RESUMEN

Therapeutic use of electroconvulsive shock (ECS) is 75% effective for the remission of treatment-resistant depression. Like other more common forms of antidepressant treatment such as fluoxetine, ECS has been shown to increase neurogenesis in the hippocampal dentate gyrus of rodent models. Yet the question of how ECS-induced neurogenesis supports improvement of depressive symptoms remains unknown. Here, we show that ECS-induced neurogenesis is necessary to improve depressive-like behavior of mice exposed to chronic corticosterone (Cort). We then use slice electrophysiology to show that optogenetic stimulation of adult-born neurons produces a greater hyperpolarization in mature granule neurons after ECS vs Sham treatment. We identify that this hyperpolarization requires the activation of metabotropic glutamate receptor 2 (mGluR2). Consistent with this finding, we observe reduced expression of the immediate early gene cFos in the granule cell layer of ECS vs Sham subjects. We then show that mGluR2 knockdown specifically in ventral granule neurons blunts the antidepressant-like behavioral effects of ECS. Using single nucleus RNA sequencing, we reveal major transcriptomic shifts in granule neurons after treatment with ECS+Cort or fluoxetine+Cort vs Cort alone. We identify a population of immature cells which has greater representation in both ECS+Cort and fluoxetine+Cort treated samples vs Cort alone. We also find global differences in ECS-vs fluoxetine-induced transcriptomic shifts. Together, these findings highlight a critical role for immature granule cells and mGluR2 signaling in the antidepressant action of ECS.

Microglia are brain-resident macrophages that shape neural circuit development and are implicated in neurodevelopmental diseases. Multiple microglial transcriptional states have been defined, but their functional significance is unclear. Here, we identify a type I interferon (IFN-I)-responsive microglial state in the developing somatosensory cortex (postnatal day 5) that is actively engulfing whole neurons. This population expands during cortical remodeling induced by partial whisker deprivation. Global or microglial-specific loss of the IFN-I receptor resulted in microglia with phagolysosomal dysfunction and an accumulation of neurons with nuclear DNA damage. IFN-I gain of function increased neuronal engulfment by microglia in both mouse and zebrafish and restricted the accumulation of DNA-damaged neurons. Finally, IFN-I deficiency resulted in excess cortical excitatory neurons and tactile hypersensitivity. These data define a role for neuron-engulfing microglia during a critical window of brain development and reveal homeostatic functions of a canonical antiviral signaling pathway in the brain.

Introduction: The intricate endeavor of replanting the distal phalanx of the finger remains a persistent challenge. In the pursuit of addressing this concern, microsurgical replantation procedures have been systematically examined for distal phalanx injuries encircling the distal interphalangeal (DIP) joint, conducted at the Orthopaedic Hospital situated in Ho Chi Minh City. Materials and Methods: This investigation encompassed a cohort of 31 patients, comprising individuals with 17 instances of complete and 21 instances of incomplete amputations of the distal phalanges. The subjects' ages spanned a range from 3 to 56 years. Results: The study divulged that eight fingers, involving four complete amputations and four incomplete amputations, did not achieve successful outcomes. In contrast, the remaining 30 fingers exhibited survival. A meticulous long-term follow-up of 17 fingers, extending over a period exceeding six months, unveiled commendable achievements encompassing satisfactory sensory recovery, cosmetic enhancement, and the resumption of pre-injury occupational activities by the patients. Discussion: Vein anastomosis was revealed as a notably challenging aspect of the surgical procedures. In scenarios where conventional vein suturing was rendered unfeasible, the innovative recourse of one-way drainage emerged as a viable alternative. Conclusion: The endeavor to replant the distal phalanx of the finger engenders a substantial level of complexity, particularly in the realm of venous anastomosis. This research underscores the need for focused efforts to address and surmount the intricacies associated with this aspect of surgical intervention.

