As a natural polyphenol, curcumin (Cur) has exhibited a range of bioactive properties, including anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and anti-infection properties. However, the chemical instability and low water solubility of Cur hinder its wide application. Herein, Cur-loaded chitosan/lecithin nanoparticles (CCL NPs) were prepared by the electrostatic self-assembly method. The prepared CCL NPs showed a small particle size (122.86 ± 1.53 nm) with homogeneous distribution (PDI = 0.17 ± 0.01). The high EE (79.34 ± 2.93 %) and LC (9.33 ± 0.34 %) indicated that most of Cur was encapsulated in CCL NPs. Meanwhile, the Cur was released from CCL NPs in a quick and sustained way after being exposed to simulated gastrointestinal fluids. The CCL NPs displayed superior anti-oxidant activity than that of free Cur. Moreover, the in vivo pharmacokinetic studies showed that the CCL NPs could lead to a ~ 2.64-fold increase in oral bioavailability compared with that of free Cur. All these findings indicated that the formation of CCL NPs would be a promising platform to deliver Cur in the food industry.

Akkermansia muciniphila (Akk) has recently become popular due to its therapeutic effect on various diseases. However, Akk's high-density cultivation is difficult due to its anaerobic characteristics. Therefore, Akk was cultured with modified brain-heart infusion (M-BHI) to reach 1011 CFU/mL. 1H-NMR determined the metabolites of Akk and validated them by an amino acid analyzer. Compared to the BHI, Akk significantly up-regulated lactate, histidine, fumaric acid, cytidine, threonine, arginine, and hydroxyproline in the M-BHI and significantly down-regulated methionine, trimethylamine, and sarcosine. Regarding pathway enrichment analysis, histidine metabolism, arginine and proline metabolism, cysteine and methionine metabolism mainly regulate differential metabolites. In addition, M-BHI alters the metabolic profile by affecting Akk's involvement in amino acid metabolism remodeling. Changed metabolites showed that Akk fermentation in M-BHI may play a physiological role in regulating immune homeostasis and reducing risk factors related to diseases. Therefore, M-BHI provides a promising reference for Akk cultivation in future industrial preparation. The feces of healthy middle-aged and old people were first transplanted into d-galactose-induced aging mice to construct humanized aging mice with gut microbiota (FMTC) to confirm the antiaging effect of probiotics produced from centenarians. The mouse model was then treated with centenarian-derived Bifidobacterium bifidum (FMTL), Lactobacillus casei (FMTB), and their mixtures (FMTM), and young mice were used as the control. Compared with the FMTC group, the results demonstrated that the probiotics and their combinations alleviated neuronal damage, increased antioxidant capacity, decreased inflammation, and enhanced cognitive and memory functions in aging mice. In the gut microbiota, the relative abundance of Lactobacillus, Ligilactobacillus, and Akkermansia increased and that of Desulfovibrio and Colidextribacter decreased in the FMTM group compared with that in the FMTC group. The three probiotic groups displayed significant changes in 15 metabolites compared with the FMTC group, with 4 metabolites showing increased expression and 11 metabolites showing decreased expression. The groups were graded as Control > FMTM > FMTB > FMTL > FMTC using a newly developed comprehensive quantitative scoring system that thoroughly analyzed the various indicators of this study. The beneficial antiaging effects of probiotics derived from centenarians were quantitatively described using a novel perspective in this study; it is confirmed that both probiotics and their combinations exert antiaging effects, with the probiotic complex group exhibiting a larger effect.

