RESUMEN

Calcium-induced agglomeration of anaerobic granular sludge bed (AGSB) has become a critical factor in performance decline of calcified anaerobic reactors. However, the agglomeration process of AGSB and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear and elusive. This study delved into the evolution of calcified AGSB, and four typical states of normal AGSB (Nor-AGSB), calcified dispersed AGSB (Dis-AGSB), calcified dimeric AGSB (Dim-AGSB), and calcified polymeric AGSB (Pol-AGSB) were characterized. It was found that the minimum transport velocity of Dis-AGSB was 3.14-3.79 times higher than that of Nor-AGSB, and surpassed both the superficial velocity and the bubble-induced wake velocity. This led to the sedimentation of AGS at the bottom of reactor, resulting in stable contacts with each other. Solid fillers between AGS, namely cement, were observed within Dim-AGSB and Pol-AGSB, and could be classified as tightly- and loosely- bonded cement (T- and L-cement). Further analysis revealed that T-cement was rich in extracellular polymeric substances and intertwining pili/flagella, serving as the primary driving force for robust inter-AGS adhesion. While the L-cement was primarily in the form of calcite precipitation, and blocked the convective mass transfer pathways in Pol-AGSB, leading to the decreased convective mass transfer capacity. The critical distance between calcite and AGS was further revealed as 5.33 nm to form stable initial adhesion. Consequently, the agglomeration mechanism involving the evolution of AGSB was proposed as calcium-induced sedimentation, calcium-induced adhesion, and calcium-induced stasis in order. This study is expected to offer deep insight into the calcium-induced agglomeration especially from the overlooked perspective of AGSB, and provides feasible control strategies to manage the pressing calcification issues in engineering applications.

This paper proposes a novel adaptive variable power sliding mode observer-based model predictive control (AVPSMO-MPC) method for the trajectory tracking of a Mecanum-wheeled mobile robot (MWMR) with external disturbances and model uncertainties. First, in the absence of disturbances and uncertainties, a model predictive controller that considers various physical constraints is designed based on the nominal dynamics model of the MWMR, which can transform the tracking problem into a constrained quadratic programming (QP) problem to solve the optimal control inputs online. Subsequently, to improve the anti-jamming ability of the MWMR, an AVPSMO is designed as a feedforward compensation controller to suppress the effects of external disturbances and model uncertainties during the actual motion of the MWMR, and the stability of the AVPSMO is proved via Lyapunov theory. The proposed AVPSMO-MPC method can achieve precise tracking control while ensuring that the constraints of MWMR are not violated in the presence of disturbances and uncertainties. Finally, comparative simulation cases are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.

BACKGROUND: Chemotherapy, whilst treating tumours, can also lead to numerous adverse reactions such as nausea and vomiting, fatigue and kidney toxicity, threatening the physical and mental health of patients. Simultaneously, misuse of chemotherapeutic drugs can seriously endanger patients' lives. Therefore, to maintain the safety of chemotherapy for cancer patients and to reduce the incidence of adverse reactions to chemotherapy, many guidelines state that a comprehensive assessment of the cancer patient should be conducted and documented before chemotherapy. This recommended procedure, however, has yet to be extensively embraced in Chinese hospitals. As such, this study aimed to standardise the content of pre-chemotherapy assessment for cancer patients in hospitals and to improve nurses' adherence to pre-chemotherapy assessment of cancer patients by conducting a national multi-site evidence implementation in China, hence protecting the safety of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and reducing the incidence of adverse reactions to chemotherapy in patients. METHODS: The national multi-site evidence implementation project was launched by a JBI Centre of Excellence in China and conducted using the JBI approach to evidence implementation. A pre- and post-audit approach was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the project. This project had seven phases: training, planning, baseline audit, evidence implementation, two rounds of follow-up audits (3 and 9 months after evidence implementation, respectively) and sustainability assessment. A live online broadcast allowed all participating hospitals to come together to provide a summary and feedback on the implementation of the project. RESULTS: Seventy-four hospitals from 32 cities in China participated in the project, four withdrew during the project's implementation, and 70 hospitals completed the project. The pre-and post-audit showed a significant improvement in the compliance rate of nurses performing pre-chemotherapy assessments for cancer patients. Patient satisfaction and chemotherapy safety were also improved through the project's implementation, and the participating nurses' enthusiasm and belief in implementing evidence into practice was increased. CONCLUSION: The study demonstrated the feasibility of academic centres working with hospitals to promote the dissemination of evidence in clinical practice to accelerate knowledge translation. Further research is needed on the effectiveness of cross-regional and cross-organisational collaborations to facilitate evidence dissemination.