Background: Intertrochanteric fractures are highly prevalent among the elderly population, with approximately 90% occurring in individuals aged over 65. These geriatric fractures are associated with elevated mortality rates and significant functional impairment. Common treatment modalities for unstable intertrochanteric fractures include proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) and the InterTan nail (IT). PFNA and IT are frequently employed due to their lower failure rates and favorable biomechanical properties, resulting in positive clinical outcomes for the management of unstable intertrochanteric fractures. The unique design of the IT nail, featuring two cephalocervical screws within an integrated mechanism, permits linear intraoperative compression and rotational stability of the neck and head fragment. In this study, we assess the clinical outcomes of IT nail utilization in the treatment of intertrochanteric fractures at the Hospital for Traumatology and Orthopedics. Methods: This study comprises a retrospective analysis and case series report. Between February 2021 and August 2021, we retrospectively evaluated 35 patients who underwent treatment with the IT nail for unstable intertrochanteric fractures. Epidemiological data, operative duration, intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative blood transfusion requirements, length of hospital stay, bone healing rates, and IT nail-related complications were recorded. Results: The mean age of the patients was 70.97 ± 16.97 years, with a mean operative time of 60 minutes, mean intraoperative blood loss of 160.86 ± 72.8 ml, mean intraoperative blood transfusion volume of 203.43 ± 189.29 ml, and a mean hospital stay of 7 days. Bone healing was observed in 97.14% of cases. Conclusions: The treatment of unstable intertrochanteric fractures using the IT nail in elderly patients was successful. Our findings indicate favorable clinical outcomes in terms of surgical duration, intraoperative blood loss, hospitalization duration, and union rates for elderly patients. Further investigations are warranted to validate these early results.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to synthesize the available evidence on probiotic administration during pregnancy for the prevention of preeclampsia and its effects on related maternal, fetal, and newborn outcomes. DATA SOURCES: Six databases were systematically searched for eligible studies, namely Ovid MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, Cochrane, Global Index Medicus, and the Maternity and Infant Care Database, from inception to August 2, 2023. STUDY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Randomized controlled trials that evaluated the effects of probiotic administration on women during any stage of pregnancy were eligible for inclusion. METHODS: The protocol was registered with the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews under identifier CRD42023421613. Evaluating study eligibility, extracting data, assessing risk of bias (ROB-2 tool), and rating certainty (Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluations) were conducted independently by 2 authors. The primary outcomes were incidence of preeclampsia, eclampsia, and maternal mortality. A meta-analysis was performed, and the results were reported as risk ratios with 95% confidence intervals. RESULTS: A total of 29 trials (7735 pregnant women) met the eligibility criteria. There was heterogeneity across the trials in the population of enrolled women and the type of probiotic tested (20 different strains), although most used oral administration. Probiotics may make no difference to the risk of preeclampsia (risk ratio, 1.14; 95% confidence interval, 0.84-1.53; 11 trials; 2401 women; low certainty evidence), preterm birth at <37 weeks' gestation (risk ratio, 0.93; 95% confidence interval, 0.66-1.30; 18 trials, 4016 women; low certainty evidence), or gestational age at delivery (mean difference, -0.03 weeks [≈0.2 days]; 95% confidence interval, -0.16 to 0.10 weeks [≈ -1.1 to 0.7 days]; 13 trials, 2194 women; low certainty evidence). It is difficult to assess the effects of probiotics on other secondary outcomes because the evidence was of very low certainty, however, no benefits or harms were observed. CONCLUSION: Limited evidence suggests that probiotic supplementation does not affect the risk for preeclampsia. Further high-quality trials are needed to definitively assess the benefits and possible harms of probiotic supplementation during pregnancy. There is also a lack of data from trials that included women who were undernourished or who experienced microbial dysbiosis and for whom probiotic supplementation might be useful.