INTRODUCTION: Recent research on the gut deepens people's understanding of the role of gut microbe-metabolites in longevity. However, most of the longevity population is female, and the gut microbe-metabolites associated with longevity in women remain unknown. Here, we hypothesize that the gut microbe-metabolite levels differed between the longevity women (LW, age ≥90) and the elderly women (EW, 60 < age <90). METHODS: We performed a cross-sectional study of 22 women in Guangxi longevity areas. 16S rRNA full-length sequencing, bioinformatic analysis, and nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectra were determined to analyze the gut microbiota, microbial pathways, and fecal metabolites. We evaluated significant differences and relationships in gut microbe-metabolites and microbial pathways using the Mann-Whitney test and Spearman correlation, respectively. RESULTS: The EW experienced gut dysbiosis characterized by a higher Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes (F/B) value. The LW showed a higher abundance of Bacteroides and Alistipes, which might support health maintenance. Moreover, LW enriched alanine, aspartate, and glutamate metabolism, histidine metabolism, and pyruvate metabolism, leading to major changes in histidine, fumaric acid, acetate, valine, and aspartate. Interestingly, the most valuable metabolic pathway based on differential fecal metabolites confirmed the KEGG microbial pathway "alanine, aspartate, and glutamate metabolism" enriched in LW. Impressively, Bacteroides and Alistipes were positively correlated with alanine, aspartate, and glutamate metabolism, thus improving the level of aspartate, which could be a particular pathway related to longevity. CONCLUSION: The enriched gut genus and microbial pathways in LW showed a significant correlation, which might mediate the production of metabolites related to longevity.

The surface defect detection of industrial products has become a crucial link in industrial manufacturing. It has a series of chain effects on the control of product quality, the safety of the subsequent use of products, the reputation of products, and production efficiency. However, in actual production, it is often difficult to collect defect image samples. Without a sufficient number of defect image samples, training defect detection models is difficult to achieve. In this paper, a defect image generation method DG-GAN is proposed for defect detection. Based on the idea of the progressive generative adversarial, D2 adversarial loss function, cyclic consistency loss function, a data augmentation module, and a self-attention mechanism are introduced to improve the training stability and generative ability of the network. The DG-GAN method can generate high-quality and high-diversity surface defect images. The surface defect image generated by the model can be used to train the defect detection model and improve the convergence stability and detection accuracy of the defect detection model. Validation was performed on two data sets. Compared to the previous methods, the FID score of the generated defect images was significantly reduced (mean reductions of 16.17 and 20.06, respectively). The YOLOX detection accuracy was significantly improved with the increase in generated defect images (the highest increases were 6.1% and 20.4%, respectively). Experimental results showed that the DG-GAN model is effective in surface defect detection tasks.

A high-compliance dietary intervention was conducted for 2 weeks in adults aged 50 years and older to investigate the preventing aging effects of a polyphenol-probiotic-enhanced diet (P-diet) by using inflammatory biological age (IBA). Following the P-diet, levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-10, and C-reactive protein were reduced. These effects were accompanied by a significant increase in the richness of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium and decrease in CAG_56, as well as an increase in butyrate and acetate and decrease in lysine, uracil, and valine. We optimized a model by a back propagation artificial neural network to evaluate the degree of aging, with an R2 of 0.68. After the P-diet intervention, IBA was younger than chronological age and the inflammatory aging potential (Δage) was observably reduced by 90.12%, with change in Δage having a direct negative association with Akkermansia. Overall, P-diet may alleviate chronic low-grade inflammation and thus prevent the procession of inflammatory aging.

