RESUMEN
ABSTRACT: Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2-i) are a novel class of oral hypoglycemic agents currently used among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The effects of SGLT2-i inhibitors on cardiac structure and function are not fully understood. The aim of this study is to evaluate the echocardiographic changing among patients with well-controlled T2DM treated with SGLT2-i in real-world setting. Thirty-five well-controlled T2DM patients (65 ± 9 years, 43.7% male) with preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and 35 age and sex-matched controls were included. T2DM patients underwent clinical and laboratory evaluation; 12-lead surface electrocardiogram; 2-dimensional color Doppler echocardiography at enrolment, before SGLT2-i administration, and at 6 months follow-up after an uninterrupted 10 mg once daily of empagliflozin (n: 21) or dapagliflozin (n: 14). Standard echocardiographic measurements, LV global longitudinal strain (LV-GLS), global wasted work, and global work efficiency were calculated. T2DM patients showed higher E\E' ratio (8.3 ± 2.5 vs. 6.3 ± 0.9; P < 0.0001 ) and lower LV-GLS (15.8 ± 8.1 vs. 22.1 ± 1.4%; P < 0.0001 ) and global myocardial work efficiency (91 ± 4 vs. 94 ± 3%; P: 0.0007 ) compared with age and sex-matched controls. At 6-month follow-up, T2DM patients showed a significant increase in LVEF (58.9 ± 3.2 vs. 62 ± 3.2; P < 0.0001 ), LV-GLS (16.2 ± 2.8 vs. 18.7 ± 2.4%; P = 0.003 ), and global work efficiency (90.3 ± 3.5 vs. 93.3 ± 3.2%; P = 0.0004 ) values; conversely, global wasted work values (161.2 ± 33.6 vs. 112.72 ± 37.3 mm Hg%; P < 0.0001 ) significantly decreased. Well-controlled T2DM patients with preserved LVEF who are treated with a SGLT2-i on top of the guidelines direct medical therapy showed a favorable cardiac remodeling, characterized by the improvement of LV-GLS and myocardial work efficiency.

Percutaneous patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure by traditional, double disc occluder devices was shown to be safe for patients with PFO, and more effective than prolonged medical therapy in preventing recurrent thromboembolic events. The novel suture-mediated "deviceless" PFO closure system overcomes most of the risks and limitations associated with the traditional PFO occluders, appearing to be feasible in most interatrial septum anatomies, even if data about its long-term effectiveness and safety are still lacking. The aim of the present review was to provide to the reader the state of the art about the traditional and newer techniques of PFO closure, focusing both on the procedural aspects and on the pivotal role of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) in patient's selection, peri-procedural guidance, and post-interventional follow-up.
RESUMEN
The favorable effects of physical activity on the cardiovascular system have been well described in scientific literature. Physical activity reduces cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in both healthy subjects and in patients with cardiovascular disease. However, different intensity levels of physical activity have a different impact on the cardiovascular system. Some data support the hypothesis of a "physical activity paradox": repetitive exposure to vigorous physical activity may induce biological effects that counteract the benefits of moderate intensity levels of physical activity. In this review, we report the main effects of acute and chronic physical activity on the cardiovascular system and we summarize the biochemical mechanisms that may explain these effects.

BACKGROUND: Frontline immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI)-based regimens in non-oncogene-addicted non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) have been deeply investigated. To rank the available therapeutic options, we carried out a systematic review and Bayesian meta-analysis. METHODS: A comprehensive search for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of ICI regimens, and a pairwise and a network meta-analysis (NMA) with an all-comers and a stratified strategy were conducted. Endpoints were overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), objective response rate (ORR) and treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs). RESULTS: Nineteen RCTs involving 17 treatment regimens were included. For the all-comers population, pembrolizumab/chemotherapy (CT) and cemiplimab were most likely the best treatments. For programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) <1% nivolumab/ipilimumab with/without CT, for PD-L1 >1% and 1%-49% pembrolizumab/CT and for PD-L1 >50% cemiplimab ranked first for OS. In non-squamous (NSQ), pembrolizumab with/without CT ranked first for OS; cemiplimab ranked worse than the unselected population. In squamous (SQ), pooled hazard ratio (HR) showed a better chance in improving efficacy for combination strategy, while monotherapy did not, except for cemiplimab that ranked second. Atezolizumab/CT/bevacizumab ranked first in most subgroups for PFS. Direct comparison showed a non-statistically significant benefit of ICI regimens for the liver metastases cohort in OS, with a good ranking for pembrolizumab/CT and atezolizumab/bevacizumab/CT. Regarding brain metastases, all ICI regimens demonstrated an improvement in OS and PFS compared to CT. Nivolumab/ipilimumab/CT ranked better in this subset. CONCLUSIONS: Our meta-analysis updated on the most recent findings demonstrates that different ICI treatments rank differently in specific NSCLC settings (histology, biomarker and clinical presentation) offering a novel challenging scenario for clinical decision making and research planning.