BACKGROUND: Interrupted time series (ITS) studies contribute importantly to systematic reviews of population-level interventions. We aimed to develop and validate search filters to retrieve ITS studies in MEDLINE and PubMed. METHODS: A total of 1017 known ITS studies (published 2013-2017) were analysed using text mining to generate candidate terms. A control set of 1398 time-series studies were used to select differentiating terms. Various combinations of candidate terms were iteratively tested to generate three search filters. An independent set of 700 ITS studies was used to validate the filters' sensitivities. The filters were test-run in Ovid MEDLINE and the records randomly screened for ITS studies to determine their precision. Finally, all MEDLINE filters were translated to PubMed format and their sensitivities in PubMed were estimated. RESULTS: Three search filters were created in MEDLINE: a precision-maximising filter with high precision (78%; 95% CI 74%-82%) but moderate sensitivity (63%; 59%-66%), most appropriate when there are limited resources to screen studies; a sensitivity-and-precision-maximising filter with higher sensitivity (81%; 77%-83%) but lower precision (32%; 28%-36%), providing a balance between expediency and comprehensiveness; and a sensitivity-maximising filter with high sensitivity (88%; 85%-90%) but likely very low precision, useful when combined with specific content terms. Similar sensitivity estimates were found for PubMed versions. CONCLUSION: Our filters strike different balances between comprehensiveness and screening workload and suit different research needs. Retrieval of ITS studies would be improved if authors identified the ITS design in the titles.

Background: Irrecoverable radial nerve palsy (RNP) leads to the inability to extend the wrist and fingers and significant reduction in grip strength. The aim was to assess the outcomes of treating non-recovering motor RNP using the modified Merle d'Aubigné tendon transfer method. Materials and Methods: A descriptive prospective study involved 33 patients between January 2017 and March 2019. Results: Males constituted the majority (32/33 cases, 97%). The ratio of radial nerve and posterior interosseous nerve injuries was nearly equivalent (16/17). The mean extension range of the wrist was 48.6° ± 14.9° during finger extension and 30.9° ± 14.4° during finger flexion. The mean flexion range of the wrist was 34.8° ± 15.8° during finger extension and 42.6° ± 14.8° during finger flexion. 93.9% of patients achieved full finger extension when the wrist joint was extended beyond 10°. The mean angulation range of the index finger was 55.3° ± 7.4°. The Kapanji score achieved was 8.4 ± 1.2. The achieved grip strength was 65.4% compared to the unaffected side. The surgery did not induce radial deviation deformities of the wrist joint. 32/33 patients were satisfied with the surgical outcomes. 31/33 patients returned to their previous professions. 93.9% of patients achieved very good and good results, while 6.1% achieved fair results. Conclusion: Treating irrecoverable radial nerve palsy using the modified Merle d'Aubigné tendon transfer method yields very good results. The utilization of the pronator teres for wrist extensor transfer and the flexor carpi radialis for finger extensor transfer is appropriate and contributes to limiting wrist joint radial deviation deformities. This modified technique has been researched and recommended by various authors worldwide.

Purpose: Radial dysplasia, also termed radial club hand is an abnormality along the longitudinal axis of the hand characterized by hypoplasia or aplasia of radial structures. Surgery that centralize the wrist on the distal end of the ulna gives quite good results in terms of anatomical recovery but affecting range of motion of the wrist and fingers, limbs length. We conducted this study to evaluate the outcome of serial casting followed by centralization at our institution. Materials and methods: We conducted a prospective study involving 20 pediatric patients with 25 limbs affected by Bayne Types III and IV radial dysplasia, with an average follow-up period of 4.2 years. Each limb underwent progressive soft tissue stretching via serial casting, followed by centralization. Clinical and radio-graphic data were collected at surgery and during follow-up assessments. Results: The study achieved an average correction of 60° in radial deviation, with a decrease in wrist range of motion from 79° to 28° over the follow-up period. Finger mobility showed increased stiffness. Ulnar length recovery reached 57% of the normal contra-lateral side. Final results, based on the Bayne and Klug criteria, revealed that 24 out of 25 hands (96%) exhibited good or satisfactory outcomes. Conclusion: Early intervention employing gradual corrective casting followed by centralization is an effective treatment for radial dysplasia in children, consistently resulting in good or satisfactory outcomes. However, this approach entails a trade-off with reduced wrist and finger range of motion and potential implications for limb growth.