With an ageing population, healthy longevity is becoming an important scientific concern. The longevity phenomenon is closely related to the intestinal microflora and is highly complicated; it is challenging to identify and define the core gut microbiota associated with longevity. Therefore, in this study, 16S rRNA sequencing data were obtained from a total of 135 faecal samples collected as part of the latest sampling and pre-collection initiative in the Guangxi longevity area, and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) was used to find a mediumpurple3 network module significantly associated with the Guangxi longevity phenomenon. Five core genera, namely, Alistipes, Bacteroides, Blautia, Lachnospiraceae NK4A136 group, and Lactobacillus, were identified via network analysis and random forest (RF) in this module. Two potential probiotic strains, Lactobacillus fermentum and Bacteroides fragilis, were further isolated and screened from the above five core genera, and then combined and used as an intervention in naturally ageing mice. The results show a change in the key longevity gut microbiota in mice toward a healthy longevity state after the intervention. In addition, the results show that the probiotic combination effectively ameliorated anxiety and necrosis of hippocampal neuronal cells in senescent mice, improving their antioxidant capacity and reducing their inflammation levels. In conclusion, this longer-term study provides a new approach to the search for longevity hub microbiota. These results may also provide an important theoretical reference for the healthification of the intestinal microflora in the general population, and even the remodelling of the structure of the longevity-state intestinal microflora.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of different dietary fiber compounds (DFCs) on characteristic human flora and their metabolites mediated by the longevity dietary pattern analyzed by in vitro fermentation. The results show that DFC1 (cereal fiber) increased the level of Lactobacillus (p < 0.05), DFC2 (fruit and vegetable and cereal fiber) promoted the growth of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium more significantly than DFC3 (fruit and vegetable fiber) (p < 0.01), and all three DFCs decreased the level of Escherichia coli (p < 0.05). The metabolomic analysis showed that there was variability in the metabolites and the metabolic pathways of different DFCs. The redundancy analysis revealed that the fiber content was positively correlated with Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Bacteroides, acetic acid, butyric acid, propionic acid, lactic acid, and betaine, and negatively correlated with Escherichia coli, succinic acid, alanine, choline, aspartic acid, and α-glucose. Overall, this study found that different DFCs have different positive correlations on characteristic human flora and metabolites, and DFC2 is more favorable to the proliferation of the intestinal beneficial genera Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium after in vitro fermentation, having a probiotic role in glucose, amino acid, and lipid metabolisms. This study may provide a theoretical reference for the search of optimal dietary fiber combination strategies mediated by longevity dietary pattern.

In the protein nutrition strategy of middle-aged and elderly people, some believe that low protein is good for health, while others believe high protein is good for health. Facing the contradictory situation, the following hypothesis is proposed. There is a process of change from lower to higher ratio of protein nutritional requirements that are good for health in the human body after about 50 years of age, and the age at which the switch occurs is around 65 years of age. Hence, in this study, 50, 25-month-old male rats were randomly divided into five groups: Control (basal diet), LP (low-protein diet with a 30% decrease in protein content compared to the basal diet), HP (high-protein diet with a 30% increase in protein content compared to the basal diet), Model 1 (switched from LP to HP feed at week 4), and Model 2 (switched from LP to HP feed at week 7). After a total of 10 weeks intervention, the liver and serum samples were examined for aging-related indicators, and a newly comprehensive quantitative score was generated using principal component analysis (PCA). The effects of the five protein nutritional modalities were quantified in descending order: Model 1 > HP > LP > Control > Model 2. Furthermore, the differential metabolites in serum and feces were determined by orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis, and 15 differential metabolites, significantly associated with protein intake, were identified by Spearman's correlation analysis (p < 0.05). Among the fecal metabolites, 10 were positively correlated and 3 were negatively correlated. In the serum, tyrosine and lactate levels were positively correlated, and acetate levels were negatively correlated. MetaboAnalyst analysis identified that the metabolic pathways influenced by protein intake were mainly related to amino acid and carbohydrate metabolism. The results of metabolomic analysis elucidate the mechanisms underlying the preceding effects to some degree. These efforts not only contribute to a unified protein nutrition strategy but also positively impact the building of a wiser approach to protein nutrition, thereby helping middle-aged and older populations achieve healthy aging.

As centenarians provide a paradigm of healthy aging, investigating the comprehensive metabolic profiles of healthy centenarians is of utmost importance for the pursuit of health and longevity. However, relevant reports, especially studies considering the dietary influence on metabolism, are still limited, mostly lacking the guidance of a model of healthy aging. Therefore, exploring the signatures of the integrative metabolic profiles of the healthy centenarians from a famous longevous region, Bama County, China, should be an effective way. The global metabolome in urine and the short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in the feces of 30 healthy centenarians and 31 elderly people aged 60−70 from the longevous region were analyzed by non-targeted metabolomics combined with metabolic target analysis. The results showed that the characteristic metabolites related to longevity were mostly summarized into phosphatidylserine, lyso-phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylinositol, bile acids, and amino acids (p < 0.05). Six metabolic pathways were found significant relevant to longevity. Furthermore, acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, valeric acid, and total SCFA were significantly increased in the centenarian group (p < 0.05) and were also positively associated with the dietary fiber intake (p < 0.01). It was age-accompanied and diet-associated remodeling of phospholipid, amino acid, and SCFA metabolism that expressed the unique metabolic signatures related to exceptional longevity. This metabolic remodeling is suggestive of cognitive benefits, better antioxidant capacity, the attenuation of local inflammation, and health-span-promoting processes, which play a critical and positive role in shaping healthy aging.

