RESUMEN

In this paper, we investigate the optimal conditions to the boundaries where the unique existence of the solutions to an advection-diffusion-reaction equation is secured by applying the contraction mapping theorem from the study of fixed points. Also, we extract, traveling wave solutions of the underlying equation. To this purpose, a new extended direct algebraic method with traveling wave transformation has been used. Achieved soliton solutions are different functions which are hyperbolic, trigonometric, exponential, and some mixed trigonometric functions. These functions show the nature of solitons. Two and three-dimensional plots are drawn using different values of parameters and coefficients for the comparison and behavior of solitons as combined bright-dark, dark, and bright solitons.

Approximately five billion people do not have access to necessary surgical treatment globally and up to 85% of children in LMICs are affected with conditions requiring surgical care by the age of 15 years. It is crucial to identify common surgical conditions in children in Pakistan to inform healthcare professionals and policymakers for effective resource allocation. This representative cross-sectional household survey conducted on children aged 5-10 years assessed existing surgical diseases and healthcare-seeking behaviors in the two largest provinces (Sindh and Punjab) of Pakistan. The data was collected through a validated cross-sectional survey tool [Surgeons OverSeas Assessment of Surgical Need (SOSAS)]. Caregivers were asked about their child's recent and past surgical conditions in six distinct anatomical regions and pictures were taken of identified conditions after appropriate consent for further diagnosis. Health-seeking behaviors including the kind of treatment sought, the nature of care received, and the reasons for not receiving care were noted. 13.5% of children surveyed reported a surgical condition, with a similar distribution across urban (13.2%) and rural (13.7) areas and the most common cause was trauma. The greatest number of surgical conditions were found to be on the head and neck region (57.7%), while the back accounted for the least number of conditions (1.7%). Our results outline a need for organizing all entities (governmental, non-governmental, and private) involved in child health to ensure efficient resource allocation to cater to existing surgical problems.

The genus Rhododendron is an ancient and most widely distributed genus of the family Ericaceae consisting of evergreen plant species that have been utilized as traditional medicine since a very long time for the treatment of various ailments including pain, asthma, inflammation, cold, and acute bronchitis. The chemistry of polyphenolics isolated from a number of species of the genus Rhododendron has been investigated. During the currently designed study, an in-depth study on the phytochemistry, natural distribution, biosynthesis, and pharmacological properties including their potential capability as free radical scavengers has been conducted. This work provides structural characteristics of phenolic compounds isolated from the species of Rhododendron with remarkable antioxidant potential. In addition, biosynthesis and theranostic study have also been encompassed with the aims to furnish a wide platform of valuable information for designing of new drug entities. The detailed information including names, structural features, origins, classification, biosynthetic pathways, theranostics, and pharmacological effects of about 171 phenolics and flavonoids isolated from the 36 plant species of the genus Rhododendron with the antioxidant potential has been covered in this manuscript. This study demonstrated that species of Rhododendron genus have excellent antioxidant activities and great potential as a source for natural health products. This comprehensive review might serve as a foundation for more investigation into the Rhododendron genus.

Effective congestion control on the internet has been a problem since its inception. Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), being the most widely used transport layer protocol tries to mitigate it using a variety of congestion control algorithms. Cubic, Reno, and Bottleneck Bandwidth and Round-trip propagation time (BBR) are the most deployed congestion controls. BBR v2 is leading the congestion control race with its superior performance in terms of better throughput and lower latency. Furthermore, Active Queue Management (AQM) algorithms try to mitigate the congestion control at the network layer through active buffer control to avoid bufferbloat. The most efficient congestion control occurs when TCP and AQM work together. Indeed, it is the TCP-AQM algorithm "Golden pair" that can result in the most efficient performance. This paper proposes such a novel pair based on our previously tested and published BBR-n (BBR new) with the most effective of the modern AQMs, that completely gels together to provide lower latency in wireless networks based on Wireless N/AC. Real-time experiments were performed using Flent on our physical testbed with BBR-n and modern AQMs such as Fair Queuing (FQ), Constrained Delay (CoDel), Proportional Integral controller Enhanced (PIE), Common Applications Kept Enhanced (Cake) and Flow Queuing Controlled Delay (FQ_CoDel). Various tests done on our physical testbed helped us identify CAKE as the most optimum AQM that fits with our proposed BBR-n while providing optimum throughput and lower latency in 802.11N/AC-based wireless networks.

