RESUMO

Objective: Clinical studies have shown that trastuzumab combined with pertuzumab (dual-targeted drug therapy) can significantly improve the treatment status and prognosis of HER-2 positive breast cancer patients through double targeting of HER-2. This study systematically evaluated the efficacy and safety of trastuzumab combined with pertuzumab in the treatment of HER-2 positive breast cancer.Method: We search relevant databases and collect RCTs on the treatment of HER-2 positive breast cancer with dual-targeted treatment. Meta-analysis was performed using Revman5.4 software. Results: A total of 10 studies for 8553 patients were included. Meta-analysis showed that, in terms of efficacy, overall survival (OS) (HR = 1.40, 95%CI = 1.29-1.53, p < 0.00001) and progression-free survival (PFS) (HR = 1.36, 95%CI = 1.28-1.46, p < 0.00001) in dual-targeted drug therapy were better than which in the single-targeted drug group. In terms of safety, the highest incidence (Relative risk, RR) of Adverse reactions was Infections and infestations (RR = 1.48, 95%CI = 1.24-1.77, p < 0.0001) follow by Nervous system disorders (RR = 1.29, 95%CI = 1.12-1.50, p = 0.0006), Gastrointestinal disorders (RR = 1.25, 95%CI = 1.18-1.32, p < 0.0001), Respiratory, thoracic, and mediastinal disorders (RR = 1.21, 95%CI = 1.01-1.46, p = 0.04), Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders (RR = 1.14, 95%CI = 1.06-1.22, p = 0.0002) and General disorders (RR = 1.14, 95%CI = 1.04-1.25, p = 0.004) in dual-targeted drug therapy group. The incidence of Blood system disorder (RR = 0.94, 95%CI = 0.84-1.06, p = 0.32) and Liver dysfunction (RR = 0.80, 95%CI = 0.66-0.98, p = 0.03) was lower than that of the single targeted drug group. Conclusion: Dual-targeted treatment for HER-2-positive breast cancer can prolong the OS, PFS and improve the quality of patients' life. Meanwhile, it also brings a higher medication risk, which requires a rational selection of drug symptomatic interventions.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Dual antiplatelet aggregation therapy leads to better outcomes in patients with carotid artery stenosis, intracranial artery stenosis, minor strokes, or transient ischaemic attacks. However, carriers of the CYP2C19 loss-of-function allele may not experience the desired effects. We attempted to increase the clopidogrel dose to determine whether it would improve the outcomes of stroke patients who carry a single loss-of-function allele. METHODS: We recruited 131 patients with minor ischaemic stroke, within less than 7 days of stroke onset and a CYP2C19 loss-of-function allele, who had moderate-to-severe cerebral artery stenosis. Patients were divided into the high dose group (clopidogrel 150 mg per day + aspirin 100 mg per day over 21 days.) and a normal dose group (clopidogrel 75 mg per day + aspirin 100 mg per day over 21 days). The reported outcomes included any vascular or major bleeding events as the primary and safety endpoints, respectively. RESULTS: One and six vascular events occurred in the high dose and normal dose groups during the 3-months follow-up period, respectively. However, no significant difference was found between the two groups when adjusted for history of diabetes (hazard ratio, 5482; 95% confidence interval, 0.660 to 45.543; P = 0.115). No major bleeding events occurred. CONCLUSIONS: In patients with ischaemic stroke who had a single CYP2C19 loss-of-function allele and moderate to severe cerebral stenosis, fewer vascular events occurred within 3 months with high dose of clopidogrel and aspirin than with normal dose of clopidogrel and aspirin. However, the difference between the two groups was not significant. RESUMO