A series of previous studies by our team has shown that the Guangxi longevity dietary pattern contributes to the improvement of human health, but the role of dietary fiber compounds (DFC) in the anti-aging of this dietary pattern has not been studied in depth. Thus, mice were fed with 5%, 15%, and 30% of the characteristic dietary fiber compound (CDFC) (compounded according to the longevity dietary pattern) for 8 weeks, and their learning memory capacity, antioxidant capacity, and inflammatory markers, as well as typical microorganisms in the intestinal tract were analyzed to investigate the anti-aging effects of the CDFC under the Guangxi longevity dietary pattern on naturally aging mice. The results showed that CDFC had a bidirectional effect on body weight regulation; increased brain, spleen, and cardiac indices, of which the medium dose was the best. Meanwhile, CDFC also had a maintenance and improvement effect on learning and memory ability in aging mice, as well as improved antioxidant capacity and reduced inflammation level. The neuronal cell necrosis in the hippocampus of mice was effectively alleviated. The expression of Escherichia coli and Bacteroides was significantly reduced, and the expression of Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus increased. In addition, the optimal amount of CDFC added from the level of experimental animals was in a certain interval above and below 15%. The combined results indicated that CDFC mediated by the Guangxi longevity dietary pattern had significant anti-aging effects, thus theoretically proving that dietary fiber compound contributes to human longevity.

Health and longevity populations have distinct metabolic and nutrient intake profiles. However, the relationship between biomarkers of longevity-related metabolites and dietary nutrient intake profiles, as well as metabolic markers associated with longevity features, have not been fully elucidated. Therefore, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR)-based plasma metabolomics profiling was conducted in the present study to identify potential metabolites which can be used as specific markers for the evaluation of healthy aging. Plasma samples were obtained from centenarians and nonagenarians from the longevous region, and elderly participants aged 60-89 from the longevous region, as well as a low centenarian ratio region. The results showed that participants from longevous regions exhibited higher plasma levels of citrate, tyrosine, choline, carnitine, and valine, as well as lower contents of VLDL, lactate, alanine, N-acetyl glycoprotein (NAG), trimethylamine oxide (TMAO), α-glucose, ß-glucose, and unsaturated lipids. The differential plasma metabolites were associated with an alteration in glycolysis/gluconeogenesis; aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis; alanine, aspartate, and glutamate metabolism; and phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan biosynthesis in participants from longevous regions. The signature metabolites were associated with higher dietary fiber intake, as well as lower energy and fat intake. The results of the present study demonstrate key longevity signature metabolites in plasma, and the dietary patterns identified provide a basis for further health and longevity research.

The phenomenon of longevity in Guangxi of China proved to be closely relevant to its specific dietary habits, but the exact effects of this diet on health remain to be explored. In this work, fourteen screened volunteers with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk followed a novel dietary pattern derived from centenarians of Guangxi, China for 2 weeks, then the effects of diet on human health were explored by measuring the health metrics and fecal metabolites. The results showed that the short-term dietary intervention significantly decreased the body weight, body mass index (BMI), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c), mean systolic blood pressure (SBP), and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) levels, while it significantly increased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) levels. Orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) indicated a distinct separation in the fecal metabolic profiles of volunteers before and after the intervention. Nine of these metabolites showed significant differences, including two metabolites increased (butyrate and citrulline), seven metabolites decreased (threonine, choline, glycine, aspartate, alanine, N-acetylglutamic acid and lysine). Pathway and enrichment analysis showed that the reduction in CVD risk by dietary intervention mainly affected five pathways, which include arginine biosynthesis; aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis; glycine, serine and threonine metabolism; alanine, aspartate and glutamate metabolism; and valine, leucine and isoleucine biosynthesis. Herein, the Guangxi longevity dietary pattern can provide a feasible healthy diet strategy for reducing the CVD risk and human beings. Background: The pursuit of health and longevity is the eternal theme of humanity. Guangxi has a remarkable phenomenon of longevity in long-lived regions and ranks with the highest number of longevity villages in China, thus providing a natural advantage for health longevity research. Methods: In this study, we selected 117 natives of a longevity area in Guangxi, covering a large age range (38-118 years old) as subjects to measure peripheral leukocyte telomere length (LTL). Nineteen physical examination indicators and two inflammatory factor levels were measured. Results: Pearson's analysis revealed a significant negative correlation between age and LTL (r = -0.3694, p = 0.003), as well as alanine aminotransferase, albumin, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, γ-glutamyltransferase, triglycerides, Interleukin-10, and tumor necrosis factor type-α. Systolic blood pressure and blood urea nitrogen were positively correlated with age. In addition, LTL decreased in people aged 38-89 years, and an upward trend was observed in people aged older than 90 years. Conclusions: Longevity individuals have characteristics, such as longer LTL, good hepatic function, and lower triglycerides and inflammation levels.

