RESUMO

Interfacial solar steam generation (ISSG) has recently received much attention as a low-carbon-footprint and high-energy-efficient strategy for seawater desalination and wastewater treatment. However, achieving the goals of a high evaporation rate, ecofriendliness, and high tolerance to salt ions in brine remains a bottleneck. Herein, a novel hydrogel-based evaporator for effective solar desalination was synthesized on the basis of sodium alginate (SA) and carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) incorporating a carbon nanotube (CNT)-wrapped melamine sponge (MS) through a simple dipping-drying-cross-linking process. The hydrogel-based evaporator reaches a high evaporation rate of 2.18 kg m-2 h-1 in 3.5 wt % brine under 1 sun irradiation. Furthermore, it demonstrated excellent salt ion rejection in high-concentration salt water. Simultaneously, it exhibits excellent purification functionality toward heavy metals and organic dyes. This study provides a simple and efficient strategy for seawater desalination and wastewater treatment.

OBJECTIVES: In 2021, the US Congress passed the Accelerating Access to Critical Therapies for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Act. The law encourages development of "tools, methods, and processes" to improve clinical trial efficiency for neurodegenerative diseases. The Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Functional Rating Scale-Revised (ALSFRS-R) is an outcome measure administered during in-person clinic visits and used to support investigational studies for persons living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Availability of a standardized, remote-use version of the ALSFRS-R may promote more inclusive, decentralized clinical trials. A scoping literature review was conducted to identify existing remote-use ALSFRS-R tools, synthesize feasibility and comparability of administration modes, and summarize barriers and facilitators to inform development of a standardized remote-use ALSFRS-R tool. METHODS: Included studies reported comparisons between remote and in-person, clinician-reported, ALSFRS-R administration and were published in English (2002-2022). References were identified by searching peer-reviewed and gray literature. Twelve studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed to compare findings within and across modes of administration. RESULTS: Remote modes of ALSFRS-R administration were categorized into 4 nonmutually exclusive categories: telephone (n = 6), videoconferencing (n = 3), computer or online platforms (n = 3), mobile applications and wearables (n = 2), and 1 unspecified telemedicine modality (n = 1). Studies comparing in-person to telephone or videoconferencing administration reported high ALSFRS-R rating correlations and nonsignificant between-mode differences. CONCLUSIONS: There is insufficient information in the ALSFRS-R literature to support remote clinician administration for collecting high quality data. Future research should engage persons living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, care partners, and providers to develop a standardized remote-use ALSFRS-R version.

BACKGROUND: A common psychological problem among nurses is depression, potentially affecting their well-being and job performance. It is vital to explore how to alleviate nurses' depressive symptoms. AIM: The current research explored the mediating impact of basic psychological needs satisfaction on the link of gratitude with depressive symptoms. METHODS: The nurses in this study were from mainland China. A total of 724 subjects completed an online questionnaire, which included measures of depressive symptoms, basic psychological needs satisfaction and gratitude. RESULTS: Our research found that gratitude was negatively linked to depressive symptoms. Furthermore, basic psychological needs satisfaction had a partial mediation effect on the link of gratitude with depressive symptoms after controlling for five demographic variables. These results suggest that gratitude may influence depressive symptoms via basic psychological needs satisfaction. LINKING EVIDENCE TO ACTION: Our study found that basic psychological need satisfaction partially mediates the gratitude-depression relationship in nurses. The result means that hospital administrators and nurse leaders should design gratitude interventions to alleviate nurses' depressive symptoms. They also help nurses decrease depressive symptoms by creating an environment that meets their basic psychological needs.

We introduce a "solution-processing-transformation" strategy, deploying solvent vapor as scaffolds, to fabricate high-quality hydrogen-bonded organic framework (HOF) membranes. This strategy can overcome the mismatch in processing conditions and crystal growth thermodynamics faced during the facile solution processing of the membrane. The procedure includes the vapor-trigged in situ transformation of dense amorphous supramolecules to crystalline HOF-16, with HOF-11 as the transient state. The mechanism involves a vapor-activated dissolution-precipitation equilibrium shifting and hydrogen bonding-guided molecule rearrangement, elucidated through combined experimental and theoretical analysis. Upon removal of the molecular scaffolds, the resulting HOF-16 membranes showcase significant improvement in hydrogen separation performance over their amorphous counterparts and previously reported HOF membranes. The method's broad applicability is evidenced by successfully extending it to other substrates and HOF structures. This study provides a fundamental understanding of guest-induced ordered supramolecular assembly and paves the way for the advanced manufacture of high-performance HOF membranes for gas separation processes.

