BACKGROUND: Tumor immunotherapy has become an important adjuvant therapy after surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. In recent years, the role of tumor-associated antigen (TAA) in tumor immunotherapy has become increasingly prominent. Cancer-testis antigen (CTA) is a kind of TAA that is highly restricted in a variety of tumors and can induce an immune response. AIMS: This review article aimed to evaluate the role of CTA on the progression of ovarian cancer, its diagnostic efficacy, and the potential for immunotherapy. METHODS: We analyzed publications and outlined a comprehensive of overview the regulatory mechanism, immunogenicity, clinical expression significance, tumorigenesis, and application prospects of CTA in ovarian cancer, with a particular focus on recent progress in CTA-based immunotherapy. RESULTS: The expression of CTA affects the occurrence, development, and prognosis of ovarian cancer and is closely related to tumor immunity. CONCLUSION: CTA can be used as a biomarker for the diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of ovarian cancer and is an ideal target for antitumor immunotherapy. These findings provide novel insights on CTA in the improvement of diagnosis and treatment for ovarian cancer. The successes, current challenges and future prospects were also discussed to portray its significant potential.

OBJECTIVE: Protein kinase C (PKC) has been implicated in the increased contraction of human airway smooth muscle cells (HASMCs) in asthma. Using the three-dimensional collagen gel contraction system, the study aimed to determine the effects of LY333531, a specific inhibitor of the PKC-ß isoform, on the contraction of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α-sensitized HASMCs. METHODS: Cultured HASMCs were divided into five groups: the control group received no treatment, and the cells in the TNF-α group were sensitized with 10 ng/mL TNF-α for 48 h, while TNF-α was administered to sensitize HASMCs in the presence of 0.1, 0.2, and 0.5 µM LY333531 for 48 h in the 0.1LY, 0.2LY, and 0.5LY groups, respectively. Following this, HASMCs contraction was stimulated with 1 mM acetylcholine (ACh) for up to 24 h in each group and assessed using a three-dimensional collagen gel contraction assay. Furthermore, western blot and immunofluorescence analysis were performed. RESULTS: The collagen gel contraction assay revealed that TNF-α increased the protein expression of phosphorylated PKC-ß2, CPI-17, and MLC while exacerbating ACh-induced HASMCs contraction. LY333531 significantly attenuated HASMCs contraction and downregulated the protein expression of both p-CPI-17 and p-MLC. CONCLUSIONS: At least in part by regulating CPI-17 and MLC phosphorylation, LY333531 attenuates augmented contraction of TNF-α-sensitized HASMCs in a collagen gel contraction system.

INTRODUCTION: In recent years, e-cigarettes as an emerging tobacco product have been favored by college students. Our study aims to explore the factors affecting the use of e-cigarettes among college students and to put forward feasible suggestions for effectively controlling the use of e-cigarettes among college students. METHODS: The participating students were from three undergraduate and three specialized colleges in Guangdong Province, surveyed from January to March 2022. The Fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) method was used to analyze the influence mechanism and path of five antecedents: self-efficacy, social environment, cognition, sales environment, and negative outcome expectation, on the use of e-cigarettes. The fsQCA used in this study is a novel research methodology that combines the strengths of qualitative and quantitative analyses, through which we can determine which conditions are essential to the outcomes that lead to e-cigarette use among college students, and which combinations of conditions are more important than others. RESULTS: The interaction of self-efficacy, social environment, cognition, sales environment, and negative outcome expectation, affected college students' use of e-cigarettes. Through the fsQCA method, it was found that self-efficacy alone constitutes a necessary condition for college students not to use e-cigarettes. There are four possible pathways for college students not to use e-cigarettes, with higher self-efficacy, correct cognition, and a healthy social environment influencing the most important combination of conditions for college students to use e-cigarettes. CONCLUSIONS: The use of e-cigarettes by students in Guangdong Province is the result of the synergistic effect of multiple factors. Tobacco control action suggestions focus on improving students' self-efficacy and paying attention to the combination of different factors to achieve more effective tobacco control.

