RESUMEN

The present study has demonstrated that the children suffering from chronic post-traumatic knee-joint synovitis after arthroscopy develop an aseptic inflammatory process in the joints associated with the disturbances of local microcirculation, manifestations of sclerosis and fibrosis in the articular soft tissues. An algorithm for the treatment of synovitis in the postoperative period with the use of galvanic muds has been developed. The estimation of the clinical efficacy of this physiotherapeutic method was performed based on the results of routine medical examination, dynamic ultrasound investigation, and dynamic computed termography.

RESUMEN

This study investigated changes of systemic and intracardiac hemodynamics under effect of mud application at different temparatures (10, 20-24, and 36 degrees C) in patients with osteoarthrosis and concomitant hypertensive disease and coronary heart disease. It is concluded that combined treatment of this condition should include low-temperature peloidotherapy as a major component since it has the most beneficial effect on general and intracardiac hemodynamics.

RESUMEN

A comparative trial was made of a therapeutic effect of low-temperature (10-24 degrees C) and hot (37 degrees C) applications of mud in osteoarthrosis (OA) patients. Hot applications are highly effective in OA but are contraindicated for patients with synovitis because of the risk of exacerbations. Low-temperature peloids have advantages over standard hot peloids in the treatment of synovitis, in concomitant lymphovenous insufficiency, cardiovascular diseases.