In this study, a simple, green, and low-cost room temperature synthesis of broccoli-like silver nanoflowers (AgNF) with a particle size of about 300-500 nm was developed using plant-derived caffeic acid as a reducing agent and polyvinylpyrrolidone as a dispersant under ultrasound assistance. The flower clusters covered by small nanocrystals of 20-50 nm significantly enhance the electromagnetic field signals. AgNF was deposited on the surface of silicon wafers as a surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy sensor for the detection of probe molecules such as rhodamine 6G (R6G) and malachite green with high sensitivity, homogeneity, and reproducibility. AgNF was deposited on cotton fabrics in the form of composites to catalyze the degradation of dye pollutants such as R6G, MG, and methyl orange in the presence of sodium borohydride. 0.1 g of AgNF/cotton fabric could assist 15 mmol/L NaBH4 to achieve over 90% degradation of various dyes as well as a high concentration of dyes in 12 min with good reusability and recyclability. The AgNF synthesized in this work can not only monitor the type and amounts of pollutants (dyes) in wastewater but also catalyze the rapid degradation of dyes, which is expected to be valuable for industrial applications.

"Heteromorphic self-incompatibility" (HetSI) in plants is a mechanism of defense to avoid self-pollination and promote outcrossing. However, the molecular mechanism underlying HetSI remains largely unknown. In this study, RNA-seq was conducted to explore the molecular mechanisms underlying self-compatible (SC, "T × P" and "P × T") and self-incompatible (SI, "T × T" and "P × P") pollination in the two types of flowers of Plumbago auriculata Lam. which is a representative HetSI plant. By comparing "T × P" vs. "T × T", 3773 (1407 upregulated and 2366 downregulated) differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified, 1261 DEGs between "P × T" and "P × P" (502 upregulated and 759 downregulated). The processes in which these DEGs were significantly enriched were "MAPK (Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinases-plant) signaling pathway", "plant-pathogen interaction","plant hormone signal transduction", and "pentose and glucuronate interconversion" pathways. Surprisingly, we discovered that under various pollination conditions, multiple notable genes that may be involved in HetSI exhibited distinct regulation. We can infer that the HetSI strategy might be unique in P. auriculata. It was similar to "sporophytic self-incompatibility" (SSI) but the HetSI mechanisms in pin and thrum flowers are diverse. In this study, new hypotheses and inferences were proposed, which can provide a reference for crop production and breeding.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is an extremely common genitourinary malignancy among elderly men. Many evidence have shown the efficacy of curcumin (CUR) in inhibiting the progression of PCa. However, the pharmacological function of CUR in PCa is still not quite clear. In this research, CUR was found to suppress the proliferation and enhance the apoptotic rate in in vitro PCa cell models in a dose- and time-dependent manner. In a xenograft animal model, the administration of CUR contributed to a significant decrease in the growth of the xenograft tumor induced by the transplanted PC-3 cells. Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 C is implicated in the modulation of multiple types of cancers. In humans, the expression levels of UBE2C are significantly higher in PCa versus benign prostatic hyperplasia. Treatment with CUR decreased the expression of UBE2C, whereas it increased miR-483-3p expression. In contrast with the control mice, the CUR-treated mice showed a significant reduction in UBE2C and Ki-67 in PCa cells. The capability of proliferation, migration, and invasion of PCa cells was inhibited by the knockdown of UBE2C mediated by siRNA. Furthermore, dual luciferase reporter gene assay indicated the binding of miR-483-3p to UBE2C. In summary, CUR exerts its antitumor effects through regulation of the miR-483-3p/UBE2C axis by decreasing UBE2C and increasing miR-483-3p. The findings may also provide new molecular markers for PCa diagnosis and treatment.

