RESUMEN
The vertical integration of two-dimensional (2D) materials through weak van der Waals (vdW) interactions is gaining tremendous attention for application in nanotechnology and photovoltaics. Here, we performed first-principles study of the electronic band structure, optical and photocatalytic properties of vertically stacked heterostructures based on boron pnictides BX (X = As, P) and SiS monolayers. Both heterobilayers possess a stable geometry and reveal type I band alignment with a direct band gap, indicating substantial transfer of charge across the junction of the same layer. Interestingly, a redshift is found in the visible light region of the optical absorption spectra of BX-SiS heterobilayers. The comparatively larger hole mobility (14 000 cm2 V-1 s-1) of BP-SiS preferably allows hole conduction in the zigzag-direction. More importantly, the excellent band edge values of the standard redox potential and smaller Gibbs free energy for the adsorption of hydrogen (ΔGH*) make them ideal for performing the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) mechanism under solar irradiation. These findings offer exciting opportunities for developing next-generation devices based on BX-SiS heterobilayers for promising applications in nanoelectronics, optoelectronic devices and photocatalysts for water dissociation into hydrogen to produce renewable clean energy.

RESUMEN
The present study was aimed to evaluate the antioxidant potential and inhibitory effect of Cannabis sativa and Morus nigra against lipid peroxidation in goat brain and liver homogenates. The formation of free radicals, highly reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS) is a normal metabolic process for cellular signaling and countering the antigens. However, they may cause serious damage if they produced at amplified tolls. In addition, metabolic disorders also serve as sources of these reactive species. Although the issue can be addressed through supplements and other phytochemicals. In this study, two plant species were evaluated for their biological potential by employing a spectrum of antioxidant assays. The antioxidant activity was performed by lipid peroxidation assay. The water extract prepared from leaves of Cannabis sativa and Morus nigra showed significant (P<0.05) inhibition as compared to control i.e., 522.6±0.06 and 659.97±0.03 µg/mL against iron-induced lipid peroxidation in goat brain homogenate while the inhibitions were 273.54±0.04 and 309.18±0.05 µg/mL against nitroprusside induced lipid peroxidation of the brain. The iron and nitroprusside induced lipid peroxidation was also significantly inhibited by leaf extracts of Cannabis sativa and Morus nigra in liver homogenates such as 230.63±0.52 and 326.91±0.01 µg/mL (iron-induced) while 300.47±0.07 and 300.47±0.07 µg/mL (nitroprusside induced), respectively. The extracts of Cannabis sativa extract showed promising activity (96.04±0.060%) against DPPH radicals while Morus nigra showed a moderate activity (34.11±0.120%). The results suggest that different accessions of Cannabis sativa and Morus nigra are a potential source of antioxidants and have a therapeutic effect against disease induced by oxidative stress and hence can be used for novel drug discovery and development.

To establish the role of periodontal pathobionts as a risk factor for myocardial infarction, we examined the contribution of five periodontal pathobionts and their virulence genes' expressions to myocardial injury (Troponin-I) and coronary artery disease burden (SYNTAX-I scores) using hierarchical linear regression. Pathobiont loads in subgingival-plaques and intra-coronary-thrombi were compared. Troponin-I release increased with one 16S rRNA gene copy/ng DNA of Porphyromonas gingivalis (ß = 6.8 × 10-6, 95% CI = 1.1 × 10-7-2.1 × 10-5), one-fold increased expressions of fimA (ß = 14.3, 95% CI = 1.5-27.1), bioF-3 (ß = 7.8, 95% CI = 1.1-12.3), prtH (ß = 1107.8, 95% CI = 235.6-2451.3), prtP (ß = 6772.8, 95% CI = 2418.7-11,126.9), ltxA (ß = 1811.8, 95% CI = 217.1-3840.8), cdtB (ß = 568.3, 95% CI = 113.4-1250.1), all p < 0.05. SYNTAX-I score increased with one 16S rRNA gene copy/ng DNA of Porphyromonas gingivalis (ß = 3.8 × 10-9, 95% CI = 3.6 × 10-10-1.8 × 10-8), one-fold increased expressions of fimA (ß = 1.2, 95% CI = 1.1-2.1), bioF-3 (ß = 1.1, 95% CI = 1-5.2), prtP (ß = 3, 95% CI = 1.3-4.6), ltxA (ß = 1.5, 95% CI = 1.2-2.5), all p < 0.05. Within-subject Porphyromonas gingivalis and Tannerella forsythia from intra-coronary-thrombi and subgingival-plaques correlated (rho = 0.6, p < 0.05). Higher pathobiont load and/or upregulated virulence are risk factors for myocardial infarction.Trial registration: ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT04719026.

INTRODUCTION: Tumors of the uterine tube are rare pathologies representing less than 1 % of all gynecologic cancers; they are dominated by adenocarcinomas. Secondary metastatic forms are the most frequent, whereas primary tumors are very rare and represent only 10 %, which suggests that the fallopian tube is an organ with low oncogenic potential. CASE REPORT: We report the case of a patient followed in the gynecology department C of the CHU IBN ROCHD CASA for a primary tubal adenocarcinoma, with a history of breast cancer. DISCUSSION: The diagnosis of its origin is difficult preoperatively, the treatment and staging are the same as for ovarian cancer. CONCLUSION: The treatment is also identical to the management of ovarian cancer, but their prognosis is better because they are most often diagnosed at an earlier stage.