This work examines the (2+1)-dimensional Boiti-Leon-Pempinelli model, which finds its use in hydrodynamics. This model explains how water waves vary over time in hydrodynamics. We provide new explicit solutions to the generalized (2+1)-dimensional Boiti-Leon-Pempinelli equation by applying the Sardar sub-equation technique. This method is shown to be a reliable and practical tool for solving nonlinear wave equations. Furthermore, different types of solitary wave solutions are constructed: w-shaped, breather waved, chirped, dark, bright, kink, unique, periodic, and more. The results obtained with the variable coefficient Boiti-Leon-Pempinelli equation are stable and different from previous methods. As compared to their constant-coefficient counterparts, the variable-coefficient models are more general here. In the current work, the problem is solved using the Sardar Sub-problem Technique to produce distinct soliton solutions with parameters. Plotting these graphs of the solutions will help you better comprehend the model. The outcomes demonstrate how well the method works to solve nonlinear partial differential equations, which are common in mathematical physics.With the help of this method, we may examine a variety of solutions from significant physical perspectives.

Introduction: This study aimed to explore the clinical effects of blood purification therapy in patients with chronic renal disease, measured by renal function index and inflammation. Methodology: Data were collected from a tertiary care hospital in Pakistan between June 2022 and September 2023. Eighty-four patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis for chronic renal failure were retrospectively included in this cohort. Results: Age, sex, BMI, course of disease, primary disease, and educational level were not related to the response to blood purification treatment. Blood purification therapy positively affected renal function, serological indices, and inflammatory factors (P<0.05). Conclusion: Blood purification therapy can improve toxin clearance and renal function and reduce inflammation. Therefore, the authors can conclude that this is an effective therapy for our population.

The greatest challenges that organisms face today are effective responses or detection of life-threatening environmental changes due to an obvious semblance of stress and metabolic fluctuations. These are associated with different pathological conditions among which cancer is most important. Sirtuins (SIRTs; NAD+-dependent enzymes) are versatile enzymes with diverse substrate preferences, cellular locations, crucial for cellular processes and pathological conditions. This article describes in detail the distinct roles of SIRT isoforms, unveiling their potential as either cancer promoters or suppressors and also explores how both natural and synthetic compounds influence the SIRT function, indicating promise for therapeutic applications. We also discussed the inhibitors/activators tailored to specific SIRTs, holding potential for diseases lacking effective treatments. It may uncover the lesser-studied SIRT isoforms (e.g., SIRT6, SIRT7) and their unique functions. This article also offers a comprehensive overview of SIRTs, linking them to a spectrum of diseases and highlighting their potential for targeted therapies, combination approaches, disease management, and personalized medicine. We aim to contribute to a transformative era in healthcare and innovative treatments by unraveling the intricate functions of SIRTs.

Uncontrolled inflammation is a crucial factor in the development of many diseases. Anti-inflammatory molecules based on natural sources are being actively studied, among which Aristida depressa Retz (Ar.dp) has been traditionally used as a paste to heal inflammation. The present study aimed to evaluate the anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic potential of an ethanolic extract of A. depressa through a battery of in vivo and in vitro models. The ethanolic extract of A. depressa was prepared by maceration and chemically characterized using high-performance liquid chromatography, which revealed the presence of quercetin, vanillic acid, chlorogenic acid, p-coumaric acid, m-coumaric acid, ferulic acid, cinnamic acid, and sinapic acid; its antioxidant capacity was then screened with the DPPH in vitro assay, which indicated moderate scavenging capacity. A protein denaturation assay was next performed to evaluate the in vitro anti-inflammatory potential of Ar.dp, which showed significant inhibition (44.44%) compared to the standard drug (diclofenac sodium), with 89.19% inhibition at a concentration of 1 mg/mL. The in vivo safety profile of Ar.dp was evaluated in accordance with the OECD-425 acute toxicity guidelines and found to be safe up to 5 g/kg. The in vivo anti-inflammatory potentials of Ar.dp were evaluated at three different doses (125, 250, and 500 mg/kg) in acute (carrageenan-induced edema: 84.60%, histamine-induced paw edema: 84%), sub-chronic (cotton-pellet-induced granuloma: 57.54%), and chronic (complete-Freund's-adjuvant-induced arthritis: 82.2%) models. Our results showed that Ar.dp had significant (p < 0.05) anti-inflammatory effects over diclofenac sodium in the acute and chronic models. Histopathology studies indicated reduced infiltration of paw tissues with inflammatory cells in Ar.dp-treated animals. Similarly, Ar.dp showed significant (p < 0.05) analgesic (yeast-induced-pyrexia model: 23.53%) and antipyretic (acetic-acid-induced writhing model: 51%) effects in a time-dependent manner. In silico studies on the interactions of COX-1 and COX-2 with the eight ligands mentioned earlier confirmed the inhibition of enzymes responsible for inflammation and fever. Based on the findings of the present study, it is concluded that Ar.dp has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties that are likely linked to its pharmacologically active phenolic bioactive molecules.