BACKGROUND: The innovative method of sentiment analysis based on an emotional lexicon shows prominent advantages in capturing emotional information, such as individual attitudes, experiences, and needs, which provides a new perspective and method for emotion recognition and management for patients with breast cancer (BC). However, at present, sentiment analysis in the field of BC is limited, and there is no emotional lexicon for this field. Therefore, it is necessary to construct an emotional lexicon that conforms to the characteristics of patients with BC so as to provide a new tool for accurate identification and analysis of the patients' emotions and a new method for their personalized emotion management. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to construct an emotional lexicon of patients with BC. METHODS: Emotional words were obtained by merging the words in 2 general sentiment lexicons, the Chinese Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count (C-LIWC) and HowNet, and the words in text corpora acquired from patients with BC via Weibo, semistructured interviews, and expressive writing. The lexicon was constructed using manual annotation and classification under the guidance of Russell's valence-arousal space. Ekman's basic emotional categories, Lazarus' cognitive appraisal theory of emotion, and a qualitative text analysis based on the text corpora of patients with BC were combined to determine the fine-grained emotional categories of the lexicon we constructed. Precision, recall, and the F1-score were used to evaluate the lexicon's performance. RESULTS: The text corpora collected from patients in different stages of BC included 150 written materials, 17 interviews, and 6689 original posts and comments from Weibo, with a total of 1,923,593 Chinese characters. The emotional lexicon of patients with BC contained 9357 words and covered 8 fine-grained emotional categories: joy, anger, sadness, fear, disgust, surprise, somatic symptoms, and BC terminology. Experimental results showed that precision, recall, and the F1-score of positive emotional words were 98.42%, 99.73%, and 99.07%, respectively, and those of negative emotional words were 99.73%, 98.38%, and 99.05%, respectively, which all significantly outperformed the C-LIWC and HowNet. CONCLUSIONS: The emotional lexicon with fine-grained emotional categories conforms to the characteristics of patients with BC. Its performance related to identifying and classifying domain-specific emotional words in BC is better compared to the C-LIWC and HowNet. This lexicon not only provides a new tool for sentiment analysis in the field of BC but also provides a new perspective for recognizing the specific emotional state and needs of patients with BC and formulating tailored emotional management plans.

Quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) often encounter intricate environmental and dynamic limitations in real-world applications, underscoring the significance of proficient trajectory planning for ensuring both safety and efficiency during flights. To tackle this challenge, we introduce an innovative approach that harmonizes sophisticated environmental insights with the dynamic state of a UAV within a potential field framework. Our proposition entails a quadrotor trajectory planner grounded in a kinodynamic gene regulation network potential field. The pivotal contribution of this study lies in the amalgamation of environmental perceptions and kinodynamic constraints within a newly devised gene regulation network (GRN) potential field. By enhancing the gene regulation network model, the potential field becomes adaptable to the UAV's dynamic conditions and its surroundings, thereby extending the GRN into a kinodynamic GRN (K-GRN). The trajectory planner excels at charting courses that guide the quadrotor UAV through intricate environments while taking dynamic constraints into account. The amalgamation of environmental insights and kinodynamic constraints within the potential field framework bolsters the adaptability and stability of the generated trajectories. Empirical results substantiate the efficacy of our proposed methodology.

