RESUMEN

In patients with atherosclerosis of coronary vessels, particular features of antioxidative homeostasis which reflect dynamic balance between reactions of peroxide oxidation of lipids and those of the antioxidant system were studied. Different mechanisms have been revealed of maintenance of antioxidative homeostasis in patients with atherosclerosis of coronary vessels depending on the type of lipid abnormalities. In calculating the coefficient of significance (Kj) formulas have been deduced of significant parameters of antioxidative homeostasis in those atherosclerotic patients revealing normolipidemia, dyslypoproteidemia, type II and IV, that can be used as additional diagnostic and prognostic criteria for the course of the atherosclerotic process.

RESUMEN

The natural compounds which are present in vegetable oils were investigated by absorption and three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy. It was found that some of these components could be used as internal markers for identification and quantitative analysis of vegetable oils. The presence of specific fluorophores permits to develop an individual fluorescent "finger-print" criteria for all the studied oils, which can be used for detection of product falsification.

RESUMEN

Content of primary and secondary products of lipid peroxidation; fat soluble vitamins: A, E, carotene, tocopherol's metabolites and total antioxidative activity were investigated in experiments with serum blood of donors and sick people with the acute surgical trauma. It was showed that during the critical states of sick people there is watched the strain of adaptive systems of the whole organism with the resource mobilisation of fat soluble vitamins and appearance of signs of their exhaustion, modification of the direction of metabolism of the unsaturated fat acids from certain formation of eicosanoids to the avalanche looking lipid peroxidation with the accumulation of poisonous products in blood. Also there intensify the formation of active tocopherol's metabolites, what is necessary for the re-establishment of the violative balance in the system of antioxidative protection.

RESUMEN

Structural and functional changes in thymocytes, splenocytes and hepatocytes, taking place under gamma-irradiation of cellular suspensions were investigated. It was found that splenocytes begin to lose their functional activity and structural features at a dose of 2 Gy. Increasing the irradiation dose leads to the acceleration of these processes. Thymocytes lose rapidly their functional activity at 2 Gy, but they maintain their structure and membrane parameters even after irradiation with a dose of 10 Gy. In comparison with other cell types, hepatocytes exhibit the greatest stability under the influence of gamma-radiation.

RESUMEN

An experimental study was made on wheat-germ oil as a source of easily assimilable vitamin E. In rats, the above oil intake results in a rapid increase in the content of vitamin E in the brain, liver, heart, lungs, kidneys, and spleen. There has been studied a change in the intensity of lipid peroxidation processes. It is shown that in oral administration wheat germ oil efficiently saturates the body with vitamin E. In all tissues, the work of the [symbol: see text]-tocopherol redox-system is noted to be stimulated, LPO inhibited, with eicosanoid synthesis proceeding under immediate control of the system of fat-soluble vitamins. The total state of dynamic equilibrium in the LPO-AOA system has effectively shifted to the side of predominance of the AD system components. The total tissue AOA remained stable in most organs.

RESUMEN

The influence of ionising irradiation with doses of 0.5, 1, 2 Gy upon the suspension of mice thymocytes was studied. The state of the system of lipid peroxidation-antioxidation activity and structural and functional state of cell membrane was studied. It was found that, 15 minutes' after irradiation POL processes are within the norm. But the content of vitamins A and E decreases (the former after 0.5 Gy, the latter after 1 Gy). Changes in structural and functional state of thymocyte membranes can be observed by using fluorescent probes. Particularly, it turned out that after irradiation accessibility of incorporated proteins increases, the polarity of lipids increases and the lipophility of membrane lipids decreases. These changes can lead to short-time increase in specific functional activity of cells, but they can cause rapid death of cells as well.

RESUMEN

Antioxidative homeostasis was investigated in blood plasma and lymphocytes of patients with hypertonic disease (stage II). The intensification of lipid peroxidation was accompanied by accumulation of polyenic fatty acid derivatives and toxic dialdehydes and also by mobilization of lipid soluble vitamins. Vitamin E is probably involved into direct binding of toxic LPO products. Such changes provide high antioxidant activity and normal functioning of lymphocytes.

RESUMEN

The changes of peculiarities thymocytes membranes after the UV actions on the suspension cells were investigated. The POL intensivity; content the carotene, vitamins A,E and its metabolites were determined. The state of membrane lipids and proteins was observed by fluorescent zondes. After 15 min of UV action form of the humoral activity products of POL was increased; the redox system of vitamin E was mobilized; the membranes proteins was opened; the neutral lipid fraction in membranes was decreased, and its polarity was increased. After 25 min of UV action was observed: the stimulation of the first and second steps of POL; decreased of AO activity; more opened of membranes proteins; more increased of polarity lipids and reform of lipofility of membranes. This changes lay in the base of activity and passivity of thymocytes by UV.

RESUMEN

In experiments in albino rats, effects were studied of nitrobenzene and its chloro derivatives in intragastric administration with tocoferolum acetatum. Changes in the process of lipid peroxidation in blood serum, liver, and spleen which were characteristic of xenobiotics themselves have been shown to be less pronounced in this setting. Tocoferolum acetatum being administered at the same time is actively drawn into the metabolism. Normalization of the antioxidant activity of the tissues under investigation was to be observed, with lipid peroxidation and the antioxidant system being in equilibrium. Tocoferolum acetatum administered with xenobiotics has been shown to have a protective action. Tocoferolum acetatum is recommended to be included into diets for workers engaged in chemical industry on a prophylactic basis.

