INTRODUCTION: Cemented hip hemiarthroplasty is a routine surgical option for elderly neck of femur (NOF) fractures. It is uncertain if quality of cementing has any effect on functional outcomes. The aim of this study was to determine if the quality of cementing would affect short term functional outcomes in elderly neck of femur fractures. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Retrospective analysis of 637 single-centre cemented hip hemiarthroplasties from 2014 to 2021 was performed. Each post-operative radiograph was double-read by 2 authors (1 resident and 1 fellowship trained surgeon) to determine quality of cementing via the Barrack grading. Disagreements were reviewed by a third reader. Cement grades were grouped as Optimal (Barrack grade A-B), or Suboptimal (Barrack grade C-D). Functional outcomes were compared using mobility (community- or home-ambulant), assistance required for mobility, and Modified Barthel Index (MBI). Surgical parameters were compared between the groups. RESULTS: There were 429 Optimal and 208 Suboptimal cases of cementing performed. There was no difference in age, American Society of Anesthesiologists score, mobility, assistance required, and MBI score pre-operatively (p > 0.05). Patients in the "Suboptimal" cementing group had a higher Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI) score (p < 0.001). At 1 year post-operation, there was no significant difference between "Optimal" and "Suboptimal" cementing with regards to the proportion of community ambulators (30.2% vs. 25.7%, p = 0.252), walking independence (independent walkers (19.8% vs.17.3%), independent walkers with aids (41.3%vs.42.1%), walker with caregiver assistance (29.2%vs.33.7%), wheelchair-bound (9.6%vs.6.9%), p = 0.478), and distribution of MBI score (81.1%vs.82.2% achieving MBI > 60, p = 0.767). There was no significant difference in the proportion of patients with postoperative delirium (7.9% vs. 5.8, p = 0.324) or 1-year mortality rates (3.5% vs. 2.9%, p = 0.685). Except for stem design (12.2% tapered vs 20.1% collared; p = 0.011), no other surgical parameters were significantly different. The kappa value for inter-reader agreement was "substantial" at 0.727 (95% CI 0.682-0.772) (p < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Quality of cementing in cemented hip hemiarthroplasty for elderly NOF fractures does not affect the short-term functional outcomes. In low demand patients and patients at risk of BCIS, optimal cementing may not be necessary to achieve similar short-term functional outcomes. Further studies should be conducted to determine the effect of sub-optimal cementing on long-term functional outcomes.

Under Taiwan's National Health Insurance (NHI) system, it's crucial for all healthcare providers to accurately submit medical expense claims to the National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA) to avoid incorrect deductions. With changes in healthcare policies and adjustments in hospital management strategies, the complexity of claiming rules has resulted in hospitals expending significant manpower and time on the medical expense claims process. Therefore, this study utilizes the Lean Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) management approach to identify wasteful and non-value-added steps in the process. Simultaneously, it introduces Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools to replace manual operations. After implementation, the study effectively reduces the process time by 380 min and enhances Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) from 69.07 to 95.54%. This research validates a real-world case of Lean digital transformation in healthcare institutions. It enables human resources to be allocated to more valuable and creative tasks while assisting hospitals in providing more comprehensive and patient-centric services.

