RESUMEN

INTRODUCTION: Isolated dissection of visceral artery organs is very infrequently reported and when it occurs it mostly affects the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) with abdominal pain as the commonest presenting symptom. However, the best therapeutic strategy in symptomatic patients has not yet been established. AIM: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of conservative, endovascular bare stent and endovascular coil assisting bare stent treatments for patients diagnosed with spontaneous isolated superior mesenteric artery dissection (SISMAD). MATERIAL AND METHODS: We reviewed patients who had SISMAD and received conservative, bare stent and coil assisting bare stent as a primary treatment between 2014 and 2018. Patient demographics, symptoms, angiographic findings and treatment outcomes were analyzed. RESULTS: A total of 62 patients was found to have SISMAD among whom 83.9% (n = 52) were male and 16% (n = 10) were female with the mean age of 52.55 ±7.22 years, range 33-77. 22.6% (n = 14) received conservative, 62.9% (n = 39) endovascular bare stent and 14. Four percent (n = 9) endovascular coil assisting bare stent treatment. The success rate in primary treatment was conservative 78.5% (n = 11), bare stent 97.4% (n = 38), coil assisting bare stent 100% (n = 9). The mean follow-up duration (months) was 28.76 ±12.87. CONCLUSIONS: Endovascular bare stent placement is a safe, effective, and successful treatment in the management of symptomatic SISMAD. The diagnostic imaging result is a key point for planning appropriate treatment especially in patients with tapered vessels, longer dissection lesion, and dissection aneurysm where coil assisting bare stent shows good results. Conservative treatment should be given priority for the asymptomatic patient, but close monitoring is highly recommended.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: To analyze our experience with clinical features and endovascular treatment of visceral artery pseudoaneurysms (VAPAs). METHODS: We performed endovascular treatments on 52 patients (34 men and 18 women) affected by VAPA. These cases were pseudoaneurysms of the celiac axis, superior mesenteric artery, and their branches. Endovascular treatments of VAPA using isolation techniques were performed after failure of conservative treatments. Follow-up was carried out via assessment of contrast-enhanced computed tomography or computed tomography angiography images. RESULTS: The initial technical success rate of endovascular treatment is 100% with only 4 patients rebled during 2-week follow-up. One patient among no rebleeding died of multisystem organ failure 28 days after intervention; thus, 30-day mortality rate was 1.9%. Four patients (7.7%) required secondary interventions because of rebleeding and were successfully treated by reintervention; however, one of the patients died from uncontrolled sepsis 39 days after reintervention. Postembolization syndrome developed in 3 patients (5.8%); one of these patients underwent splenectomy. During follow-up, no change of hepatic function was observed, no bowel ischemia was reported, and VAPA remained absent in all patients. CONCLUSIONS: Endovascular management is minimally invasive and highly successful in treating VAPA. It is particularly useful in poor surgical candidates.

RESUMEN

With spectroscopy, the principle and process of sampling and reconstructing a continuous-time signal are discussed. A symmetrical frequency-finite spectrum function F (omega) is constructed with three modified rise-cosine pulses. Its corresponding time-domain signal f(t) is worked out theoretically. f(t) is sampled with a comb function deltaT (t). By modifying the value of T, Shannon sampling signal is obtained. With Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), the frequency spectrum F(d) (omega) of the sampling signal is figured out. The calculated F(d) (omega) is compared with the constructed F(omega). The processes to reconstruct f(t) with the sampling signal and its digital frequency spectrum F(d) (omega) are discussed. As the result, there is little difference between the calculated F(d) (omega) and the constructed F (omega). The original signal can accurately be reconstructed with the sampling data in time domain, so can with the frequency spectrum F(d) (omega) by FFT. As soon as signal storage is concerned, we can store the sampling data or its digital frequency spectrum.

RESUMEN

Firstly the petal of Crocus sativus L was cultured on the medium that supplemented with different combinations of hormones. The petal-like structures(PLS) were induced on medium, but the induction rates were different in various medium. The highest induction rate of petal-like structures was obtained on the media that was supplemented with NAA (4 mg/L) and KT (8 mg/L). The petal-like structures were subcultured on another media when the structure was produced on the explants and proliferate groups. The later media was used for inducing style-stigma-like structures(SSLS). The induction rate of style-stigma-like-structures in the petal-like structures group is much higher than the rate in the preceding work, and the maximum of style-stigma-like structures produced per explant was 30. The best result of style-stigma-like structures was observed on the petal-like structure groups which came from the third treatment. The differentiation rate of style-stigma-like structures is stable in the subcultures of petal-like structures. The result revealed that the induction frequency of style-stigma-like structures formed on the petal-like structures is higher than that form on the petals of C. sativus L.
