESULTS: 220 lower wisdom teeth (73.3%) were impacted in the treated group, opposed to 236 impacted lower wisdom teeth (78.7%) in the untreated group. A close relation with the mandibular nerve was observed 125 times (41.7%) in the treated group, opposed to an incidence of 112 (37.3%) in the untreated group. The differences were not statistically significant. A partial eruption was predicted for 153 (51%) lower wisdom teeth in the treated group, opposed to 106 (35%) in the untreated group and an impossible eruption in 67 (22%) in the treated group, opposed to 130 (43%). These differences were statistically significant (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The significant outcomes indicate that orthodontically treated patients may develop a higher likeliness to partially erupted third molars, which potentially leads to local clinical morbidities, such as pericoronitis and caries on adjacent teeth. In this context, it may support third molar extractions at an earlier stage in particular cases.

OBJECTIVES: The primary objective of the study was to compare the postoperative complications following surgical removal of impacted third molars using panoramic radiography (PAN) images- and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT)-based surgeries for "moderate-risk" cases of impacted third mandibular molars. The secondary objective was to compare the reliability of CBCT with that of PAN in preoperative radiographic determination of the position of the third molar, number of roots, and apical divergence. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A randomized controlled multicenter trial was conducted to compare the surgical complications of PAN- and CBCT-based surgeries of impacted third molars. The sample consisted of impacted third molars from 256 patients with a close relation to the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN). Exclusion criteria were "no risk" and "high risk" of damage to the IAN based on the assessment of the panoramic radiograph. Patients were divided into two groups: the CBCT group (n = 126) and the PAN group (n = 130). The incidences of IAN sensory disturbance and other postoperative complications were recorded for each group at 7 days after surgery. Statistical analysis (kappa values) was used to compare the diagnoses of five trained dentomaxillofacial radiologists and to relate radiologic diagnoses to perioperative findings. Logistic regression was used to determine whether the imaging modality influenced occurrence of postoperative complications. RESULTS: Two extractions (1.5%) in the CBCT group and five (3.8%) in the PAN group resulted in IAN sensory disturbance (p = 0.45). Logistic regression models did not show that CBCT modality decreased postoperative complications following surgical removal of impacted third molars. Yet, CBCT revealed the number of roots and apical divergence of the roots more reliably than panoramic radiographs. CONCLUSIONS: CBCT was not better than panoramic radiography in predicting postoperative complications for moderate-risk cases of impacted third mandibular molars. Nonetheless, a CBCT buccolingual view can accurately confirm the number of roots and root morphology of the third molar better than PAN. CLINICAL RELEVANCE: For management of postoperative complications for moderate-risk cases of impacted mandibular third molars, careful preoperative radiographic planning followed by an atraumatic surgical approach seems to be valuable, irrespective of the 2D or 3D nature of the preoperative images.

OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to assess association of the -1082 IL-10 gene polymorphism with chronic periodontitis CP in a Peruvian population. STUDY DESIGN: Samples of venous blood and DNA were obtained from 106 Peruvian subjects: a) 53 periodontally healthy; and b) 53 with CP. The association of the -1082 IL-10 promoter sequences was assessed by Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). Student's t test were used to assess the clinical parameters, as well as the χ2 test and the odds ratio (OR), with 95% confidence intervals (CI) used performed for estimates regarding genotype and allele frequencies. RESULTS: There were statistically significant differences between groups regarding the mean bleeding on probing, mean attachment level and mean probing depth (p < 0.00001) indicating that the matching based on the evaluated groups was adequate. The χ2 test found a statistically significant imbalance of genotypes between groups (p = 0.0172). The prevalence of CP was significantly higher in subjects harboring at least one A allele at position -1082 (AA and GA genotypes) in comparison to patients with the GG genotype (OR = 2.96; CI: 0.52; 5.41; p = 0.0099). Equally, subjects with the AA genotype were significantly associated to a diagnosis of CP (OR = 2.71; CI: 0.38; 5.04; p = 0.0231). On the other hand, subjects presenting a healthy periodontal status presented at least one G allele in comparison with the AA genotype (OR = 0.37; CI: 0.05, 0.69; p = 0.0231). For subjects with the GG genotype, the same positive association was observed (OR = 0.34; CI: 0.06, 0.62; p = 0.0099). There were no significant differences between groups amongst subjects with the GA genotype (OR = 1.19; CI: 0.22, 2.16; p = 0.6774). CONCLUSIONS: Within the limits of this study, IL-10 gene polymorphism at position -1082 does not appear to be associated to CP. Conversely, subjects with AA genotype seem to be at an increased risk of developing CP.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the sexual dimorphism of maxillary sinuses (MS) using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Method: A total of 80 CBCT scans were taken from Peruvian patients aged between 20 and 70 years-old. The dimensions (length, width, and height) of the MS were measured and evaluated. The data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test with a significance level of p < 0.05. Results: The left MS was wider than the right MS. Meanwhile, the right MS was longer than the left MS. In addition, the height of the right and left MS was significantly different in males and females, with p-value of 0.003 and 0.044 respectively. Bigger dimension of height of the MS was found in patients aged between 30 and 39 as well as patients aged between 40 and 49, whereas smaller dimension of height of the MS was found in patients aged between 60 and 70. Furthermore, the height of the right MS was significantly different in dentate and edentulous patients, with p-value of 0.033 and 0.043 respectively. The height of the right MS was predicted at 65 % in males and 70 % in females (p = 0.002). Conclusion: The morphometry of the maxillary sinuses can be used for predicting sexual dimorphism.

