Background: The aim of the study was to evaluate the outcomes of voriconazole in terms of functional recovery and response on imaging in the management of invasive aspergillosis of orbit. Methods: This was a prospective non-comparative interventional study. Diagnosed cases of invasive orbital aspergillosis were studied in a tertiary care hospital. Intravenous voriconazole followed by oral treatment was given. Sinus debridement was done, where needed. The response to treatment was assessed clinically and on radiology. Results: A total of 10 diagnosed cases of invasive orbital aspergillosis were studied. Nine cases (90%) occurred in immunocompetent patients. Predisposing sinus infection was seen in 8 patients (80%). The most common presenting complaint was the protrusion of eye. On voriconazole treatment, there was a statistically significant improvement in vision and extraocular movements from first week onwards (p = 0.01 and p = 0.02, respectively) and reduction in proptosis from second week onwards (p = 0.003). Imaging was done at three months follow-up which revealed a good response to treatment in 90% of patients. All patients tolerated the drug well except one who had transient hepatic dysfunction. The mean follow-up was 5.8 months (range: 3-12 months). There was no recurrence of disease till the last follow-up. Conclusion: Invasive orbital aspergillosis commonly presents as sino-orbital disease, mostly in immunocompetent adult patients. Voriconazole is a safe and effective drug with good short-term clinical outcome.

A series of thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) molecules having an imidazopyridine acceptor, a benzene linker, and a 9,9-dimethyl-9,10-dihydroacridine donor are designed and examined using a quantum chemical approach. The above framework spatially separates the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO), minimizing their overlap, ultimately resulting in a reduced energy gap between the excited singlet and triplet states (ΔEST). The impact of electron-donating substituents (-Me, -Et, -t-Bu, -OMe, and -NMe2) on the donor moiety of the parent molecule 2-(4-(9,9-dimethylacridin-10(9H)-yl)phenyl)imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3,6-dicarbonitrile (Ac-CNImPy) is investigated. The calculated results revealed that for a given substituent, the para-substituted derivatives exhibit relatively less ΔEST, compared to that of the respective ortho- and meta derivatives. The value of ΔEST decreased with an increase in the electron-donating capacity of the substituent. Additionally, the ΔEST of the disubstituted derivatives is found to be less than that for the monosubstituted derivatives. The charge transport studies revealed that molecules with strong electron-donating substituents act as electron transporters. The effect of an external electric field (EEF) on ΔEST of the parent molecule Ac-CNIMPY and its derivative is also examined and revealed that the ΔEST can be further reduced by applying an electric field of appropriate strength in a direction perpendicular to the dipole moment of the molecule and in the plane of the acceptor moiety.

Chemoport devices are commonly used for the administration of chemotherapeutic medication in cancer patients and can also be used for total parenteral nutrition and long term intravenous therapy. They are usually inserted through the internal jugular vein or the subclavian vein. The common complications of the procedure include pneumothorax, bleeding, arrhythmia and venous thrombosis. One of the rare complications of chemoport is catheter fracture/dislodgement and subsequent migration, with an incidence of 0.1-2.1%. Other rare complications are vascular erosion and embolization, vocal cord palsy and mediastinal hematoma. The aims and objectives are as follows: (1) to report a rare case of chemoport catheter migration between the right ventricle and pulmonary artery and (2) to review the literature on the rare complication of cardiac migration of a chemoport. A 56-year-old lady, known case of carcinoma right breast, post modified radical mastectomy was advised adjuvant chemotherapy. A chemoport catheter was placed in the right internal jugular vein and was positioned over the left upper chest. The 1st cycle of chemotherapy was given through chemoport and was uneventful. On the second chemotherapy schedule, catheter dysfunction was found. For the same, she was evaluated with chest radiography, which showed the migrated catheter in the heart. The migrated catheter was retrieved by snare technique using percutaneous transvenous route. The procedure was uneventful. The literature on the topic was reviewed. Chemoport catheter fracture or dislodgement and its subsequent cardiac migration are a rare but serious complication. High index of suspicion in case of catheter dysfunction, early detection by chest radiography, and timely multi-disciplinary intervention is crucial.

