RESUMEN

Background: The nursing work in the operating room is heavy, intensive, and irregular, and the quality of nursing work can directly affect the surgical effect and patient prognosis. Therefore, nursing management in the operating room should be strengthened to protect patients' life safety effectively. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of applying the 6S management model in operating room nursing. Design: This was a retrospective study. Setting: This study was conducted at the Department of Anesthesia Surgery, Nanfang Hospital, Southern Medical University. Participants: The research included 100 operating room nurses on duty between January 2020 and December 2022. Intervention: From January 2020 to June 2021, the hospital conducted routine training programs for nurses in the operating room. From July 2021 to December 2022, the hospital adopted the 6S management model for overseeing nursing work in the operating room. Primary Outcome Measures: (1) nursing quality score (2) nursing staff safety awareness (3) nursing disputes and complaints (4) incidence of adverse reactions (5) patient satisfaction with the quality of nursing care. Results: Following the adoption of the 6S management model, there was a noticeable improvement in the nursing quality scores, the nursing staff's awareness of safety, and the satisfaction levels of patients with the quality of care provided by operation nurses (P < .05). Additionally, the incidence of nursing disputes, complaints, and adverse events among patients decreased significantly compared to before the implementation of 6S (P = .01). Conclusion: Implementing 6S management with a focus on the work of operation room nurses enhanced the competence of the nursing staff and improved management effectiveness, ultimately leading to increased patient satisfaction.

In this study, researchers developed a novel composite material called NH2-MIL-53-Al/PAN, which consists of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) grown on electrospun PAN nanofibers (NFs). The successful formation of the composite was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), and the hydrophilicity of NH2-MIL-53-Al/PAN was demonstrated by the water contact angle (WCA). Batch experiments were conducted to investigate the adsorption performance of Co(II) under different conditions. The maximum adsorption capacity reached 58.72 mg/g, and almost 95% of the adsorption was achieved within the first 6 h. The adsorption process was found to be spontaneous and endothermic and followed the pseudo-second-order kinetics and Langmuir models. Chemisorption and molecular layer adsorption are the main mechanisms of adsorption, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis further reveals that the interaction between the adsorbent and cobalt is a coordination interaction. In this study, NH2-MIL-53-Al was grown in situ on PAN to ensure effective loading of MOFs and prevent agglomeration during the NF mixing process. This approach successfully addressed the challenge of exposing active sites within the embedded MOF crystals. Additionally, it overcame the difficulty of recycling traditional MOF adsorbents. As a result, the exceptional performance of MOF NFs offers a promising solution for the efficient removal of cobalt-containing wastewater.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the correlation between positional skull deformation (PD) and motor performance of infants under 4 months of age. METHODS: Infants aged under 4 months were enrolled in the children's healthcare and the premature infants follow-up Clinic of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Army Military Medical University. The cranial vault asymmetry (CVA) and cephalic index (CI) were calculated in all infants, and the infant motor performance test (TIMP) was used to evaluate the infant motor performance. The motor performances of infants with different types and degrees of PD were compared, so were the incidences of PD in infants with different motor performance levels. RESULTS: Overall, 2118 infants were recruited and divided according to the types of PD and TIMP scores. The comparison of TIMP scores within different types of PD at different months of age showed that, regardless of the types of PD, TIMP scores of infants with PD were lower than those of normal infants. In particular, the difference in TIMP scores was statistically significant (P < 0.05) in infants with dolichocephaly, plagiocephaly,dolicho-plagiocephaly and brachy-plagiocephy. In addition, the comparison of CVA values of infants with different TIMP score levels at different months of age showed that the CVA values of the extremely low-level group were significantly higher than those of the medium-level and high-level group, especially in the 3-month-old and 4-month-old groups, which showed significant statistical differences (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: PD and motor performance of infants aged under 4 months seem to interact and influenc each other. The more serious the severity of PD were,the worse the motor performance of infants. Conversely, the incidence of PD increased in infants with poor motor performance.

In this work, a novel metal-organic frameworks (MOFs)-based ion-imprinted polymer (MIIP) was prepared to remove Co(II) from simulated radioactive wastewater. The batch experiments indicated that the sorption was well described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic and Langmuir models, and it is monolayer chemisorption. The theoretical maximum sorption capacity was estimated to be 181.5 mg∙g-1, which is by far the reported maximum value of Co(II) sorption by the imprinted materials. The MIIP presented an excellent selectivity for Co(II) in the presence of common monovalent and divalent metal ions, and the selectivity coefficients were 44.31, 33.19, 10.84, 27.71, 9.45, 16.25, and 7.60 to Li(I), K(I), Mg(II), Ca(II), Mn(II), Ba(II), and Cd(II), respectively. The sorption mechanism was explored by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) technology and density functional theory (DFT) calculations, suggesting that Co(II) was adsorbed by the MIIP via the chelation of 4-vinylpyridine (VP) ligands with Co(II), which was a spontaneous process, and the optimal coordination ratio of VP to Co(II) was 6. This work suggested that the MIIP has a high sorption capacity and excellent selectivity for Co(II), which is of great significance for the selective separation of Co-60 from radioactive wastewater.

A mesoporous zeolite-activated carbon composite (Z-AC) was prepared by hydrothermal synthesis method for both ammonia-nitrogen (NH3-N) and methylene blue (MB) removal from aqueous solution. For Z-AC with the reparation temperature of 90 °C and kaolin/AC = 4, the adsorption capacity of MB (754.75 mg/g, 298 K) was 83% of that for pure AC, and the adsorption capacity of NH3-N were 9.00 mg/g, which was higher than that for AC and Z (the kaolin after hydrothermal treatment). The Z-AC exhibited obvious mesoporous structure, the SBET of the Z-AC (378 cm2/g) was 31% of that for AC (1215 cm2/g). The introduction of a small amount of AC into Z increased the SBET of Z, thus, the adsorption capacity of MB was improved dramatically. On the other hand, the dispersion of Z was enhanced by adding AC, which promoted the contact between Z and NH3-N, and then led to improvement of the NH3-N adsorption.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the differences between the Test of Infant Motor Performance (TIMP) data from the infants at 38-58 weeks of postconceptual age in three hospitals in Chongqing, China and the America norms, and to provide a reference for the introduction and application of TIMP in China. METHODS: TIMP was used to assess 642 infants with 38-58 weeks of postconceptual age who visited the departments of preterm infants or child healthcare in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Army Medical University, Shapingba Maternal and Child Health Hospital in Chongqing, and Chongqing Maternal and Child Health Hospital between January and December, 2016. The assessment scores were analyzed and compared with the America norms. RESULTS: The TIMP scores increased with the increasing postconceptual age, with 37±5 points in the 38-39+6 week group and 83±12 points in the 56-57+6 week group. All age groups had a significantly lower mean score than the America norms (P<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: TIMP scores can reflect the motor performance in infants with various postconceptual ages. The TIMP scores from the infants with a postconceptual age of 38-58 weeks in three hospitals in Chongqing are significantly different from the America norms, suggesting that it is very necessary in China to establish the Chinese norms for assessing motor performance in infants using TIMP.