Calcification is a critical challenge for achieving anaerobic reactors' high-efficiency. However, the aggregation caused by calcification at both granular sludge and reactor levels remain to be fully understood. Herein, this study investigated the characteristics of calcification in an anaerobic reactor (RH) operated with high calcium-containing wastewater for over 200-day. It was found that the COD removal efficiency in RH dropped from 98.00 ± 2.06% to 41.29 ± 3.79%, which was much lower than that of 95.50 ± 1.55% in the control reactor. Morphological analysis revealed that the high influent calcium caused granular sludge aggregation, which would further led to the rapid deterioration in bioavailability, as confirmed by both mass transfer tests and theoretical simulations. Moving forward, statistical analysis showed that the proportion of bioavailability deterioration zones in RH system (61.68%) was similar to the decreased COD removal efficiency (57.87%), proving that bioavailability deterioration was the culprit for the performance decline of anaerobic reactor.

Anaerobic reactors often underperform compared to expectations. To identify the key factors, an ecological anaerobic reactor (EAR) with vertical partitions was developed and compared to a physical anaerobic reactor (PAR) as the control. It was observed that EAR achieved a much higher organic loading rate (OLR) compared to PAR (>100 vs 45 kg/m3·d). The different vertical distribution characteristics of anaerobic granular sludge could be ascribed to two vertical distribution patterns dominated in EAR and PAR, i.e., ecological and physical distributions. It was revealed that ecological distribution was formed by the habitat selection, resulting in promoted substrate availability and higher OLR. While physical distribution was mainly affected by hydraulic selection via granule settleability, causing declined substrate availability and lower OLR. Consequently, the promoted ecological distribution and weakened hydraulic selection in EAR contributed to its good performance. Overall, these findings could offer novel concepts for the development of reactors towards high performance.

BACKGROUND: Given the rapid development of social media, effective extraction and analysis of the contents of social media for health care have attracted widespread attention from health care providers. As far as we know, most of the reviews focus on the application of social media, and there is a lack of reviews that integrate the methods for analyzing social media information for health care. OBJECTIVE: This scoping review aims to answer the following 4 questions: (1) What types of research have been used to investigate social media for health care, (2) what methods have been used to analyze the existing health information on social media, (3) what indicators should be applied to collect and evaluate the characteristics of methods for analyzing the contents of social media for health care, and (4) what are the current problems and development directions of methods used to analyze the contents of social media for health care? METHODS: A scoping review following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines was conducted. We searched PubMed, the Web of Science, EMBASE, the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, and the Cochrane Library for the period from 2010 to May 2023 for primary studies focusing on social media and health care. Two independent reviewers screened eligible studies against inclusion criteria. A narrative synthesis of the included studies was conducted. RESULTS: Of 16,161 identified citations, 134 (0.8%) studies were included in this review. These included 67 (50.0%) qualitative designs, 43 (32.1%) quantitative designs, and 24 (17.9%) mixed methods designs. The applied research methods were classified based on the following aspects: (1) manual analysis methods (content analysis methodology, grounded theory, ethnography, classification analysis, thematic analysis, and scoring tables) and computer-aided analysis methods (latent Dirichlet allocation, support vector machine, probabilistic clustering, image analysis, topic modeling, sentiment analysis, and other natural language processing technologies), (2) categories of research contents, and (3) health care areas (health practice, health services, and health education). CONCLUSIONS: Based on an extensive literature review, we investigated the methods for analyzing the contents of social media for health care to determine the main applications, differences, trends, and existing problems. We also discussed the implications for the future. Traditional content analysis is still the mainstream method for analyzing social media content, and future research may be combined with big data research. With the progress of computers, mobile phones, smartwatches, and other smart devices, social media information sources will become more diversified. Future research can combine new sources, such as pictures, videos, and physiological signals, with online social networking to adapt to the development trend of the internet. More medical information talents need to be trained in the future to better solve the problem of network information analysis. Overall, this scoping review can be useful for a large audience that includes researchers entering the field.