Introduction: Eyelid sebaceous gland carcinoma (SGC) is an aggressive malignancy. Surgical excision is the standard treatment for non-metastatic eyelid SGC. This study aimed to evaluate treatment outcomes with use of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) and any change in ease/difficulty of surgical treatment in such cases. Methods: This was a prospective interventional study conducted over 24-month period. Histopathologically, confirmed cases without any systemic metastasis were included. Clinico-demographic details were collected for 30 patients. 10 patients received NACT using cisplatin and 5-FU. Tumour response was evaluated using RECIST criteria. An ease of surgery questionnaire was used to assess difficulty of surgical treatment before and after NACT. Results: Of the 30 patients evaluated for recruitment, 37% had recurrent SGC and 72% had advanced tumour stage. Ten patients were recruited for NACT. There was partial response in 80% and complete response in 10% cases. Tumour T category downstaging was seen in 50% of cases. While tumour dimensions/volume reduced substantially, surgical ease improved in only 40% cases. Conclusion: A significant proportion of SGC patients evaluated in our study presented with recurrent and/or advanced disease. NACT caused tumour regression in 90% of cases. However, surgical ease improvement was limited, pointing to a need for surgical modification in such cases. Corneal ulceration was noted in 2 cases with large tumours causing a complete mechanical ptosis. Overall, the study introduced an ease of surgery questionnaire and provided insights into benefits and challenges of using NACT for eyelid SGC management.

This research summaries the development, optimization and validation of liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometric (LC-MS/MS) method for concurrent measurement of seven nitrosamines viz; NDMA, NDEA, NDIPA, NDPA, NEIPA, NMPA & NMBA in Olmesartan tablet. Controlling these nitrosamines at trace levels is imperative for ensuring the safety of drug substances and products for consumption. Various regulatory authorities stress the significance of utilizing highly sensitive analytical methods to precisely measure nitrosamines at trace levels. The method applied effective chromatographic separation and optimized parameters for mass spectrometric detection. Detection was carried out using APCI positive ion mode. Chromatographic separation was achieved using a Thermo Accucore PFP column (150 mm x 4.6 mm, 2.6 µ), with a simple gradient elution of mobile phase consisting of 0.1 % formic acid in water (mobile phase A) and methanol (mobile phase B). The total run time was 20 min, with a flow rate of 0.800 mL/min. The method was validated according to the International Council on Harmonisation (ICH Q2 (R2)) guidelines. The established method demonstrated excellent linearity (R2> 0.99) and sensitivity for all the nitrosamines. Detection and quantification limits were sufficiently low for trace nitrosamine levels having good S/N ratio. The method showed good accuracy in Olmesartan tablet samples, with recoveries ranges between 80 % to 120 %. The new analytical approach has exceptional repeatability and reliability, making it possible to precisely quantify the levels of seven nitrosamines in Olmesartan medoxomil tablets in a single analytical run.

Liquiritin (LIQ), a bioactive flavonoid from Glycyrrhiza species, has shown significant potential in cancer therapy. LIQ exhibits potent inhibitory effects on various cancer cell types, including breast, lung, liver, and colon cancers, while demonstrating low toxicity towards healthy cells. Its anticancer mechanisms include inducing cell cycle arrest, promoting apoptosis, and modulating inflammation-related pathways. Additionally, LIQ impedes angiogenesis and enhances the efficacy of conventional chemotherapies through sensitization and synergistic effects with other natural compounds and targeted therapies. These multifaceted actions highlight LIQ as a promising candidate for further development as an anticancer agent. This abstract provides an overview of LIQ's chemistry, biological effects, and underlying mechanisms.