AIM: The aim of the present study was to assess the safety and effectiveness of non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) versus vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients undergoing electrical cardioversion (EC). METHODS: A propensity score-matched analysis was performed in order to identify two homogeneous groups including AF patients on NOACs and VKAs treatment scheduled for EC. The primary safety endpoint was major bleeding. The composite of stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA) and systemic embolism (SE) was the primary effectiveness endpoint. The discontinuation rate of anticoagulant therapy was assessed. RESULTS: A total of 495 AF patients on NOACs therapy and scheduled for EC were compared to 495 VKAs recipients. No statistically significant differences in the incidence of both major bleeding (1.01% versus 1.4%; P= 0.5) and thromboembolic events (0.6% versus 0.8%; P= 0.7) were observed during a mean follow-up of 15 ± 3 months. The discontinuation rate of NOACs was significantly lower compared to VKAs (1.6% versus 3.6%, P=0.04). CONCLUSION: We showed a safe and effective clinical profile of NOACs among AF patients scheduled for electrical cardioversion in real-life setting. Patients on NOACs therapy showed a lower discontinuation rate compared to those on VKAs.

OBJECTIVES: Lymphoproliferative disorders are often observed in HIV-positive patients. Combination antiretroviral treatment (cART) during antineoplastic chemotherapy is beneficial, but little is known about the clinical outcome according to different antiretroviral combinations. The aim of the study was to address this gap in current knowledge. METHODS: A retrospective study was conducted in five large Italian centres for the period from 1998 to 2015; HIV-positive patients diagnosed with lymphoma were included and demographic, clinical and therapeutic variables were recorded and associated with clinical outcomes. Bivariate and multivariate analyses were performed, including Cox proportional hazard models for survival. RESULTS: A total of 399 patients were included in the study. The most common types of lymphoma were diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLCLB; n = 164), Hodgkin lymphoma (HL; n = 99) and Burkitt lymphoma (BL; n = 57), followed by plasmablastic lymphoma (PBL; n = 38), T-cell lymphoma (TCL; n = 17), indolent lymphoma (n = 10) and other less common types (n = 14). cART was given to 327 (out of 387 evaluable) patients: in 216 subjects it was protease inhibitor (PI)-based, in 73 it was nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI)-based and in 18 it was integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI)-based (the remaining 20 individuals received other regimens). The 5-year overall survival was 57.5% (52.8% for DLCLB, 67.8% for HL, 42.3% for BL, 60.6% for PBL and 64.7% for TCL). PI-based ART compared with other compounds was associated with worse survival in non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and HL patients combined (P ≤ 0.001) and in NHL patients alone (P < 0.001); grade 3-4 haematological toxicities were more commonly observed in PI-treated individuals. Lymphoma diagnosis in recent years, better immunovirological status, lower lymphoma stage and better prognostic indexes were associated with better survival. CONCLUSIONS: PI-based cART while on chemotherapy was associated with worse overall survival and more frequent haematological complications in HIV-positive patients with lymphoma.
RESUMEN
Dendritic cells (DCs) have a key role in regulating tumor immunity, tumor cell growth and drug resistance. We hypothesized that multiple myeloma (MM) cells might recruit and reprogram DCs to a tumor-permissive phenotype by changes within their microRNA (miRNA) network. By analyzing six different miRNA-profiling data sets, miR-29b was identified as the only miRNA upregulated in normal mature DCs and significantly downregulated in tumor-associated DCs. This finding was validated in primary DCs co-cultured in vitro with MM cell lines and in primary bone marrow DCs from MM patients. In DCs co-cultured with MM cells, enforced expression of miR-29b counteracted pro-inflammatory pathways, including signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 and nuclear factor-κB, and cytokine/chemokine signaling networks, which correlated with patients' adverse prognosis and development of bone disease. Moreover, miR-29b downregulated interleukin-23 in vitro and in the SCID-synth-hu in vivo model, and antagonized a Th17 inflammatory response. All together, these effects translated into strong anti-proliferative activity and reduction of genomic instability of MM cells. Our study demonstrates that MM reprograms the DCs functional phenotype by downregulating miR-29b whose reconstitution impairs DCs ability to sustain MM cell growth and survival. These results underscore miR-29b as an innovative and attractive candidate for miRNA-based immune therapy of MM.