Inoculation can effectively improve the recycling level of organic waste in composting process. However, the role of inocula in the humification process has been rarely studied. Therefore, we constructed a simulated food waste composting system by adding commercial microbial agents to explore the function of inocula. The results showed that adding microbial agents extended the high temperature maintenance time by 33% and increased the humic acid content by 42%. Inoculation significantly improved the degree of directional humification (HA/TOC = 0.46, p < 0.001). The proportion of positive cohesion in the microbial community underwent an overall increase. The strength of bacterial/fungal community interaction increased by 1.27-fold after inoculation. Furthermore, the inoculum stimulated the potential functional microbes (Thermobifida and Acremonium) which were highly related to the formation of humic acid and the degradation of organic matter. This study showed that additional microbial agents could strengthen microbial interaction to raise the humic acid content, thus opening the door for the development of targeted biotransformation inocula in the future.

MAIN CONCLUSION: Enhanced secretion of Na+ and Cl- in leaf glands and leaf vacuolar sequestration of Na+ or root retention of Cl-, combined with K+ retention, contribute to the improved salt tolerance of tetraploid recretohalophyte P. auriculata. Salt stress is one of the major abiotic factors threatening plant growth and development, and polyploids generally exhibit higher salt stress resistance than diploids. In recretohalophytes, which secrete ions from the salt gland in leaf epidermal cells, the effects of polyploidization on ion homeostasis and secretion remain unknown. In this study, we compared the morphology, physiology, and ion homeostasis regulation of diploid and autotetraploid accessions of the recretohalophyte Plumbago auriculata Lam. after treatment with 300 mM NaCl for 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 days. The results showed that salt stress altered the morphology, photosynthetic efficiency, and chloroplast structure of diploid P. auriculata to a greater extent than those of its tetraploid counterpart. Moreover, the contents of organic osmoregulatory substances (proline and soluble sugars) were significantly higher in the tetraploid than in the diploid, while those of H2O2 and malondialdehyde (MDA) were significantly lower. Analysis of ion homeostasis revealed that the tetraploid cytotype accumulated more Na+ in stems and leaves and more Cl- in roots but less K+ loss in roots compared with diploid P. auriculata. Additionally, the rate of Na+ and Cl- secretion from the leaf surface was higher, while that of K+, Mg2+, and Ca2+ secretion was lower in tetraploid plants. X-ray microanalysis of mesophyll cells revealed that Na+ mainly accumulated in different cellular compartments in the tetraploid (vacuole) and diploid (cytoplasm) plants. Our results suggest that polyploid recretohalophytes require the ability to sequester Na+ and Cl-(via accumulation in leaf cell vacuoles or unloading by roots) and selectively secrete these ions (through salt glands) together with the ability to prevent K+ loss (by roots). This mechanism required to maintain K+/Na+ homeostasis in polyploid recretohalophytes under high salinity provides new insights in the improved maintenance of ion homeostasis in polyploids under salt stress.

Background: Receiving a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment is both a physical and emotional journey. Previous studies using single-source data have revealed common and culture-specific emotional experiences of patients living with breast cancer. However, few studies have combined such data from multiple sources. Thus, using a variety of data sources, the current study sought to explore the emotional experiences of women in China newly diagnosed, post-operative, or undergoing chemotherapy. We posited that even though women living with breast cancer in China have multiple channels through which they can express these emotional experiences, little variance would be found in their emotional expressivity and the themes they want to express due to cultural inhibitions. Methods: Text data from female patients newly diagnosed, post-operative, or undergoing chemotherapy were collected between June 2021 and January 2022 via a Python web crawler, semi-structured interviews, and an expressive writing intervention. Data were transcribed and subjected to thematic analysis. Reporting followed the consolidated criteria for reporting qualitative studies (COREQ) guidelines. Results: Analyses were based on 5,675 Weibo posts and comments published by 448 posters and 1,842 commenters, transcription texts from 17 semi-structured interviews, and 150 expressive writing texts. From this total collection of 461,348 Chinese characters, three major themes emerged: (i) conflicting emotions after diagnosis; (ii) long-term suffering and treatment concerns; and (iii) benefit finding and cognitive reappraisal. Conclusions: Despite gathering information from various sources, we found that distress from body-image disturbances, gender role loss and conflict, and changes in sexuality and fertility, were consistent among this sample of female Chinese patients with breast cancer. However, when women engaged actively in benefit finding and cognitive reappraisal with strong social support, patients were able to find ways to adapt and reported post-traumatic growth. Strong social support was an important facilitator in this growth. These study findings emphasize that healthcare professionals ought to increase cultural sensitivity, provide multiple channels to encourage patients to express their emotions, and incorporate screening for patients' emotional distress at all diagnostic and treatment phases as part of routine nursing care.