BACKGROUND: Air pollution is a significant issue for a developing country like India and the air quality index (AQI) forecasting helps to predict air quality levels in advance and allows individuals to take precautionary measures to protect their health. OBJECTIVES: The study aimed to forecast the AQI for an industrial area (SIDCUL, Haridwar City) using a time series regression model. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Three years of existing AQI data points (post-COVID-19) were collected from the Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board for the SIDCUL area of Haridwar City and tried to know the status of AQI values for the following 12 months. Trend and seasonality components were seen through the decomposition process. Further, the augmented Dickey-Fuller test was applied to check the stationarity of the series before finalizing the best-suited time series model for forecasting the AQI values. RESULTS: With the help of autocorrelation function (ACF)/partial ACF plots, a seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) (0,1,0) (1,0,0)[12] model was selected with the minimum akaike information criterion (253.143) and mean absolute percentage error (17.42%). The AQI values have also been forecasted for this industrial area (SIDCUL) for the following year. CONCLUSION: The seasonal ARIMA (0,1,0) (1,0,0)[12] model may be helpful to forecast the AQI values for a nonstationary time series dataset. Research indicates that the air of the SIDCUL area will become moderately polluted and may cause breathing discomfort to asthma patients' health. The scientists might apply this model to other polluted regions of the country so that the public and the government can take preventive measures in advance.

OBJECTIVE: The traditional drug delivery system is not much effective when treating chronopathological diseases like arthritis. Consequently, there is a gap in the market for a delivery system that can provide an explicit treatment following the chronopharmacology of this disorder. The present study is based on the objective to develop Eudragit coated dual release bilayer tablet designed by the quality by design (QbD) and based on the chronotherapeutic approach. The dual release tablet contained an immediate release layer of etoricoxib and a sustained release layer of thiocolchicoside. MATERIAL AND METHOD: The quality target product profile (QTTP) of the formulation was established along with critical quality attributes (CQA). The optimization of the dual release layer was done using a three-level, three-factor Box-Behnken design. A total of thirteen formulations of etoricoxib (ET1-ET13) and thiocolchicoside (TH1-TH13) were developed based on the design composition of etoricoxib, sodium starch glycolate and sodium bicarbonate for the immediate release (IR) layer and thiocolchicoside, HPMC E5 LV and magnesium stearate for the sustained release (SR) layer respectively. The developed dual release layers were compressed to form a bilayer tablet. The bilayer tablets were further coated with pH-dependent polymer Eudragit S-100 to avoid drug release in upper GIT. The initial characterization and drug-excipient interaction studies were performed initially using infra-red (IR) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction studies (XRD). Formulations showing good micrometric properties, disintegration and drug release were selected for final compression of bilayer tablets. RESULT: Formulation ET13 showed the fastest drug release (88%) at 15minutes and quick disintegration time (21s). The sustained release thiocolchicoside tablet layer (TH1-TH13) had a hardness that varied from 4.01 to 4.45kg/cm2. Formulation TH12 had the highest hardness, whereas TH6 showed the lowest hardness. The sustained release layer showing 97.63% of drug release after 8hours was selected for the compression to bilayer tablet. The developed dual layer tablets were investigated for quality parameters like hardness, percentage friability, weight variation, disintegration and dissolution. CONCLUSION: A high level of patient compliance is ensured through the current design as the patient does not need to get out of bed at night to take the medication.

BACKGROUND: Global longitudinal active strain energy density (GLASED) is an innovative method for assessing myocardial function and quantifies the work performed per unit volume of the left ventricular myocardium. The GLASED, measured using MRI, is the best prognostic marker currently available. This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of measuring the GLASED using echocardiography and to investigate potential differences in the GLASED among athletes based on age and sex. METHODS: An echocardiographic study was conducted with male controls, male and female young athletes, and male and female veteran athletes. GLASED was calculated from the myocardial stress and strain. RESULTS: The mean age (in years) of the young athletes was 21.6 for males and 21.4 for females, while the mean age of the veteran athletes was 53.5 for males and 54.2 for females. GLASED was found to be highest in young male athletes (2.40 kJ/m3) and lowest in female veterans (1.96 kJ/m3). Veteran males exhibited lower values (1.96 kJ/m3) than young male athletes did (P < 0.001). Young females demonstrated greater GLASED (2.28 kJ/m3) than did veteran females (P < 0.01). However, no significant difference in the GLASED was observed between male and female veterans. CONCLUSION: Our findings demonstrated the feasibility of measuring GLASED using echocardiography. GLASED values were greater in young male athletes than in female athletes and decreased with age, suggesting possible physiological differences in their myocardium. The sex-related differences observed in GLASED values among young athletes were no longer present in veteran athletes. We postulate that measuring the GLASED may serve as a useful additional screening tool for cardiac diseases in athletes, particularly for those with borderline phenotypes of hypertrophic and dilated cardiomyopathies.