Long-term feed route exposure to T-2 toxin was proved to elicit growth retarding effects and induction of oxidative stress and apoptosis in Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis). However, no study with a holistic perspective has been conducted to date to further describe the in-depth toxicological mechanism of T-2 toxin in E.sinensis. In this study, an RNA-Sequencing (RNA-seq) was used in this study to investigate the effects of feed supplementation with 0 mg/kg and 4 mg/kg T-2 toxin on the hepatopancreas transcriptome of E.sinensis and establish a hepatopancreas transcriptome library of T-2 toxin chronically exposed crabs after five weeks, where 14 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were screened out across antioxidant, apoptosis, autophagy, glucolipid metabolism and protein synthesis. The actual expression of all the DEGs (Caspase, ATG4, PERK, ACSL, CAT, BIRC2, HADHA, HADHB, ACOX, PFK, eEFe1, eIF4ɑ, RPL13Ae) was also analyzed by real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). It was demonstrated that long-term intake of large amounts of T-2 toxin could impair antioxidant enzyme activity, promote apoptosis and protective autophagy, disrupt lipid metabolism and inhibit protein synthesis in the hepatopancreas of E.sinensis. In conclusion, this study explored the toxicity mechanism of T-2 toxin on the hepatopancreas of E.sinensis at the mRNA level, which lays the foundation for further investigation of the molecular toxicity mechanism of T-2 toxin in aquatic crustaceans.

BACKGROUND: Circular RNA (circRNA) has been implicated in various diseases; however, its role in atopic dermatitis (AD) or psoriasis remains unclear. OBJECTIVE: We sought to determine the differential expression profiles of circRNAs in peripheral blood mononuclear cells between healthy controls and AD patients, and explore the mechanisms underlying the effects of circRNAs on the pathogenesis of AD. METHODS: The differential expression profiles of circRNAs were analyzed by circRNA microarray. In vitro function and mechanisms by which circRNAs regulate macrophage-mediated inflammation were detected by reverse transcription quantitative PCR, Western blot analysis, RNA stability assay, immunoprecipitation, ELISA, and methylated RNA immunoprecipitation assay. In vivo roles of circRNAs were determined in 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB)-induced dermatitis and imiquimod (IMQ)-induced psoriasis mouse model. RESULTS: We identified a functional unknown circRNA hsa_circ_0004287 from 88750 circRNAs, which was upregulated in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of both AD and psoriasis patients, and was mainly expressed by macrophages under inflammatory conditions. Hsa_circ_0004287 inhibited M1 macrophage activation in vitro, and macrophage-specific overexpression of hsa_circ_0004287 alleviated skin inflammation in both AD- and psoriasis-like mice. Mechanistically, hsa_circ_0004287 reduced the stability of its host gene metastasis associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (MALAT1) by competitively binding to IGF2BP3 with MALAT1 in an N6-methyladenosine (m6A)-dependent manner. Lower levels of MALAT1 promoted the ubiquitination degradation of S100A8/S100A9, thereby impeding p38/mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphorylation and macrophage-mediated inflammation. CONCLUSION: hsa_circ_0004287 inhibits M1 macrophage activation in an m6A-dependent manner in AD and psoriasis, and may serve as a general therapeutic candidate for AD and psoriasis.

RESUMO

The Cu(OTf)2/NBS-mediated tandem reaction of 1-cinnamyl alcohol-o-carboranes for the synthesis of C-alkenyl-o-carboranes has been developed. Mechanism studies demonstrated that the Cu(OTf)2-promoted ring opening of oxetane with electron-rich arenes as soft nucleophiles was involved and was the key step for the transformation. This work provided an alternative strategy for the synthesis of C-alkenyl-o-carboranes, which has an important reference for the synthesis of o-carborane derivatives with diversity.