The Mediterranean area is historically characterized by high human pressure on water resources. Today, while climate is projected to be modified in the future, through precipitation decrease and temperature increase, that jointly and non-linearly may affect runoff, concerns about water availability are increasing. For these reasons, quantitative assessment of future modifications in the mean annual water availability are important; likewise, the description of the future interannual variability of some hydrological components such as runoff and evapotranspiration are highly wished for water management and ecosystems dynamics analyses. This study investigates at basin spatial scale future runoff and evapotranspiration, exploring their probability density functions and their interdependence as functions of climatic changes. In order to do that, a parsimonious conceptual lumped model is here used. The model is forced by different future climate scenarios, generated through a weather generator based on a stochastic downscaling of an ensemble of General Circulation Models (GCMs) realizations. The use of the adopted hydrological model, under reliable stochastic future climate scenarios, allows to project future values of evapotranspiration and runoff in a probabilistic framework and, at the same time, the evaluation of their bivariate frequency distributions for changes through the Multivariate Kernel Density Estimation method. As a case study, a benchmark Mediterranean watershed has been proposed (Imera Meridionale, Italy). Results suggest a radical shift and shape modification of the annual runoff and evapotranspiration probability density functions. Possible implications and impacts on water resources management are here addressed and discussed.
RESUMEN
PURPOSE: To know children's visual conditions and assess the actual status of ophthalmological prevention in Italy, highlighting both positive and negative aspects and its variables. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Research was carried out in nine Italian regions (Sicilia, Calabria, Campania, Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise, Emilia Romagna, Lombardia, Friuli Venezia Giulia) by means of questionnaire filled in by preschool, elementary and junior high school children's parents. A different amount of questionnaires has been got for each region. For this reason a percentage distribution is used instead of absolute value, in order to remove distortion due to the different size of samples from region to region. Statistical analysis was carried out. RESULTS: 36.744 files were collected. Most important data were about (average):Parents' schooling (37% junior high school, 46% high school, 12% degree). 2. Spread of refractive errors (23% of children wear glasses). 3. Relation between children glasses (77% accepted glasses); 4. First ophthalmological examination: age (90% <6 yrs old in Lombardia), aim (77% prevention), who take the initiative (77% parents). 5. Relation between neonatal ophthalmological examination and premature birth or stay in incubator (Friuli: examination carried out on 63% of premature babies and on 79% of babies who needed the stay in the incubator). 6. The most common ocular diseases among children (subjective disorders 60%, motility disorders 20%, annexes' disorders 8%). DISCUSSION: There are no many examples of studies about childhood health and even less frequent are the investigations about prevention and the diffusion of ophthalmological examination among children. Our data result from a pretty representative sample of Italian reality. The main feature of visual health among the children included in our research is the great spread of refractive errors, according to most economically advanced countries. Parents play a key role regarding childhood prevention, because they seem to have a high level of awareness in most included regions. Therefore, the family should represent the recipient of efforts in order to move up further the ophthalmological examination on children, preferably at birth.

