RESUMEN

One of the crucial issues for applying electret/triboelectric power generators in the Internet of Things (IoT) is to take full advantage of specific high voltage signals and enable self-powered sensing. Therefore, inspired by Miura-origami, we present an innovative origami power generator (OPG) constructed from only one piece of electret thin film. The Miura-origami architecture realizes a generator with excellent deformability and stretchability and makes it unnecessary for any auxiliary support structure during the compress-release cycle. Various parameters of the generator are intensively investigated, including the excitation accelerations, excitation displacements, numbers of power generation units and deformation degree of the device. When stimulated with 5.0 g acceleration at 15 Hz frequency, the generator with 8 generation units can obtain an instantaneous peak-to-peak voltage and a remarkable optimum peak power of 328 V and 2152 µW at 50 MΩ, respectively. In addition, the regulable shape and multiple generation modes of the device greatly improve its applicability in various vibration energy collection requirements. Based on the above results, a hexagonal electret generator integrated with six-phase OPGs is developed as a "Buoy on Sky," after which the signal waveforms generated from internal power generators are recognized with 92% accuracy through a neural network algorithm that identifies the vibration conditions of transmission lines. This work demonstrates that a fusion of origami art and energy conversion techniques can achieve a multifunctional generator design satisfying the requirements for IoT applications.

RESUMEN

Circular RNAs (circRNAs), a widespread type of noncoding RNA, are produced by reverse splicing with a circular loop structure. Circ_VCAN (hsa_circ_0073237) acts as a novel circRNA, although its roles in the progression and radioresistance of glioma remain unknown.Expressions of circ_VCAN and microRNA-1183 (miR-1183) were analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR, and the functions of circ_VCAN and irradiate in glioma cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and invasion were assessed using cell counting kit-8, flow cytometry, Wound healing, and Transwell assays. The interaction between circ_VCAN and miR-1183 was validated dual-luciferase reporter assay. Our results revealed that circ_VCAN was significantly upregulated in radioresistant glioma tissues compared with radiosensitive tissues, and that circ_VCAN expression was negatively correlated with miR-1183 expression in glioma tissues. We also determined that circ_VCAN expression was decreased and miR-1183 expression was increased in U87 and U251 cells after irradiation. Both knockdown of circ_VCAN and treatment with miR-1183 mimics inhibited proliferation, migration, and invasion, and accelerated apoptosis of the irradiated U87 and U251 cells. In addition, luciferase reporter assays revealed that circ_VCAN might function as a sponge for miR-1183. Finally, overexpression of circ_VCAN expedited carcinogenesis and reduced glioma radiosensitivity by regulating miR-1183.Circ_VCAN serves as a potential oncogene of glioma by regulating miR-1183, and plays an essential role in the radioresistance of glioma.

RESUMEN

Chemical composition and antioxidant activity of fresh and boiled Chaenomeles speciosa (CS) slices dried by different drying methods were determined. Data were analyzed by principle component analysis and cluster analysis. All dried boiled CS from dried fresh CS slices form main cluster. The results also demonstrated that both drying methods, freeze drying and hot air drying at 60 °C had good potential in the industrial drying of fresh and boiled CS. Fresh CS dried by hot air drying at 60 °C was more suitable for the industrial production.

RESUMEN

Amygdalin can be decomposed into hydrocyanic acid, which is the primary source of Persicae Semen toxicity, by gut flora. Here, the inhibitory activity of ß-glucosidase for test herb extracts was first determined and compared. In turn, optimization of the ratio of substrate and inhibitor in vitro and LD50 values of extracts, serum and liver contents of amygdalin in vivo was measured. Lycii Cortex was found to be the best inhibitory activity for ß-glucosidase. The ratio of amygdalin-to-Lycii Cortex extract of 7.19:8.18 (mmol L-1 /mg mL-1 ) can be relatively suitable for inhibiting ß-glucosidase activity in test in vitro reaction system. After mixed with Lycii Cortex extract, the toxicity of Persicae Semen ethanol extract in mice is significantly reduced and more amygdalin can be absorbed into the bloodstream. The study provides useful information for reducing toxicity of Persicae Semen and suggests how to better use these natural ß-glucosidase inhibitors in the utilization of glycosides and aglycones. RESUMEN

The effects of five different drying processes, air drying (AD), sulphur fumigation drying (SFD), hot air drying (HAD), freeze drying (FD) and microwave drying (MWD) for yams in terms of starch-related properties and antioxidant activity were studied. From the results of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), polarized optical microscopy (POM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), the MWD sample was found to contain gelatinized starch granules. The FD yam had more slow digestible (SDS) and resistant starches (RS) compared with those processed with other modern drying methods. The bioactive components and the reducing power of the dried yams, were lower than those of fresh yam. When five dried samples were compared by principal component analysis, the HAD and SFD samples were observed to have the highest comprehensive principal component values. Based on our results, HAD would be a better method for yam drying than the more traditional SFD.

RESUMEN

Contents of total flavonoids, total phenolics, total triterpenes, total condensed tannin and total saponins in peels, flesh and endocarps of Chaenomeles speciosa (CSP) and Chaenomeles sinensis (CSS) were determined by colorimetric method, while 5 phenolics (vanillic, gallic, chlorogenic, ferulic and p-coumaric acids), 2 triterpenes (oleanolic and ursolic acids), and 3 flavonoids (rutin, catechin and epicatechin) were identified and quantified by high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) and HPLC, and antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities of them also were evaluated as well as their digestive characteristics. In the correlation analysis, total phenolics, vanillic acid, catechin, ursolic acid and oleanolic acid all contribute to DPPH(·) scavenge capacity, gallic acid contributes to total ferric reducing antioxidant power, while total triterpenes, total saponins, chlorogenic acid and ferullic acid contribute to α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. In the principal component analysis, endocarps of CSP and CSS both show better quality than their peels and flesh, respectively. In vitro digestion can increase contents of total flavonoids, total condensed tannin and total saponins, while contents of total phenolics and total triterpenes decreased greatly. Our study would contribute to the full use of discarded parts of the 2 Chaenomeles and be helpful to establish a good foundation for further research of CSP and CSS.