We conducted a large-sample study in six midwifery centres to estimate the effectiveness of Moderate Perineal Protection technique during spontaneous delivery. 31,249 women accepted the traditional technique were selected as control group, and 57,056 women accepted the Moderate Perineal Protection technique as the observation group. There was no significant difference in demographic characteristics between the two groups. The perineal episiotomy rate decreased (22.913% vs. 32.161%, p < .05), the perineal integrity significantly increased (43.505% vs. 36.384%, p < .05) and perineal trauma reduced in the observation group when compared to the control group (54.630% vs. 61.239% in first degree tears, and 1.826% vs. 2.340% in second degree tears, p < .05). The neonatal asphyxia rate in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (p < .05). The observation group also had a higher rate of total satisfaction, lower VAS score for perineal pain, shorter postpartum hospitalisation days, lower rate of postpartum urinary retention and postpartum incontinence (p < .05). We concluded that the Moderate Perineal Protection technique is safe, effective and worth promoting widely.Impact statementWhat is already known on this subject? In order to reduce the episiotomy rate and reduce perineal injury, some researches have been carried out and some perineal techniques have been evaluated, but there are still many aspects to improve. What the results of this study add? Moderate Perineal Protection technique can effectively reduce episiotomy rate, protect perineal integrity, improve neonatal outcomes and increase maternal satisfaction. What the implications are of these findings for clinical practice and/or further research? The Moderate Perineal Protection technique is an effective and safe technique worth clinical promoting widely. Further research could focus on the long-term effects of Moderate Perineal Protection technique, such as pelvic floor injury and long-term mother-child outcomes.

RESUMO

The efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture in the treatment of kidney-deficiency and bloodstasis perimenopausal sleep disorders were evaluated. A total of 67 subjects who completed the study were randomly divided into two groups. The traditional Chinese medicine group was orally given Bushen Huoxue Anshen Fang, and the acupuncture group was given acupuncture treatment. Both groups were treated for three consecutive courses of treatment, with a course of treatment of 30 days. The changes of PSQI score, improved Kupperman score,TCM syndromes, serum sex hormone, coagulation, routine blood and urine, liver and kidney function and electrocardiogram were observed before and after treatment. After treatment, the total effective rates of Chinese medicine group and acupuncture group were similar or respectively 91. 43% and 87. 50%. The scores of PSQI,improved Kupperman and TCM syndromes in both groups decreased significantly( P<0. 05). The effect of improving Kupperman score in TCM group was better than that in acupuncture group( P< 0. 01). The effect of improving PSQI and TCM syndromes was similar to that in acupuncture group. The levels of serum FSH and LH were decreased in both groups( P<0. 05),but with no significant difference between the two groups; the level of serum E2 was increased in both groups, but with no significant difference. Compared with before treatment,PT was increased in traditional Chinese medicine group( P<0. 05),but with no significant difference in APTT,TT and FIB before and after treatment; PT and TT were prolonged in acupuncture group( P<0. 05),but with no significant difference in APTT and FIB before and after treatment. The effect of improving PT and TT in the acupuncture group was better than that in the traditional Chinese medicine group( P<0. 05). The results showed that TCM and acupuncture had similar therapeutic effects on perimenopausal sleep disorder of kidney deficiency and blood stasis type, and were safe and reliable. The mechanism was related to the improvement of serum FSH and E2 levels.

RESUMO

Epidemiological studies have assessed the association between Fc gamma receptor IIIA (FCGR3A) 158 V/F and the response to rituximab-based therapy in patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), but the findings have been inconsistent. We performed this meta-analysis to obtain a better assessment of this relationship. Electronic database searches were conducted for relevant studies. A pooled odds ratio (OR) with a 95 % confidence interval (95 % CI) was used to assess the strength of the association. Analyses of the subgroup and publication bias were conducted. A total of 10 studies involving 1050 patients were analyzed. In all the genetic models, no clear relationship was found between the FCGR3A 158 V/F polymorphism and the response to rituximab-based therapy in NHL patients. When categorized by ethnicity, Asian individuals with the FCGR3A 158 V/V allele (OR = 4.37; 95 % CI = 1.07-17.73; P = 0.039) or the non-F/(FV + VV) (OR = 2.50; 95 % CI = 1.04-5.98; P = 0.040) allele have a significantly higher complete response rate (CR) compared to FF individuals. No obvious heterogeneities were observed. In addition, no statistical evidence for a publication bias was found. Our study suggested that the FCGR3A 158 V/F polymorphism can predict the treatment response to rituximab-based chemotherapy in NHL patients, especially for Asian individuals.

