RESUMEN

In this study, we investigate the flow of electrically conducting hybrid nanofluid (Ag+Cu/H2O), due to rotating disks, along with thermal slip, heat generation, and viscous dissipation. The nonlinear differential system is modelled and transformed into dimensionless partial differential equations using suitable dimensionless variables. To obtain solutions for the considered model, a finite difference toolkit is implemented, and numerical solutions are achieved. Graphical results are presented to display the influences of different dimensionless variables on flow velocity and temperature. This research contributes to a better understanding of hybrid nanofluid flows and can inform the design of cooling systems and other practical applications.

RESUMEN

The aim of the current analysis is to evaluate the significances of magnetic dipole and heat transmission through ternary hybrid Carreau Yasuda nanoliquid flow across a vertical stretching sheet. The ternary compositions of Al2O3, SiO2, and TiO2 nanoparticles (nps) in the Carreau Yasuda fluid are used to prepare the ternary hybrid nanofluid (Thnf). The heat transfer and velocity are observed in context of heat source/sink and Darcy Forchhemier effect. Mathematically, the flow scenario has been expressed in form of the nonlinear system of PDEs for fluid velocity and energy propagation. The obtained set of PDEs are transform into ODEs through suitable replacements. The obtained dimensionless equations are computationally solved with the help of the parametric continuation method. It has been observed that the accumulation of Al2O3, SiO2 and TiO2-nps to the engine oil, improves the energy and momentum profiles. Furthermore, as compared to nanofluid and hybrid nanofluid, ternary hybrid nanofluid have a greater tendency to boost the thermal energy transfer. The fluid velocity lowers with the outcome of the ferrohydrodynamic interaction term, while enhances with the inclusion of nano particulates (Al2O3, SiO2 and TiO2).

RESUMEN

Semigroups are generalizations of groups and rings. In the semigroup theory, there are certain kinds of band decompositions which are useful in the study of the structure of semigroups. This research will open up new horizons in the field of mathematics by aiming to use semigroup of h-bi-ideal of semiring with semilattice additive reduct. With the course of this research, it will prove that subsemigroup, the set of all right h-bi-ideals, and set of all left h-bi-ideals are bands for h-regular semiring. Moreover, it will be demonstrated that if semigroup of all h-bi-ideals (B(H), ∗) is semilattice, then H is h-Clifford. This research will also explore the classification of minimal h-bi-ideal.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Injuries are one of the highly prevalent public health problems of Pakistan but still we are unable to develop a mechanism for its quantification and management. To understand the reasons of not doing so we need detailed discussion among the leaders of different stakeholders working in area of injuries. In this study, a focus group discussion (FGD) of provincial health leaders was conducted to explore challenges and gaps and identify opportunities for quantification and management of injuries in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). METHODS: This was a descriptive qualitative study conducted in Khyber Medical University, Peshawar, Pakistan. Study participants were policy makers, academia, senior level health mangers and representatives from international organizations. Purposive sampling was applied to select respondents for FGD from relevant areas to capture diversity of opinions among participants. The data were transcribed verbatim and analyzed thematically through open-coding process. RESULTS: One FGD was conducted in this study with a total of 11 participants. The study participants identified a number of challenges and gaps regarding quantification of injuries' burden in KP province of Pakistan and preparedness of existing health system to cope with mass emergencies. The discussion yielded four areas of detailed discussion which are; developing a surveillance system for injuries, capacity of District Health Information System, existing level of preparedness at provincial and district level and suggestions for improvement of existing situation with plans for capacity improvement. CONCLUSIONS: In countries like Pakistan routine health information system is the better option for quantification of injuries' burden, but needs review of existing indicators and sheer commitment from field level to higher authorities with due consideration of technology assimilation. A multipronged approach is required for preparedness including; trainings on emergency medicine and skills, incentives for staff to fill vacant posts, well equipped ambulances and provision of other supplies on regular basis..

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The peri-operative and long-term outcome of 211 consecutive patients at or above 75 years of age undergoing cardiac surgery between 1987-1990, was assessed. 79.6% of patients underwent CABG, 8.5% underwent both CABG and valvular surgery, 8.1% underwent only valvular surgery and 3.8% underwent other procedures. RESULTS: Survival curve analysis revealed no intra-operative deaths and a 30 day, 1,3, and 5 year overall survival rate of 93.3%, 89.2%, 77.8% and 64.6% respectively. 30.8% of patients had major peri-operative complications. Transient post-operative atrial fibrillation occurred in 47% of patients. There was a non-statistical trend towards increased risk of post-operative stroke in patients with transient post-operative atrial fibrillation. Early cardiothoracic re-operation was required in 8.5%. 91.9% of patients were followed up at a mean of 36.5Â+/-18.2 months post-operatively. 94.1% lived at home, 96.3% were ambulant, 96.3% were NYHA class I or II. Previously undetected malignancy was he cause of mortality in 10/45 (22%) patients who died after the thirtieth post-operative day, during the follow-up period. CONCLUSIONS: Chronologic age alone is not a contra-indication to cardiac surgery. Standard selection criteria with careful consideration of risk-benefit ratio, quality of life, presence of comorbid disease and health care costs should be factored in the decision process regarding cardiac surgery in the elderly. Particular attention should be paid to screening for malignancy and to management of transient post-operative atrial fibrillation.