The global incidence rate of kidney cancer (KC) has been steadily increasing over the past 30 years. With the aging global population, kidney cancer has become an escalating concern that necessitates vigilant surveillance. Nowadays, surgical intervention remains the optimal therapeutic approach for kidney cancer, while the availability of efficacious treatments for advanced tumors remains limited. Oncolytic viruses, an emerging form of immunotherapy, have demonstrated encouraging anti-neoplastic properties and are progressively garnering public acceptance. However, research on oncolytic viruses in kidney cancer is relatively limited. Furthermore, given the high complexity and heterogeneity of kidney cancer, it is crucial to identify an optimal oncolytic virus agent that is better suited for its treatment. The present study investigates the oncolytic activity of the Pseudorabies virus live attenuated vaccine (PRV-LAV) against KC. The findings clearly demonstrate that PRV-LAV exhibits robust oncolytic activity targeting KC cell lines. Furthermore, the therapeutic efficacy of PRV-LAV was confirmed in both a subcutaneous tumor-bearing nude mouse model and a syngeneic mouse model of KC. Combined RNA-seq analysis and flow cytometry revealed that PRV-LAV treatment substantially enhances the infiltration of a diverse range of lymphocytes, including T cells, B cells, macrophages, and NK cells. Additionally, PRV-LAV treatment enhances T cell activation and exerts antitumor effects. Importantly, the combination of PRV-LAV with anti-PD-1 antibodies, an approved drug for KC treatment, synergistically enhances the efficacy against KC. Overall, the discovery of PRV-LAV as an effective oncolytic virus holds significant importance for improving the treatment efficacy and survival rates of KC patients.

INTRODUCTION: Previous studies have confirmed that low shear stress (LSS) induces glycocalyx disruption, leading to endothelial dysfunction. However, the role of autophagy in LSS-induced glycocalyx disruption and relevant mechanism are not clear. In this study, we hypothesized that LSS may promote autophagy, disrupting the endothelium glycocalyx. METHODS: Human umbilical vein endothelial cells were subjected to physiological shear stress and LSS treatments, followed by the application of autophagy inducers and inhibitors. Additionally, cells were treated with specific matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) inhibitor. The expression of autophagic markers, glycocalyx, MMP-2, and MMP-9 was measured. RESULTS: LSS impacted the expression of endothelium autophagy markers, increasing the expression of LC3II.LC3I-1 and Beclin-1, and decreasing the levels of p62, accompanied by glycocalyx disturbance. Moreover, LSS upregulated the expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 and downregulated the levels of syndecan-1 and heparan sulfate (HS). Additionally, expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 was increased by an autophagy promoter but was decreased by autophagy inhibitor treatment under LSS. Autophagy and MMP-2 and MMP-9 further caused glycocalyx disruption. CONCLUSION: LSS promotes autophagy, leading to glycocalyx disruption. Autophagy increases the expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9, which are correlated with the glycocalyx destruction induced by LSS.

Background: Shedding of glycocalyx is relevant to worse prognosis in surgical patients, and elevated levels of serum matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) are associated with this phenomenon. This study aimed to investigate the dynamic alterations of serum glycocalyx components and MMP-9 during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), and evaluate their predictive capacities for prolonged intensive care unit (ICU) stay, as well as their correlation with coagulation dysfunction. Methods: This retrospective study analyzed serum levels of syndecan-1, heparan sulfate (HS), and MMP-9 at different time points during CPB, and assessed their association with prolonged ICU stay and coagulation dysfunction. Results: Syndecan-1, HS, and MMP-9 exhibited divergent changes during CPB. Serum levels of syndecan-1 (AUC = 78.0 %) and MMP-9 (AUC = 78.4 %) were validated as reliable predictors for prolonged ICU stay, surpassing the predictive value of creatinine (AUC = 70.0 %). Syndecan-1 (rho = 0.566, P < 0.01 at T1 and rho = 0.526, P < 0.01 at T2) and HS (rho = 0.403, P < 0.05 at T4) exhibited correlations with activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) ratio beyond the normal range. Conclusions: Our findings advocate the potential efficacy of serum glycocalyx components and MMP-9 as early predictive indicators for extended ICU stay following cardiac surgery with CPB. Additionally, we observed a correlation between glycocalyx disruption during CPB and coagulation dysfunction. Further studies with expansive cohorts are warranted to consolidate our findings and explore the predictive potential of other glycocalyx components.

