RESUMEN

The present study was motivated by the lack of data on the role ofvariations in the levels of leptin and its soluble receptors and their interaction with proinflammatory factors in the development of acute coronary syndrome. The study included patients suffering myocardial infarction with and without type 2 diabetes mellitus. Hyperleptinemia and its relationship with myocardial necrosis markers (creatine phosphokinase, creatine phosphokinase-MB, troponin) give reason to suggest the important role of leptin in the development of inflammatory process associated with myocardial infarction in patients with and without diabetes mellitus. The results of the study provide a basis for the elaboration of a new therapeutic strategy for the correction of metabolic disorders in patients with acute coronary syndrome.

RESUMEN

Inflammatory periodontal disease in patients with type II diabetes mellitus are characterized by a more severe course. Properly organized oral hygiene can effectively prevent and treat inflammation of periodontal tissues. The choice of therapeutic-prophylactic toothpaste, as one of the main means of personal hygiene, is especially important in patients with diabetes in surgical in-patient department. The study revealed high need in dental care (90%) in 20 patients with diabetes mellitus type II admitted to purulent surgery unit. After a week of using toothpaste Parоdontax Extra Fresh oral hygiene index improved 1.8 times and BOP index reduced twice-folds. Decrease of tissue swelling and tartar formation was also seen.

RESUMEN

According contemporary conceptions, the key role in the development of atherosclerosis play the low density oxidative modified lipoproteins and its antibodies. The purpose of the study was to discover the characteristics of changes in lipid metabolism indicators, including the low density oxidative modified lipoproteins and their antibodies. The factors of oxidative status in patients with cardiac infarction with complicated and non-complicated course were considered. It is established that the development of cardiac infarction is followed the increase of concentration of low density oxidative modified lipoproteins and their antibodies both during the first day after acute pain syndrome and stabilization period. The evaluation of content of low density oxidative modified lipoproteins and their antibodies broaden the possibilities of diagnostics, prognosis and decrease of risk of development both acute and recurrent coronary events.

RESUMEN

At the Rostov Research Oncological Institute 49 patients with uterine cancer were tested by endolymphatic infusion with the preliminary estimation of the tumor sensitivity to chemical drugs. To test the efficacy of the treatment applied was cytological control of the uterine aspirate every 5 days after the infusion prior to surgery, and also morphological changes in the removed tumors at different terms after endolymphatic polychemotherapy. After administration of the drugs at 2--5 day a cessation of the uterine bleeding, lessening or disappearance of pains were noted usually. Among 14 patients with an enlarged uterus as if in the 8--10 week pregnancy, its size was normalized in 11 patients following the treatment. In 5 of 8 patients with parametrial infiltrates the latter completely disappeared while in 3-separated from pelvic walls. Of 3 patients with vaginal metastases the latter disappeared in one case, in 2 cases these were 2/3--1/2 diminished. Total extirpation of the uterus with adnexa was performed in 41 patients, in three of them a histological assay showed no tumor in the removed specimens.

RESUMEN

As a result of examining the urine excretion of 17-OCS, 17-KS, estrogens and the concentration of protein bound iodine and butanolextractable iodine in blood of patients with benign and malignant ovarian tumors, there were found some deviations from the normal hormonal balance in all these patients. These deviations were manifested in a delayed transformation of cortisol to cortisone, in a shifted androgeno-estrogenic balance toward estrogen active fractions, and in the reduced production of thyroid hormones. In ovarian cancer, however, these changes were manifested to a greater extent.