Our objective was to characterize the role of grafted cells in determining telomere length (TL) after hematopoietic SCT (HSCT). A total of 20 patients undergoing autografts had PBSC collected after two sequential mobilization courses: TL in the first collection was significantly longer than in the second. For their autografts, 10 patients used PBSC from the first collection and 10 from the second. TL was also investigated before and after HSCT and on the graft in 10 allogeneic HSCT. After autografting, patients receiving PBSC from the first collection had BM TL reflecting that of grafted cells (median bp: 7730 on PBSC vs 7610 on post-HSCT BM, P=NS) and significantly longer than TL of the second collection; analogously, patients autografted with PBSC from the second collection had BM TL reflecting that of grafted cells (7360 on PBSC vs 7120 on post-HSCT BM, P=NS) and significantly shorter compared with the first collection. In the allograft setting, eight patients had their pre-transplant TL significantly shorter than donor PBSC (5960 vs 7110; P=0.0005); following HSCT, BM TL (median 7380 bp) was identical to that of the graft (P=NS). We conclude that grafted cells have a major role in determining TL after HSCT.

A prospective multicenter program was performed to evaluate the combination of rituximab and high-dose (hd) sequential chemotherapy delivered with multiple autologous peripheral blood progenitor cell (PBPC) support (R-HDS-maps regimen) in previously untreated patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLB-CL) and age-adjusted International Prognostic Score (aaIPI) score 2-3. R-HDS-maps includes: (i) three APO courses; (ii) sequential administration of hd-cyclophosphamide (CY), hd-Ara-C, both supplemented with rituximab, hd-etoposide/cisplatin, PBPC harvests, following hd-CY and hd-Ara-C; (iii) hd-mitoxantrone (hd-Mito)/L-Pam + 2 further rituximab doses; (iv) involved-field radiotherapy. PBPC rescue was scheduled following Ara-C, etoposide/cisplatin and Mito/L-Pam. Between 1999 and 2004, 112 consecutive patients aged <65 years (74 score 2, 38 score 3) entered the study protocol. There were five early and two late toxic deaths. Overall 90 patients (80%) reached clinical remission (CR); at a median 48 months follow-up, 87 (78%) patients are alive, 82 (73%) in continuous CR, with 4 year overall survival (OS) and event-free survival (EFS) projections of 76% (CI 68-85%) and 73% (CI 64-81%), respectively. There were no significant differences in OS and EFS between subgroups with Germinal-Center and Activated B-cell phenotype. Thus, life expectancy of younger patients with aaIPI 2-3 DLB-CL is improved with the early administration of rituximab-supplemented intensive chemotherapy compared with the poor outcome following conventional chemotherapy.

The purpose of the study was to compare telomere length (TL) in peripheral blood progenitor cells (PBPC) collected after two tightly spaced high-dose (hd) chemotherapy courses. We assessed 37 previously untreated lymphoma patients undergoing a hd-chemotherapy program with autografting. They sequentially received hd-cyclophosphamide (CY) and hd-Ara-C, both followed by PBPC harvesting. Both post-CY and post-Ara-C harvests were assessed for TL by Southern blot analysis. In 12 patients, the assay was also performed on purified CD34+ cells. All patients displayed high PBPC mobilization following both hd-CY and hd-Ara-C. In all but one patient, TL was shorter in PBPC collected after Ara-C compared to CY: 7226bp (range: 4135-9852) vs 8282 bp (range 4895-14860) (P < 0.0001). This result was confirmed on CD34+ cells. Platelet recovery in patients receiving post-Ara-C PBPC was significantly slower compared to those receiving post-CY PBPC. In conclusion, (i) administration of tightly spaced hd-chemotherapy courses induces marked telomere shortening on harvested PBPC; (ii) engraftment kinetics seem slower, with delayed platelet recovery, in patients autografted with PBPC suffering marked TL erosion; (iii) long-term follow-up is required to verify whether PBPC with shortened telomeres display defective engraftment stability and/or risk of secondary leukemia; (iv) TL evaluation is advisable whenever new mobilization procedures are developed.