In recent decades, scholarly interest has grown in the psychological components of happiness. Savoring belief, or the capacity to attend to, appreciate, and enhance the positive experiences in one's life, along with resilience and meaning in life, have emerged as significant predictors of enhanced happiness among diverse populations. This research examined the interrelationships among savoring belief, resilience, meaning in life, and happiness. A sample of 561 students from 75 universities in Taiwan, comprising 361 female and 200 male participants with an average age of 20.88 years, participated in an online survey. The study employed various instruments, including the Savoring Belief Inventory, the Subjective Happiness Scale, the Brief Resilience Scale, and the Meaning in Life Questionnaire. These instruments were translated into Traditional Chinese using a back-translation method and subsequently validated for accuracy by specialists in the field. Analysis of the data using Hayes' PROCESS Model 6 revealed several key insights: (1) savoring belief positively influenced happiness, resilience, and meaning in life with resilience further enhancing happiness and meaning in life; (2) resilience served as a significant mediator in the relationship between savoring belief and happiness; (3) meaning in life significantly mediated the relationship between savoring belief and happiness; (4) a sequential mediation model illustrated the mediating effects of resilience and meaning in life on the relationship between savoring belief and happiness. This study illustrates that, much like a garden requires water, sunlight, and care to flourish, our happiness is cultivated through enhancing our ability to savor the good moments, rebound from challenges, and find deep significance in our lives. We can significantly boost well-being by fostering these qualities-savoring belief, resilience, and a sense of meaning. These findings are particularly relevant for educators, highlighting the critical need to develop these traits in students to promote greater happiness and fulfillment in their lives. Discussions included theoretical implications, educational implications, and avenues for future research.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common malignant brain tumor in adults, which remains incurable and often recurs rapidly after initial therapy. While large efforts have been dedicated to uncover genomic/transcriptomic alternations associated with the recurrence of GBMs, the evolutionary trajectories of matched pairs of primary and recurrent (P-R) GBMs remain largely elusive. It remains challenging to identify genes associated with time to relapse (TTR) and construct a stable and effective prognostic model for predicting TTR of primary GBM patients. By integrating RNA-sequencing and genomic data from multiple datasets of patient-matched longitudinal GBMs of isocitrate dehydrogenase wild-type (IDH-wt), here we examined the associations of TTR with heterogeneities between paired P-R GBMs in gene expression profiles, tumor mutation burden (TMB), and microenvironment. Our results revealed a positive correlation between TTR and transcriptomic/genomic differences between paired P-R GBMs, higher percentages of non-mesenchymal-to-mesenchymal transition and mesenchymal subtype for patients with a short TTR than for those with a long TTR, a high correlation between paired P-R GBMs in gene expression profiles and TMB, and a negative correlation between the fitting level of such a paired P-R GBM correlation and TTR. According to these observations, we identified 55 TTR-associated genes and thereby constructed a seven-gene (ZSCAN10, SIGLEC14, GHRHR, TBX15, TAS2R1, CDKL1, and CD101) prognostic model for predicting TTR of primary IDH-wt GBM patients using univariate/multivariate Cox regression analyses. The risk scores estimated by the model were significantly negatively correlated with TTR in the training set and two independent testing sets. The model also segregated IDH-wt GBM patients into two groups with significantly divergent progression-free survival outcomes and showed promising performance for predicting 1-, 2-, and 3-year progression-free survival rates in all training and testing sets. Our findings provide new insights into the molecular understanding of GBM progression at recurrence and potential targets for therapeutic treatments.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to assess the incidence and risk factors surrounding mental illnesses in patients diagnosed with systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases (SARDs). METHODS: This retrospective cohort study used nationwide, population-based claim data taken from Taiwan's National Health Insurance Research Database (NHIRD) to identify patients certified as having a catastrophic illness for Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Systemic sclerosis (SSc), Dermatomyositis (DM), Polymyositis (PM) or Sjogren's syndrome (SS) from the years 2002-2020. We furthermore calculated the incidence of mental illness in patients diagnosed with SARDs while exploring factors associated with the development of mental illness using multivariable Cox regression analysis shown as adjusted hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). RESULTS: Among the 28 588 participants, the average age was 47.4 (SD 14.9) years, with most participants being female (76.4%). When compared with patients with rheumatoid arthritis, patients with SLE (HR: 1.20, 95% CI: 1.10-1.32), SS (HR: 1.29, 95% CI: 1.19-1.39), and DM (HR: 1.28, 95% CI: 1.04-1.32) showed a significantly increased risk of developing mental illness. Additionally, when compared with patients with rheumatoid arthritis, patients with SLE (HR: 1.32, 95% CI: 1.21-1.44), SSc (HR: 1.20, 95% CI: 1.02-1.41), SS (HR: 1.17, 95% CI: 1.08-1.26), DM (HR: 1.73, 95% CI: 1.44-2.07), and PM (HR: 1.64, 95% CI: 1.32-2.03) showed a significantly increased risk of antidepressant use. CONCLUSIONS: This population-based cohort study revealed that patients diagnosed with SLE, SS and DM had significantly higher risks of developing mental illness when compared with patients with RA.

