RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: The aim: To study the impact of physical exercises of different intensity on the dynamics of intellectual working capacity and mental cognitive processes in students. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The research involved 293 students. The research was conducted in 2 stages. The 1st stage involved the study of the level of intellectual activity of students with sufficient (the experimental group, n = 76) and insufficient levels of their motor activity (the control group, n = 217). The 2nd stage provided for the determination of the dynamics of intellectual activity indicators in students (n = 76) before and after physical exercises of different intensity. RESULTS: Results: It was found that students with sufficient motor activity are characterized by significantly better indicators of intellectual working capacity and mental cognitive processes than students with insufficient motor activity. It was found that low-intensity physical exercises of a recreational nature had a more positive effect on intellectual working capacity in the course of training sessions. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: Organized motor activity and optimal physical exertion both during and after the end of intellectual functioning can directly affect the preser¬vation and improvement of students' intellectual working capacity.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: The aim: Justify the choice of the construction material of dental prostheses, taking into account the clinical picture and concomitant diseases in military personnel and the study of the dynamics of military personnel seeking orthopedic dental care. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: 185 military personnel were examined and fitted with prosthetics in the period from March 2022 to March 2023. Methods: general clinical, content analysis, bibliosemantic, medical and statistical. RESULTS: Results: All patients who came to us for dental care had previously been replaced with fixed metal structures. Of them, 121 people indicated problems related to the use of metal prostheses. From these patients, a risk group of intolerance to prosthesis materials was formed and a search was made for base materials that would be biologically indifferent. For the manufacture of partial removable prostheses, we chose the basic thermoplastic material Acron, manufactured by Roko (Poland), which has high biocompatibility with the tissues of the prosthetic bed. When choosing the structures of partial removable prostheses in patients with various defects of the dentition, we were guided by a small number of clinical visits, which is relevant for military personnel who are on rotation and treated in the hospital. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: Our careful selection of structural material made it possible to prevent complications and produce high-quality removable prostheses in a short period of time. An analysis of the reasons for orthopedic care showed low awareness of the servicemen regarding the need for timely orthopedic treatment.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: The aim: Investigate the factors that influence the tendency of parents to follow the advice of a dentist on the way to improving the dental health of their children and build a prognostic model. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: Materials: we analyzed 406 questionnaires (specially created by the author), which contain the answers of parents of schoolchildren of Poltava. Methods: questionnaires, medical and statistical, modeling. RESULTS: Results: The statistical processing of the questionnaires revealed a number of factors those that affect parents' compliance with the advice of a dentist, increasing or decreasing the chances of it: low sanitary and hygienic awareness of parents; non-observance of hygiene rules by parents; parents do not teach the child to care for the oral cavity;opinion of the parents that only state must take care of children's health; the recommendations of the dentist wasn`t received; child had never visited a dentist for prevention. The operational characteristics of the obtained prognostic model: the area under the curve is 0,762, which indicates a good predictability of the model. Sensitivity is 82,2%, specificity - 79,8%. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The data obtained as a result of our study and the constructed prognostic model: they indicate low sanitary and hygienic awareness of parents, paternalism of their thinking (shifting responsibility to someone, unwillingness to take responsibility), lack of medical and hygienic knowledge, as a result of which they do not apply them to themselves and, of course, to their children. The solution to this problem is possible only through informational and explanatory activities with the involvement of modern methods of communication and people who have passed appropriate training.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: The aim: To obtain the prevalence of postpartum endometritis women and antimicrobial resistance of responsible pathogens in Ukraine. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: We performed a retrospective multicenter cohort study. The study population consisted of all women who had a vaginal delivery or cesarean section in 14 Regional Women's Hospitals of Ukraine. RESULTS: Results: Total 2460 of 25,344 patients were found to have postpartum endometritis, for an overall infection rate of 9.7%. The postpartum endometritis rates were 7.6% after vaginal delivery and 16.4% after cesarean section. Incidence of postpartum endometritis after cesarean section is affected mainly by the mode of delivery (scheduled caesarean deliveries (done before labor starts) - 13.8% and unscheduled caesarean deliveries (done after labor starts) - 22.5%. The predominant pathogens were: Escherichia coli (32.7%), Enterococcus faecalis (13.0%), Streptococcus spp. (12.1%), Klebsiella spp. (10.4%) and Enterobacter spp. (10%). Among the antimicrobial agents tested, the ertapenem, piperacillin/tazobactam, and cefotaxim were the most consistently active in vitro against Enterobacteriaceae in both vaginal deliveries and after cesarean section infections. The overall proportion of extended spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) production among Enterobacteriaceae was 22.8% and of methicillin-resistance in Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) 15.4%. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: Postpartum endometritis and antimicrobial resistance of responsible pathogens presents a significant burden to the hospital system. Postpartum infections surveillance is required in all women's hospitals. This knowledge is essential to develop targeted strategies to reduce the incidence of postpartum infections.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: The aim of our study was to identify the main risk factors for the occurrence of early complications of acute myocardial infarction after cardio-interventional treatment and to evaluate prognostic risk indicators. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: Risk factors of myocardial infarction were determined by copying the case history data and calculating on their basis of the odds ratio and ±95% confidence interval. After it, we made a prediction of the risk of early complications of AMI with cardiovascular intervention by using a Cox regression that took into account the patient's transportation time by ambulance. RESULTS: Results: Thus, the factors that increase the chances of their occurrence were: summer time of year; recurrent myocardial infarction of another specified localization (I122.8); the relevance of the established STEMI diagnosis; diabetes mellitus; renal pathology; smoking; high rate of BMI. Factors that reduce the chances of their occurrence: men gender - in 35%; the age over of 70 - by 50%; the timely arrival of an emergency medical team - by 55%. The factors that increase the chances of their occurrence were: age over 70 years; subsequent myocardial infarction of unspecified site; diabetes mellitus. Using of a Cox regression analysis, it was proved that the cumulative risk of early complications of AMI with cardio-intervention treatment increased from the 10th minute of ambulance arrival at place, when ECG diagnosis (STEMI), presence of diabetes mellitus, smoking and high BMI. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: As a result of the conducted research, the risk factors for early complications of AIM with cardio-interventional treatment were identified.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: Introduction: To date, there are techniques that allow dental surgeons to restore the lost volume of bone mass, but the level of complications during augmentation remains consistently high. One of the main types of postoperative complications is the exposure of bone augmentate and its infection as a result of ischemic or destructive processes in the mucous shreds, which cover the augmentate, resulting from their overgrowth. The aim: The purpose of our research was to increase bone augmentation effectiveness in patients with secondary edentulism and to reduce risk of postoperative complications caused by ischemia of the mucous membranes because of their tension by mathematical simulation of tensile limits and permissible deformation for the mucous membranes of the oral cavity. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: As a research method was selected a two-component Mooney-Rivlin model, taking into account the indicators of elasticity and static strength of flat samples in tension, which allows them to perform hyperprime behavior at small and moderate deformations. For computer simulation of epithelial flap deformation during operation by finite element method we used ANSYS software environment. RESULTS: Results: Since elastic forces are potential, the work of forces does not depend on the way of tension. Only the initial and final states of the sample, i.e. its initial and final forms, play a role. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The flap of 30 × 25 mm can be stretched and thus it is necessary to eliminate the deficit of fabric up to 5 mm wide in the direction of the Y axis (vertical axis). The relative elongation is λ = 25/20 = 1.25. The flap tension first occurs in the y direction.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: Introduction: In the modern world, the problem of non-communicable diseases, which nowadays constitute the main cause of social and economic losses, is extremely topical: the main causes of disability and mortality of the working population are caused by non-communicable diseases. The aim is a comparative analysis of the prevalence and dynamics of the risk factors of the NCDs, and the overall mortality rate between the economically developed country - China and the developing country - Ukraine. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: To achieve the set goal, the method of data analysis was used - the alignment of dynamic rows with the definition of increasing rates, the determination of reliability between two unrelated aggregates, triangulation. Material: annual reports of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine and the National Bureau of Statistics of China. RESULTS: Review: As a result of the study, it was found that with the tendency to reduce the mortality rate, the mortality rate in Ukraine exceeds the rate in China, especially among men (2.5-3 times); the percentage of smoking is 6 times higher among Ukrainian women; an increase in malnutrition is observed in Ukraine, while in China it is constantly decreasing; in both countries there is an increase in the frequency of obesity in both sexes, but in Ukraine the prevalence is 4-6 times higher. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: Thus, using the obtained data, one can conclude that, despite the difference in the level of economic development between countries, behavioral risk factors remain an extremely important problem.