Aim: This narrative review aimed at identifying the existing scientific literature investigating periodontitis and neuropathic diseases. Materials and Methods: A search of the literature published between 2000 and 2022 was carried out in the electronic databases of Scopus and PubMed. Studies in which the eligible articles were mainly published in English were included. Descriptive correlational studies, case-control studies, comparative studies, and cohort studies were also included. The following main keywords were used: "Neuropathic diseases," "Periodontitis," "Alzheimer's disease," and "Porphyromonas gingivalis." Results: This narrative review found that cognitively impaired persons with severe periodontitis had a higher prevalence and incidence of periodontal diseases than the rest of the population. A significant positive correlation of salivary interleukin (IL)-1beta and immediate recall scores involved in cognition was also evident. It indicates that the most investigated parameter was whether there is any common link between periodontal disease and neurodegeneration. No randomized controlled clinical studies were found in the current literature review. Conclusions: Based on the literature reviewed, there is currently no strong scientific evidence to support or discourage the cause-effect relationship of periodontal diseases and neurodegenerative diseases.

Objective: To perform a bibliometric analysis of the scientific production related to intestinal microbiota and bariatric surgery between January 2016 and December 2022. Materials and Methods: A bibliographic search was performed in the Scopus database to identify published papers. Free and controlled terms (MeSH and Emtree) were used. The information collected was analyzed with SciVal. Results: A total of 518 published papers were included in the analysis. Carel Le Roux was the author with the highest scientific production; however, Edi Prifti had the highest impact. French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale) was the institution with the highest number of published articles. Six of the 10 institutions with the highest production were in France, yet the United States had the highest volume of scientific production in this research topic. Most papers were published in first quartile journals. Articles with international collaboration had the highest impact. There is a sustained increase in the number of publications since 2019. Conclusions: The study found that the vast majority of research on gut microbiota changes following bariatric surgery are conducted in the United States and European countries. In addition, the sustained increase in production coupled with the articles being published in high-quality journals and having good citation impact are indictors of the current interest in this research field.

Aims and Objectives: The aim of this study was to describe the mechanism of dental implants osseointegration in patients with congenital and degenerative genetic bone disorders. Materials and Methods: A PubMed and Scopus documents search was carried out between November 2021 in the, using words such as "osseointegration," "degenerative disease," "congenital disease," and "dental implants." Results: The thirteen articles selected dealt with dental implants osseointegration in patients with congenital and degenerative bone disorders. The influence and repercussion of these diseases on the bone system, as well as the osseointegration process were described from healing to bone remodeling. In addition, certain articles described some considerations to improve the osseointegration process in patients suffering from these types of conditions. Conclusions: Within the limitations of this literature review we can conclude that osseointegration in patients with ectodermal dysplasia and osteoporosis could be achieved. However, the planning process for dental implant placement in these patients should be more meticulous and individualized considering the degree of tissue involvement as well as the patient's age and skeletal development compared to systemically healthy patients.

Objective: The aim of this study was to describe artificial intelligence, machine learning, and "Dentronics" applications and perspectives in dentistry. Materials and Methods: A literature review was carried out to identify the applications of artificial intelligence in the field of dentistry. A specialized search for information was carried out in three databases such as Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science. Manuscripts published from January 1988 to November 2021 were analyzed. Articles were included without any restriction by language or country. Results: Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science were found to have 215, 1023, and 98 registered manuscripts, respectively. Duplicates (191 manuscripts) were eliminated. Finally, 4 letters, 12 editorials, 5 books, 1 erratum, 54 conference papers, 3 conference reviews, and 222 reviews were excluded. Conclusions: Artificial intelligence has revolutionized prediction, diagnosis, and therapeutic management in modern dentistry. Finally, artificial intelligence is a potential complement to managing future data in this area.

