RESUMEN

Our study delved into the detailed investigation of Cs2SnBr6double perovskites, focusing on their electrical properties, lattice dynamics, and stability. The direct bandgap for Cs2SnBr6was estimated to be at 2.93 eV. One external translational mode of the Cs+lattice withT2gsymmetry and three internal modes of the octahedral withA1g,Eg, andT2gsymmetries are defined by calculated lattice dynamics, experimental micro-Raman scattering. We show a correlation with first-principles calculations, validating using a band-structured electronic approach to understanding the behavior of charge carriers, and electron-phonon interactions in Cs2SnBr6. We propose that electron-vibration interactions result in self-trapped excitons (STEs) displaying significant Stokes shifts (0.508 eV) and broad-spectrum emission. Understanding the behavior of STEs is fundamental for their optoelectronic applications.

RESUMEN

We used low-temperature reactions to synthesize different-sized CdSe quantum dots (QDs) capped with fatty-acid and phosphine ligands. From the correlation of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses of the synthesized QDs, we observed size-dependent shape anisotropy. In addition, the recorded XRD patterns revealed mixed crystal facets with zinc blende and wurtzite structures in small-sized QDs. Furthermore, from differential absorption (DA) spectra, we extracted the electronic transition energies for different-sized QDs, which were found to be similar to the calculated values of the quantum size levels associated with band mixing of CdSe QDs with a moderate bandgap. We found that the excitonic absorption peaks are increasingly "hidden" with decreasing QD size because of the crystal structure and crystalline quality. The results show good agreement with the obtained diffraction patterns and the estimation errors obtained from the DA spectra.

RESUMEN

We studied the temperature-dependent photoluminescence (PL) and time-resolved PL spectra of multilayer CdTe/ZnTe quantum dots (QDs) to understand their carrier dynamics. We demonstrated a method of enhancing the confinement of carriers in CdTe QDs by modulating the number of stacked layers, leading to enhanced acoustic phonons up to 67 µeV and reducing the optical phonon coupling to 20 meV with an average phonon energy of 20 meV. The temperature-dependent decay time could be explained using a simple model of the thermal redistribution of carrier states. Thermal escape from hole states during multiphonon scattering occurred only at high temperatures, whereas blue shifts and enhanced PL intensity were expected to enhance the electron-phonon coupling and confinement-induced mixing among discrete state and continuum states with separation energies of 3.5-7.4 meV. Time-resolved PL measurements probed the electric field screening effect as a function of the strain distribution in QDs and was established to be 2.5 ± 0.2 MV/cm.

RESUMEN

The influence of the growth conditions of multilayer CdTe/ZnTe quantum dots (QDs) on Si substrate upon their carrier dynamics is studied using intensity integration and broadening photoluminescence. The unusual temperature dependence of the line broadening is explained using a model for interband transitions that involves a lowest discrete electronic state (1Se) with different discrete hole states (1S3/2 and 2S3/2) and a 1P transition. These transitions are expected to play a critical role in both the thermally activated energy and the line broadening of the QDs. We also demonstrate that a thermally activated transition between two different states occurs with band low-temperature quenching, with values separated by 5.8-16 meV. The main nonradiative process is thermal escape assisted by carrier scattering via emission of longitudinal phonons through the hole states at high temperature, with an average energy of 19.3-20.2 meV.

RESUMEN

We investigated the influence of growth conditions on carrier dynamics in multilayer CdTe/ZnTe quantum dots (QDs) by monitoring the temperature dependence of the photoluminescence emission energy. The results were analyzed using the empirical Varshni and O'Donnell relations for temperature variation of the energy gap shift. Best fit values showed that the thermally activated transition between two different states occurs due to band low-temperature quenching with values separated by 5.0-6.5 meV. The addition of stack periods in multilayer CdTe/ZnTe QDs plays an important role in the energy gap shift, where the exciton binding energy is enhanced, and, conversely, the exciton-phonon coupling strength is suppressed with an average energy of 19.3-19.8 meV.

RESUMEN

We report on the carrier transfer and thermal escape in CdTe/ZnTe quantum dots (QDs) grown on a GaAs substrate. The significant emission-energy-dependent decay time at high excitation intensity (35 W/cm2) is attributed to the lateral transfer of carriers in the QDs. At low temperature (< 35 K) and low emission energy (< 2.168 eV), a thermally activated transition occurs between two different states separated by approximately 9 meV, while the main contribution to nonradiative processes is the thermal escape from QDs that is assisted by carrier scattering via the emission of longitudinal phonons through the excited QD states at high temperature, with energies of approximately 19 meV.