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: Introduction: The relevance of scientific research is determined by the significant importance of lifestyle in preserving and strengthening the health of the population especially young people what determines the future of any society. Among the numerous youth lifestyle characteristics, particular attention is paid to behavioral factors, including the presence of bad habits. Data of scientific publications indicate a significant prevalence in student environment of tobacco-smoking, consumption of alcohol and other manifestations of unhealthy behavior, which are powerful factors of the risk of developing non-communicable diseases, injuries and other health disorders. One of the most important tasks is the formation and establishment of a healthy lifestyle among medical students, because in the future they will not only treat patients, but also carry out professional activities for the prevention of diseases and risk factors for their development, correcting and overcoming already existing risk factors. Doctors must be conscious supporter of healthy lifestyle and serve as a role model for their patients. The aim: To identify the features of prevalence of tobacco use, alcohol and energy drinks among medical students and justify ways of counteraction based on the results of own sociological research, scientific literature, WHO program and strategic documents. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: An anonymous questioning was covered 948 students of institutions of higher medical education including 34.5% of men and 65.5% women. It had been used bibliosemantic, sociological and medical-statistical methods. The information base of the study included program and strategic documents of WHO, sources of scientific literature, data of own research. Statistical processing of the obtained results was carried out using generally accepted medical statistics methods using licensed programs (SPSS, STATA, Statistica 10.0 and MS Excel XP). RESULTS: Results: The results of the study indicate a sufficient significant prevalence in the student environment of tobacco, alcohol and energy drinks. Third part of students consumes tobacco, of which 15.2 per 100 respondents are regular smokers with experience, 9.3 per 100 respondents smoked 10 or more cigarettes a day. A new negative trend is the use of hookah by almost half of the interviewed students and consumption of electronic cigarettes (8.5 per 100 respondents), what must be taken into account when substantiating counteraction ways. Three quarters of the respondents consume alcohol. Despite the prevailing consumption of low-alcohol beverages and wine by respondents, every seventh of the respondents consumes strong drinks. The reason for the worrying is the fact that 13.6 ± 4.7 in 100 respondents combine the consuming of energy drinks with alcohol. By 4.9 per 100 students interviewed, energy drink increases the desire to drink alcohol. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The revealed connection between tobacco, alcohol and energy drinks consumption among medical students proves the need for an integrated approach to reduce the prevalence of risk factors in the context of a healthy lifestyle.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: Introduction: In Ukraine more than half of deaths have been caused by cardio-vascular diseases (CVD). Among the able-bodied population, the share of CVD in the structure of causes of mortality is 29,9%. In the structure of causes of mortality among the persons of retirement age, CVDs accounted for 75,9% and exceeded the proportion of neoplasms in 6,5 times. The aim is to analyze of morbidity and mortality rates of diseases of the CVD among the population of Ukraine and Poltava region, to conduct a comparative analysis of data to identify possible ways to improve the situation. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: A retrospective study of morbidity and mortality rates by age, gender and cause (2014-2018) was conducted and the statistical method was used to analyze dynamic (time) series. RESULTS: Review: An analysis of the dynamics of population mortality indicates significant fluctuations in it`s levels over ten years. At the same time, by the method of alignment of the dynamic series, a tendency to a slight decrease in the mortality rate of the population from 17,1‰ to 16,9 ‰ was established. The mortality of the population of Ukraine in 2018 from diseases of the circulatory system was 1000,8 per 100 thousand people. Data on mortality rate in the Poltava region significantly higher than those in Ukraine. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The age structure of the population of Poltava region belongs to the regressive type. The mortality rate among the population of Poltava region is slightly decreasing but remains at a very high level (16,9 ‰). In the structure of causes of death, diseases of the circulatory system are at the first place (70,8%), the second place belongs to neoplasm (13,5%), and third are the external causes of death (4,8%).

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: Introduction: Nowadays, the high level of dental morbidity among children is an urgent medical problem. Healthy lifestyles and sanitary-hygienic upbringing in the family is most important components of the formation of dental health of children. But in order to be able to teach their children, parents need to be themselves knowledgeable about hygiene and prevention, have the necessary skills and desire to instill it in their children. The aim: The aim of our study was to assess the level of awareness of schoolchildren parents about the factors affecting the dental health of their children according to the questionnaire. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The article presents the results of a sociological survey in the form of anonymous polls on a specially designed questionnaire. With the help of the sociological method, 408 questionnaires, which were filled up by parents of students of general school №19 in Poltava, were processed and analyzed. RESULTS: Results: Among the interviewed individuals, we investigated groups of predictors that could increase the parents' awareness of the factors influencing the formation of health; to teach children by parents of the rules of personal hygiene of oral cavity and skills of self-prevention of dental diseases; on factors that lead to proper orthodontic pathology. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: Based on the parents' answers to the factors which form the health of the population, we can conclude that their awareness on this issue is insufficient. The results of the survey show insufficient level of knowledge in the issues of the formation of health and prevention of dental diseases among the respondents. Thus, the necessity to carry out the corresponding work in educational institutions with the involvement of teachers, dental doctors, pediatricians and doctors of other specialties is determined.