Dietary intervention could modulate age-related neurological disorders via the gut-brain axis. The potential roles of a probiotic and the dietary fiber complex (DFC) on brain and gut function in aged mice were investigated in this study. Lactobacillus casei LTL1361 and DFC were orally administrated for 12 weeks, and the learning and memory ability, as well as the oxidative parameters, inflammatory markers, gut barrier function and microbial metabolite short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), were investigated. LTL1361 and DFC supplementation ameliorated cognitive ability, attenuated oxidative stress in brain and inflammation in serum and colon, ameliorated gut barrier function, and increased the SCFA concentrations and gene expression of SCFA receptors. The protective effect was more significantly enhanced in aged mice treated with the combination of LTL1361 and DFC than treated with LTL1361 or DFC alone. These results could be associated with the protected morphology of pyramidal nerve cells in hippocampus of mice brain and the downregulation of apoptosis marker caspase-3 in brain and upregulation of tight junction proteins in small intestine and colon. The results indicated that Lactobacillus casei LTL1361 and DFC alleviated age-related cognitive impairment, as well as protected brain and gut function. Lactobacillus casei LTL1361 and DFC might be used as novel and promising antiaging agents in human.

Introduction: Recent evidence supports a role for the gut microbe-metabolites in longevity. However, the phenomenon of hypertension is more common in the longevity area and whether hypertension is associated with longevity remains unclear. Here, we hypothesize that the levels of gut microbiota, SCFAs, and urine metabolites were different between hypertension elderly and hypertension longevity. Methods: We recruited 46 elderly volunteers from Donglan County, Guangxi, and 32 were selected and included in the experiment. The subjects with hypertension were divided into two groups according to age, Hypertension Elderly (HTE, aged 70.5 ± 8.59, n = 19) and Hypertension Longevity (HTL, aged 100 ± 5.72, n = 13). The gut microbiota, SCFAs, and urine metabolites were determined by three-generation 16S rRNA full-length sequencing, GC-MS, and 1H-NMR, respectively. Results: Compared with the HTL group, the HTE group had higher levels of hypertension-related genera Klebsiella and Streptococcus, while having lower levels of the SCFA-producing genera Bacteroides, Faecalibacterium, and Alistipes. Based on LEFse analysis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Lactobacillus gasseri, Streptococcus salivarius, Ruminococcus, Actinomyces, Rikenellaceae, f_Saccharimonadaceae, Clostridium perfringens, and Bacteroids, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Parabacteroides, Alistipes were biomarkers that showed significant differences between the groups. In addition, the microbial pathways associated with K. pneumoniae and E. coli may promote hypertension, while A. muciniphila may play a role in reversing the development of hypertension in long-lived elderly. Metabolomics revealed that HTL contained a lower concentration of fecal acetate and propionate than HTE, while it contained a higher concentration of serum acetate and urine acetate. Furthermore, their immune cells exhibited no significant changes in SCFAs receptors. Conclusion: Although long-lived elderly have extremely high systolic blood pressure, their unique gut microbiota composition and efficient acetate absorption in the colon may offset the damages caused by hypertension and maintain healthy homeostasis.

