Pediatric anesthesia is one of the most concerning topics in our society. However, there is still a lack of a comprehensive overview of the research base and of future trends. This study aimed to guide beginners quickly learn the academic research on pediatric anesthesia and do their own studies by analyzing the articles of this field in the latest 21 years through bibliometric analysis. Literature scanning was conducted with the Web of Science database. Microsoft Excel, SPSS, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace were in this review. There was an increasing trend of articles on pediatric anesthesia, based on the analysis of 11,591 included articles. The top 3 most productive countries were the United States of America (4538), Canada (730) and Turkey (688). The most productive institutions were Boston Childrens hospital, Childrens Hospital Philadelphia and Ohio State University. Tobias, Joseph D (141), Kim, Hee-Soo (40) and Curley, Martha A Q (38) were the most active authors. Habre W (2017), Gross JB (2002) and Cravero JP (2009) are the articles cited more than 100 times during the analysis years. Anesthesia and Analgesia, Anesthesiology, Pediatric Anesthesia, were the core journals in this field. Cohort, simulation, sleep, postoperative complication are strongest burst keywords in recent years. This article summarizes the authoritative institutions, authors, literatures and frontier hotspots on pediatric anesthesia. Itwill be a valuable literature review and help beginners to quickly get started in the field, reduce unnecessary clueless and aimless learning, and greatly improve learning efficiency.

Introduction: Dental anxiety is a multivariate phenomenon that regularly occurs during a dental procedure. Although it may lead to patients' safety concerns and adverse events in routine treatment, it is often ignored. The purpose of this research is to develop a novel WeChat Applet for dental anxiety (WADA) with the following features and aims: (1) to help patients with dental anxiety management; (2) provide patient with a physical status self-evaluation; and(3) provide a platform for online assessment and tele-consultancy by dentists. We aimed to test and verify whether such an applet could play a beneficial role before and after a dental procedure and facilitate management of high-risk patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and methods: During the 12-month survey period (August 2020 to July 2021), a total of 180 patients aged 3-74 years from eight different cities (n = 180 at the end of treatment, n = 25 for the System Usability Scale (SUS) and follow-up interview) and 20 medical staff from eight different cities (n =20 for follow-up interview) were evaluated by WADA. At the end of the survey period, the results of the interviews were analyzed thematically. Results: WADA assessment results from 180 patients and follow-up interview results from 45 participants were analyzed. In this study with a male to female ratio of 2:3, 75% were found to be suffering from dental anxiety, 86% were found with postoperative complications, and 11 cases were found to have contraindications to surgery. The total SUS score for WADA is 72.25 above the mean score, proving that WADA is a relevant and useful tool before and after dental treatment. Based on the results of the interviews, the following themes were identified: patient satisfaction; dentists' effectiveness; multi-center data integration; and increase its frequency of usage. Conclusions: The WADA was developed for dental procedures and is effective for reducing treatment risks, improving patients' satisfaction and dentists' convenience, especially in terms of facilitating management of high-risk patient during the COVID-19 pandemic.

INTRODUCTION: Nalbuphine can relieve patients' inflammation response after surgery compared to other opioid drugs. However, its molecular mechanism has not been clear. Activation of NF-κB signaling pathway under oxidative stress and inflammation can maintain pain escalation. METHODS: We firstly investigated the effect of nalbuphine on writhing test and mechanical allodynia using a rat model of inflammatory visceral pain (acetic acid (AA) administrated). Cytokines (including tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, Interleukin (IL)-1ß, IL-2, and IL-6 in plasma were tested with ELISA technology. Expression levels of TNF-α, IκBα and p-NF-κB p65 at the spinal cord (L3-5) were measured by western blot or RT-qPCR. RESULTS: We found that the paw withdrawal threshold (PWT) values of rats were reduced in the model group, while the numbers of writhing, levels of IL-1ß, IL-2, IL-6, and TNF-α in plasma, and p-NF-κB protein and its gene expressions in the lumbar spinal cord were up-regulated. Subcutaneously injection of nalbuphine (10 µg/kg) or PDTC (NF-κB inhibitor) attenuated acetic acid-induced inflammatory pain, and this was associated with reversal of up-regulated IL-1ß, IL-2, IL-6, and TNF-α in both plasma and spinal cord. Furthermore, acetic acid increased p-NF-κB and TNF-α protein levels in the white matter of the spinal cord, which was attenuated by nalbuphine. These results suggested that nalbuphine can significantly ameliorate inflammatory pain via modulating the expression of NF-κB p65 as well as inflammation factors level in the spinal cord. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, nalbuphine inhibits inflammation through down-regulating NF-κB pathway at the spinal cord in a rat model of inflammatory visceral pain.