BACKGROUND: Dysregulation of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) is associated with a variety of human diseases; however, whether they have a role in childhood asthma is unknown. OBJECTIVE: We sought to determine the differential expression profiles of lncRNAs in PBMCs of children with asthma and the mechanisms underlying the effects of lncRNAs on the pathogenesis of asthma. METHODS: The differential expression profiles of lncRNAs were analyzed by transcriptome microarray. The effects and mechanisms by which lncRNAs influence macrophage activation were detected by real-time quantitative PCR, Western blot, RNase protection assay, and chromatin immunoprecipitation assay. The roles played by lncRNAs in asthma were tested in a cockroach allergen extract (CRE)-induced mouse model. RESULTS: We identified 719 lncRNAs that were differentially expressed in PBMCs of children with asthma, 502 of which were upregulated and 217 were downregulated. An lncRNA of unknown function, lnc-BAZ2B, was dominantly expressed in monocytes and significantly upregulated in children with asthma. lnc-BAZ2B promotes M2 macrophage activation by enhancing BAZ2B expression and exacerbated lung inflammation in an M2 macrophage-associated CRE-induced asthma model. Mechanistically, lnc-BAZ2B promoted the expression of its cis target gene BAZ2B by stabilizing its pre-mRNA. BAZ2B, a reader of H3K14ac modification, enhanced the transcription of IRF4 and promoted M2 macrophage activation. lnc-BAZ2B expression was correlated with that of BAZ2B in PBMCs from children with asthma. Baz2b knockdown could alleviate asthma severity in a CRE-induced asthma model. CONCLUSION: lnc-BAZ2B promotes M2 macrophage activation and inflammation in children with asthma and may serve as a potential therapeutic and diagnostic target in children with asthma.

BACKGROUND: We aimed to comprehensively evaluate the immunologic landscape at baseline and upon chemotherapy in cervical cancer. The information should aid ongoing clinical investigations of checkpoint blockade immunotherapies in this disease setting. METHODS: A series of 109 cervical carcinoma patients was retrospectively assayed before and after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Tumour-infiltrating immune markers (CD3, CD4, CD8, CD20, CD56, CD68, PD-1, PD-L1) were assessed by immunohistochemistry. RNA sequencing analysis was performed on matched pre- and post-treatment fresh-frozen tissues. RESULTS: At diagnosis, diverse immune cell types including CD20+ B cells, CD3+ T cells, CD56+ natural killer (NK) cells, and CD68+ macrophages were detected in different proportions of cervical carcinoma. Unsupervised hierarchical clustering evidently showed that CD4+ and CD8+ T cell abundance correlated with PD-L1 expression. Based on the immune infiltration patterns, the patients could be stratified into four groups with prognostic relevance, namely, 'immuno-active', 'immuno-medial', 'immuno-NK', and 'immuno-deficient'. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy was associated with increased CD4, CD8, CD20, and CD56 signals, most prominently in good responders. Transcriptomic data corroborated the improved anticancer immunity and identified immunosuppressive CD200 upregulation following chemotherapeutic intervention. CONCLUSIONS: A subset of cervical cancer harbours active immune microenvironment, and chemotherapy treatment may further exert locoregional immunostimulation. Immune checkpoint inhibitors as combination or maintenance therapies warrant future exploration in clinic.

The Chinese mitten crab is an important economic species in the Chinese aquaculture industry due to its rich nutritional value and distinct flavor. The hepatopancreas is a popular edible part of the Chinese mitten crab, and therefore, hepatopancreatic health directly determines its quality. However, a large-scale outbreak of hepatopancreatic necrosis syndrome ("Shuibiezi" disease in Chinese), which is caused by abiotic agents correlated with cyanobacteria bloom outbreaks, adversely affects the Chinese mitten crab breeding industry. Cyanobacterial blooms that occur in high-density farming ponds can produce microcystin-LR (MC-LR), which is hepatotoxic in fish and mammals. Hepatopancreas toxicity of MC-LR (0, 25, 50 and 75 µg/kg) was investigated after 48 h of exposure. The MC-LR can cause hepatopancreatic injury by inducing hepatopancreatic structural damage, subcellular structural changes, and cell apoptosis, followed by enhanced lipid peroxidase, reactive oxygen species, and apoptosis-related enzyme (Caspase 3, 8, and 9) activities. These in turn promote gene and protein expression of apoptosis-associated proteases (Caspase 3, 7, and 8, Bcl-2, and Bax), and alter antioxidant system responses (superoxide dismutase, glutathione S-transferase, glutathione peroxidase, glutathione reductase activities, and glutathione content). The present study is the first report on MC-LR hepatotoxicity in the Chinese mitten crab and confirms hepatopancreas toxicity, providing a theoretical basis for enhancing MCs resistance and developing preventive and curative measures against hepatopancreatic disease in the Chinese mitten crab breeding industry.