The gut microbiota structure has been proposed to be involved in longevity. In this study, trajectories of age-related changes in gut microbiota were analyzed by comparing the gut microbiota composition from long-lived families. A specific bacterial community pattern and signature taxa of long-lived people were found in long-lived families, such as the enrichment of Enterobacteriaceae in all age groups and the higher abundances of Christensenellaceae, Verrucomicrobiaceae, Porphyromonadaceae, Rikenellaceae, Mogibacteriaceae, and Odoribacteraceae in long-lived elderly and the positive correlation between them. The cumulative abundance of the core microbiota was approximately stable along with age, but the genera and species in the core microbiota were rearranged with age, especially in Ruminococcaceae and Lachnospiraceae. Compared with the control group, the proportions of Lachnospiraceae, Roseburia, and Blautia were significantly higher in participants from the long-lived village, but their abundances gradually decreased along with age. Based on functional predictions, the proportions of pathways related to short-chain fatty acid metabolism, amino acid metabolism, and lipoic acid metabolism were significantly higher in the long-lived elderly compared with the offspring group. The trajectory of gut microbiota composition along with age in participants from long-lived families might reveal potential health-promoting metabolic characteristics, which could play an important role in healthy aging.

Probiotic intake has been shown to improve certain physiological health indicators. We aimed to examine effects of Lactobacillus casei LTL1879, obtained from long-lived elderly volunteers, on blood biochemical, oxidative, and inflammatory markers and gut microbiota in twenty healthy, young volunteers. Volunteers were randomly divided into equal probiotic and placebo groups and changes in blood biochemical indicators, oxidative and inflammatory markers, and gut microbiota were examined after three weeks of probiotic intervention. The probiotic group's antioxidant levels were significantly enhanced post-intervention. Total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) levels were significantly increased (p < 0.0001), while malondialdehyde (MDA) levels decreased (p < 0.05), and total superoxide dismutase (T-SOD) levels increased, but with no significant difference. In addition, Interleukin-10 (IL-10) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) levels were significantly up-regulated and down-regulated (p < 0.05, respectively). Escherichia coli, Enterococcus, and Bacteroides expression was significantly reduced (p < 0.05), while Clostridium leptum, Bifidobacterium, and Lactobacillus expression increased (p < 0.05). Volunteer health status was quantified using principal components and cluster analysis, indicating that the probiotic group's overall score was higher than that of the placebo group. The results of this pilot study suggest L. casei LTL 1879 can significantly improve specific immune, oxidative, and gut microbiota characteristics related to health factors.

B. longum LTBL16 is a potential probiotic strain that was isolated from healthy centenarians in Bama, China. In vitro experiments show that B. longum LTBL16 has a strong antioxidant activity and the complete genome of B. longum LTBL16 was sequenced in this work. The genome consists of one 2,430,682â¯bp circular chromosome that is plasmid free. The circular chromosome has a GC content of 61.23% and contains 2071 coding sequences (CDSs), 4 rRNA manipulators and 55 tRNA coding genes. Genetic analysis showed that at least five protein-coding genes were associated with antioxidant activity, and the abundance of these genes may be related to free radical scavenging rates and oxygen tolerance. In addition, the safety of B. longum LTBL16 was evaluated using a virulence factor database and antibiotic resistance gene database. The results indicate that B. longum LTBL16 has the good potential for the development and utilization as a probiotic.

Growth and differentiation factor 11 (GDF11) is a member of the transforming growth factor ß superfamily. Previous studies have shown that GDF11 decreases with age and has antiaging effects; however, such reports are controversial. We choose 152 subjects covering a large age range (2 hours to 75 years) to measure serum GDF11. Twenty-two hematological variables and 13 biochemical values were measured. Pearson's analysis found a significant correlation between GDF11 and age (p = .0000, r = .4898), as well as serum creatinine, uric acid, triglycerides, red blood cell count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and platelet volume distribution width. GDF11 negatively correlated with aspartate transaminase, white blood cell count, platelet count, lymphocyte count, monocyte count, mean platelet volume, and plateletcrit. Interestingly, we found GDF11 increases in people aged 20-30 years, holds steady in people aged 30-50 years, and increases in people older than 50 years. The results suggest that GDF11 serves different roles along the life span. The current actual evidence supports that GDF11 is helpful to promote aging.