A guidewire fracture seldom occurs as a complication of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Guidewire fragments retained in the coronary tree can result in thrombosis, embolic phenomena, dissection, perforation, and vessel occlusion. This study represents a rare incidence of fractured guide wire, which occurred during PCI in a 44-year-old male due to the acute angle and heavy calcification which was safely and successfully retrieved using a 4×40 mm Solitaire device (Irvine, CA: Medtronic) (neurovascular remodeling device).

BACKGROUND: Eltrombopag Olamine is a drug used to treat thrombocytopenia, a disorder where blood platelet counts get lower and severe aplastic anemia. It serves as a thrombopoietin receptor agonist, which give rise to platelet production in the bone marrow. OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study is to develop a simple, specific, accurate, precise and economical Ultraviolet spectroscopy method to estimate the amount of Eltrombopag Olamine in bulk and tablet dosage form. METHODS: The developed method was performed using methanol for identification and physicochemical characterization of the drug. The validation parameters like linearity, precision, accuracy, robustness limits of detection and quantitation, and specificity were assessed as per ICH Q2 (R2). RESULTS: The maximum absorbance wavelength (λmax) of the drug was found at 247 nm in methanol. The linearity was found in the concentration range of 2-14 µg/ml with regression equation y = 0.0619x - 0.0123 and r² = 0.999. The standard addition method was used to determine the accuracy of the developed method. The result was found in the % recovery range of 98-99%. The precision was done on λmax with respect to the parameters such as repeatability, intraday, and interday. The method was found to be precise as the % RSD value was found to be <2%. The detection limit value (LOD) and quantitation limit value (LOQ) were 0.0524 µg/ml and 0.1588 µg/ml, respectively. CONCLUSION: The developed method is simple, economical, accurate and selective. The developed method was adaptable for the estimation of Eltrombopag Olamine analysis in pharmaceutical dosage form and routine quality control laboratory.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of the study was to explore the individual impact of BMI and height on LV size and geometry in a cohort of healthy athletes. METHODS: From a total cohort of 1857 healthy élite athletes (21 ± 5 years, males 70%) investigated with ECG and echocardiogram, we considered three groups: Group 1 n = 50: BMI ≥ 30 and height < 1.90 m; Group 2 n = 87: height ≥ 1.95 m and BMI < 30; control Group 3 n = 243: height < 1.90 m and BMI = 20-29. RESULTS: BSA was ≤2.3 m2 in 52% of athletes in group 1 and 47% of athletes in group 2. Athletes in group 1 and in group 2 showed an enlarged LV end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD) (57 ± 6 vs 57 ± 4 vs 53 ± 4 mm in Group 3); 50% of athletes in group 1 and 38% of athletes in group 2 exhibited a LVEDD > 57 mm (p = 0.23). LV wall thickness was higher in group 1 (11 ± 1 vs 10 ± 2 mm in Group 2, p = 0.001). Concentric hypertrophy or concentric remodelling was found in 20% of athletes in group 1 vs 7% of athletes in group 2 (p = 0.04). Athletes of group 1 with BSA ≤ 2.3 m2 showed lower LVEDD (53 ± 5 vs 60 ± 5 mm, p < 0.001), similar LV wall thickness (10 ± 1 vs 11 ± 1 mm, p = 0.128) and higher prevalence of concentric hypertrophy or concentric remodelling (31% vs 8%, p = 0.04) compared to those with BSA > 2.3 m2. CONCLUSION: Athletes with high BMI have similar LV dimensions but greater wall thickness and higher prevalence of concentric remodelling compared to very tall athletes. Athletes with high BMI and large BSA have the widest LV dimensions.