It is unique in the genus in having an oblong-elliptic spathe limb with an obtuse apex and yellowish-greenish filiform staminodes with a down-curved acumen. The ecology, distribution and assessment of the conservation status of the new taxon, as well as a key to all known Typhonium species in Vietnam, are provided.

OBJECTIVE: Care bundles are a promising approach to reducing postpartum hemorrhage-related morbidity and mortality. We assessed the effectiveness and safety of care bundles for postpartum hemorrhage prevention and/or treatment. DATA SOURCES: We searched MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane CENTRAL, Maternity and Infant Care Database, and Global Index Medicus (inception to June 9, 2023) and ClinicalTrials.gov and the International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (last 5 years) using a phased search strategy, combining terms for postpartum hemorrhage and care bundles. STUDY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Peer-reviewed studies evaluating postpartum hemorrhage-related care bundles were included. Care bundles were defined as interventions comprising ≥3 components implemented collectively, concurrently, or in rapid succession. Randomized and nonrandomized controlled trials, interrupted time series, and before-after studies (controlled or uncontrolled) were eligible. METHODS: Risk of bias was assessed using RoB 2 (randomized trials) and ROBINS-I (nonrandomized studies). For controlled studies, we reported risk ratios for dichotomous outcomes and mean differences for continuous outcomes, with certainty of evidence determined using GRADE. For uncontrolled studies, we used effect direction tables and summarized results narratively. RESULTS: Twenty-two studies were included for analysis. For prevention-only bundles (2 studies), low-certainty evidence suggests possible benefits in reducing blood loss, duration of hospitalization, and intensive care unit stay, and maternal well-being. For treatment-only bundles (9 studies), high-certainty evidence shows that the E-MOTIVE intervention reduced risks of composite severe morbidity (risk ratio, 0.40; 95% confidence interval, 0.32-0.50) and blood transfusion for bleeding, postpartum hemorrhage, severe postpartum hemorrhage, and mean blood loss. One nonrandomized trial and 7 uncontrolled studies suggest that other postpartum hemorrhage treatment bundles might reduce blood loss and severe postpartum hemorrhage, but this is uncertain. For combined prevention/treatment bundles (11 studies), low-certainty evidence shows that the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative care bundle may reduce severe maternal morbidity (risk ratio, 0.64; 95% confidence interval, 0.57-0.72). Ten uncontrolled studies variably showed possible benefits, no effects, or harms for other bundle types. Nearly all uncontrolled studies did not use suitable statistical methods for single-group pretest-posttest comparisons and should thus be interpreted with caution. CONCLUSION: The E-MOTIVE intervention improves postpartum hemorrhage-related outcomes among women delivering vaginally, and the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative bundle may reduce severe maternal morbidity. Other bundle designs warrant further effectiveness research before implementation is contemplated.