Elemental sulfur (S0) is widely utilized in environmental pollution control, while its low bioavailability has become a bottleneck for S0-based biotechnologies. Biogenic sulfur (bio-S0) has been demonstrated to have superior bioavailability, while little is known about its mechanisms thus far. This study investigated the bioavailability and relevant properties of bio-S0 based on the denitrifying activity of Thiobacillus denitrificans with chemical sulfur (chem-S0) as the control. It was found that the conversion rate and removal efficiency of nitrate in the bio-S0 system were 2.23 and 2.04 times those of the chem-S0 system. Bio-S0 was not pure orthorhombic sulfur [S: 96.88 ± 0.25% (w/w)]. Trace organic substances detected on the bio-S0 surface were revealed to contribute to its hydrophilicity, resulting in better dispersibility in the aqueous liquid. In addition, the adhesion force of T. denitrificans on bio-S0 was 1.54 times that of chem-S0, endowing a higher bacterial adhesion efficiency on the sulfur particle. The weaker intermolecular binding force due to the low crystallinity of bio-S0 led to enhanced cellular uptake by attached bacteria. The mechanisms for the superior bioavailability of bio-S0 were further proposed. This study provides a comprehensive view of the superior bioavailability of bio-S0 and is beneficial to developing high-quality sulfur resources.

BACKGROUND: To explore whether emotional expressivity and the patterns of language use could predict benefits from expressive writing (EW) of breast cancer (BC) patients in a culture that strongly discourages emotional disclosure. METHODS: Data were obtained from a recent trial in which we compared the health outcomes between a prolonged EW group (12 sessions) and a standard EW group (four sessions) (n = 56 per group) of BC patients receiving chemotherapy. The Chinese texts were tokenized using the THU Lexical Analyser for Chinese. Then, LIWC2015 was used to quantify positive and negative affect word use. RESULTS: Our first hypothesis that BC patients with higher levels of emotional expressivity tended to use higher levels of positive and negative affect words in texts was not supported (r = 0.067, p = 0.549 and r = 0.065, p = 0.559, respectively). The level of emotional expressivity has a significant effect on the quality of life (QOL), and those who used more positive or fewer negative affective words in texts had a better QOL (all p < 0.05). However, no significant difference was identified in physical and psychological well-being (all p > 0.05). Furthermore, the patterns of affective word use during EW did not mediate the effects of emotional expressivity on health outcomes (all p > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggest that the level of emotional expressivity and the pattern of affective word use could be factors that may moderate the effects of EW on QOL, which may help clinicians identify the individuals most likely to benefit from such writing exercises in China.

Veterinary antibiotics in swine wastewater has drawn great public attention. The removal processes of sulfamethizole (SMZ), enrofloxacin (ENR) and chlortetracycline (CTC) were investigated in the high-rate anaerobic process. The continuous experiments demonstrated that in 3 L working volume and with the organic loading rate 5 kg/(m3·d) rised to 20 kg/(m3·d), the average removal efficiencies of the high-rate anaerobic bioreactor for SMZ, ENR and CTC were 0, 54 and 100%, respectively. By using fixed-bed adsorption models, the saturation time of SMZ, ENR and CTC were 4 hydraulic retention time (HRT) (24 h), 8 HRT (48 h) and 372 HRT (2,232 h). In the batch experiments, the adsorption and biodegradation characteristics of anaerobic granular sludge were determined. In the high-rate anaerobic bioreactor, SMZ removal process mainly relied on the adsorption but it was very weak; ENR removal process was based on the adsorption and biodegradation; CTC removal process was based to a large extent on the adsorption because of the big capacity of AnGS. These results were helpful to create a rational basis for designing more suitable treatment systems as feasible barriers to the release of antibiotics into the environment.

