RESUMEN

Erbium-incorporated silicophosphate glasses are very desirable in principal sectors such as photonics, optoelectronics, lasers, and illuminating diodes. The focus of the current investigation has been on determining how the erbium dopant affects the optical, physical, and structural characteristics of the silicophosphate-based glasses. The pure silicophosphate glasses and doped with various contents of erbium were prepared by the sol-gel process in this work. The noncrystalline character of the glasses synthesized was confirmed by the XRD patterns that were obtained. The optical measurement showed that the addition of trivalent erbium ions resulted in an increase in the refractive index of the samples and a decrease in their energy band gap values. It demonstrated the presence of P-O-P linkage stretching vibration modes that were both symmetrical and asymmetrical, P-O in PO4 bending vibration modes, OH group elongating and flexure vibrations, and P-O-H water absorption in glasses. The theoretical values of the optical basicity (Ʌth) increased from 0.465 to 0.472, while the values of the interaction parameter (A) decreased from 0.218 to 0.214 Š- 3 $$ {\overset{\ocirc }{\mathrm{A}}}^{-3} $$ . Silicophosphate glasses doped with trivalent erbium ions show promise as optoelectronic and optical filter system materials.

The present study investigates the usage of a novel natural dye derived from red algae of Morocco in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) for the first time. The main pigments responsible for sensitizing the semiconductor TiO2 coatings in the red algae were identified as phycoerythrin, carotenoid, and chlorophyll. The efficiency of a DSSC made from red algae was compared to that of a solar cell made from chlorophyll alone. The photovoltaic performance of the DSSC was evaluated through photocurrent density to photovoltage (J-V) characteristic analysis, and the efficiency was found to be 0.93%. To gain insights into its behavior, the absorbance and photoluminescence in a broad range were studied. Both absorbance and photoluminescence exhibited a broad-spectrum range. Additionally, electronic properties, such as HOMO, LUMO, energy gap, and chemical reactivity parameters, were studied using density functional theory (DFT) calculations.

Investigated in this work, Cd1-xZnxSe-mixed ternary compounds were grown by the Bridgman method. Several compounds with zinc content varying in the range 0 < x < 1 were produced between two binary parents, CdSe and ZnSe crystals. Using the SEM/EDS technique, the accurate composition of formed crystals was determined along the growth axis. Thanks to that, the grown crystals' axial and radial uniformity were determined. Characterization of the optical and thermal properties was undertaken. The energy gap was measured using photoluminescence spectroscopy for different compositions and temperatures. The bowing parameter describing the behavior of the fundamental gap with composition for this compound was found to be 0.416 ± 0.06. The thermal characteristics of grown Cd1-xZnxSe alloys were systematically studied. The thermal diffusivity and effusivity of the crystals under investigation were experimentally determined, allowing the calculation of the thermal conductivity. We applied the semi-empirical model that Sadao Adachi developed to analyze the results. Thanks to that, it was possible to estimate the contribution arising from chemical disorder to the crystal's total resistivity.

In this work, a novel experimental investigation of photoluminescence properties of Znq2 thin films co-doped with different concentrations of DCM were performed. The thin films were successfully deposited on glass substrates with different compositions, under high vacuum, by using the vacuum evaporation technique. For all compositions, the photoluminescence was measured at room temperature and also at low temperature in a wide range from 77 to 300 K with a step of 25 K in a high vacuum. The lifetime of the sample studied in real time was also measured using the decay time technique. The results obtained confirm that the doping influences the intensity of the DCM photoluminescence and also shows a complete energy transfer occurred from Znq2 to DCM which may have shifted the photoluminescence peak from Znq2 to the orange wavelength region which is related to DCM. The lifetime of the sample studied in real time was about 4.47 ns for Znq2 and while all the other samples showed two decay time components. As a result, the doping influences the optical properties of Znq2 and makes it a potential candidate for optoelectronic applications.

New experimental results of morphological and optical properties of Curcuma longa dye thin film were investigated. The thin films were deposited by physical vapor deposition technique. Morphological properties were measured using atomic force microscopy technique and they show a granular structure which above there are nanotubes shapes. Photoluminescence of Curcuma longa at low temperature was investigated and discussed for the first time. The temperature effect from 77 to 300 K of Curcuma longa thin film has been shown and luminescence was strongly observed. Photoelectrochemical parameters of the dye-sensitized solar cell based on Curcuma longa have been computed via the finite element method. The power conversion efficiency is about 0.86% obtained from short circuit current, open-circuit voltage, and fill factor of 0.13 mA/cm2, 0.52 mV, and 0.83, respectively. As a result, Curcuma longa dye can be applied to dye-sensitized solar cells.

Logistics sustainability is increasingly becoming a central focus of businesses, when most societies are aware of the influence of industry on both the environment and human health. To address the drawbacks of the way logistics systems have been designed, a new logistics system called Physical Internet has been proposed. This system relies on the creation of hyperconnected logistics systems. It aims to improve in an order of magnitude the way physical objects are transported, handled, stored, supplied, realized, and used to be more sustainable and efficient economically, environmentally, and socially. This paper focuses on the product realization using a hyperconnected mobile production mode in the context of Physical Internet, an open global logistics system. It addresses its dynamic deployment of production modules and resource allocation and sharing. It then proposes a make-to-order bi-objective optimization model which minimizes costs and greenhouse gases (GHGs) related to the product realization of a manufacturer to serve its customers given the availability of the open fabs. Experimental results are presented to identify the computational performance of the established model, as well as the economic and environmental benefits of using the facilities enabled by the PI. Finally, it concludes and provides directions for future research.
