RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: to map and synthesize the main evidence on the use of bioelectrical impedance (BIA) and its variables in the assessment of sarcopenia in community-dwelling older adults. METHODS: This is a scoping review carried out by searching for articles available in four databases: PUBMED, LILACS, Web of Science and CINAHL, with the following search strategy: Body Composition AND Sarcopenia AND ″electric impedance'' OR ″bioelectrical impedance analysis'' AND Aged. RESULTS: A total of 27,660 older adults made up the sum of the samples of the included studies. Most studies included participants of both sexes (75.6%), used the variable skeletal and/or appendicular skeletal muscle mass (ASMM) (75.6%), followed by body fat (8.1%), and phase angle (8.1%) in the assessment of the body composition of subjects with sarcopenia. CONCLUSION: The data from this research show that ASMM and phase angle are the main variables related to sarcopenia screening in community-dwelling older adults. Whereas total extracellular water/body water is still considered a confounding variable in the screening of sarcopenia in the elderly, but it can be considered useful regarding the health conditions of the elderly in the community.

Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of mortality worldwide, requiring support to manage symptoms and improve prognosis. Home-based cardiac rehabilitation is a realistic resource for this purpose, but it requires patients' self-management skills in order to change behaviours. Smartphones are considered mHealth technology (mobile technological resources in healthcare) and have the potential to provide modalities for delivery of cardiac rehabilitation. This systematic review aims to examine these modalities and identify those that are most effective for improving exercise capacity, quality of life, and patient compliance. Randomized controlled trials (1994 to 2022) performed with adults with coronary artery disease (post-myocardial infarction, angina, post-coronary artery bypass graft surgery) or heart failure eligible for home-based cardiac rehabilitation (mHealth) will be selected. Studies published in English, Spanish, or Portuguese that compare rehabilitation-specific mobile apps or smartphone-based features with conventional cardiac rehabilitation will be included. Searches will be conducted in MEDLINE, CENTRAL, EMBASE, LILACS, PEDro, grey literature, and ongoing or recently completed studies. Data and risk of bias will be assessed, and if appropriate, a meta-analysis will be carried out.


Les maladies cardiovasculaires constituent la principale cause de décès dans le monde et nécessitent des soins de soutien pour la prise en charge des symptômes et l'amélioration du pronostic. La réadaptation cardiaque à domicile est un moyen réaliste d'y arriver, mais pour ce faire, les patients doivent acquérir des compétences en autogestion qui leur permettront de modifier leurs comportements. Les téléphones intelligents sont considérés comme une technologie de santé mobile qui a le potentiel d'améliorer les méthodes d'administration de la réadaptation cardiaque. La présente revue systématique vise à examiner ces modalités et à cibler les plus efficaces dans l'amélioration de la capacité physique, de la qualité de vie et de l'adhésion des patients au programme. Des essais contrôlés randomisés (1994 à 2022) réalisés auprès d'adultes qui sont atteints d'une maladie coronarienne (angine ou trouble ayant mené à un infarctus du myocarde ou à un pontage aortocoronarien) ou d'insuffisance cardiaque et qui sont admissibles à la réadaptation cardiaque à domicile (technologie de santé mobile) seront sélectionnés. Nous inclurons les études publiées en anglais, en espagnol ou en portugais qui comparent des applications mobiles de réadaptation ou des fonctionnalités de téléphones intelligents à un programme traditionnel de réadaptation cardiaque. Les bases de données MEDLINE, CENTRAL, EMBASE, LILAC et PEDro, seront interrogées et la littérature grise ainsi que les études en cours seront examinées. Les données et le risque de biais seront évalués, et s'il y a lieu, une métanalyse sera effectuée.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o nível de conhecimento de fisioterapeutas que atuam nos serviços públicos e privados de reabilitação pediátrica sobre o conhecimento das F-Words, assim como identificar as principais barreiras de aplicação destas ferramentas na assistência. Trata-se de um estudo transversal, conduzido de acordo com as recomendações do STROBE. A amostra apresentou uma média etária de 28,1 ± 5,8 anos, constituída por 54 fisioterapeutas que atuam nos serviços públicos e privados de reabilitação pediátrica. Foi observado que 55,6% da amostra já ouviram falar nas F-Words; 44,4% não sabiam sobre a importância; 94,4% estabelecem metas terapêuticas em parceria com a família; 57,4% nunca ouviram falar nas F-Words Tools; 77,8% nunca aplicaram essas ferramentas na assistência. Conclui-se que, as F-Words são importantes, mas são pouco utilizadas na assistência em decorrência da falta de conhecimento dos fisioterapeutas em relação à ferramenta e aos instrumentos.


The aim of this study was to assess the level of knowledge of physiotherapists who work in public and private pediatric rehabilitation services about knowledge of F-Words, as well as to identify the main barriers to applying these tools in care. This is a cross-sectional study, conducted in accordance with the STROBE recommendations. The sample had a mean age of 28.1 ± 5.8 years, consisting of 54 physiotherapists who work in public and private pediatric rehabilitation services. It was observed that 55.6% of the sample had already heard about F-Words; 44.4% did not know about the importance; 94.4% establish therapeutic goals in partnership with the family; 57.4% had never heard of F-Words Tools; 77.8% never applied these tools in care. It is concluded that the F-Words are important, but are little used in assistance due to the lack of knowledge of physiotherapists in relation to the tool and instruments.