This study introduces a fractional order model to investigate the dynamics of polio disease spread, focusing on its significance, unique results, and conclusions. We emphasize the importance of understanding polio transmission dynamics and propose a novel approach using a fractional order model with an exponential decay kernel. Through rigorous analysis, including existence and stability assessment applying the Caputo Fabrizio fractional operator, we derive key insights into the disease dynamics. Our findings reveal distinct disease-free equilibrium (DFE) and endemic equilibrium (EE) points, shedding light on the disease's stability. Furthermore, graphical representations and numerical simulations demonstrate the behavior of the disease under various parameter values, enhancing our understanding of polio transmission dynamics. In conclusion, this study offers valuable insights into the spread of polio and contributes to the broader understanding of infectious disease dynamics.

MXenes (Mn+1XnTx), a subgroup of 2-dimensional (2D) materials, specifically comprise transition metal carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides. They exhibit exceptional electrocatalytic and photocatalytic properties, making them well-suited for the detection and removal of pollutants from aqueous environments. Because of their high surface area and remarkable properties, they are being utilized in various applications, including catalysis, sensing, and adsorption, to combat pollution and mitigate its adverse effects. Different characterization techniques like XRD, SEM, TEM, UV-Visible spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy have been used for the structural elucidation of 2D MXene. Current responses against applied potential were measured during the electrochemical sensing of the hazardous pollutants in an aqueous system using a variety of electroanalytical techniques, including differential pulse voltammetry, amperometry, square wave anodic stripping voltammetry, etc. In this review, a comprehensive discussion on structural patterns, synthesis, properties of MXene and their application for electrochemical detection of lethal pollutants like hydroquionone, phenol, catechol, mercury and lead, etc. are presented. This review will be helpful to critically understand the methods of synthesis and application of MXenes for the removal of environmental pollutants.

This investigation portrays the phytochemical screening, green synthesis, characterization of Fe and Zn nanoparticles, their antibacterial, anti-inflammation, cytotoxicity, and anti-thrombolytic activities. Four dissimilar solvents such as, n-hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate and n-butanol were used to prepare the extracts of Phlomis cashmeriana Royle ex Benth. This is valued medicinal plant (Family Lamiaceae), native to mountains of Afghanistan and Kashmir. In the GC-MS study of its extract, the identified phytoconstituents have different nature such as terpenoids, alcohol and esters. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by SEM, UV, XRD, and FT-IR. The phytochemical analysis showed that the plant contains TPC (total phenolic content) 297.51 mg GAE/g and TFC (total flavonoid content) 467.24 mg CE/g. The cytotoxicity values have shown that the chloroform, n-butanol and aqueous extracts were more toxic than other extracts. The anti-inflammatory potential of n-butanol and aqueous extracts was found higher than all other extracts. Chloroform and n-hexane extracts have low MIC values against both E. coli and S. aureus bacterial strains. Chloroform and aqueous extracts have great anti-thrombolytic potential than all other extracts. Overall, this study successfully synthesized the nanoparticles and provides evidence that P. cashmeriana have promising bioactive compounds that could serve as potential source in the drug formulation.