RESUMEN

The 45-day's action of nutritional radionuclides (137Cs, 90Sr, 40K) by inside organism irradiation at doses: 0.16 sGy, 0.55 cGy, 5.5 cGy was investigated. The blood, muscles, heart, kidneys, lung, liver, brain, spleen and testis were studied. The content of dienes, trienes, oxodienes, tetraenes conjugates and malondialdehyde were researched. The level of dienes increased in blood and kidneys; MDA--in spleen than more, that more of dose irradiation. Content of oxodienes, trienes and tetraenes (the biological activity eicosanoids) decreased at kidneys, lung, brain and spleen. At total, these parameters by organism's adaptational systems controlled at physiological conditions.

RESUMEN

The effect of SHF radiation on the content of A and E vitamins in tissues of rat brain, liver and testis was studied. Among the tissues examined, the brain was found to be most sensitive to weak SHF radiation. The radiation induced a change in the ratio of A and E vitamins in the brain, which, in turn, increased the probability of damage to cell membranes. In the liver, the tocopherol level after irradiation remained unchanged, and in the testis it increased insignificantly. This suggests a high resistance of the antioxidant systems of liver and testis tissues.

RESUMEN

The antioxidative activity of homogenates and lipids isolated from the brain, heart and liver was studied. The model of thermal autoxidation of linetolum in the presence of specimens studied was used. The antioxidative activity of lipids from the heart is higher than that of lipids from the brain. Ischemia of the organs leads to a practically complete loss of these qualities. The contribution of lipids to the general antioxidative activity of the tissue depends on the organ peculiarities. The contribution of lipids from the brain to the general activity is almost 10 times higher than that of lipids from the liver.

RESUMEN

The experiment on white Wistar rats 3-, 12- and 24 months old was carried out to study antioxidative activity in homogenates of the pancreas, adrenal glands, testes, muscles, heart and in lipids isolated from these tissues. The data were obtained in the model of thermal autooxidation of homogenates and lipids as well as during autooxidation of linethol in the presence of the samples studied. kinetics of peroxidation of tissue lipids, their effect on linethol oxidation rate and content of total lipids in the tissues were estimated. Contribution of the lipids to the total antioxidative activity of the tissue varies with age. Tissue properties of the parameters in question are observed as well as active participation of all the tissues studied in the support of the antioxidative homeostasis in the organism. Intensity of the participation depended on the age of animals.

RESUMEN

Nitrobenzene, o-nitrochlorobenzene and p-nitrochlorobenzene were studied in experiments with rats for their effect on intensity of lipid peroxidation (LPO), antioxidative activity (AOA), vitamin E content in the spleen and liver tissues as well as on certain hematological parameters of animals. These substances, when applied in acute experiments, deteriorate hematological parameters, intensify LPO in the spleen tissues. In this case AOA and vitamin E concentration grow. Subchronic action promotes stabilization of the studied parameters, which testifies to active adaptation of the organism to action of the above xenobiotics, as well as to high significance of the antioxidative homeostasis regulation system in the process.

RESUMEN

The authors studied the rate of lipid peroxidation, antioxidative activity and content of vitamin E in the liver and spleen of rats given nitrobenzene, o-nitrochlorbenzene and p-nitrochlorbenezene. The xenobiotics increased LPO, antioxidative activity (AOA), splenic levels of vitamin E. The subchronic influence of the substances led to stabilization of LPO, changes in the activation of the body's adaptation. The AOA and vitamin E play an important role in the regulation of antioxidative homeostasis.

RESUMEN

In experiments with mature Wistar male rats under irradiation by dose of 5 Gy the effect of emoxypine, citomedine and echinacea purpurea on the content of liposoluble vitamin A, carotene, vitamin E and its metabolites (quinone and oxidized tocopherol) in blood plasma, spleen, liver and testes was studied. It was shown the drugs under study mobilized the internal reserves of these vitamins and promoted effective functioning of vitamin E redox system. Mechanisms of their action are different. The drugs might be used as radioprotectors, but they exhaust the reserves of the liposoluble vitamins. Therefore they should be used in a combination with vitamin preparations.

RESUMEN

The chronic effect of electrostatic field has been studied in experiments on adult female Wistar rats. It is shown, that under these conditions the stability of erythrocyte membranes decreases, that causes their earlier hemolysis. The level of calcium and iron in blood increases, that is correlated with changes in the urea content. In the brain iron content decreases, while urea increases. The obtained results reflect the active establishment of dynamic equilibrium in conformity with this influence.

RESUMEN

The change in alpha-tocopherol content (as an index of the antioxidative organism system mobilization) in the brain, liver, muscles and heart of rats prior to and after total gamma-irradiation with lethal dose has been studied. Prior to the irradiation alpha-tocopheryl-acetate (oil solution), alpha-tocopheryl-phosphate dipotassium salt (water solution), gammaphos (prepared WR 2721, water solution) were introduced into rats. It is shown that water-soluble form of vitamin E is more effective than gammaphos and much more efficient than oil form of alpha-tocopherol.