Chitosan is a naturally occurring polysaccharide derived from chitin with a wide range of uses. Phthalocyanines are macroheterocyclic compounds that have a number of useful properties such as coloring and catalytic and antioxidant activity. Phthalocyanines are able to immobilize on chitosan, forming complexes with new useful properties. In this work, we evaluated the ability of phthalocyanines to increase the thermal stability of chitosan. Chitosan (CS) forms complexes with copper(II)-(CuPc) and cobalt(II)-(CoPc) tetrasulphophthalocyanines. The processes of destruction of chitosan (CS) and its complexes with sulphophthalocyanines CuPc and CoPc in oxidizing and inert atmospheres have been studied. It was established that, regardless of the atmosphere composition, the first chemical reactions taking place in the studied systems are elimination reactions. The latter ones in the case of chitosan and complex CS-CuPc lead to the formation of spatially crosslinked polymer structures, and it causes the release of CuPc from the polymer complex. It was found that in the case of CS-CoPc elimination reactions did not lead to the formation of crosslinked polymer structures but caused the destruction of the pyranose rings with a partial release of CoPc. Metallophthalocyanines showed antioxidant properties in the composition of complexes with chitosan, increasing the temperature of the beginning of glycosidic bond cleavage reaction by 30-35 °C in comparison with the similar characteristics for chitosan.

The complexation processes of chitosan with cobalt(II)tetrasulfophthalocyanine (CoPc) and copper(II)tetrasulfophthalocyanine (CuPc) were studied calorimetrically in solution. It was established that CoPc forms two types of complexes with chitosan, while CuPc forms a single type of complex with chitosan, in which copper(II)tetrasulfophthalocyanine is in dimerized form. The complexes are thermodynamically stable, which was allowed to study them in a solid form by different methods. Joint application of DSC and TG/DTG methods allowed us to identify the temperature intervals for evaporation of physically and chemically bounded water and thermal decomposition of chitosan and its complexes. The glass transition temperature of chitosan (110.8⯰C) is greater than the glass transition temperature of the complexes with CuPc (74.7⯰C) and CoPc (71.2⯰C). Using SEM images and X-ray data of heated, unheated chitosan and its complexes, it was shown that the complexes are predominantly amorphous. Heating of chitosan and its leads to increasing of amorphous phase. Modification of chitosan by phthalocyanines leads to decreasing of thermal stability of complexes insignificantly.

The current study was designed to determine the role of the host genes involved in the development of chronic hepatitis C-associated type 2 diabetes mellitus. This study was carried out in patients in four different stages of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, including treatment-naïve HCV patients, HCV-positive patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), non-responders and responders. The mRNA expression level of host genes, such as glucose-6-phosphatase (G6Pase), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) and different adipokines including adiponectin, leptin and resistin, was quantified and compared to healthy controls. HCV infection was found to be associated with insulin resistance, a step towards type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The results also suggest the potential role of adipokines in chronic HCV (CHC)-associated T2DM. The upregulation of gluconeogenic genes, such as G6Pase and resistin, and a decreased mRNA expression level of adiponectin suggest the potential role of selected markers in the CHC-associated T2DM in Pakistani population. Based on these results, it is concluded that upregulation of TNF-α, G6Pase and resistin in chronic HCV patients leads to gluconeogenesis, eventually favoring T2DM. Collectively, these findings suggest that CHC patients are more prone to T2DM.

Abstract Nanoparticles are known bio elicitors in plant biotechnology. Different concentrations of ZnO, CuO and CoO nanoparticles were used for the enhanced accumulation of secondary metabolites and antioxidant activities in the callus derived from root, shoot and leaf of Artemisia annua L. Biomass of callus was somehow affected on high concentrations of Nps. Phenolic content was observed maximum (60µg) in shoot callus at 0.1mg/l of CuONps. Total antioxidant activity was observed maximum (33µg) in root callus at 0.1mg/l of ZnOnps. Total reducing power maximum (33µg) was observed in root callus at concentration of 0.05 mg/l of CoONps. Maximum radical scavenging activity was observed in shoot callus at 0.05mg/l of ZnONps. Rutin gallic acid and caffic acid were also determined in most of the samples by HPLC. The study concludes that different Nps have positive effect on the induction of secondary metabolites in A.annua plant.
Thermal stability of polyvinyl alcohol/cellulose nanocrystals (PVA/CNCs) composites prepared with solution casting technique was studied. The PVA/CNCs composites were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and thermogravimetric (TG) analysis. Due to the presence of CNCs nanoparticles, thermal degradation of the composites occurs at much higher temperatures compared to that of the neat PVA. Thermal stability of the PVA/CNCs composites is maximally enhanced with CNCs content of 8-12 wt%. Some thermal degradation products of the PVA/CNCs composites were identified by mass spectrometric analysis. TG measurements with synchronous recording of mass spectra revealed that the thermal degradation of both CNCs and PVA in the composites with CNCs content of 8-12 wt% occurs simultaneously at a much higher temperature than that of CNCs or the neat PVA. However, with increasing CNCs content more than 12 wt% the thermal stability of the composites decreases. In this case, the degradation of CNCs comes first followed by the degradation of PVA.