Two previously unreported isoflavonoids, placoisoflavones A and B (1 and 2), along with five known compounds, calopogonium isoflavone B (3), jamaicin (4), 6-methoxycalopogonium isoflavone A (5), vestitol (6), and caviunin (7) have been isolated from the stems of Placolobium vietnamense N.D.Khôi & Yakovlev. The structures of all isolated compounds were fully characterized using spectroscopic data and comparison with the previous literature. The cytotoxicity of all isolated compounds was evaluated against HepG2 cell line, and compound 1 showed the most potent cytotoxicity with an IC50 value of 8.0 µM.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the risk of bias due to missing evidence in a sample of published meta-analyses of nutrition research using the Risk Of Bias due to Missing Evidence (ROB-ME) tool and determine inter-rater agreement in assessments. STUDY DESIGN AND SETTING: We assembled a random sample of 42 meta-analyses of nutrition research. Eight assessors were randomly assigned to one of four pairs. Each pair assessed 21 randomly assigned meta-analyses, and each meta-analysis was assessed by two pairs. We calculated raw percentage agreement and chance corrected agreement using Gwet's Agreement Coefficient (AC) in consensus judgments between pairs. RESULTS: Across the eight signaling questions in the ROB-ME tool, raw percentage agreement ranged from 52% to 100%, and Gwet's AC ranged from 0.39 to 0.76. For the risk-of-bias judgment, the raw percentage agreement was 76% (95% confidence interval 60% to 92%) and Gwet's AC was 0.47 (95% confidence interval 0.14 to 0.80). In seven (17%) meta-analyses, either one or both pairs judged the risk of bias due to missing evidence as "low risk". CONCLUSION: Our findings indicated substantial variation in assessments in consensus judgments between pairs for the signaling questions and overall risk-of-bias judgments. More tutorials and training are needed to help researchers apply the ROB-ME tool more consistently.

In the context of the thriving real estate market in developing countries like Vietnam, understanding consumer preferences and effectively addressing them through a comprehensive multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) framework is paramount for real estate providers. This study presents a two-stage MCDM model that integrates the Delphi technique and the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) based on Spherical Fuzzy Sets (SFSs). Initially, the SF-Delphi technique validates critical criteria influencing customers' apartment selection in Vietnam. Secondly, the SF-TOPSIS method evaluates the top ten apartment providers. To ensure robustness and validity, a comparative analysis compares the results with those from the Intuitionistic Fuzzy TOPSIS (IF-TOPSIS) and Fuzzy TOPSIS (F-TOPSIS) methods. Subsequently, five rank correlation coefficients (Spearman, Kendall, Goodman-Kruskal, Weighted rank measure of correlation, Weighted Similarity) are used to assess the relationships between various TOPSIS techniques applied to apartment suppliers in Vietnam. The correlation coefficients demonstrate strong agreement among the TOPSIS methods, with the smallest coefficient being 0.7778, surpassing the threshold of 0.7. This high level of consistency confirms the efficacy of the proposed TOPSIS approach with different Fuzzy Sets in reliably evaluating customers' preferences for apartment suppliers. Notably, the legal aspect's prominence underscores its critical role in shaping customer choices, emphasizing the significance of considering legal factors in the context of apartment supply and demand in Vietnam. Furthermore, using SFSs makes this approach particularly suited to capture consumer perceptions within the dynamic and uncertain business environment characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA).

BACKGROUND: Sample self-collection for reproductive tract infection diagnosis has been found to offer greater convenience, privacy, autonomy, and expanded access to testing in non-pregnant adults. This review aimed to determine whether sample self-collection is as accurate as provider-collection for detection of group B streptococcus colonisation in pregnancy and whether a strategy of self-collection compared to provider-collection might improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes. METHODS: We searched CINAHL Plus, Medline, EMBASE, Maternity and Infant Care Database, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews in June 2022. Eligible studies compared self-collected and provider-collected samples taken from the same participants or participants randomised to either self-collection or provider-collection for reproductive tract infection testing using the same test and testing method in pregnant individuals. We included trials and observational studies. Reviewers assessed risk of bias using the QUADAS-2 checklist and independently extracted data. Sensitivity and specificity for group B streptococcus colonisation of self-collected compared to provider-collected samples were pooled using a bivariate, random-effects, meta-analytic model. This review was registered with PROSPERO (CRD42023396573). RESULTS: The search identified 5909 references, of which eleven diagnostic accuracy group B streptococcus studies were included (n = 3269 participants). No studies assessed the effects of self-collection in pregnancy on health outcomes. All studies had high or unclear risk of bias. Pooled sensitivities of self-collected samples for group B streptococcus detection were 82% (95% CI: 66-91%; I2 = 68.85%) in four trials (n = 1226) and 91% (95% CI: 83-96%; I2 = 37.38%) in seven non-randomised studies (n = 2043). Pooled specificities were 99% (95% CI: 98-99%; I2 = 12.08%) and 97% (95% CI: 94-99%; I2 = 72.50%), respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Self-collected samples for group B streptococcus detection in pregnancy had high specificity compared to provider-collection, but lower sensitivity, particularly for included trials. Studies investigating the effect of self-collection on health outcomes, and further higher quality trials comparing accuracy of self-collection to provider-collection, are required.