To prevent athletes from unintentional doping, the anti-doping authorities in Taiwan have launched several sports-prohibited substances inquiry services since 2008. This study aimed to enhance the prevention of sports-prohibited substance misuse by analyzing data collected from major nationwide service systems, enabling the identification of trends in athletes' exposure to drugs and prohibited substances. The study collected over 30,000 data points from three major national anti-doping inquiry systems, spanning from 2008 to 2022. The information of the users consulted products, prohibited substances, and sports disciplines in the data were calculated and categorized. The usage of inquiry systems has shown an increasing trend from 2008 to 2022. Athletes comprised the majority of users (> 40%), significantly outnumbering other user groups (all below 20%). Among the inquiries, Western medicine accounted for the highest percentage (up to 79.6%), and it also contained the majority of the prohibited substances. Interestingly, traditional Chinese medicines had a higher chance (35.9%) of containing prohibited substances, as indicated by the mobile application. The prohibited substances mainly belonged to class S6 stimulants and S9 glucocorticoids. Among the daily medicinal products and nutritional supplements encountered by sports personnel, approximately 30% of them were found to contain prohibited substances. Future educational efforts should focus on raising awareness about traditional Chinese medicines and drugs for the common cold, ADHD, and pain relief, as well as their regulation, to prevent the misuse of prohibited substances.

Microbes are evolutionarily robust organisms capable of rapid adaptation to complex stress, which enables them to colonize harsh environments. In nature, microbes are regularly challenged by starvation, which is a particularly complex stress because resource limitation often co-occurs with changes in pH, osmolarity, and toxin accumulation created by metabolic waste. Often overlooked are the additional complications introduced by eventual resource replenishment, as successful microbes must withstand rapid environmental shifts before swiftly capitalizing on replenished resources to avoid invasion by competing species. To understand how microbes navigate trade-offs between growth and survival, ultimately adapting to thrive in environments with extreme fluctuations, we experimentally evolved 16 Escherichia coli populations for 900 days in repeated feast/famine conditions with cycles of 100-day starvation before resource replenishment. Using longitudinal population-genomic analysis, we found that evolution in response to extreme feast/famine is characterized by narrow adaptive trajectories with high mutational parallelism and notable mutational order. Genetic reconstructions reveal that early mutations result in trade-offs for biofilm and motility but trade-ups for growth and survival, as these mutations conferred positively correlated advantages during both short-term and long-term culture. Our results demonstrate how microbes can navigate the adaptive landscapes of regularly fluctuating conditions and ultimately follow mutational trajectories that confer benefits across diverse environments.

Glaucoma drainage devices (GDDs) are prosthetic-treatment devices for treating primary open-angle glaucoma. Despite their effectiveness in reducing intraocular pressures (IOP), endothelial cell damage (ECD) is a commonly known side-effect. There have been different hypotheses regarding the reasons for ECD with one being an induced increase in shear on the corneal wall. A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model was used to investigate this hypothesis in silico. The Ahmed Glaucoma Valve (AGV) was selected as the subject of this study using an idealised 3D model of the anterior chamber with insertion angles and positions that are commonly used in clinical practice. It was found that a tube-cornea distance of 1.27 mm or greater does not result in a wall shear stress (WSS) above the limit where ECD could occur. Similarly, a tube-cornea angle of 45° or more was shown to be preferable. It was also found that the ECD region has an irregular shape, and the aqueous humour flow fluctuates at certain insertion angles and positions. This study shows that pathological amounts of WSS may occur as a result of certain GDD placements. Hence, it is imperative to consider the associated fluid force interactions when performing the GDD insertion procedure.

