The authors review problems of oxygen regimen of the body under conditions of extracorporeal circulation. Provide the experimental data on the dynamics of oxygen consumption. [Experience in using preserved xenogeneic hepatocytes in the combined treatment of jaundice patients]. / Opyt primeneniia konservirovannykh ksenogepatotsitov v kompleksnom lechenii bol'nykh zheltukhami.

The authors give brief characteristics of the apparatus "subsidiary liver" and describe the mechanism of its work. The method of taking the liver of piglets and isolation of hepatocytes are described. The characteristics of patients are given in who the apparatus "subsidiary liver" was used. Certain parameters of blood were shown to be reduced after using the apparatus "subsidiary liver".

[Initial clinical experience with the use of an auxiliary liver device]. / Pervyi klinicheskii opyt primeneniia apparata "vspomogatel'naia pechen".

The authors developed an artificial liver apparatus that comprised 2 running classifiers of blood or one running classifier and mass exchanger. The functionally active link of the apparatus is a suspension of living isolated xenohepatocytes obtained from the liver of pigs weighing 18-20 kg by a combined enzymatic and mechanical procedure. More than 100 in vivo laboratory experiments and 30 operations were performed in 20 patients with acute and chronic hepatic failure. Three patients died, the remaining showed significantly better biochemical parameters of blood and full recovery or stable remission.

[Design variants of the "auxiliary liver" apparatus]. / Varianty skhemy apparata "vspomogatel'naia pechen"'.

The article describes four design variants of the "auxiliary liver" apparatus which consists of the blood passage fractionators or plasma filters and an original mass transfer device. Indications for using this or that variant of the apparatus have been determined in relationship to the patient's weight and concomitant complications. Clinical examples are given.

[Sterilization of the artificial blood circulation apparatus with ozone]. / Sterilizatsiia apparata iskusstvennogo krovoobrashcheniia ozonom.

Presented in this paper is the sterilization method of the assisted circulation unit. The method has been approved by stand testing and then applied for sterilizing the unit Ae, yeK-5 m when experimental implanting artificial heart. According to the method, ozone in concentration of 5 x 10(-3) moles/1 and with flow rate of 0,5 1/min is passed through an internal circuit of the unit during I h and 15 min. Control wash-out samples from lines have demonstrated complete sterility of the internal circuit. The method makes the sterilization process of such units much easier and may be recommended for clinical application.
