RESUMEN

The impact of multiple reuse on the alterations in internal threads of four different implant analogous composed of different materials (stainless steel (SS), aluminum (Al), titanium (Ti), and zirconia (Zr) by utilizing two die materials at different time durations is of interest to dentists. The spacing between the threads was measured using the impressions created for the interior threads of implant analogs, or replicas by stereomicroscope set to x50 at 0th, 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 12th interval. It was observed that there was decrease in distance between threads 1-2 as the increasing reuse at increasing time intervals in all implants analogs. However the decrease in distance between threads was low in Titanium implants analogs followed by Zircona implant analogs and the decrease was maximum in aluminum implants analogs followed by SS implant analogs. When there was evaluation of distance between threads 3-4 then it was observed that there was reduced decrease in distance between threads 3-4 as compared to threads 1-2 n all implant analogs. Similarly the reduction in distance between threads 5-6 was lesser as compared to threads 1-2 and threads 3-4. There was decrease in distance between threads 1-2 as the increasing reuse at increasing time intervals in all implants analogs. However, the reduction in distance between threads was lowest in Titanium implants analogs followed by Zircona implant analogs.

RESUMEN

Light Amplified Stimulated Emission of Radiation (LASER) therapy has been the subject of numerous researches as an auxiliary method in orthodontic practice. Therefore, it is of interest to assess the clinical evaluation of laser assisted soft tissue procedures for orthodontic treatment. The soft tissue surgical procedures carried out were aestheticre-contouring, gingivectomy, maxillary frenectomy, operculectomy and surgical exposure of impacted canines. The clinical outcomes evaluated in each patient were post-operative pain, bleeding during surgical procedure. In our study, clinical evaluation of outcomes in both categories revealed reduced pain at 1 hour and 24 hour after surgical procedures in patients who underwent surgery with LASER.. Soft tissue Laser can be an alternative to conventional surgery for soft tissue surgeries in orthodontics with better pain relief and reduced bleeding.

RESUMEN

The preoperative serum levels and postoperative serum levels of titanium, cobalt and aluminium from dental implants in order to assess the release of these ions and to assess any risk of toxicity from these ions after dental implant placement is of interest to dentists. It was observed that there was very slight increase in serum concentration of titanium, cobalt and aluminium after 12 months of placement of implants as compared to before placement of implants. However the increase was non-significant statistically. Our study concluded that the use of dental implants does not pose any risk of toxicity of metal ions like titanium, aluminium and cobalt because of very slight non-significant increase in serum levels of these ions 12 months after implant placement.

RESUMEN

The clinical outcomes of bone augmentation substances in immediate dental implant (IDI) placement are of interest to dentists. Hence, we evaluated and compared the effectiveness of L-PRF and autogenous bone grafts in immediate implant placement in tooth extract socket. Hence, assessment of periimplantis pocket depth, assessment of tissue biotype, implant stability and marginal bone loss at one month, three months, and six months follow up was completed. The tissue biotype values at one month, 3 month and 6 month follow up revealed that tissue biotype increased in each category as the time increased in all categories. We found that all three techniques were found to have good clinical outcomes regarding immediate implant placement in fresh tooth extraction socket, however the outcomes were better in the case L-PRF.

RESUMEN

Cemento-osseous dysplasia is a subgroup of fibro-osseous dysplasia commonly invading the tooth-bearing regions of the mandible quite often. These bony pathologies are asymptomatic and are seen on radiographs as an incidental finding. Accurate diagnosis of periapical cemento-osseous dysplasia is very crucial as it will help in the proper management of the patient as the incorrect diagnosis can lead to the unnecessary endodontic treatment of the concerned teeth as it may be misdiagnosed as a periapical pathology. We describe a case of periapical cemento-osseous dysplasia in which a 52-year-old woman had been experiencing discomfort in the right mental area of her mandible for the previous 6 months and had finally sought help at the outpatient department. This case study aims to highlight the significance of making an accurate diagnosis of cemento-osseous dysplasias in the tooth-bearing area.

RESUMEN

The impact of inflammatory response on the biological characteristics of GMSCs has been the subject of studies, with conflicting findings. In order to more fully understand the effects of the localized inflammatory environment, the current study assessed the intensity and differentiating capacity of GMSCs derived from healthy periodontal tissues (H-GMSC) and GMSC derived from inflamed periodontal tissues (I-GMSC) tissues. Cells from every well were taken out and counted using a hemocytometer every three days for a total of 12 days. The findings of the cell proliferation assay, which involved quantifying the cells with the help of a hemocytometer at 0th day, 3rd day, 6th day, and 9th day, are shown. On day nine of culture, there was a considerable (P = 0.02) variation in the rate of multiplication between GMSCs from healthy gingival tissues and GMSCs from gingival tissues having inflammation. Additionally, I-GMSCs had a higher cell concentration on day twelve than that of H-GMSCs. However, there was no significant variance in PDT values comparing GMSCs from healthy gingival tissues and GMSCs from gingival tissues having inflammation (P > 0.05). The mean PDT findings of 66.7 h and 53.4 h have been documented for Healthy-GMSCs and Inflamed-GMSCs, respectively. In addition, compared to GMSCs from healthy gingival tissues, GMSCs from inflammatory tissues had decreased osteogenesis and increased adipogenic potential. To evaluate the efficacy of GMSCs derived from patients suffering periodontitis utilising human models for cell-based treatments, additional study is necessary.

RESUMEN

Endodontists have a major problem when dealing with perforating internal resorption, which is an uncommon condition in permanent teeth. Success in treating a resorbed root can only be achieved if the root is properly diagnosed, removed, and treated. Cone-beam computed tomography was used to locate the resorptive lesion and assess its severity (CBCT). A maxillary canine with significant root perforation owing to internal resorption was successfully surgically treated in this case report.

RESUMEN

In today's world of education, we concentrate on teaching activities and academic knowledge. We are taught to improve our clinical skills. Soft skills refer to the cluster of personality traits, social graces, and personal habits, facility with language, friendliness and personal habits that mark people to varying degrees. Soft Skills are interpersonal, psychological, self-promoted and non-technical qualities for every practitioner and academician, whereas hard skills are new tools or equipment and professional knowledge. Hence, more and more clinicians now days consider soft skills as important job criteria. An increase in service industry and competitive practices emphasizes the need for soft skills. Soft Skills are very important and useful in personal and professional life.