RESUMO

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a complex neurodegenerative disease. Despite several decades of research, the development of effective treatments and responses for Alzheimer's disease remains elusive. The utilization of polysaccharides for Alzheimer's disease became more popular due to their beneficial characteristics, notably their multi-target activity and low toxicity. This review mainly focuses on the researches of recent 5 years in the regulation of AD by naturally derived polysaccharides, systematically lists the possible intervention pathways of polysaccharides from different mechanisms, and explores the structure-activity relationship between polysaccharide structural activities, so as to provide references for the intervention and treatment of AD by polysaccharides.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: The synergistic effects of combining arsenic compounds with imatinib against chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) have been established using in vitro data. We conducted a clinical trial to compare the efficacy of the arsenic realgar-indigo naturalis formula (RIF) plus imatinib with that of imatinib monotherapy in patients with newly diagnosed chronic phase CML (CP-CML). METHODS: In this multicenter, randomized, double-blind, phase 3 trial, 191 outpatients with newly diagnosed CP-CML were randomly assigned to receive oral RIF plus imatinib (n = 96) or placebo plus imatinib (n = 95). The primary end point was the major molecular response (MMR) at 6 months. Secondary end points include molecular response 4 (MR4), molecular response 4.5 (MR4.5), progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), and adverse events. RESULTS: The median follow-up duration was 51 months. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the recruitment to this study had to be terminated early, on May 28, 2020. The rates of MMR had no significant statistical difference between combination and imatinib arms at 6 months and any other time during the trial. MR4 rates were similar in both arms. However, the 12-month cumulative rates of MR4.5 in the combination and imatinib arms were 20.8% and 10.5%, respectively (p = 0.043). In core treatment since the 2-year analysis, the frequency of MR4.5 was 55.6% in the combination arm and 38.6% in the imatinib arm (p = 0.063). PFS and OS were similar at five years. The safety profiles were similar and serious adverse events were uncommon in both groups. CONCLUSION: The results of imatinib plus RIF as a first-line treatment of CP-CML compared with imatinib might be more effective for achieving a deeper molecular response (Chinadrugtrials number, CTR20170221).