Introduction: Jichuan decoction (JCD) is a well-known traditional Chinese medicinal formula that moistens the intestines and is widely used for the treatment of constipation in China. However, its effects and mechanisms in alleviating slow transit constipation (STC) in vivo remain unclear. We attempted to demonstrate the effect of JCD, with and without essential oil (VO), on intestinal transit and its underlying molecular mechanisms in rats with loperamide-induced STC. Materials and methods: Water consumption, body weight, fecal water content, time to first melena excretion, and intestinal transit ratio of the animals were measured. 5-Hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), substance P (SP), vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), and interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels in the sera of rats were evaluated using ELISA. Hematoxylin and eosin and Periodic Acid-Schiff staining were used to determine intestinal tissue histology, while quantitative real-time PCR, western blotting, and immunohistochemical analysis were used to assess the relative expression levels of cAMP/PKA/AQPs pathway- and inflammation-related proteins. 16 S rDNA sequence analysis of rat feces was used to determine the diversity and abundance of the intestinal flora. Results: The JCD groups showed reduced time to first melena excretion and expression of VIP and IL-6. The JCD groups, specifically JCD + VO groups, showed increased fecal water content, intestinal transit rate, and SP expression. Further, these groups showed improved histological characteristics of the colon, with no significant change in the index of immune organs or morphological characteristics of other organs. In addition, a significant decrease in the activation of the cAMP/PKA/AQPs signaling pathway in the colon tissue was observed in these groups, specifically the JCD + VO groups. Moreover, treatment with JCD, with or without VO, downregulated the expression of inflammatory factors and enriched the diversity of intestinal flora as evidenced by polymorphism analysis and the contents of Bacteroides, Lactobacillus, and Erysipelas, with the JCD + VO groups showing better therapeutic outcomes. Conclusion: JCD improved loperamide-induced STC, and co-administration with VO exhibited better activity than sole JCD therapy. JCD may improve STC by inhibiting the cAMP/PKA/AQPs signaling pathway and maintaining inflammatory/intestinal flora homeostasis.

Based on the data of three CTD sections in the northern, northeastern and western Bering Sea of 2019 voyage of Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition (CHINARE), this paper analyzes and studies the hydrological characteristics of the water mass distribution, layered structure, and cline characteristics in different sea areas of the Bering Sea. The results indicate that the hydrological characteristics of the Bering Sea in the summer of 2019 are different from those in the past and that the water mass is warming in many locations. The maximum water temperature reaches 11.13 °C, and the maximum thickness of the warm water is about 32 m. The water mass composition and characteristics of the north-northeast-west sections are significantly different: the BL section has the highest salinity, while the BS section has the lowest salinity, and both the lowest temperature and the largest temperature variation appear in the BL section. The stratification characteristics in all sea areas are noteworthy. In the deep-water seas, there are three types of water masses: upper water (BSW), middle water (BIW) and deep water (BDW) from top to bottom, while two main water masses appear in the shelf waters with the Alaska Coastal Water (ACW) overlies the Bering Sea Shelf Water (BSW). Along the Bering Sea Slope Current (BSC), the water mass is essentially steady. Statically unstable hydrological inversion structure appears near the bottom of the three stations at the northern end of the BL section.

The investigation of deep-sea microorganisms holds immense significance and value in advancing the fields of life sciences, biotechnology, and environmental conservation. However, the current lack of specialized underwater objectives specifically designed for in situ studies of deep-sea microorganisms hampers progress in this area. To address this limitation, we present the design of a multi-band Raman tweezer objective tailored for deep-sea environments. The objective is integrated into a high-pressure chamber capable of withstanding depths up to 1.5 km, enabling in situ microscopic imaging, optical tweezer capture, and Raman detection of deep-sea microorganisms. Through meticulous structural optimization, meticulous material selection, and thorough mechanical analysis of the underwater optical window, the objective exhibits remarkable attributes such as multi-band functionality, extended working distance, and high numerical aperture. Our design yields image quality near the diffraction limit, successfully achieving flat-field and apochromatic performance in each respective wavelength bands. Moreover, the tolerance analysis demonstrates that the full-field root mean square (RMS) wave aberration approaches λ/14, effectively meeting the demands of manufacturing and practical applications. This objective lens constitutes a vital tool for the in situ exploration of deep-sea microorganisms.