BACKGROUND: Although the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is prevalent in the general population, NAFLD risk in newly diagnosed rheumatoid arthritis (RA) has rarely been explored. In this population-based cohort, we examined NAFLD risk in patients with RA and identified the potential risk factors. DESIGN: Retrospective study. SETTING: Taiwan. PARTICIPANTS: 2281 newly diagnosed patients with RA and selected 91 240 individuals without RA to match with patients with RA (1:40) by age, gender, income status and urbanisation level of the residence. OUTCOMES: In this retrospective study using the 2000-2018 claim data from two-million representative Taiwanese population, we identified and compared the incidence rates (IRs) of NAFLD and alcoholic fatty liver disease (AFLD) between RA and non-RA groups. Using multivariable regression analyses, we estimated adjusted HR (aHR) of NAFLD development in patients with RA compared with individuals without RA, with 95% CIs. RESULTS: The incidences of NALFD and AFLD were not significantly different between individuals with RA and without RA during the 17-year follow-up period. However, patients with RA had significantly increased NAFLD risk during the first 4 years after RA diagnosis, with IR ratio of 1.66 fold (95% CI 1.18 to 2.33, p<0.005), but the risk was reduced after the first 4 years. Multivariable regression analyses revealed that aHR was 2.77-fold greater in patients not receiving disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs therapy than in non-RA subjects (p<0.05). Old age, women, low-income status and obesity could significantly predict NAFLD development. CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrated elevated risk of NAFLD in patients with RA during the first 4 years after RA diagnosis, and old age, women, low-income status and obesity were significant predictors of NAFLD.

BACKGROUND: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is complicated by multiple environmental and polygenetic factors. The accuracy of artificial neural networks (ANNs) incorporating the common factors for identifying AD has not been evaluated. METHODS: A total of 184 probable AD patients and 3773 healthy individuals aged 65 and over were enrolled. AD-related genes (51 SNPs) and 8 environmental factors were selected as features for multilayer ANN modeling. Random Forest (RF) and Support Vector Machine with RBF kernel (SVM) were also employed for comparison. Model results were verified using traditional statistics. RESULTS: The ANN achieved high accuracy (0.98), sensitivity (0.95), and specificity (0.96) in the intrinsic test for AD classification. Excluding age and genetic data still yielded favorable results (accuracy: 0.97, sensitivity: 0.94, specificity: 0.96). The assigned weights to ANN features highlighted the importance of mental evaluation, years of education, and specific genetic variations (CASS4 rs7274581, PICALM rs3851179, and TOMM40 rs2075650) for AD classification. Receiver operating characteristic analysis revealed AUC values of 0.99 (intrinsic test), 0.60 (TWB-GWA), and 0.72 (CG-WGS), with slightly lower AUC values (0.96, 0.80, 0.52) when excluding age in ANN. The performance of the ANN model in AD classification was comparable to RF, SVM (linear kernel), and SVM (RBF kernel). CONCLUSIONS: The ANN model demonstrated good sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy in AD classification. The top-weighted SNPs for AD prediction were CASS4 rs7274581, PICALM rs3851179, and TOMM40 rs2075650. The ANN model performed similarly to RF and SVM, indicating its capability to handle the complexity of AD as a disease entity.

With the continued spread of the rise of online teaching, and the massive use of 3C products (computer, communication, and consumer electronics), the cases of academic plagiarism or using others' works as own works caused by inappropriate use of the Internet are occurring all the time. However, very little research has been conducted on the cyber ethical climate in relation to cyber academic dishonesty. This study investigates the structural relationship between cyber ethical climate, cyber self-efficacy, cyber ethical attitude and cyber academic dishonesty, among university and graduate students, and develops a multiple mediation model. A total of 812 university and graduate students from 32 universities in Taiwan completed the online questionnaire. The results of the study show that the multiple mediation model is valid and find that the cyber ethical climate creates a favorable context for organizing members to demonstrate cyber ethical behavior, demonstrating the importance of mutual influence on cyber academic dishonesty between the cyber ethical climate created by teachers and the cyber ethical climate of class peers. Based on these results, we deeply examine the practical implications and make specific recommendations to improve the cyber ethical behavior of university and graduate students.