RESUMO

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have a wide application prospect in wastewater treatment because of their unique structure and properties; however, the preparation of pure COF membranes remains a great challenge by reason of the insolubility and unprocessability of COF powders formed at high temperature and high pressure. In this study, a continuous and defect-free bacterial cellulose/covalent organic framework composite membrane was prepared by using bacterial cellulose (BC) and a porphyrin-based COF with their unique structures and hydrogen bonding forces. The dye rejection rate of this composite membrane toward methyl green and congo red was up to 99%, and the permeance was about 195 L m-2 h-1 bar-1. It showed excellent stability under different pH conditions, long-time filtration, and cyclic experimental conditions. In addition, the hydrophilicity and surface negativity of the BC/COF composite membrane made it have certain antifouling performance, and the flux recovery rate can reach 93.72%. More importantly, the composite membrane exhibited excellent antibacterial properties due to the doping of the porphyrin-based COF, and the survival rates of both Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were less than 1% after exposure to visible light. The self-supporting BC/COF composite membrane synthesized by this strategy also has outstanding antifouling and antibacterial properties, in addition to excellent dye separation effects, which greatly broaden the application of COF materials in water treatment.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Streptococcus pneumoniae (S. pneumoniae) is one of the common pathogens causing acute respiratory tract infection (ARTI). The study aimed to investigate the prevalence of S. pneumoniae in patients with ARTI in Beijing, and to provide reference evidence for prevention and control of S. pneumoniae. METHOD: The patients from the surveillance data of ARTI in Beijing from 2009 to 2020 were recruited in the study. All patients were tested for S. pneumoniae and other viral and bacterial pathogens. Logistic regression model was used to explore the epidemiological features of S. pneumoniae. RESULTS: Totally, 4.63% (253/5468) of the ARTI patients were positive for S. pneumoniae. The age, case type and antibiotic therapy in one week before sampling affected the positive rate of S. pneumoniae in patients. No significant difference on the positive rate of S. pneumoniae between the mild and severe pneumonia. Patients infected with S. pneumoniae had a higher risk of pneumonia in adults and the elderly, but a lower risk in children. The leading bacterial and viral pathogens in patients positive for S. pneumoniae were Haemophilus influenzae (36.36%) and human rhinovirus (35.59%), respectively. CONCLUSION: This study showed that the prevalence of S. pneumoniae in the patients with ARTI was at a low level in Beijing from 2009 to 2020, which was higher in elderly patients, outpatients and patients without antibiotic therapy. It is necessary to further explore the serotype of S. pneumoniae and PCVs vaccine coverage, and rationally develop vaccine manufacture and vaccination programs to reduce the burden of pneumococcal diseases.

RESUMO

Objective: To identify the main factors associated with early childhood caries by analyzing the risk factors of early childhood caries, thus providing a reference for developing prevention programs to reduce the risk of early childhood caries. Methods: We selected a total of 221 children aged 3-4 years from two kindergartens in Tongzhou District, Beijing for this study. We conducted oral examination and the caries activity test (Cariostat) on children and their parents / primary caregivers, and the parents / primary caregivers additionally answered a questionnaire survey. Based on the results, we comprehensively evaluated the caries status of children and statistically analyzed the caries-related factors to identify the relevant risk factors. Results: The mean age of children in the study children was 40.08 ± 2.65 months, with a caries prevalence rate of 54.97% and a mean caries value of 4.61. Early childhood caries was correlated with the intake frequency of sugary foods, intake of sugary foods before bedtime, frequency of tooth brushing, oral health knowledge of parents, caries susceptibility, and age of starting to brush teeth. Logistic regression analysis results showed that the intake frequency of sugary foods, oral health knowledge of parents, and caries susceptibility were the factors influencing early childhood caries, especially the intake frequency of sugary foods. Conclusion: The intake frequency of sugary foods, intake of sugary foods before bedtime, frequency of brushing teeth, oral health knowledge of parents, caries susceptibility, and age of starting to brush teeth were associated with early childhood caries. Among these, the intake frequency of sugary foods, oral health knowledge of parents, and caries susceptibility, especially the intake frequency of sugary foods, were the influencing factors.