A high-dose (HD) chemotherapy scheme was designed for the collection of large numbers of peripheral blood progenitor cells (PBPC) in lymphoma patients who were candidates for myeloablative therapy with autograft. The scheme included the sequential administration of HD cyclophosphamide (CY) (7 g/m(2)) and HD ara-C (2 g/m(2) twice a day for 6 consecutive days), followed by final consolidation with PBPC autograft. PBPC harvests were scheduled following both HD CY and HD ara-C. To minimize hematologic toxicity, small aliquots of PBPC (

Mobilized peripheral blood progenitor cells (PBPC) are widely employed in the management of adult patients with high-risk non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), though their use in the elderly has received little attention. This study was mounted to assess the feasibility of the mobilization, harvesting, and reinfusion of PBPC in NHL patients aged >60. Twenty patients (median age: 67, range: 61-80) with poor-prognosis NHL entered the pilot study: nine others were discarded for various reasons. Thus, the program was applicable to 69% of potential candidates. Fourteen patients were at onset and six were being treated for refractory disease or relapses. Mobilization was induced with cyclophosphamide 4 g/m(2), followed by 5 micro g/kg per day granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) s.c. until PBPC collection or hemopoietic recovery. Sixteen patients (80%) displayed some signs of mobilization (CD34+: >5/ micro l). Maximum mobilization varied with median circulating CD34+ cells and colony forming units-granulocyte/macrophage (CFU-GM) peaks of 17.2/ micro l (range: 8.1-210) and 1,650/ml (range: 540-62,900), respectively. A median of two leukaphereses resulted in the harvesting of a median of 6.7x10(6) (range: 0.3-33.6) CD34+/kg and 21.1x10(4) (range: 1.2-209) CFU-GM/kg. Intensified therapy with intermediate-dose melphalan, associated or not with mitoxantrone, was delivered with autologous PBPC support to 13 patients and always resulted in rapid and stable hemopoietic reconstitution. The program was well tolerated and no treatment-related deaths occurred. Twelve patients are still alive with a 5-year survival projection of 59%. In conclusion, the results demonstrate the feasibility of using autologous PBPC to support therapy intensification even in elderly patients.

The aim of this study was to investigate feasibility, tolerability and efficacy of rituximab-supplemented high-dose sequential chemotherapy (R-HDS) with peripheral blood progenitor cell autografting as frontline or salvage treatment in patients with advanced non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). Thirty-two patients have been treated: 14 at disease onset and 18 with relapsed or progressive disease. R-HDS regimens included six courses of rituximab. Rituximab was delivered either concurrently with high-dose chemotherapy to exploit the in vivo purging properties of the drug as well as at the end of the treatment plan to target minimal residual disease. All patients treated at disease onset completed their treatment with no life-threatening toxicity, while two toxic deaths due to severe bilateral pneumonia were observed among patients treated due to relapsed or refractory disease. Thirteen of 14 patients treated up-front achieved CR. Among pre-treated patients 10 of 18 achieved CR with better results in patients with relapsed (seven of eight) compared to progressive disease (three of 10). PCR analysis was carried out in indolent lymphoma patients: nine of nine follicular lymphomas and three of six CD5-positive NHL collected PCR-negative peripheral blood progenitor cell harvests. The results of this pilot study show that R-HDS is feasible and effective with acceptable toxicity when used at disease onset. In pre-treated patients this treatment also showed promising results, although the risk of severe infections needs to be considered.