Silicon carbide has a planar two-dimensional structure; therefore it is a potential material for constructing twisted bilayer systems for applications. In this study, DFT calculations were performed on four models with different twist angles. We chose angles of 21.8°, 17.9°, 13.2°, and 5.1° to estimate the dependence of the electronic and phononic properties on the twist angle. The results show that the band gap of bilayer SiC can be changed proportionally by changing the twist angle. However, there are only small variations in the band gaps, with an increment of 0.24 eV by changing the twist angle from 5.1° to 21.8°. At four considered twist angles, the band gaps decrease significantly when fixing the structure of each layer and pressing the separation distance down to 3.5 Å, 3.0 Å, 2.7 Å, and 2.5 Å. A noteworthy point is that the pressing also makes the band linearly smaller at a certain rate regardless of the twist angles. Meanwhile, the phonon bands are not affected by the value of the twist angle. RESUMEN

Machilus thunbergii has a history of traditional applications including treating dyspepsia, apoplexy, headaches, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, and leg edema [1]. It is also employed for alleviating allergies, inflammation, pain relief, promoting blood circulation, addressing costal chondritis, and sinusitis [2]. Research into the chemical composition of M. thunbergii has revealed the presence of lignans, flavonoids, lactones, and essential oils [1,[3], [4], [5]. While some investigations have explored the inhibitory effects of extracts and lignan compounds from this species on NO production [6], [7], [8], there has been no research into the flavonoids isolated from this plant and their potential for inhibiting NO production, given our reachable referencing. The ethyl acetate (EtOAc) soluble fraction of M. thunbergii leaves was subjected to column chromatography (CC) using silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 for compound isolation. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) data primarily facilitated the determination of isolated compound structures. Anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced nitric oxide (NO) production in macrophage RAW264.7 cells. Anti-inflammatory activity-guided fractionation led to the isolation of twelve secondary metabolites (1-12). The compounds were identified as quercetin (1), kaempferol (2), rhamnetin (3), quercitrin (4), hyperoside (5), reynoutrin (6), guaijaverin (7), afzelin (8), astragalin (9), rutin (10), kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside (11), and rhamnetin-3-O-rutinoside (12). Compounds 3, 5, 6, 9, 11, and 12 were isolated from M. thunbergii for the first time. Evaluation against LPS-induced NO production in macrophage RAW264.7 cells showed that 1-3 exhibited potent inhibitory activity with IC50 values of 15.45, 25.44, and 19.82 µM, respectively. Compounds 4-9 demonstrated IC50 values ranging from 42.15 to 67.42 µM, while 10-12 exhibited inactivity (IC50 > 100 µM).

Aspergillus flavus (A. flavus) and Aspergillus niger (A. niger) mainly spread through airborne fungal spores. An effective control to impede the dissemination of the spores of Aspergillus in the air affecting the environment and food was carried out. This study focuses on the sustainable rice husk-extracted lignin, nanolignin, lignin/n-lignin capped silver nanoparticles used for fungal growth inhibition. These biomaterials inhibit the growth of fungi by altering the permeability of cell membranes and influencing intracellular biosynthesis. The antifungal indexes for A. flavus and A. niger on day 5 at a concentration of 2000 µg/100 µL are 50.8 and 43.6%, respectively. The results demonstrate that the hybrid biomaterials effectively prevent the growth or generation of fungal spores. The findings of this research hold significant implications for future investigations focused on mitigating the dissemination of Aspergillus during the cultivation of agricultural products or in the process of assuring agricultural product management, such as peanuts and onions.