BACKGROUND: Oncolytic viruses are now well recognized as potential immunotherapeutic agents against cancer. However, the first FDA-approved oncolytic herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1), T-VEC, showed limited benefits in some patients in clinical trials. Thus, the identification of novel oncolytic viruses that can strengthen oncolytic virus therapy is warranted. Here, we identified a live-attenuated swine pseudorabies virus (PRV-LAV) as a promising oncolytic agent with broad-spectrum antitumor activity in vitro and in vivo. METHODS: PRV cytotoxicity against tumor cells and normal cells was tested in vitro using a CCK8 cell viability assay. A cell kinase inhibitor library was used to screen for key targets that affect the proliferation of PRV-LAV. The potential therapeutic efficacy of PRV-LAV was tested against syngeneic tumors in immunocompetent mice, and against subcutaneous xenografts of human cancer cell lines in nude mice. Cytometry by time of flight (CyTOF) and flow cytometry were used to uncover the immunological mechanism of PRV-LAV treatment in regulating the tumor immune microenvironment. RESULTS: Through various tumor-specific analyses, we show that PRV-LAV infects cancer cells via the NRP1/EGFR signaling pathway, which is commonly overexpressed in cancer. Further, we show that PRV-LAV kills cancer cells by inducing endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. Moreover, PRV-LAV is responsible for reprogramming the tumor microenvironment from immunologically naïve ("cold") to inflamed ("hot"), thereby increasing immune cell infiltration and restoring CD8+ T cell function against cancer. When delivered in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), the anti-tumor response is augmented, suggestive of synergistic activity. CONCLUSIONS: PRV-LAV can infect cancer cells via NRP1/EGFR signaling and induce cancer cells apoptosis via ER stress. PRV-LAV treatment also restores CD8+ T cell function against cancer. The combination of PRV-LAV and immune checkpoint inhibitors has a significant synergistic effect. Overall, these findings point to PRV-LAV as a serious potential candidate for the treatment of NRP1/EGFR pathway-associated tumors.

INTRODUCTION: Thirdhand smoke is an emerging threat to global public health. There is no research on young people's exposure to thirdhand smoke in China. This study aims to investigate the exposure status and beliefs of thirdhand smoke among young Chinese people and provide a reference for policy regarding thirdhand smoke. METHODS: Data from the 2022 Chinese Resident Psychological and Behavioral Survey were used to select young people aged 15-24 years. A total of 11781 subjects were included in this study. Demographic information, beliefs about thirdhand smoke, and exposure status to thirdhand smoke were investigated. RESULTS: Among the participants, 47.8% reported being exposed to thirdhand smoke (males: 49.1%, females: 47.0%). Young people living in urban areas (AOR=0.84, 95% CI: 0.77-0.91, p<0.001) and those with a monthly family income >12000 RMB (AOR=0.81, 95% CI: 0.71-0.92, p=0.001) were less likely to be exposed to thirdhand smoke. Young people with junior high school education or higher, and current or former smokers, were more likely to be exposed to thirdhand smoke. There is room for improvement in the beliefs about thirdhand smoke among young people. CONCLUSIONS: Thirdhand smoke exposure is an issue that should be addressed in public health policy. Young people with low income and current or former smokers are populations that should be mainly focused on in public education and prevention work on thirdhand smoke.

In recent years, many studies on photocatalysis focused on improving efficiency. However, the cycle performance is also an important index for industrialization. Here, an Ag2O/TiO2 heterostructure photocatalyst is prepared for continuous photodegradation of methylene blue (MB) under visible light, and the samples after the first and fifth round reactions are recycled to study the microstructure evolution of the photocatalyst. The results show that the performance is obviously improved in the second round and remains stable in the following reaction round. Due to the charge transfer, Ag2O/TiO2 gradually changes to Ag2O@Ag-TiO2-x during the photocatalytic reaction. The resulting localized surface plasmon resonance effect and the change of the interface structure greatly increase the number of carriers and prolong the lifetime of carriers. Such variations of microstructures and photoelectric properties of the samples due to the charge transfer and redox reaction on the surface of the photocatalyst dominate the cycle performance.

