RESUMEN

The purpose of the study was to evaluate and identify patterns of changes in central and cerebral hemodynamics in neonates with low and extremely low birth weight and birth asphyxia, in order to achieve the early diagnosis of disorders of the central hemodynamics and autoregulation of cerebral blood flow, for timely fluid correction and inotropic therapy. Observation data on 44 preterm infants who were treated at the Kharkiv City Perinatal Centre and Regional Children's Clinical Hospital №1 of Kharkiv has been analyzed. Ultrasound control of the central and cerebral hemodynamics needs to be carried out within the first 30 minutes in premature neonates with low and extremely low birth weight who were born with severe asphyxia. This method of the hypotension correction allows to select the volume of fluids and inotropic therapy individually, preventing development of undesirable side effects.

RESUMEN

The impact of gastric resection on the submandibular salivary gland (SSG) state, using histological and histochemical methods of investigation in experiment, was studied up. A relative mass of a SSG after gastric resection conduction have had reduced, and the accompanying changes in stroma were revealed with the gland's secretion enhancement. Essential dystrophic changes in the SSG parenchyma and stroma after gastric resection conduction may cause a pronounced disorders of their function.

RESUMEN

In experiments on 22 white 1.5-month-old rats-males there were studied influence of Hypericum perforatum L. and minerales from Dyovit® on periodont's tissues under periodontits modelling. Examined preparation normalizes level of glicosaminoglicanes in gum, but did not completely show protective effects relative to collagen's fraction. In periodont's bone preparation decreases resorbrtion; increases activity of AlP and in the same time normalizes activity of AcP.

RESUMEN

The distribution of Se in the blood and teeth (in the jaw and femoral bones) was evaluated using a new coefficient of relative radioactivity (RRA), representing the ratio of (75)Se in the teeth (bones) and blood. Changes in all RRA were studied during 1-192 hours after intraperitoneal injection of [(75)Se]selenate in one-month-old rats receiving common fodder; a biphasic pattern of changes was observed, with peaks 6 and 48 h and lowering 24 and 192 h postinjection. The first peak was mainly due to Se adsorption on hydroxyapatite, the second to chemo-adsorption on it and Se binding to protein. In 3-month-old rats receiving common fodder the peak of all RRA was delayed to 12-48 h postinjection, the values decreasing by 192 h. The peak of specific activity (SA) of (75)Se protein in the bones was recorded 24 h and its decrease 192 h postinjection. In one-month-old rats receiving sucrose-casein diet during 2 months all RRA and SA after 6 and 12 h and part of RRA after 24 h were higher than in the control, that is, Se absorption by bones and teeth from the blood decreased.

RESUMEN

Variations of mineral and protein metabolism in calcified tissues were studied using 32P, 45Ca and 35S methionine in the rats on sugar diet and water of different hardness with F and without it. Hard drinking water without F like soft water and water of medium hardness with F affect metabolism in mineralized tissues preventing the development of carious process. Incorporation of 32P and 45Ca to mineralized tissues, specific radioactivity of 32P and 35S methionine of tooth and bone proteins are lower in rats which drank soft water without F. These parameters increase in rats which received hard water without F almost to the level of animals which received water with F. Ways of the effect of Ca2+ Mg2+ and F on protein and mineral metabolism of calcified tissues of rats on sugar diet (including proteins (osteo-induced, etc., which initiate mineralization) and enzymes are considered.

RESUMEN

Examinations of the periodontium, carried out in 350 schoolchildren, aged 12 to 16, in the town of Odessa, included registration of the CPITN, PMA, Green-Vermillion's, and CDL indexes. The findings evidence that adolescents aged 12 to 15 have but few periodontal segments with bleeding gingiva, their PMA indexes are reduced, and hygienic status of the oral cavity is getting better, but by the age of 16 accumulation of dental deposit results in inflammation enhancement. Though girls, whatever their age, take better care of the oral cavity, its status is not much better in them than in boys.

RESUMEN

Metabolism of 32P and 45Ca in the teeth and bones was studied in 140 Wistar rats that received a high-saccharose diet and varying amounts of Ca, Mg and F in drinking water. The water hardness and F content influence 45Ca and 32P metabolism in the teeth and bones and caries development. 45Ca and 32P inclusion into mineralized tissues was decreased in rats fed with the high-saccharose diet as compared to the control animals which received a usual ration. Excessive consumption of Ca and Mg with drinking water was conductive to mineralization. The level of 45Ca and 32P inclusion in these groups was closer to the control. Fluorination of drinking water of varying hardness decreased caries development and increased 32P and 45Ca inclusion into mineralized tissues.