BACKGROUND: Maternal undernutrition is a direct risk factor for infant growth faltering. OBJECTIVES: We evaluated the effect of postnatal balanced energy protein (BEP) supplementation in lactating women and azithromycin (AZ) in infants on infant growth outcomes. METHODS: A randomized controlled superiority trial of lactating mother-newborn dyads was conducted in Karachi, Pakistan. Mothers intending to breastfeed their newborns with mid-upper arm circumference of <23 cm and live infants between 0 and 6 d of life were randomly assigned to 1 of 3 arms in a 1:1:1 ratio. Lactating mothers in the control arm received standard-of-care counseling on exclusive breastfeeding, nutrition, infant immunization, and health promotion plus iron-folate supplementation until the infant was 6 mo old. In intervention arm 1, mothers additionally received two 75-g sachets of BEP per day. In intervention arm 2, along with the standard-of-care and BEP to the mother, the infant also received 1 dose of azithromycin (20 mg/kg) at the age of 42 d . The primary outcome was infant length velocity at 6 mo. The total sample size was 957 (319 in each arm). RESULTS: From 1 August, 2018 to 19 May, 2020, 319 lactating mother-newborn dyads were randomly assigned in each arm, and the last follow-up was completed on 20 November, 2020. The mean difference in length velocity (cm/mo) between BEP alone and control was 0.01 (95% confidence interval [CI]: -0.03, 0.06), BEP plus AZ and control was 0.08 (95% CI: 0.03, 0.13), and between BEP + AZ and BEP alone was 0.06 (95% CI: 0.01, 0.11). There were 1.46% (14/957) infant deaths in the trial, and 17.9% (171/957) nonfatal events (injectable treatment and/or hospitalizations) were recorded. CONCLUSIONS: Postnatal maternal BEP supplementation and infant AZ administration could modestly improve infant growth outcomes at 6 mo, suggesting potential benefits in simultaneously addressing maternal and infant undernutrition. This trial was registered at clinicaltrials.gov as NCT03564652.

BACKGROUND: Autosomal recessive primary microcephaly (MCPH) is a rare neurodevelopmental and genetically heterogeneous disorder, characterized by small cranium size (> - 3 SD below mean) and often results in varying degree of intellectual disability. Thirty genes have been identified for the etiology of this disorder due to its clinical and genetic heterogeneity. METHODS AND RESULTS: Here, we report two consanguineous Pakistani families affected with MCPH exhibiting mutation in WDR62 gene. The investigation approach involved Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) gene panel sequencing coupled with linkage analysis followed by validation of identified variants through automated Sanger sequencing and Barcode-Tagged (BT) sequencing. The molecular genetic analysis revealed one novel splice site variant (NM_001083961.2(WDR62):c.1372-1del) in Family A and one known exonic variant NM_001083961.2(WDR62):c.3936dup (p.Val1313Argfs*18) in Family B. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans were also employed to gain insights into the structural architecture of affected individuals. Neurological assessments showed the reduced gyral and sulcal patterns along with normal corpus callosum in affected individuals harboring novel variant. In silico assessments of the identified variants were conducted using different tools to confirm the pathogenicity of these variants. Through In silico analyses, both variants were identified as disease causing and protein modeling of exonic variant indicates subtle conformational alterations in prophesied protein structure. CONCLUSION: This study identifies a novel variant (c.1372-1del) and a recurrent pathogenic variant c.3936dup (p.Val1313Argfs*18) in the WDR62 gene among the Pakistani population, expanding the mutation spectrum for MCPH. These findings emphasize the importance of genetic counseling and awareness to reduce consanguinity and address the burden of this disorder.

This review covers the significance of green banana resistant starch (RS), a substantial polysaccharide. The food industry has taken an interest in green banana flour due to its 30% availability of resistant starch and its approximately 70% starch content on a dry basis, making its use suitable for food formulations where starch serves as the base. A variety of processing techniques, such as heat-moisture, autoclaving, microwaving, high hydrostatic pressure, extrusion, ultrasound, acid hydrolysis, and enzymatic debranching treatments, have made significant advancements in the preparation of resistant starch. These advancements aim to change the structure, techno-functionality, and subsequently the physiological functions of the resistant starch. Green bananas make up the highest RS as compared to other foods and cereals. Many food processing industries and cuisines now have a positive awareness due to the functional characteristics of green bananas, such as their pasting, thermal, gelatinization, foaming, and textural characteristics. It is also found useful for controlling the rates of cancer, obesity, and diabetic disorders. Moreover, the use of GBRS as prebiotics and probiotics might be significantly proved good for gut health. This study aimed at the awareness of the composition, extraction and application of the green banana resistant starch in the future food products.