PURPOSE: To non-invasively quantify pancreatic fibrosis and grade severity of chronic pancreatitis (CP) on dual-energy CT (DECT) and multiparametric MRI (mpMRI). METHODS: We included 72 patients (mean age:30years; 59 men) with suspected or confirmed CP from December 2019 to December 2021 graded as equivocal(n = 20), mild(n = 18), and moderate-marked(n = 34) using composite imaging and endoscopic ultrasound criteria. Study patients underwent multiphasic DECT and mpMRI of the abdomen. Normalized iodine concentration(NIC) and fat fraction(FF) on 6-minute delayed DECT, and T1 relaxation time(T1Rt), extracellular volume fraction(ECVf), intravoxel incoherent motion-based perfusion fraction(PF), and magnetization transfer ratio(MTR) on mpMRI of pancreas were compared. 20 renal donors(for DECT) and 20 patients with renal mass(for mpMRI) served as controls. RESULTS: NIC of pancreas in controls and progressive grades of CP were 0.24 ± 0.05, 0.80 ± 0.18, 1.06 ± 0.23, 1.40 ± 0.36, FF were 9.28 ± 5.89, 14.19 ± 5.29, 17.31 ± 5.99, 29.32 ± 12.22, T1Rt were 590.11 ± 61.13, 801.93 ± 211.01, 1006.79 ± 352.18, 1388.01 ± 312.23ms, ECVf were 0.07 ± 0.03, 0.30 ± 0.12, 0.41 ± 0.12, 0.53 ± 0.13, PF were 0.38 ± 0.04, 0.28 ± 0.07, 0.25 ± 0.09, 0.21 ± 0.05 and MTR were 0.12 ± 0.03, 0.15 ± 0.06, 0.21 ± 0.07, 0.26 ± 0.06, respectively. There were significant differences for all quantitative parameters between controls and mild CP; for NIC, PF, and ECVf between controls and progressive CP grades (p < 0.05). Area under curve for NIC, FF, T1Rt, ECVf, PF, and MTR in differentiating controls and mild CP were 1.00, 0.86, 0.95, 1.00, 0.90 and 0.84 respectively and for NIC, FF, ECVf and PF in differentiating controls and equivocal CP were 1.00, 0.76, 0.95 and 0.92 respectively. CONCLUSION: DECT and mpMRI were useful in quantifying pancreatic fibrosis and grading the severity of CP. NIC was the most accurate marker.

Garlic, belonging to the genus Allium, is renowned for its rich antioxidant potential. Snow Mountain garlic (SMG) (Allium ampeloprasum) has been traditionally used for medicinal purposes because of its higher antioxidant potential. Considering its potential in medical therapies, we compared the antioxidant activity of SMG with a novel variety of Allium sativum, Hisar garlic 17 (HG17). Comparative antioxidant activity data (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl and 2,2-azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) revealed the higher antioxidant activity of HG17 than SMG, which prompted us to conduct a comprehensive phytochemical investigation to elucidate the factors contributing to antioxidant potential of HG17. To get a detailed antioxidant and phytoconstituents profiling, we differentially extracted HG17 by processing it in different forms (fresh, dry, heated, and aged) with two solvents (50% methanol and n-butanol). Our data (antioxidant activities, total phenolics, and flavonoids) showed that dry garlic methanolic extract (DgM) had maximum potential than other HG17 forms/solvents, which concludes that different extraction techniques had direct impact on the phenolics/flavonoids and antioxidant potential of the extracts. Further, phytochemical analysis of HG17 extracts by high resolution liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer quadrupole time of flight validated the maximum potential of DgM. LCMS revealed the presence of garcimangosone C, osmanthuside A, and protoaphin aglucone polyphenols exclusively in DgM compared to other HG17 extracts, which possibly contributing in its high antioxidant potential. The overall differential extraction and LCMS data of HG17 strongly depict that it may be used as an alternative of SMG under diverse medical applications. HG17 higher antioxidant potential and rich array of unique phytochemicals make it valuable for food and pharmaceutical industries to integrate into functional foods/therapeutics. PRACTICAL APPLICATION: Garlic unique phytochemical composition and its remarkable ability to scavenge different radicals make it valuable therapeutic asset to mitigate diseases associated with oxidative stress. SMG is well known for its anti-arthritic and anti-inflammatory properties. HG17 showed higher antioxidant potential than SMG and can be used as an alternative of SMG for anti-arthritic properties.