Background: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a potential rescue therapy for patients with acute cardiopulmonary dysfunction refractory to conventional treatment. In this study, we described the clinical profiles and outcomes of adult and pediatric living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) patients who received ECMO support during the peri-operative period. Methods: From June 1994 to December 2020, eleven out of the 1,812 LDLTs performed at Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital required ECMO support: six for respiratory failure, three for cardiogenic shock, and two for refractory septic shock. Comparison between the survivor and non-survivor groups was made. Results: The survival rate for liver transplantation (LT) patients on ECMO support is 36.4%-40% in adults and 33.3% in pediatrics, while the survival rate per indication is as follows: acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) (50%), cardiogenic shock (33.3%), and sepsis (0%). Shorter durations of LT-to-ECMO and pre-ECMO mechanical ventilation were observed in the survivor group. On the other hand, we observed persistently elevated total bilirubin levels in non-survivors, while none of the survivors had aspartate aminotransferase (AST)/alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels >1,000 U/L. A higher proportion of non-survivors were on concurrent continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Conclusions: Our experience has proven ECMO's utility during the peri-operative period for both adult and pediatric LDLT patients, more specifically for indications other than septic shock. Further studies are needed to better understand the factors leading to poor outcomes in order to identify patients who will more likely benefit from ECMO.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the leading cause of dementia, presenting a significant unmet medical need worldwide. The pathogenesis of AD involves various pathophysiological events, including the accumulation of amyloid and tau, neuro-inflammation, and neuronal injury. Clinical trials focusing on new drugs for AD were documented in 2020, but subsequent developments have emerged since then. Notably, the US-FDA has approved Aducanumab and Lecanemab, both antibodies targeting amyloid, marking the end of a nearly two-decade period without new AD drugs. In this comprehensive report, we review all trials listed in clinicaltrials.gov, elucidating their underlying mechanisms and study designs. Ongoing clinical trials are investigating numerous promising new drugs for AD. The main trends in these trials involve pathophysiology-based, disease-modifying therapies and the recruitment of participants in earlier stages of the disease. These trends underscore the significance of conducting fundamental research on pathophysiology, prevention, and intervention prior to the occurrence of brain damage caused by AD.

INTRODUCTION: To present a case with a history of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) developing central conic protrusion after phacoemulsification cataract surgery, which spontaneously resolved 5 months postoperatively. PATIENT CONCERNS: A 55-year-old female who underwent myopic LASIK surgery 10 years ago presented to the clinic with bilateral cataracts and without ectasia. Following phacoemulsification cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation in the right eye, the patient experienced a significant increase in spherical equivalent and corneal astigmatism. DIAGNOSES: Based on a central conic protrusion on topography examination, surgically-induced corneal ectasia was diagnosed. INTERVENTIONS: Topical lubricants, corticosteroids, and serial follow-up with corneal topography. OUTCOMES: The corneal protrusion gradually resolved over a period of 5 months. LESSONS: For post-LASIK patient who developed corneal protrusion following uneventful cataract surgery with a clear corneal incision, the clear corneal wound may have disrupted the biomechanical stability of the post-LASIK eye, compromising the peripheral stromal integrity. Additionally, postoperative inflammation could have contributed to corneal ectasia. Smaller clear corneal wounds or scleral tunnel entry during cataract surgery in post-LASIK eyes should be considered. Monitoring wound healing and using topical steroids can aid in achieving satisfactory outcomes and reducing the potential vision-threatening complications associated with corneal ectasia.

This study explored the mediation of mindfulness and perceived hope between perceived social support and mental health literacy in university students. Of 568 students (205 males, 363 females, average age 20.97) from 70 Taiwanese universities, tools like the Perceived Social Support Scale, General Health Questionnaire, Mindful Attention Awareness Scale, and State Hope Scale were used, adapted to Traditional Chinese through back-translation. Confirmatory factor analysis affirmed model validity. Hayes' PROCESS Model 6 analyzed the data. The results showed an indirect effect of social support on mental health literacy via mindfulness and hope (B = 0.091, 95 % CI: 0.0613 to 0.1258). Three mediation paths were: (1) mindfulness (B = 0.035); (2) hope (B = 0.052); and (3) a combined effect (B = 0.003). A direct effect of social support on mental health literacy was significant (B = 0.120). The model explained 33.9 % of the variance in mental health literacy. The research underscores the link between social support, mindfulness, hope, and mental health literacy, identifying mindfulness and hope as mediators. It stresses the mediation impact and suggests strategies to boost mental health literacy in university students. Future research should expand to cross-cultural studies, further examine the evolving dynamics of social support, and incorporate both qualitative and experimental methodologies. The inclusion of factors such as alienation, well-being, and resilience can enrich the theoretical framework.