Essa pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar os impactos da assistência fisioterapêutica no tempo de hospitalização e capacidade de deambulação de pacientes submetidos à cirurgia de revascularização do miocárdio (CRVM), entre os anos de 2019 a 2020. Trata-se de um estudo de coorte, retrospectivo e de caráter documental, que foi realizado no Hospital Universitário Nova Esperança (HUNE). A amostra foi composta por 273 prontuários aceitos após os critérios de exclusão e perdas. A análise de regressão demonstrou que o déficit motor, alteração de tônus e procedimento de aspiração foram responsáveis por 25% da variação do tempo de hospitalização. Uma segunda análise de regressão foi realizada com o desfecho deambulação na alta hospitalar, e revelou que as condutas de bipedestação, cicloergometro, posicionamento e sedestação na alta hospitalar foram responsáveis por 67% de variação deste desfecho. A atuação da fisioterapia esteve associada a um menor tempo de hospitalização e capacidade de deambulação.


This research aimed to analyze the impacts of physiotherapeutic assistance on the length of hospitalization and walking ability of patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) between the years 2019 to 2020. This is a cohort study, retrospective and documentary in nature, which was carried out at the Nova Esperança University Hospital (HUNE). The sample consisted of 273 medical records accepted after the exclusion and loss criteria. The regression analysis showed that motor deficit, tonus alteration and aspiration procedure were responsible for 25% of the variation in hospitalization time. A second regression analysis was performed with the outcome ambulation at hospital discharge, and revealed that the behaviors of standing upright, cycle ergometer, positioning and sitting at hospital discharge were responsible for 67% of the variation in this outcome. The performance of physiotherapy was associated with a shorter hospital stay and ability to walk.

Introdução:A formação de professores é um processo dinâmico que deve ser composto por experiências práticas e teóricas no preparodo discente ao magistério. Desse modo, a compreensão das reflexões relativas ao estágio em docência assistida no âmbito do ensino superior é de suma importância para enriquecer os debates e discussões acerca do papel do estágio em docência como ferramenta formativa do professor universitário. Objetivo:Refletir sobreas experiências vivenciadas durante atividades desenvolvidas noestágio de docência assistidaea importância para a formação pedagógica no ensino superior. Metodologia:Trata-se de um relato de experiênciado estágio emdocência decorrido no segundo semestre de 2022, na disciplina de Fundamentos em epidemiologia e saúde pública do curso de Graduação em Fisioterapia da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte.Resultados: No presente estudo, foram descritas e analisadas as etapas da experiência do estágio em docência, enfocando as perspectivas, aprendizados e aspirações sob a ótica da literatura científica sobre o papel formativo do estágio para o professor universitário. Os resultados obtidos evidenciam a significânciadas contribuições dessa vivência para o crescimento acadêmico e profissional dos mestrandos. No entanto, salienta-se a necessidade de incorporar ou revisar elementos curriculares, visando promover uma integração mais aprofundada entre as dimensões teóricas e práticas no preparo dos alunos para a docência no ensino superior. Conclusões: O estágio de docência assistida representa uma ferramenta formativa de suma importância, singular e enriquecedora na construção das experiências profissionais e pessoais na formação de professores (AU).


Introduction: Teacher education is a dynamic process that must be composed of practical and theoretical experiences in preparing students to teach. Thus, understanding the reflections related to the internship in assisted teaching in higher education is of paramount importance to enrich the debates and discussions about the role of the internship in teaching as a training tool for university professors.Objective: To reflect on the experiences lived during activities developed in the assisted teaching internship and the importance for pedagogical training in higher education. Methodology: This is an experience report of the teaching internship that took place in the second half of 2022, in the subject of Fundamentals in epidemiology and public health of the Graduation course in Physiotherapy at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte.Results: In this study, we described and analyzed the stages of the teaching practicum experience, focusing on perspectives, learnings, and aspirations from the perspective of the scientific literature on the formative role of the teaching practicum for university professors. The obtained results highlight the significance of the contributions of this experience for the academic and professional growth of the participants. However, it is emphasized the need to incorporate or revise curriculum elements to promote a more profound integration of theoretical and practical dimensions in preparing students for teaching in higher education.Conclusions: The supervised teaching practicum represents a valuable, unique, and enriching formative tool in the development of professional and personal experiences in teacher education (AU).