Increasing microplastic (MP) pollution, primarily from anthropogenic sources such as plastic film mulching, waste degradation, and agricultural practices, has emerged as a pressing global environmental concern. This review examines the direct and indirect effects of MPs on crops, both in isolation and in conjunction with other contaminants, to elucidate their combined toxicological impacts. Organic fertilizers predominantly contain 78.6% blue, 9.5% black, and 8.3% red MPs, while irrigation water in agroecosystems contains 66.2% white, 15.4% blue, and 8.1% black MPs, ranging from 0-1 mm to 4-5 mm in size. We elucidate five pivotal insights: Firstly, soil MPs exhibit affinity towards crop roots, seeds, and vascular systems, impeding water and nutrient uptake. Secondly, MPs induce oxidative stress in crops, disrupting vital metabolic processes. Thirdly, leachates from MPs elicit cytotoxic and genotoxic responses in crops. Fourthly, MPs disrupt soil biotic and abiotic dynamics, influencing water and nutrient availability for crops. Lastly, the cumulative effects of MPs and co-existing contaminants in agricultural soils detrimentally affect crop yield. Thus, we advocate agronomic interventions as practical remedies. These include biochar input, application of growth regulators, substitution of plastic mulch with crop residues, promotion of biological degradation, and encouragement of crop diversification. However, the efficacy of these measures varies based on MP type and dosage. As MP volumes increase, exploring alternative mitigation strategies such as bio-based plastics and environmentally friendly biotechnological solutions is imperative. Recognizing the persistence of plastics, policymakers should enact legislation favoring the mitigation and substitution of non-degradable materials with bio-derived or compostable alternatives. This review demonstrates the urgent need for collective efforts to alleviate MP pollution and emphasizes sustainable interventions for agricultural ecosystems.

BACKGROUND: Floral transition in cereals is a critical phenomenon influenced by exogenous and endogenous signals, determining crop yield and reproduction. Flowering Locus T-like (FT-like) genes encode a mobile florigen, the main signaling molecule for flowering. RESULTS: In this study, we characterized two FT-like genes, FTL9 and FTL10, to study their functional diversity in flowering control in rice. We compared independent mutant lines of ftl10 with WT and observed negligible differences in the flowering phenotype, or agronomic traits implying potentially redundant roles of FTL10 loss-of-function in flowering control in rice. Nevertheless, we found that overexpression of FTL10, but not FTL9, substantially accelerated flowering, indicating the flowering-promoting role of FTL10 and the divergent functions between FTL9 and FTL10 in flowering. Besides flowering, additive agronomic roles were observed for FTL10-OE regulating the number of effective panicles per plant, the number of primary branches per panicle, and spikelets per panicle without regulating seed size. Mechanistically, our Y2H and BiFC analyses demonstrate that FTL10, in contrast to FTL9, can interact with FD1 and GF14c, forming a flowering activation complex and thereby regulating flowering. CONCLUSION: Altogether, our results elucidate the regulatory roles of FTL9 and FTL10 in flowering control, unveiling the molecular basis of functional divergence between FTL10 and FTL9, which provides mechanistic insights into shaping the dynamics of flowering time regulation in rice.

Exposure to heavy metals in various populations can lead to extensive damage to different organs, as these metals infiltrate and bioaccumulate in the human body, causing metabolic disruptions in various organs. To comprehensively understand the metal homeostasis, inter-organ "traffic," and extensive metabolic alterations resulting from heavy metal exposure, employing complementary analytical methods is crucial. Metabolomics is pivotal in unraveling the intricacies of disease vulnerability by furnishing thorough understandings of metabolic changes linked to different metabolic diseases. This field offers exciting prospects for enhancing the disease prevention, early detection, and tailoring treatment approaches to individual needs. This article consolidates the existing knowledge on disease-linked metabolic pathways affected by the exposure of diverse heavy metals providing concise overview of the underlying impact mechanisms. The main aim is to investigate the connection between the altered metabolic pathways and long-term complex health conditions induced by heavy metals such as diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, renal disorders, inflammation, neurodegenerative diseases, reproductive risks, and organ damage. Further exploration of common pathways may unveil the shared targets for treating associated pathological conditions. In this article, the role of metabolomics in disease susceptibility is emphasized that metabolomics is expected to be routinely utilized for the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases and practical value of biomarkers derived from metabolomics, as well as determining their appropriate integration into extensive clinical settings.