PURPOSE: The present study aimed to propose a modified intra-articular transtendinous looped biceps tenodesis (mTLBT) using a suture anchor and to compare the functional outcomes and incidence of Popeye deformities between biceps tenotomy and mTLBT. METHODS: Medical records of patients who underwent either tenotomy or mTLBT for the long head of the biceps tendon (LHBT) lesion between January 2016 and April 2021 were retrospectively reviewed. The inclusion criteria were patients aged 40-70 years with LHBT pathologies, such as superior labrum anterior to posterior (SLAP) lesions > type II, LHBT pulley system rupture with bicipital instability, and intra-articular LHBT tear. The exclusion criteria were full-thickness supraspinatus tears, frozen shoulder, shoulder fracture, and postoperative traumatic events that affected the operated shoulder. All patients were followed up for at least 1 year. Popeye deformity, bicipital cramping pain, visual analog scale (VAS) pain score, and functional outcome scores (University of California at Los Angeles [UCLA] and American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons [ASES] scores) were recorded. Fisher's exact test and Chi-square test were used for categorical variables, whereas the Mann-Whitney U test was used for nonparametric variables. RESULTS: The mTLBT and tenotomy groups included 15 and 40 patients, respectively. The incidence of Popeye deformity and biceps cramping pain in the tenotomy group (52.5% and 50%, respectively) was significantly higher than that in the mTLBT group (13.3% and 20%, respectively) (p = 0.009 and p = 0.045, respectively). The postoperative VAS, UCLA, and ASES scores were not significantly different between the two groups. One patient in the tenodesis group experienced metallic-anchor pullout. CONCLUSION: mTLBT is an arthroscopic intra-articular top of the groove tenodesis that can be performed completely in the intra-articular space and is especially suitable for patients with an intact or partially torn rotator cuff. This technique is reliable for treating biceps pathologies as it results in similar functional outcome scores, lesser biceps cramping pain, and less frequent Popeye deformity compared to biceps tenotomy. Osteosarcoma is a common type of bone tumor, particularly prevalent in children and adolescents between the ages of 5 and 25 who are experiencing growth spurts during puberty. Manual delineation of tumor regions in MRI images can be laborious and time-consuming, and results may be subjective and difficult to replicate. Therefore, a convolutional neural network (CNN) was developed to automatically segment osteosarcoma cancerous cells in three types of MRI images. The study consisted of five main stages. First, 3692 DICOM format MRI images were acquired from 46 patients, including T1-weighted, T2-weighted, and T1-weighted with injection of Gadolinium (T1W + Gd) images. Contrast stretching and median filter were applied to enhance image intensity and remove noise, and the pre-processed images were reconstructed into NIfTI format files for deep learning. The MRI images were then transformed to fit the CNN's requirements. A 3D U-Net architecture was proposed with optimized parameters to build an automatic segmentation model capable of segmenting osteosarcoma from the MRI images. The 3D U-Net segmentation model achieved excellent results, with mean dice similarity coefficients (DSC) of 83.75%, 85.45%, and 87.62% for T1W, T2W, and T1W + Gd images, respectively. However, the study found that the proposed method had some limitations, including poorly defined borders, missing lesion portions, and other confounding factors. In summary, an automatic segmentation method based on a CNN has been developed to address the challenge of manually segmenting osteosarcoma cancerous cells in MRI images. While the proposed method showed promise, the study revealed limitations that need to be addressed to improve its efficacy.

The purposes of this study were to describe the learning outcomes of students with disabilities in senior high school, to establish a model to explain the effects of personal, family, and school experience factors on the learning outcomes of students with disabilities, and to determine the relationship between post-school and in-school outcomes. There were 496 participants selected in the 2011 and 2012 academic year from the database of Special Needs Education Longitudinal Study. The survey data obtained from questionnaires for teachers, parents, and students were used to conduct secondary analysis. Descriptive statistics such as frequencies and percentages, a PLS structural equation model, and multiple regression were used in this study. The results of this study were as follows: (1) Students with disabilities had the best learning performances in school, and most parents were satisfied with their students' education in school; however, employment performance was the weakest upon leaving school. (2) School experience factors had the greatest influence on the school learning outcomes model, followed by student factors and family factors. (3) In-school outcomes effectively predicted postsecondary education, employment, social adaptation, and satisfaction after leaving school. In conclusion, the results of this study found that personal, family, and school factors have a significant impact on the learning outcomes of students with disabilities, and in-school outcomes can effectively predict postsecondary education, social adaptation, and satisfaction after leaving school.