Background: Early detection and localization of myocardial infarction (MI) can reduce the severity of cardiac damage through timely treatment interventions. In recent years, deep learning techniques have shown promise for detecting MI in echocardiographic images. Existing attempts typically formulate this task as classification and rely on a single segmentation model to estimate myocardial segment displacements. However, there has been no examination of how segmentation accuracy affects MI classification performance or the potential benefits of using ensemble learning approaches. Our study investigates this relationship and introduces a robust method that combines features from multiple segmentation models to improve MI classification performance by leveraging ensemble learning. Materials and Methods: Our method combines myocardial segment displacement features from multiple segmentation models, which are then input into a typical classifier to estimate the risk of MI. We validated the proposed approach on two datasets: the public HMC-QU dataset (109 echocardiograms) for training and validation, and an E-Hospital dataset (60 echocardiograms) from a local clinical site in Vietnam for independent testing. Model performance was evaluated based on accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity. Results: The proposed approach demonstrated excellent performance in detecting MI. It achieved an F1 score of 0.942, corresponding to an accuracy of 91.4%, a sensitivity of 94.1%, and a specificity of 88.3%. The results showed that the proposed approach outperformed the state-of-the-art feature-based method, which had a precision of 85.2%, a specificity of 70.1%, a sensitivity of 85.9%, an accuracy of 85.5%, and an accuracy of 80.2% on the HMC-QU dataset. On the external validation set, the proposed model still performed well, with an F1 score of 0.8, an accuracy of 76.7%, a sensitivity of 77.8%, and a specificity of 75.0%. Conclusions: Our study demonstrated the ability to accurately predict MI in echocardiograms by combining information from several segmentation models. Further research is necessary to determine its potential use in clinical settings as a tool to assist cardiologists and technicians with objective assessments and reduce dependence on operator subjectivity. Background: Perindopril is an ACE inhibitor that aids in both blood pressure regulation and homocysteine reduction. Objectives: Our study aimed to evaluate the results of controlling blood pressure and blood homocysteine levels by perindopril in patients with primary hypertension. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study with a longitudinal follow-up was conducted on 105 primary hypertensive patients treated with perindopril. Results: The results of our study showed that after 6 weeks of treatment with perindopril, the proportion of patients with the target blood pressure (BP) level accounted for 70.5%, the rate of grade 1 hypertension decreased from 61.0% to 25.7%, grade 2 blood pressure decreased from 17.1% to 3.8%, and there was no case of grade 3 hypertension. At the same time, we also found that the rate of BP control in the group of patients who controlled Hcy below a threshold of 15 µmol/L was significantly higher than in the other group (p < 0.05). Concerning the efficacy of decreasing homocysteine in blood, we discovered that after 6 weeks of treatment with perindopril, the proportion of patients with elevated homocysteine reduced considerably from 74.3% to 40% (p < 0.05). In addition, the homocysteine concentration was 4.33 mol/L lower after treatment than before treatment (95% CI: 3.69-4.97) (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Perindopril helps control blood pressure and reduces blood homocysteine levels in patients with primary hypertension.

All-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs) using solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) are believed to be future next-generation batteries aiming to replace high-risk traditional batteries using liquid electrolytes, which have a wide application range in portable electronic devices, portable power supplies, and especially in electric vehicles. Moreover, the appearance of SPEs can overcome the electrolyte leakage and flammability problems in conventional lithium-ion batteries. Nevertheless, ASSLBs still face some limitations due to the low ionic conductivity of solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) at room temperature and the poor contact electrode/electrolyte interface, which can be solved by suitable strategies. Currently, the research strategies of metal-organic frameworks that can be incorporated into solid polymer electrolytes offer a remarkable method for producing uniform solid polymer electrolytes that have good electrode/electrolyte contact interfaces and high ionic conductivity. Herein, the updates of current studies about metal-organic framework-incorporated composite solid polymer electrolytes are discussed in this mini-review.