RESUMO

This study aimed to explore the safety and effectiveness of rehabilitation treatment for stroke patients with muscular call vein thrombosis (MCVT) in the lower limbs. A total of 173 patients were recruited with stroke complicated by MCVT, including 130 who received rehabilitation training and 43 who did not receive rehabilitation training. The t test and chi-square test were used to analyze the basic data of the 2 groups. There were no significant differences in the Fugl-Meyer Assessment scores between 2 groups at the beginning of recruitment (P = .149). There was a significant difference in the Fugl-Meyer Assessment scores of the lower limbs in patients with MCVT after 3 weeks of rehabilitation treatment (P < .001), and there was a significant difference in the rate of MCVT recanalization and extension between the 2 groups (χ2 = 11.646, P = 0001). Combined with anticoagulation therapy, rehabilitation training did not increase the thrombosis progression of MCVT and was effective in the recovery of lower limb motor function in stroke patients.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Subthalamic nucleus (STN) deep brain stimulation (DBS) is an effective treatment for Parkinson's disease (PD), that can improve patients' motor and non-motor symptoms. However, there are differences in the improvement of patients' emotional symptoms and cognitive function. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the impact of active contact location and the volume of tissue activated (VTA) on patients' emotional symptoms and cognitive function in STN-DBS in PD. METHODS: A total of 185 PD patients were included in this study. We evaluated them using the Movement Disorder Society-Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale, Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAM-A), Hamilton Depression Scale (HAM-D), Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), and Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) scales at the preoperative, 1- and 12-month postoperative time points. Leads were positioned in standard space using the Lead-DBS toolbox, and VTA was calculated for analysis. RESULTS: When the lead active contact was closer to the ventral side of the STN, the patients' HAM-A improvement rate was higher, and when the active contact was closer to the anterior and dorsal sides of the STN, the patients' MoCA improvement rate was higher. Stimulation of the sensorimotor zone was more favorable to the improvement of HAM-A and HAM-D in patients. And, the stimulation of the associative zone was more favorable to the improvement of MoCA in patients. CONCLUSION: Our results provide evidence that the 12-month outcomes of cognitive function and emotional symptoms in PD patients with STN-DBS were closely related to the specific location of the active contacts in the STN and influenced by the VTA.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Dementia is a severe neurological and psychological disease that occurs in older adults worldwide. The knowledge and attitude of medical-vocational college students play an important role in supporting primary healthcare systems. AIM: To investigate the level of knowledge, contact experience, and attitudes toward dementia among medical-vocational college students in China. METHODS: A cross-sectional survey was conducted, and 3-year medical and medical-related students from eight vocational colleges in Anhui province were recruited. The contact experience, attitudes, and knowledge level of students toward dementia were assessed using a questionnaire designed according to the Chinese version of the Alzheimer's Disease Knowledge Scale (ADKS). RESULTS: A total of 2444 medical and medical-related students completed the survey, of whom 86.7% of respondents had interests and concerns regarding Alzheimer's disease (AD), and 29.2% of respondents had experiences of contact with dementia patients. Overall attitudes toward dementia were negative. Only 35.4% of students were interested in participating in the caregiving of dementia patients. The mean score of students' knowledge about AD as assessed by the ADKS was 21.16 (standard deviation, 3.43) out of 30. CONCLUSION: Dementia-related knowledge of medical-vocational college students was at a medium level, and their overall attitudes toward dementia were negative.