The typical textile dyeing process calls for a wide range of operational parameters, and it has always been difficult to pinpoint which of these qualities is the most important in dyeing performance. Consequently, this research used a combined design of experiments and machine learning prediction models' method to offer a sustainable and beneficial reactive cotton fabric dyeing process. To be more precise, we built a least square support vector regression (LSSVR) model based on Taguchi's statistical orthogonal design (L27) to predict exhaustion percentage (E%), fixation rate (F%), and total fixation efficiency (T%) and color strength (K/S) in the reactive cotton dyeing process. The model's prediction accuracy was assessed using many measures, including root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and the coefficient of determination (R2). Principal component regression (PCR), partial least square regression (PLSR), and fuzzy modelling were some of the other types of regression models used to compare results. Our findings reveal that the LSSVR model greatly outperformed competing models in predicting the E%, F%, T%, and K/S. This is shown by the LSSVR model's much smaller RMSE and MAE values. Overall, it provided the highest possible R2 values, which reached 0.9819.

OBJECTIVE: To screen and validate cancer testis antigens (CTAs) as potential biomarkers and explore their molecular mechanisms in glioblastoma (GBM). METHODS: Ribonucleic acid sequencing (RNA-seq) and bioinformatics analyses were utilized to screen the highly expressed CTAs in GBM. Correlation analysis was used to identify potential biomarkers associated with tumor purity and prognosis. Immunohistochemistry was applied for detection of protein expression. Protein-protein interaction (PPI) network construction, functional enrichment analysis, and binding domain prediction were performed to investigate the underlying molecular mechanisms of GBM. RESULTS: A total of 8 highly expressed CTAs were identified in GBM. One of them was PDZ-binding kinase (PBK). PBK messenger RNA (mRNA) was most highly expressed in GBM and associated with tumor purity and prognosis, PBK protein expression was also significantly increased in GBM tissues and correlated with p53 expression. Functional enrichment analysis revealed that the PBK related genes were predominantly enriched in cell cycle pathway with 38 genes enriched. The proteins encoding by these 38 genes were performed by binding domain prediction analysis, which demonstrated 15 proteins interacting with PBK. Most of these proteins were up regulated in GBM. CONCLUSION: PBK is highly expressed in GBM. It may serve as a potential biomarker for GBM targeting therapy and the cell cycle modulator by interacting with certain key molecules of cell cycle in GBM.

BACKGROUND: Umbilical artery serum-derived exosomes (UEs) serve as messengers for maternal-fetal information exchange and cellular regulation. Intravenous remifentanil could be considered as an effective adjunct to epidural anesthesia in providing a favorable analgesia effect for cesarean section (C-section), but its effects on UEs are currently unknown. METHODS: From 01/12/2021 to 30/06/2022, eligible parturients scheduled for repeated C-section at the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University were randomized to receive either an intravenous bolus (0.15 µg/kg) followed by a continuous infusion (0.075 µg/kg/min) of remifentanil or normal saline throughout the procedure. The primary outcome was the number of UEs. Secondary outcomes included the size and protein amount of UEs, the vital signs, visceral pain score, sedation score, maternal satisfaction score, Apgar score, the incidence of neonatal asphyxia, umbilical arterial pH, and the presence of complications. RESULTS: Nanoparticle tracking analysis indicated similar size of UEs between the two groups, but the number and protein amount of UEs were increased in the remifentanil group  compared to the control group (P < 0.05). In parturients receiving remifentanil, visceral pain scores were decreased, which was accompanied by the increased scores of maternal satisfaction with the anesthetic method (P < 0.05). Other maternal and neonatal outcomes were comparable between the two groups (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: The intravenous administration of remifentanil increased the number of UEs in parturients undergoing repeated C-section under epidural anesthesia, with improved birth experience and minimal neonatal complications.