Background: The increase in the number of pregnant women with tuberculosis is an important factor that should be analyzed at present. Thus, It is important to evaluate the bibliometric characteristics of the scientific production indexed in Scopus on complications of pregnancy and childbirth in pregnant women with tuberculosis. Methods: A cross-sectional bibliometric study was carried out analyzing the publications of journals indexed in Scopus between January 2016 and May 2022. A search strategy was developed using MESH terms and Boolean operators. The SciVal program (Elsevier) was used for bibliometric analysis of the information in the documents. Results: Of the 287 publications analyzed, 13 were in the International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease and BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology presented 11.9 citations per publication. Gupta Amita, from the United States, presented the most published papers; however, Myer London, from South Africa, had the highest impact, with 17.8 citations per publication. Johns Hopkins University was the institution with the highest number of publications (34). 51.9% of the publications were in journals in the Q1 quartile while 41.8% were international collaborations. Conclusions: In each year analyzed, scientific production was similar, with the highest proportion of publications in journals located in the Q1 and Q2 quartile. The institutions with the highest production were from the United States and South Africa. Therefore, there is a need to promote collaborative production in countries with greater presence of this disease.

INTRODUCTION: Bibliometrics is an area that allows for the evaluation of scientific publications by means of different indicators. The aim of this research was to perform a bibliometric study of the scientific production of the International Dental Journal (IDJ) between 2011 and 2020. METHODS: All publications of the journal between 2011 and 2020 extracted from the Scopus database were included. The number of publications, most productive institutions, type of collaboration, most productive countries, most cited articles, and authors with the highest academic production were used as bibliographic indicators. It was exported to the SciVal tool for analysis. RESULTS: A total of 630 documents published in IDJ by 1947 authors were collected, with a total of 7212 citations (11.4 citations per document). The United States was the country with the highest number of documents (100). The University of Adelaide (Australia) was the institution with the highest scientific production (16 publications), whilst the institution with the highest impact was the Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil), with 12.2 citations per paper. Marc Luiz Tennant was the author with the highest number of published manuscripts (13). Finally, most of the publications had international collaboration (146 documents). CONCLUSIONS: IDJ is a high-quality journal and, in the dental field, it has a high impact worldwide, which allows for a greater number of citations of its articles and placing it in the forefront of future research.

Aim: Stability measured by resonance frequency analysis (RFA) is an important factor to be considered in the success of dental implant treatments, which can be evaluated from the implant stability quotient (ISQ). The aim of the present case series was to map the RFA during healing of implants with nanostructured hydroxyapatite surface to describe the behavior of ISQ values related to individual factors. Materials and Methods: Twenty-three implants were placed in eight patients by conventional surgical protocol, and ISQ values were monitored from the day of implant placement until week 20. To obtain the ISQ values, an Osstell device was used and the placed implants were grouped in proportional amounts to describe the ISQ behavior considering the length (≤10 or >10 mm), the diameter (3.5 or 4.3 mm), the insertion torque (<40 N-cm or ≥40 N-cm), and the placement area (maxilla or mandible). Results: All the implants assessed decreased their values in the first 3 weeks after placement. Subsequently, the ISQ values increased by amounts similar to those obtained at the time of the placement and even more. Implants with length >10 mm, diameter 4.3 mm, and insertion torque ≥40 N-cm showed the highest ISQ values. Conclusions: A decrease in the ISQ values of dental implants with nanostructured hydroxyapatite surface was evidenced between weeks 2 and 3 considering length, diameter, insertion torque, and maxillary or mandibular placement site.

PURPOSE: To measure sensory disturbances of the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) after removal of impacted mandibular third molars using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and dental panoramic radiography (PAN) for preoperative assessment in a randomized controlled trial and to measure the efficacy of the observers' prediction of IAN exposure at surgery based on CBCT compared with PAN. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The sample consisted of 86 impacted third molars (from 79 consecutive patients) in close relation to the IAN as determined by PAN and judged as showing a "moderate" risk of IAN damage. Cases presenting with no close relation between the IAN and roots and extremely risky cases with an obvious interrelation were excluded. Potential neurosensory disturbances of the lip and chin were assessed before surgery and during the postoperative recall by measuring the function of the IAN with the light-touch sensation method. RESULTS: Postoperative sensory disturbances occurred in 1 patient in the CBCT group and 1 patient in the PAN group. The light-touch sensation test showed no significant differences at the lip (P = .10) and chin (P = .17) levels for CBCT- versus PAN-based surgery. Significant differences in making a correct diagnosis of neurovascular bundle exposure at the extraction of impacted teeth were found between the 2 modalities (P = .029). CONCLUSIONS: Within the limits of the present pilot study, CBCT was not superior to PAN in predicting postoperative sensory disturbances but was superior in predicting IAN exposure during third molar removal in cases judged as having "moderate" risk.