RESUMO

Introduction: Whether in advanced countries lead exposure still contributes to renal impairment is debated, because blood lead (BL) level is declining toward preindustrial levels and because longitudinal studies correlating renal function and BL changes over time are scarce. Methods: The Study for Promotion of Health in Recycling Lead (SPHERL) evaluated the 2-year renal function responses in 251 workers (mean age, 29.7 years) transiting from environmental to occupational exposure. Main study end point was the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) derived from serum creatinine (eGFRcrt), cystatin C (eGFRcys), or both (eGFRcc). BL level was measured by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (detection limit 0.5 µg/dl). Results: In the follow-up, mean baseline BL level of 4.13 µg/dl increased 3.30-fold. In fully adjusted mixed models, additionally accounting for the within-participant clustering of the 1- and 2-year follow-up data, a 3-fold BL level increment was not significantly correlated with changes in eGFR with estimates amounting to -0.86 (95% CI: -2.39 to 0.67), -1.58 (-3.34 to 0.18), and -1.32 (-2.66 to 0.03) ml/min per 1.73 m2 for eGFRcrt, eGFRcys, or eGFRcc, respectively. Baseline BL level and the cumulative lead burden did not materially modify these estimates, but baseline eGFR was a major determinant of eGFR changes showing regression to the mean during follow-up. Responses of serum osmolarity, urinary gravity, or the urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR) were also unrelated to the BL level increment. The age-related decreases in eGFRcrt, eGFRcys, and eGFRcc were -1.41, -0.96, and -1.10 ml/min per 1.73 m2, respectively. Conclusion: In the current study, the 2-year changes in renal function were unrelated to the increase in BL level. However, given the CIs around the point estimates of the changes in eGFRcc and eGFRcys, a larger study with longer follow-up is being planned.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To compare the therapeutic effect between acupuncture combined with ibuprofen sustained-release capsule and simple ibuprofen sustained-release capsule on chronic pelvic pain (CPP) after pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). METHODS: A total of 144 patients were randomized into an observation group (72 cases, 10 cases dropped off) and a control group (72 cases, 9 cases dropped off). Ibuprofen sustained-release capsule was given orally in the control group, one capsule a time. On the basis of the treatment in the control group, acupuncture was applied at Guanyuan (CV 4), Shuidao (ST 28), Guilai (ST 29), Shenshu (BL 23) and Ciliao (BL 32), and Shuidao (ST 28), Guilai (ST 29), Shenshu (BL 23) and Ciliao (BL 32) were connected to electroacupuncture in the observation group. The treatment was given 10 days before menstruation, once a day for 3 menstrual cycles in both groups, and the follow-up was adopted 3 menstrual cycles after treatment. The visual analogue scale (VAS) scores of hypogastrium and lumbosacral region before treatment, after treatment, and at the follow-up, the score of local signs and the score of World Health Organization quality of life questionnaire-brief version (WHOQOL-BREF) before and after treatment were observed in the both groups. RESULTS: After treatment and at the follow-up, the VAS scores of hypogastrium and lumbosacral region were decreased compared before treatment in both groups (P<0.05), and those in the observation group were lower than the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, except for the score of uterosacral ligament tenderness in the control group, the scores of local signs were decreased compared before treatment in both groups (P<0.05), and the score of uterine appendages tenderness, the total score of local signs in the observation group were lower than the control group (P<0.05). Compared before treatment, the physiological scores of WHOQOL-BREF were increased in both groups (P<0.05), the scores of psychology, social relations and environment were increased in the observation group (P<0.05), and the physiological score was higher than the control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Acupuncture combined with ibuprofen sustained-release capsule can effectively improve the symptoms, signs and quality of life in patients with CPP after PID, the therapeutic effect is superior to simple ibuprofen sustained-release capsule.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To observe the efficacy of acupuncture combined with Heixiaoyao powder for children with cerebral palsy (liver-qi stagnation, spleen-kidney deficiency syndrome) and its effect on serum immune indexes and nerve growth related protein. METHODS: A total of 180 children with cerebral palsy were randomly divided into a combined group (60 cases, 2 cases dropped off), an acupuncture group (60 cases, 4 cases dropped off) and a Chinese medication group (60 cases, 5 cases dropped off). On the basis of conventional treatment, the children in the combined group were treated with acupuncture [Baihui (GV 20), Sishencong (EX-HN 1), Shenting (GV 24), Benshen (GB 13), 30 min each time, twice a day] and Heixiaoyao powder; the children in the acupuncture group were treated with acupuncture, and the children in the Chinese medication group were treated with Heixiaoyao powder, the treatment was same