The current study focuses on analyzing the impacts of climate change and land use/land cover (LULC) changes on sediment yield in the Puthimari basin, an Eastern Himalayan sub-watershed of the Brahmaputra, using a hybrid SWAT-ANN model approach. The analysis was meticulously segmented into three distinct time spans: 2025-2049, 2050-2074, and 2075-2099. This innovative method integrates insights from multiple climate models under two Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP4.5 and RCP8.5), along with LULC projections generated through the Cellular Automata Markov model. By combining the strengths of the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) and artificial neural network (ANN) techniques, the study aims to improve the accuracy of sediment yield simulations in response to changing environmental conditions. The non-linear autoregressive with external input (NARX) method was adopted for the ANN component of the hybrid model. The adoption of the hybrid SWAT-ANN approach appears to be particularly effective in improving the accuracy of sediment yield simulation compared to using the SWAT model alone, as evidenced by the higher coefficient of determination value of 0.74 for the hybrid model compared to 0.35 for the standalone SWAT model. In the context of the RCP4.5 scenario, during 2075-99, the study noted a 29.34% increase in sediment yield, accompanied by simultaneous rises of 42.74% in discharge and 27.43% in rainfall during the Indian monsoon season, spanning from June to September. In contrast, under the RCP8.5 scenario, for the same period, the increases in sediment yield, discharge, and rainfall for the monsoon season were determined to be 116.56%, 103.28%, and 64.72%, respectively. The present study's comprehensive analysis of the factors influencing sediment supply in the Puthimari River basin fills an important knowledge gap and provides valuable insights for designing proactive flood and erosion management strategies. The findings from this research are crucial for understanding the vulnerability of the Puthimari basin to climate and land use changes, and by incorporating these findings into policy and decision-making processes, stakeholders can work towards enhancing resilience and sustainability in the face of future hydrological and environmental challenges.