The 5-year survival rate of lung cancer is one of the lowest among various malignant tumors. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs), noncoding RNAs longer than 200 nucleotides, can function either as tumor suppressors or as oncogenes. The aim of this study is to investigate the function of lncRNA LINC01296 and its molecular mechanism in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). According to the Gene Expression Omnibus database, 10 differentially expressed lncRNAs in NSCLC cells and patient tissues are upregulated. LINC01296 is the one with the most significant overexpression. Knockdown of LINC01296 inhibits the growth and migration, arrests the cell cycle, and promotes the apoptosis of NSCLC cells. Knocking down LINC01296 in vivo suppresses tumor growth and metastasis. LINC01296 also acts as the sponge of miR-143-3p. Lowering the expression of LINC01296 leads to decreased expression of autophagy-related 2B (ATG2B), a target gene of miR-143-3p. Moreover, downregulation of LINC01296 promotes paclitaxel sensitivity in NSCLC. These results demonstrated that the LINC01296/miR-143-3p/ATG2B axis is crucial in promoting the development of NSCLC and paclitaxel resistance. Our study may provide new ideas for the further research of clinical chemotherapy of NSCLC in the near future.

BACKGROUND: Epidemiologic evidence suggests that exposure to particulate matter of 2.5 µm or less in diameter (PM2.5) aggravates asthma. OBJECTIVE: We sought to investigate the underlying mechanisms between PM2.5 exposure and asthma severity. METHODS: The relationship between PM2.5 exposure and asthma severity was investigated in an asthma model with CD4+ T cell-specific aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR)-null mice. Effects of PM2.5 and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) on differentiation of TH17/regulatory T (Treg) cells were investigated by using flow cytometry and quantitative RT-PCR. Mechanisms were investigated by using mRNA sequencing, chromatin immunoprecipitation, bisulfite sequencing, and glycolysis rates. RESULTS: PM2.5 impaired differentiation of Treg cells, promoted differentiation of TH17 cells, and aggravated asthma in an AhR-dependent manner. PM2.5 and one of its prominent PAHs, indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene (IP), promoted differentiation of TH17 cells by upregulating hypoxia-inducible factor 1α expression and enhancing glycolysis through AhRs. Exposure to PM2.5 and IP enhanced glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase 1 (Got1) expression through AhRs and accumulation of 2-hydroxyglutarate, which inhibited ten-eleven translocation methylcytosine dioxygenase 2 activity, resulting in hypermethylation in the forkhead box P3 locus and impaired differentiation of Treg cells. A GOT1 inhibitor, (aminooxy)acetic acid, ameliorated asthma by shifting differentiation of TH17 cells to Treg cells. Similar regulatory effects of exposure to PM2.5 or IP on TH17/Treg cell imbalance were noted in human T cells, and in a case-control design PAH exposure appeared to be a potential risk factor for asthma. CONCLUSIONS: The AhR-hypoxia-inducible factor 1α and AhR-GOT1 molecular pathways mediate pulmonary responses on exposure to PM2.5 through their ability to disturb the balance of TH17/Treg cells.