Given the carcinogenic properties of formaldehyde-based chemicals, an alternative method for resin-finishing cotton textiles is urgently needed. Therefore, the primary objective of this study is to introduce a sustainable resin-finishing process for cotton fabric via an industrial procedure. For this purpose, Bluesign® approved a formaldehyde-free Knittex RCT® resin was used, and the process parameters were designed and optimized according to the Taguchi L27 method. XRD analysis confirmed the crosslinking formation between resin and neighboring molecules of cotton fabric, as no change in the cellulose crystallization phase. Several machine learning models were built in a sequence to predict the crease recovery angle (CRA), tearing strength (TE) and whiteness index (WI). Assessment of modelling was evaluated through the use of various metrics such as root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and the coefficient of determination (R2). Results were compared to those from other regression models, such as principal component regression (PCR), partial least squares regression (PLSR), and fuzzy modelling. Based on the results of our research, the LSSVR model predicted the CRA, TE, and WI with substantially more accuracy than other models, as shown by the fact that its RMSE and MAE values were significantly lower. In addition, it offered the greatest possible R2 values, reaching up to 0.9627.

INTRODUCTION: Double-filtration plasmapheresis (DFPP) has been utilized for immunomodulation in kidney transplantation. Anticoagulation is important to maintain circuit patency during DFPP. We aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of regional citrate anticoagulation (RCA) with systemic heparin anticoagulation during DFPP in kidney transplant recipients. METHODS: A retrospective cohort study was conducted to compare the efficacy and safety of RCA (RCA-DFPP) to systemic heparin anticoagulation (Hep-DFPP) for DFPP among kidney transplant recipients in a single tertiary center. RESULTS: A total of 112 sessions of DFPP were performed for 23 subjects, of which 62 sessions were RCA-DFPP and 50 sessions were Hep-DFPP. There were 13 sessions (11.6%) of premature circuit clotting, 10 sessions (16.1%) for RCA-DFPP and 3 sessions (6.0%) for Hep-DFPP (P = .10). All premature circuit clotting episodes occurred in subjects who underwent DFPP through a vascular catheter. Premature circuit clotting was associated with the use of a vascular catheter (odds ratio [OR] 14.2, 95% confidence interval [CI] 2.7-73.7; P < .01) and high postfilter ionized calcium (OR 12.7, 95% CI 1.4-112.5; P < .01). There was no major bleeding event. Hep-DFPP was associated with higher occurrence of hypocalcemia (OR 1.1, 95% CI 1.0-1.2; P < .01) and metabolic acidosis (OR 1.4, 95% CI 1.2-2.0; P = .04), while hypomagnesemia was more common for RCA-DFPP (OR 2.9, 95% CI 1.1-7.4; P = .03). CONCLUSION: Amongst kidney transplant patients who receive DFPP therapy, RCA-DFPP may be comparable to Hep-DFPP for the maintenance of circuit patency. Functioning vascular access is vital in avoiding premature clotting of the circuit. Close monitoring of electrolyte imbalances and coagulopathy related to DFPP is recommended.

Natural materials, especially natural colorants, have achieved global prominence and might be regarded as an environmentally beneficial alternative to hazardous synthetic dyes. The color limitation of natural dyes hinders their application in textiles. The present work aims to prepare more color shades of wool yarns via dyeing with ternary natural dye mixtures without adding mordants. In this study, a sustainable dyeing approach for wool yarn was evaluated with three natural dyes, madder red (MR), gardenia blue (GB), and gardenia yellow (GY), by following an industrial dyeing procedure in the absence of a mordant. In the beginning, a preliminary assessment of dye stabilities was carried out, and it was found that the three natural dyes were sensitive to temperature and acid (degradation tendency). Then, the dyeing behavior was systematically evaluated, including a single natural dye, a binary natural dye mixture, and a ternary natural dye mixture. The results of wool yarn dyeing with a single natural dye show that the dye exhaustion percentage (E%) of MR, GY, and GB was in the ranges of 78.7-94.1%, 13.4-44.1%, and 54.8-68.5%, respectively. The dyeing results of wool yarns dyed with binary and ternary natural dye mixtures (a color triangle framework of dyed wool yarn) were characterized by colorimetric values (L*, a*, b*, C*, h, and K/S), and are presented to enlighten various colorful shades. Finally, color uniformity and colorfastness tests confirmed the vital contribution of natural dyes toward wool yarn coloration. Particularly, colorfastness to washing confirmed the stability of natural dyes with reference to the lower amount of dyes released into the effluent, which is beneficial for the environment. Overall, this study provides a good background for enhancing the industrialization trend of natural dyes by modulating their dyeing scheme.