Hematological and extrahematological toxicity of high-dose (hd) mitoxantrone (MITO) and melphalan (L-PAM) as conditioning regimen prior to peripheral blood progenitor cell (PBPC) autograft was evaluated in 113 lymphoma patients (87 at disease onset). Autograft was the final part of a hd-sequential (HDS) chemotherapy program, including a debulkying phase (1-2 APO +/- 2 DHAP courses) and then sequential administration of hd-cyclophosphamide, methotrexate (or Ara-C) and etoposide, at 10 to 30 day intervals. Autograft phase included: (1) hd-MITO, given at 60 mg/m2 on day -5; (2) hd-L-PAM, given at 180 mg/m2 on day -2; (3) PBPC autograft, with a median of 11 x 10(6) CD34+/kg, or 70 x 10(4) CFU-GM/kg, on day 0. A rapid hematological recovery was observed in most patients, with ANC >500/microL and Plt >20,000/microl values reached at a median of 11 and 10 days since autograft, respectively. The good hemopoietic reconstitution allowed the delivery of consolidation radiotherapy (RT) to bulky sites in 53 out of 57 candidate patients, within 1 to 3 months following autograft; five of these patients required back-up PBPC re-infusion due to severe post-RT pancytopenia. Few severe infectious complications were recorded. There was one single fatal event due to severe pancytopenia following whole abdomen RT. Cardiac toxicity was evaluated as left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), monitored by cardiac radionuclide scan. LVEF prior to and after autograft was significantly reduced (median values: 55% vs 46%) in 58 evaluated patients; however, a significant increase to a median value of 50% was observed in 45 patients evaluated at 1 to 3 years since autograft. At a median follow-up of 3.6 years, 92 patients are alive, with a 7-year overall survival projection and 6.7-year failure-free survival projection of 77% and 69%, respectively. We conclude that a conditioning regimen with hd-MITOIL-PAM fits well within the HDS program. It implies good tolerability and reversible cardiotoxicity and it may have contributed to the good long-term outcome observed in this series of patients.

Long-term outcome, after first line intensified high-dose sequential (i-HDS) chemotherapy, was evaluated in 46 patients, aged < or =65 years, with advanced low-grade lymphoma. Seventeen patients had small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), 29 had follicular lymphoma (FL), 10 of them with histologic transformation. I-HDS included: (1) tumor debulking, by 2 APO+2 DHAP courses; (2) sequential administration of high-dose (hd) etoposide, methotrexate, and cyclophosphamide, followed by peripheral blood progenitor cell (PBPC) harvest; (3) hd-mitoxantrone + melphalan with PBPC autograft. Ten FL patients had their PBPC immunologically purged ex vivo. There were two treatment-related deaths; five FL patients had short-lasting response followed by disease progression, five SLL reached a stable PR; overall, 34 patients (74%) reached CR. At a median follow-up of 4.3 years, the estimated 9-year OS and EFS were 84% and 45%, respectively. No significant differences were observed in the OS among patients at low, intermediate or high IPI score, with an estimated OS projection of 95%, 78%, and 75%, respectively. FL had longer survival without evidence of residual disease (9-year EFS: 59%) as compared to SLL patients (8.8-year EFS: 17%); however, both groups had prolonged survival and no need of salvage treatment, as shown by the time to disease progression curve, projected to 66% and 62% for SLL and FL, respectively. The results indicate that hd-approach in low-grade lymphoma: (1) is associated with longer progression-free survival as compared to conventional therapies; (2) may imply higher tumor mass reduction in FL as compared to SLL patients; (3) offers long life expectancy, with potential survival benefits at least for patients at intermediate/high IPI score.

Despite detailed evaluation of disease-associated prognostic factors, little is known about the impact of overweight in autograft programs for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) patients. In order to address this issue, 121 NHL patients were retrospectively evaluated. They had been upfront (92 patients) or in relapse (29 patients) and received high-dose sequential (HDS) chemotherapy including peripheral blood progenitor cell (PBPC) autograft. Body mass index (BMI) was calculated as weight in kilograms divided by the square of the height in meters; overweight was defined as BMI > or = 28. Univariate and multivariate analyses were used to determine the prognostic implication of overweight and other known prognostic indicators on overall (OS) and event-free (EFS) survival for the entire group and overweight and non-overweight (reference) subgroups. With a median follow-up of 3 years, the estimated 5-year OS and EFS for the entire group were 58% and 49%, respectively. Twenty-eight patients (23%) had BMI > or = 28. Their median OS and EFS were 2.2 and 1.4 years, respectively, whereas median OS and EFS for the reference group have not been reached, with a 5-year projection of 65 and 55%, respectively (P < 0.002). On multivariate analysis, the risk of death among overweight patients was 2.9 (CI, 1.3-6.2) times that of the reference group; using EFS as the end point, a similar association between overweight and survival was observed. In conclusion, in high-risk NHL patients undergoing intensive chemotherapy and PBPC autografting overweight is associated with a poorer outcome.