with the combined group. All the children were treated for 6 consecutive days and rest for 1 day, totaling for 8 weeks. The Gesell developmental schedules (GDS) and TCM symptom scores were recorded before treatment, after treatment and at 3-month, 6-month and 12-month follow-up visit; the serum immune indexes (IgA, IgG and IgM) and nerve growth related protein [myelin basic protein (MBP), high mobility group box-1 (HMGB1), neuronspecific enolase (NSE)] were detected before and after treatment. The clinical efficacy of each group was evaluated. RESULTS: The total effective rate was 91.4% (53/58) in the combined group, which was higher than 80.4% (45/56) in the acupuncture group and 78.2% (43/55) in the Chinese medication group (P<0.05). Compared before treatment, the GDS scores in the three groups were increased and the TCM symptom scores were reduced after treatment and at 3-month, 6-month and 12-month follow-up visit (P<0.05). The GDS score in the combined group was higher than that in the acupuncture group and the Chinese medication group, and the TCM symptom score was lower than that in the acupuncture group and Chinese medication group (P<0.05). After treatment, the serum levels of IgA, IgG and IgM in the combined group were increased (P<0.05), and the serum levels of MBP, HMGBl and NSE were decreased (P<0.05), and the improvements were superior to those in the acupuncture group and the Chinese medication group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Acupuncture combined with Heixiaoyao powder could effectively improve the development quotient in children with cerebral palsy (liver-qi stagnation, spleen-kidney deficiency syndrome), regulate the serum immune indexes and nerve growth related protein levels.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: A series of public health preventive measures has been widely implemented in Beijing to control the coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic since January 2020. An evaluation of the effects of these preventive measures on the spread of other respiratory viruses is necessary. METHODS: Respiratory specimens collected from children with acute respiratory infections were tested by NxTAG™ respiratory pathogen panel assays during January 2017 and December 2020. Specimens characterized as rhinoviruses (RVs) were sequenced to identify the RV species and types. Then, the epidemiology results of respiratory pathogens in 2020 were compared with those from 2017 to 2019 using SPSS statistics 22.0. RESULTS: The positive rates of adenovirus (ADV), influenza virus (flu), RVs, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) dropped abruptly by 86.31%, 94.67%, 94.59%, and 92.17%, respectively, from February to May 2020, compared with the average level in the same period during 2017-2019. Positive rates of RVs then steeply increased from June 2020 (13.77%), to an apex (37.25%) in August 2020, significantly higher than the average rates (22.51%) in August 2017-2019 (P = 0.005). The increase, especially in group ≥ 3 years, was accompanied by the reopening of schools and kindergartens after the 23rd and 24th week of 2020 in Beijing. CONCLUSIONS: Whereas the abrupt drop in viral pathogen positive rates from February to May 2020 revealed the remarkable effects of the COVID-19 preventive measures, the sharp increase in positive rates of RVs from the 23rd week of 2020 might be explained by the reopening of schools and kindergartens in Beijing.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to analyze the anatomy variation of coronary vein system in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) and non-ischemic heart disease (NIHD). METHOD: Forty-one patients with IHD and 87 patients with NIHD [101 men, mean age (63.5 +/- 10.6) years] were included in this study. RESULTS: Coronary sinuses were successfully cannulated and venographies were obtained in 127 cases. Transvenous LV pacing leads were successfully placed in optimal coronary vein in 123 cases (96.09%). The majority (76.38%) patients had at least one or more vessel abnormalities (thinness, stenosis, tortuousity, lack of lateral marginal vein or postero-lateral vein). The incidence of thin and tortuousity was significantly higher in lateral marginal vein than that in postero-lateral vein (P < 0.05-0.01). The incidence of lack of postero-lateral marginal vein was more frequent than the lack of lateral vein (P < 0.05). The rate of abnormality in both vessels was 25.2%. Incidence of vein lack in male was more frequent than in female (P < 0.05). The thin and tortuousity of vessels in female were more frequent than in male (P < 0.05). The incidence of thin and tortuousity of postero-lateral and abnormality of both vessels was significantly higher in IHD than in NIHD patients (P < 0.05). All coronary sinus myocardial bridges occurred in NIHD. Stenoses of left anterior descending (LAD) and left circumflex (LCX) were mostly associated with abnormality of lateral vessels. CONCLUSIONS: The anatomic variations of lateral and postero-lateral coronary vein were more frequent in this patient cohort. Vein lack in male was more frequent and the thin and tortuousity of vessels were less in male than in female patients. The ratio of vessel abnormality is higher in patients with IHD. Coronary arteries stenosis and position of infarction are associated with anatomic variations of coronary vein system.
