RESUMEN

Recent innovations have focused on the creation of new families that extend well-known distributions while providing a huge amount of practical flexibility for data modeling. Weighted distributions offer an effective approach for addressing model building and data interpretation problems. The main objective of this work is to provide a novel family based on a weighted generator called the length-biased truncated Lomax-generated (LBTLo-G) family. Discussions are held about the characteristics of the LBTLo-G family, including expressions for the probability density function, moments, and incomplete moments. In addition, different measures of uncertainty are determined. We provide four new sub-distributions and investigated their functionalities. Subsequently, a statistical analysis is given. The LBTLo-G family's parameter estimation is carried out using the maximum likelihood technique on the basis of full and censored samples. Simulation research is conducted to determine the parameters of the LBTLo Weibull (LBTLoW) distribution. Four genuine data sets are considered to illustrate the fitting behavior of the LBTLoW distribution. In each case, the application outcomes demonstrate that the LBTLoW distribution can, in fact, fit the data more accurately than other rival distributions.

In probability theory and statistics, it is customary to employ unit distributions to explain practical variables having values between zero and one. This study suggests a brand-new distribution for modelling data on the unit interval called the unit-exponentiated Lomax (UEL) distribution. The statistical aspects of the UEL distribution are shown. The parameters corresponding to the proposed distribution are estimated using widely recognized estimation techniques, such as Bayesian, maximum product of spacing, and maximum likelihood. The effectiveness of the various estimators is assessed through a simulated scenario. Using mock jurors and food spending data sets, the UEL regression model is demonstrated as an alternative to unit-Weibull regression, beta regression, and the original linear regression models. Using Covid-19 data, the novel model outperforms certain other unit distributions according to different comparison criteria.

The quadratic rank transmutation map is used in this article to suggest a novel extension of the power inverted Topp-Leone distribution. The newly generated distribution is known as the transmuted power inverted Topp-Leone (TPITL) distribution. The power inverted Topp-Leone and the inverted Topp-Leone are included in the recommended distribution as specific models. Aspects of the offered model, including the quantile function, moments and incomplete moments, stochastic ordering, and various uncertainty measures, are all discussed. Plans for acceptance sampling are created for the TPITL model with the assumption that the life test will end at a specific time. The median lifetime of the TPITL distribution with the chosen variables is the truncation time. The smallest sample size is required to obtain the stated life test under a certain consumer's risk. Five conventional estimation techniques, including maximum likelihood, least squares, weighted least squares, maximum product of spacing, and Cramer-von Mises, are used to assess the characteristics of TPITL distribution. A rigorous Monte Carlo simulation study is used to evaluate the effectiveness of these estimators. To determine how well the most recent model handled data modeling, we tested it on a range of datasets. The simulation results demonstrated that, in most cases, the maximum likelihood estimates had the smallest mean squared errors among all other estimates. In some cases, the Cramer-von Mises estimates performed better than others. Finally, we observed that precision measures decrease for all estimation techniques when the sample size increases, indicating that all estimation approaches are consistent. Through two real data analyses, the suggested model's validity and adaptability are contrasted with those of other models, including the power inverted Topp-Leone, log-normal, Weibull, generalized exponential, generalized inverse exponential, inverse Weibull, inverse gamma, and extended inverse exponential distributions.

The inverted Topp-Leone distribution is a new, appealing model for reliability analysis. In this paper, a new distribution, named new exponential inverted Topp-Leone (NEITL) is presented, which adds an extra shape parameter to the inverted Topp-Leone distribution. The graphical representations of its density, survival, and hazard rate functions are provided. The following properties are explored: quantile function, mixture representation, entropies, moments, and stress-strength reliability. We plotted the skewness and kurtosis measures of the proposed model based on the quantiles. Three different estimation procedures are suggested to estimate the distribution parameters, reliability, and hazard rate functions, along with their confidence intervals. Additionally, stress-strength reliability estimators for the NEITL model were obtained. To illustrate the findings of the paper, two real datasets on engineering and medical fields have been analyzed.

Dynamic cumulative residual (DCR) entropy is a valuable randomness metric that may be used in survival analysis. The Bayesian estimator of the DCR Rényi entropy (DCRRéE) for the Lindley distribution using the gamma prior is discussed in this article. Using a number of selective loss functions, the Bayesian estimator and the Bayesian credible interval are calculated. In order to compare the theoretical results, a Monte Carlo simulation experiment is proposed. Generally, we note that for a small true value of the DCRRéE, the Bayesian estimates under the linear exponential loss function are favorable compared to the others based on this simulation study. Furthermore, for large true values of the DCRRéE, the Bayesian estimate under the precautionary loss function is more suitable than the others. The Bayesian estimates of the DCRRéE work well when increasing the sample size. Real-world data is evaluated for further clarification, allowing the theoretical results to be validated.

Intestinal failure secondary to short bowel syndrome in pediatrics, is a rare condition with high morbimortality. A follow up multidisciplinary team is necessary to minimize complications and optimize the intestinal rehabilitation. There are no gold standard guidelines for the management of this group of complex patients. The development of clinical guidelines may contribute for an adequate management of patients with intestinal failure and short bowel syndrome. This Clinical Guideline for the Management was developed by 16 experts based on modified Delphi methodology. The meetings were held at the Argentinian Association of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition (Asociación Argentina de Nutrición Enteral y Parenteral); the topics analyzed were definitions, epidemiology, enteral and parenteral nutrition, pharmacological and surgical treatments, and criteria for referring patients to intestinal rehabilitation centers. The document is aimed to provide basic scientific knowledge for medical institutions, health providers, healthcare providers, patients and families.


La falla intestinal secundaria a síndrome de intestino corto en pediatría es una entidad poco frecuente, de alta morbimortalidad. Requiere de un equipo interdisciplinario para su abordaje, lo cual ha demostrado que disminuye la morbimortalidad y aumenta la posibilidad de que los pacientes logren la autonomía intestinal. Existe una falta de evidencia científica en diferentes abordajes de la patología. Consideramos necesario el desarrollo de esta Guía para el Manejo Clínico construida sobre la base de la metodología Delphi modificada, en la Asociación Argentina de Nutrición Enteral y Parenteral, por 16 expertos que se reunieron para discutir y consensuar los principales aspectos de tratamiento clínico. Se analizaron 4 aspectos: definiciones y epidemiología; nutrición enteral, nutrición parenteral; tratamientos farmacológicos y quirúrgicos, y criterios de derivación a centros de alta complejidad. Sin duda este documento será de utilidad para los pacientes, los profesionales y las instituciones, así como para los diferentes financiadores del sistema de salud.