Background: Tuberculosis is one of the leading causes of death worldwide affecting mainly low- and middle-income countries. Therefore, the objective is to analyze the bibliometric characteristics of the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in tuberculosis in Scopus. Methods: A bibliometric study, the Scopus database was used using a search strategy composed of controlled and free terms regarding tuberculosis and AI. The search fields "TITLE," "ABSTRACT," and "AUTHKEY" were used to find the terms. The collected data were analyzed with Scival software. Bibliometric data were described through the figures and tables summarized by absolute values and percentages. Results: Thousand and forty-one documents were collected and analyzed. Yudong Zhang was the author with the highest scientific production; however, K. C. Santosh had the greatest impact. Anna University (India) was the institution with the highest number of published papers. Most papers were published in the first quartile. The United States led the scientific production. Articles with international collaboration had the highest impact. Conclusion: Articles related to tuberculosis and AI are mostly published in first quartile journals, which would reflect the need and interest worldwide. Although countries with a high incidence of new cases of tuberculosis are among the most productive, those with the highest reported drug resistance need greater support and collaboration.

The purpose of this study was to bibliometrically analyze scientific publications on Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) related to COVID-19. A specialized search of the Scopus was used (December 2019 to February 2022). Collected publications were evaluated in Scival (Elsevier). The results were arranged in tables for presentation. We found 959 papers that were collected and the highest percentage of these belonged to the area of Neurology. Josef Finsterer was the author with the highest academic production, but Benedict Michael was the one with the highest impact worldwide. Although the Universidade Federal de São Paulo (Brazil) was the college with the highest scientific production, it was King's College London that reported the highest impact. Regarding the journals, the Journal of Neurology is the one with the highest worldwide production. In addition, an increase in first quartile publication and articles with national collaboration was reported. Scholarly output on COVID-19 and GBS have been increasing. Although national collaboration has the highest proportion of manuscripts, it is the international type that reported a greater impact, this would show a great interest on the part of researchers from all over the world regarding this topic.

AIM: The objective of this research was to determine the abrasive and remineralising efficacy of quail eggshell (Coturnix coturnix) incorporated into a new experimental toothpaste. METHODS: An experimental study was designed to compare the surface microhardness of the dental enamel of bovine lateral incisors exposed to different toothpastes. In relation to microroughness (abrasive efficiency), the unit of analysis was each specimen with 16 polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) blocks. For the remineralisation variable, the unit of analysis was each bovine lateral incisor tooth. A sample size of 16 was determined for each group. RESULTS: The unpolished PMMA specimens presented the highest mean surface microroughness with a mean of 4.60 ± 1.47 µm, whilst the quail paste, universal polishing paste, control paste, and Diamond Excel Paste showed a mean of 1.16 ± 0.40 µm, 0.63 ± 024 µm, 0.45 ± 0.22 µm, and 0.43 ± 0.17 µm, respectively, presenting significant differences (P < .001). When comparing the surface microhardness of bovine lateral incisor dental enamel exposed to different toothpastes, the universal polishing paste presented the lowest microhardness, with 192.43 ± 56.21 kg/mm2, whilst the quail paste presented the greatest remineralising effect, with the highest average of 272 ± 21.18 kg/mm2, followed by the control paste with 244 ± 41.43 kg/mm2 and the Diamond Excel Paste with 228.72 ± 43.72 kg/mm2. These differences were statistically significant (P < .001). CONCLUSIONS: Significant differences were found in the surface abrasive efficiency (microroughness) of PMMA subjected to different toothpastes. The quail toothpaste presented statistically significant results compared to the control pastes, the Diamond Excel Paste, and the universal polishing paste.

The objective of this scientometric study was to assess the global trends and characteristics of published occupational health research from 2016 to 2020. The SciVal tool (Elsevier) was used to perform the corresponding bibliometric analyses such as the Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI), Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP), CiteScore, and SCImago Journal Rank (SJR). Most of the manuscripts (46.5%) had national collaboration, with an average of 6.1 citations per paper. However, only 71 manuscripts (5.4%) presented single authorship (without collaboration). It was found that 486 manuscripts related to occupational health were published in Q2 journals (top 26-50%). Scientific publications on occupational health have increased remarkably worldwide, especially in Europe, and have mainly been published in Q1 and Q2 journals with a total of 292 and 289 scientific manuscripts in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