T-2 toxin is a secondary metabolite produced by Fusarium spp. that is a major cereal and animal feed contaminant. T-2 toxin has numerous adverse effects on animals, including hepatotoxicity. Arginine (Arg) is closely associated with the regulation of immune responses and antioxidant activity in tissues. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the protective effects of dietary Arg against oxidative damage and immune responses of the hepatopancreas induced by T-2 toxin in Chinese mitten crab. According to the results, 3.17% Arg in the diet decreased alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, and alkaline phosphatase activity in the haemolymph significantly, when compared with the levels of activity in the T-2 toxin group. Arg supplementation also increased superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activity, while decreasing malondialdehyde concentrations in the hepatopancreas, when compared with the levels in the T-2 toxin group. In addition, 3.17% Arg in the diet increased acid phosphatase and alkaline phosphatase activity in the hepatopancreas, as well as albumin concentrations in the haemolymph, when compared with the T-2 toxin group. Dietary Arg also regulated the expression of antioxidant enzyme-related genes (mitochondrial manganese superoxide dismutase, cytosolic manganese superoxide dismutase, and catalase) and immune related genes (prophenoloxidase, NF-κB-like transcription factor Relish, and lipopolysaccharide-induced TNF-α factor) to alleviate the damage associated with the T-2 toxin. Furthermore, Arg ameliorated damage to the hepatopancreas microstructure in the crabs. The results of the present study indicate that dietary Arg could enhance the antioxidant and immune capacity of Chinese mitten crab against oxidative damage and immune injury to the hepatopancreas induced by T-2 toxin.

RESUMO

A palladium catalyzed selective B(3)-H activation/oxidative dehydrogenative coupling for the synthesis of bis(o-carborane)s connected with B(3)-B(3') and B(3)-B(6') bonds has been developed for the first time. A plausible mechanism involving stepwise activation of B(3)-H and B(3'/6')-H bonds by PdII and PdIV was proposed. This work is the first example and the most efficient protocol for synthesis of bis(o-carborane)s connected with B(3)-B(3') and B(3)-B(6') bonds, which has important reference for design, synthesis, and application of bis(o-carborane)s in related fields.

Eriocheir sinensis is an important aquaculture species in China, and its yield and quality are threatened by oxidative stress caused by deteriorating water conditions. Reduced glutathione (GSH) is an endogenous antioxidant, but whether dietary GSH can increase the resistance of E. sinensis to environmental stress remains unclear. Therefore, in this study, crabs were fed with dietary GSH (0, 300, 600, 900, and 1200 mg/kg diet weight) for up to 10 weeks to determine the effects of different dietary GSH concentrations on growth, antioxidant capacity, and immunity of E. sinensis. The results showed that the weight gain rate and survival rate increased significantly as dietary GSH levels increased from 0 to 900 mg/kg, but decreased at 1200 mg/kg. Compared with the control group, the diet supplemented with 900 mg/kg GSH not only increased the concentration of GSH in the haemolymph and hepatopancreas, but also enhanced the activity of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) (p < 0.05). Diets supplemented with 600 or 900 mg/kg GSH significantly increased the enzymes activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), lysozyme (LZM), alkaline phosphatase, and acid phosphatase, and significantly decreased the content of malondialdehyde. To understand the changes in the activity of these enzymes further, the expression of related genes was detected. Diets supplemented with 600 or 900 mg/kg GSH significantly upregulated the genes expressions of cytosolic manganese SOD, mitochondrial manganese SOD, copper, zinc-SOD, GSH-Px, LZM, and prophenoloxidase activating factor, and significantly down regulated the expression of Toll-like receptor 1, Toll-like receptor 2, Dorsal, and the myeloid differentiation factor 88. However, a diet supplemented with 1200 mg/kg GSH decreased those positive indicators. Overall, our results demonstrated that an appropriate diet supplemented with 600 or 900 mg/kg GSH enhances antioxidant capacity and immunity, which will enhance the general health of E. sinensis.