BACKGROUND: Giant renal angiomyolipomas (AMLs) may lead to complications including flank pain, hematuria, hypertension, retroperitoneal hemorrhage and even death. Giant AMLs which grow around renal hilar vessels and the ureter are rare. Most previous reports on the treatment of giant renal AMLs have focused on open surgery or a transperitoneal approach, with few studies on the retroperitoneal approach for large AMLs. We here report a case of giant renal hilum AML successfully treated with robot-assisted laparoscopic nephron sparing surgery the retroperitoneal approach, with a one-year follow-up. CASE SUMMARY: A 34-year-old female patient was diagnosed with renal AML 11 years ago and showed no discomfort. The tumor gradually increased in size to a giant AML over the years, which measured 63 mm × 47 mm ×90 mm and was wrapped around the right hilum. Therefore, a robotic laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (LPN) via the retroperitoneal approach was performed. The patient had no serious postoperative complications and was discharged soon after the operation. At the one-year follow-up, the patient's right kidney had recovered well. CONCLUSION: Despite insufficient operating space via the retroperitoneal approach, LPN for giant central renal AMLs can be completed using a well-designed procedure with the assistance of a robotic system.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is a common urinary malignancy. The lack of specific and sensitive biomarkers for the early diagnosis and prognosis of PCa makes it important to seek alternatives. R software was used to analyze the PCa expression profile from data sets in Gene Expression Omnibus. Core differential genes were identified by String and Cytoscape and further validated by Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA) and The Human Protein Atlas (HPA). Gene Ontology analysis was done in the DIVID database and visualization analysis was conducted by Hiplot. Pathway enrichment was analyzed by IPA. To identify potential competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNA) networks, the experimentally validated microRNA-target interactions database (miRTarBase), The Encyclopedia of RNA Interactomes (StarBase), lncBase, and GEPIA were used. The lncLocator was utilized to perform subcellular localization of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs). Both miRTarBase and StarBase were used to find the binding site of mRNAs-miRNAs and miRNAs-lncRNAs. Visualization of the ceRNA network was performed with Cytoscape. Nine genes closely related to the diagnosis and prognosis of PCa were obtained, including four identified biomarkers by HPA, CENPF, TPX2, TK1, and CCNB1, and five novel PCa biomarkers, RRM2, UBE2C, TOP2A, BIRC5, and ZWINT. Pathway analysis indicated that PCa carcinogenesis was highly correlated with liver fibrosis pathways, ILK signaling, and NRF2-mediated oxidative stress response. Two sets of ceRNA networks, BIRC5/hsa-miR-218-5p/NEAT1 and UBE2C/hsa-miR-483-3p/NEAT1 were found to be novel biomarkers for the identification of PCa. The quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction results verified that UBE2C, BIRC5, and NEAT1 were upregulated and hsa-miR-218-5p and hsa-miR-483-3p were downregulated in human PCa cells compared with normal prostate epithelial cells. The novel identified biomarkers in this study would be valuable for the diagnosis and prognosis of PCa.

Objective: In order to better understand the relative surgical process, this work used a model-based computational analysis on the effectiveness of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) in the operating room with nursing. Methods: A total of 360 surgical patients in the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, from the period June 2020 to March 2021, were randomly divided into two groups, namely, observation group and control group, with 180 cases in each group. Routine nursing was used in the control group, while ERAS was implemented in the observation group from the point of view of four aspects, namely, preoperative visit, intraoperative cooperation, postoperative return visit, and psychological intervention. Results: Postoperative complications, average hospital stay, nursing satisfaction, and postoperative quality of life in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group (all p < 0.05). Conclusion: The application of ERAS for surgical patients can enhance team awareness, optimize the process of cooperation, reduce surgical complications and improve nursing quality, and prognosis, and it is worth popularizing in the operating room.