RESUMEN

Solitary wave solutions are of great interest to bio-mathematicians and other scientists because they provide a basic description of nonlinear phenomena with many practical applications. They provide a strong foundation for the development of novel biological and medical models and therapies because of their remarkable behavior and persistence. They have the potential to improve our comprehension of intricate biological systems and help us create novel therapeutic approaches, which is something that researchers are actively investigating. In this study, solitary wave solutions of the nonlinear Murray equation will be discovered using a modified extended direct algebraic method. These solutions represent a uniform variation in blood vessel shape and diameter that can be used to stimulate blood flow in patients with cardiovascular disease. These solutions are newly in the literature, and give researchers an important tool for grasping complex biological systems. To see how the solitary wave solutions behave, graphs are displayed using Matlab.

In this manuscript, the well-known stochastic Burgers' equation in under investigation numerically and analytically. The stochastic Burgers' equation plays an important role in the fields of applied mathematics such as fluid dynamics, gas dynamics, traffic flow, and nonlinear acoustics. This study is presented the existence, approximate, and exact stochastic solitary wave results. The existence of results is shown by the help of Schauder fixed point theorem. For the approximate results the proposed stochastic finite difference scheme is constructed. The analysis of the proposed scheme is analyzed by presented the consistency and stability of scheme. The consistency is checked under the mean square sense while the stability condition is gained by the help of Von-Neumann criteria. Meanwhile, the stochastic exact solutions are constructed by using the generalized exponential rational function method. These exact stochastic solutions are obtained in the form of hyperbolic, trigonometric and exponential functions. Mainly, the comparison of both numerical and exact solutions are analyzed via simulations. The unique physical problems are constructed from the newly constructed soliton solutions to compare the numerical results with exact solutions under the presence of randomness. The 3D and line plots are dispatched that are shown the similar behavior by choosing the different values of parameters. These results are the main innovation of this study under the noise effects.

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to assess the longevity of serologic response and seroconversion rates at several time points following TCV vaccination among children living with HIV aged 6 months to 15 years in Pakistan. METHODS: From November 20, 2020, to January 2, 2021; 336 children were enrolled and followed up prospectively for 12 months. Blood samples were collected before the administration of TCV and at 4-6 weeks, 6 months, and 1 year after administration of a single dose (0.5 ml) of intramuscular Typbar TCV®. Samples were analyzed for anti-Vi-IgG antibodies using ELISA. Geometric mean titers (GMTs), seroconversion rates (fourfold rise in anti-Vi-IgG from baseline) were assessed, and factors associated with sustained seroconversion at 1 year were evaluated using generalized linear mixed models. FINDINGS: The seroconversion rates were significantly lower in children aged 6 months to 5 years compared to children > 5 years; (127/216 (58·8%)) versus (81/111 (73·0%)) at 6 months and (110/217 (50·7%)) versus (78/109 (71·6%)) at 1 year, only two-third; 188/326 (57·7%) remained seroconverted at 1 year. The GMTs (95 % CI) were significantly lower in children aged 6 months to 5 years compared to children > 5 years, 9·6 (7·6, 12·0) versus 28·9 (20·2, 41·4) at 6 months, and 6·6 (5·4, 8·0) versus 23·1 (16·4, 32·5) at 1 year time point. The odds of sustained seroconversion significantly decreased with time (adjusted odds ratio (aOR): 0.23; 95 % CI: 0.14, 0.40). The odds of sustained seroconversion following 1 year of TCV vaccination were significantly higher among children with non-severe HIV clinical disease (aOR: 10·61; 95% CI: 1·52, 73·98) and children in elder age group (aOR: 7·45; 95% CI: 1·18, 47·03). CONCLUSIONS: A significant decrease in seroconversion rates was observed among children living with HIV following one year of TCV administration. The decline was significantly higher in children with severe or advanced HIV clinical disease and children younger than five years of age.