Eriocheir sinensis (E. sinensis) is an important aquaculture species in China. However, deteriorating water environments lead to oxidative stress in these crabs, which subsequently reduces their quality and yield. Glutathione (GSH) is an endogenous antioxidant that is used to mitigate oxidative stress. However, whether dietary GSH can enhance the resistance of E. sinensis to oxidative stress remains unclear. Herein, crabs were fed dietary GSH (the basal diet was supplemented with 0, 300, 600, 900, and 1200 mg/kg diet weight of GSH) for up to 3 weeks and, then, challenged with lipopolysaccharide (LPS; 400 µg/kg body weight). After 6 h, their hepatopancreas were sampled. Diet supplementation with 600 and 900 mg/kg diet weight GSH not only increased the content of GSH in the hepatopancreas, but also enhanced the activities and mRNA expressions of superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), and glutathione-S-transferase (GST) (P < 0.05), compared to that in control crabs challenged with LPS alone. Diet supplementation with 600 or 900 mg/kg GSH also significantly increased the enzyme activities of GSH reductase and γ-glutamyl cysteine synthetase (γ-GCS) in LPS-treated crabs. Haematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, electron microscopy, and flow cytometry were used to examine the structure and subcellular structure of and apoptosis in the hepatopancreas. The histopathology and sub-microstructure analysis results also showed that diet supplementation with 600 or 900 mg/kg GSH significantly alleviated damage in crabs challenged with LPS and decreased reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels and cell apoptosis ratios in the hepatopancreas, compared to the LPS-treated crabs. To further understand the effect of dietary GSH on LPS-induced apoptosis, the activities and gene or protein expressions of apoptosis-related factors were evaluated. As a result, diet supplementation with 600 or 900 mg/kg GSH significantly decreased the activities of caspases-3, -8, and -9 and inhibited the relative expression of caspase-3 and -8 but increased the expression of B-cell lymphoma-2 (bcl-2) and B-cell lymphoma-2-associated X inhibitor (bax inhibitor) in crabs challenged with LPS. This treatment further significantly downregulated the relative protein levels of caspase-3, -8, -9 and Bax and upregulated those of Bcl-2 in crabs challenged with LPS. However, treatment with 1200 mg/kg GSH caused the opposite effects. Overall, our results reveal that appropriate diets supplemented with 600 or 900 mg/kg GSH could enhance the antioxidant capacity and anti-apoptotic mechanisms in crabs after LPS injection, thereby providing a theoretical basis for the application of dietary GSH in E. sinensis.

Aromatic heterocycles are ubiquitous building blocks in bioactive natural products, pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries. Accordingly, the carborane-fused heterocycles would be potential candidates in drug discovery, nanomaterials, metallacarboranes, as well as photoluminescent materials. In recent years, the transition metal catalyzed B-H activation has been proved to be an effective protocol for selective functionalization of B-H bond of o-carboranes, which has been further extended for the synthesis of polyhedral borane cluster-fused heterocycles via cascade B-H functionalization/annulation process. This article summarizes the recent progress in construction of polyhedral borane cluster-fused heterocycles via B-H activation.

We investigated the effects of icariin (ICA) on growth performance, antioxidant capacity and non-specific immunity in Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis). A total of 200 healthy crabs (average weight: 33.58 ±â€¯0.05 g) were randomly assigned to four treatments with five replicates, each with ten individuals per pool. There were four dietary treatments: the control group (fed with the basal diet), the ICA 50 group, the ICA100 group, and the ICA 200 group (fed with the basal diet supplemented with 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg ICA, respectively). These diets were provided for 8 weeks. Results indicated that ICA100 crabs had higher weight gain (WG), specific growth rate (SGR) and survival rate (SR) than the controls. Protein carbonyl content (PCC) and malondialdehyde (MDA) concentrations in the haemolymph and hepatopancreas of ICA100 crabs were significantly lower than in the control group, while the superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activities were significantly higher. The activities of PO, LZM, ACP and AKP were significantly enhanced with ICA supplementation at 50 and 100 mg/kg, yet decreased subsequently at 200 mg/kg. Furthermore, supplementation of 100 mg/kg ICA up-regulated the mRNA expression of prophenoloxidase (proPO), catalase (CAT), mitochondrial manganese superoxide dismutase (mtMnSOD), thioredoxin-1 (Trx1) and peroxiredoxin 6 (Prx6), while the mRNA expression of toll like receptors (TLRs), NF-κB-like transcription factor Relish and lipopolysaccharide-induced TNF-α factor (LITAF) were down-regulated in the hepatopancreas (P < 0.05). These findings indicate that dietary ICA supplementation at an optimum dose of 100 mg/kg may be effective in improving growth performance, antioxidant capability and non-specific immunity of Chinese mitten crab.

RESUMO

A selective mono-/tetraacetoxylation of o-carboranes with acetic acid via cross dehydrogenative coupling of cage B-H/O-H bonds has been developed, and a series of mono- and tetraacetoxylated o-carboranes have been synthesized with moderate to good yields as well as good selectivity. Mechanistic studies indicate that the acetoxyl originates from acetic acid directly, and a nucleophilic addition of PdIV-oxo species and dehydration process is proposed.