Introducción: La formación docente es un proceso dinámico que debe estar compuesto de experiencias prácticas y teóricas en la preparación de los estudiantes para enseñar. Por lo tanto, comprender las reflexiones relacionadas con la pasantía en la docencia asistida en laeducación superior es de suma importancia para enriquecer los debates y discusiones sobre el papel de la pasantía en la docencia como herramienta de formación de profesores universitarios. Objetivo: Reflexionar sobre las experiencias vividas durante las actividades desarrolladas en el internado docente asistido y la importancia para la formación pedagógica en la educación superior.Metodología: Se trata de un relato de experiencia de la pasantía docente que tuvo lugar en el segundo semestre de 2022, en la asignatura de Fundamentos en epidemiología y salud pública del curso de Graduación en Fisioterapia de la Universidad Federal de Rio Grande do Norte.Resultados: En este estudio, describimos y analizamos las etapas de la experiencia de práctica docente, enfocando perspectivas, aprendizajes y aspiraciones desde la perspectiva de la literatura científica sobre el papel formativo de la práctica docente para profesoresuniversitarios. Los resultados obtenidos destacan la importancia de los aportes de esta experiencia para el crecimiento académico y profesional de los participantes. Sin embargo, se enfatiza la necesidad de incorporar o revisar elementos curriculares parapromover una integración más profunda de las dimensiones teóricas y prácticas en la preparación de los estudiantes para la docencia en la educación superior. Conclusiones: La práctica docente supervisada representa una herramienta formativa valiosa, únicay enriquecedora en el desarrollo de experiencias profesionales y personales en la formación docente (AU).

INTRODUCTION: Chikungunya fever is an infection transmitted by the Chikungunya virus (CHIKV), which is an arbovirus that is transmitted by the mosquitoes Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. The most common sequelae caused by CHIKV are chronic musculoskeletal pain, nerve damage, joint deformation and functional impairment. OBJECTIVE: To systematically identify the literature on the contributions of physiotherapy in the treatment of patients with CHIKV sequelae. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Systematic review of the literature, guided by the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). The databases used were PUBMED, LILACS, Scielo and PEDro. Experimental studies and/or full case studies published without language restriction or publication data were included, in which they stood out as contributions of musculoskeletal functional rehabilitation in the treatment of patients with the condition in question. Analytical observational studies, editorial letters, review protocols, reflective studies, literature reviews and articles that do not have an abstract and/or full text available online were excluded. RESULTS: The search in the databases was carried out between July and August 2022. A total of 4,782 articles were found on the platforms used and 10 articles from the gray literature search. After the duplicate analysis, 2,027 studies were excluded, leaving 2,755 articles that had their titles and abstracts read, of which 600 articles were selected for full reading. After this step, a final sample of 13 articles was eligible for this review. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The most consolidated approaches used in the literature demonstrate that kinesiotherapy, associated or not with electrothermophototherapy, the pilates method and auriculotherapy are useful resources in the treatment of these individuals, significantly inspired by pain relief, improved quality of life and of functionality.

Introduction: To analyze the relationship between pain, the fear of falling and functional performance in older people living in a long-stay institution (LSI) in the interior of northeastern Brazil. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 133 older residents in an LSI in the State of Paraíba. The instruments used for data collection were the Geriatric Pain Measure (GPM), the Falls Efficacy Scale-International (FES-I) and the Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB). Results: Pain was reported by 57.5% of those evaluated, 48% being classified as chronic pain and presenting an average of 25.2 in the GPM. As for physical performance, assessed using the SPPB, the 133 older residents showed moderate to poor performance, with an average of 6.43 (±2.96) on the scale. By correlating the adjusted GPM values with the FES-I, a weak and statistically significant positive correlation was obtained (ρ = 0.31: p < 0.001). Conclusions: It can be concluded that those who reported pain had a worse performance in the applied tests, in addition to having higher scores on the scale referring to a fear of falling.

O objetivo do estudo foi analisar os possíveis efeitos da pandemia de COVID-19 na percepção de aprendizagem, saúde mental e qualidade de vida de universitários da Paraíba, Brasil. Trata-se de um estudo transversal, quantitativo e analítico conduzido por meio das recomendações do STROBE. Os participantes do estudo demonstraram alta incidência de dificuldade no modelo de educação a distância (EaD) (71,5%), insatisfação com o curso (68,8%), dificuldades de aprendizagem (82,6%) e relataram não ter uma boa experiência de aprendizagem (82,6%). Também pode mostrar que mais da metade dos alunos (58,3%) obteve uma pontuação de 11,22 em seus níveis de ansiedade, o que resulta em um sinal de alerta para sintomas de ansiedade. Essa pesquisa pôde evidenciar que os aspectos acadêmicos de universitários na Paraíba sofreram impactos negativos significativos, esses achados podem estar associados com o declínio dos aspectos biopsicossociais associado à pandemia da COVID-19.


The aim of the study was to analyze the possible effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the perception of learning, mental health and quality of life of university students in Paraíba, Brazil. This is a cross-sectional, quantitative and analytical study conducted using the STROBE recommendations. Study participants showed a high incidence of difficulty in the distance education (DE) model (71.5%), dissatisfaction with the course (68.8%), learning difficulties (82.6%) and reported not having a good learning experience (82.6%). It can also show that more than half of the students (58.3%) scored 11.22 on their anxiety levels, which results in a warning sign for anxiety symptoms. This research could show that the academic aspects of university students in Paraíba suffered significant negative impacts, these findings may be associated with the decline of biopsychosocial aspects associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