Objective: This article critically reviews the recent search on the use of Small Interfering RNA (siRNA) in the process of gene regulation that has been harnessed to silence specific genes in various cell types, including those involved in diabetes complications. Significance: Diabetes, a prevalent and severe condition, poses life-threatening risks due to elevated blood glucose levels. It results from inadequate insulin production by the pancreas or ineffective insulin utilization by the body. Recent research suggests siRNA could hold promise in addressing diabetes complications. Methods: In this review, we discussed several subjects, including diabetes; its function, and common treatment options. An in-depth analysis of gene silencing method for siRNA and role of siRNA in diabetes, focusing on its impact on glucose homeostasis, diabetic retinopathy, wound healing, diabetic nephropathy and peripheral neuropathy, diabetic foot ulcers, diabetic atherosclerosis, and diabetic cardiomyopathy. Result: siRNA-based treatment has the potential to target specific genes without disrupting several other endogenous pathways, which decreases the risk of off-target effects. In addition, siRNA has the capability to provide long-term efficacy with a single dose which will reduce treatment options and enhance patient compliance. Conclusion: In the context of diabetic complications, siRNA has been explored as a potential therapeutic tool to modulate the expression of genes involved in various processes associated with diabetes-related issues such as Diabetic Retinopathy, Neuropathy, Nephropathy, wound healing. The use of siRNA in these contexts is still largely experimental, and challenges such as delivery to specific tissues, potential off-target effects, and long-term safety need to be addressed. Additionally, the development of siRNA-based therapies for clinical use in diabetic complications is an active area of research. BACKGROUND: Studies reporting on the incidence of sudden cardiac arrest and/or death (SCA/D) in athletes commonly lack methodological and reporting rigor, which has implications for screening and preventative policy in sport. To date, there are no tools designed for assessing study quality in studies investigating the incidence of SCA/D in athletes. METHODS AND RESULTS: The International Criteria for Reporting Study Quality for Sudden Cardiac Arrest/Death tool (IQ-SCA/D) was developed following a Delphi process. Sixteen international experts in sports cardiology were identified and invited. Experts voted on each domain with subsequent moderated discussion for successive rounds until consensus was reached for a final tool. Interobserver agreement between a novice, intermediate, and expert observer was then assessed from the scoring of 22 relevant studies using weighted and unweighted κ analyses. The final IQ-SCA/D tool comprises 8 domains with a summated score of a possible 22. Studies are categorized as low, intermediate, and high quality with summated IQ-SCA/D scores of ≤11, 12 to 16, and ≥17, respectively. Interrater agreement was "substantial" between all 3 observers for summated IQ-SCA/D scores and study categorization. CONCLUSIONS: The IQ-SCA/D is an expert consensus tool for assessing the study quality of research reporting the incidence of SCA/D in athletes. This tool may be used to assist researchers, reviewers, journal editors, and readers in contextualizing the methodological quality of different studies with varying athlete SCA/D incidence estimates. Importantly, the IQ-SCA/D also provides an expert-informed framework to support and guide appropriate design and reporting practices in future SCA/D incidence trials.

Most of the cancer patients have multiple comorbid conditions, commonly diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and coronary vascular diseases. Cancer treatment involves a multidisciplinary approach targeting primary cancer-directed therapy along with optimal management of comorbid conditions as well. Hyperglycemia, which exists prior to cancer therapy initiation or if it develops during or after therapy, is associated with less desirable outcomes like treatment compromise due to increased adverse effects of therapy and higher mortality. Hence, prompt diagnoses and management of hyperglycemia become crucial during therapy. Healthcare providers working in an oncology setting, as well as primary care providers, should be aware of medications that are associated with hyperglycemia and diabetes. This paper will elucidate various cancer-directed therapies associated with hyperglycemia.

BACKGROUND: DPP-4 inhibitors, or gliptins, are new oral antidiabetic drugs for type 2 diabetes. They help to regulate insulin and glucagon. These drugs have the advantage of a lower risk of hypoglycemia compared to some other diabetes medications and are typically prescribed when metformin and sulphonylureas have become less effective. OBJECTIVE: This review analyses a range of analytical and bioanalytical methods for DPP-4 inhibitors, that use spectroscopic techniques, chromatographic, and hyphenated techniques for analysis. So far, no review comprising all DPP-4 inhibitors has been presented. The primary objective of this review is to present the analysts with various analytical and bioanalytical methods for the quantification and estimation of DPP-4 inhibitors in different matrices. METHODS: To improve understanding, a review was carried out by creating a database of pre-existing research from digital sources such as ScienceDirect, and PubMed. The methodology is shown in the flowchart of the literature selection process. CONCLUSION: The comprehensive assessment of methods for analysing DPP-4 inhibitors can be a valuable resource for researchers and healthcare practitioners. Hitherto, no review encompassing all DPP-4 inhibitors has been presented. Therefore, gaps in the data available on a particular subject, need to be required to collect data on a particular construct. The review suggests that chromatographic techniques were majorly used for analysis wherein solvents like acetonitrile, methanol, and buffer solutions were used as mobile phases that can deteriorate HPLC columns and equipment. So, scientists could investigate new methods for the assessment of DPP-4 inhibitors using more eco-friendly solvents.
