RESUMEN

The space of Retzius is an important anatomic location for pathology. Pathology in the space of Retzius is more common than previously believed, especially as more cases are discovered with increased use of cross-sectional imaging. Knowledge of the anatomy of the Space of Retzius is crucial for identifying and distinguishing between benign and pathological findings. This paper uses several case examples to discuss benign etiologies, including normal tissue or a foreign body. The paper also demonstrates a case series with pathologic findings in the Space of Retzius under the broad categories of infection, neoplasm, hemorrhage, or urine extravasation. Understanding of the anatomy and these example cases can improve the diagnostic accuracy of radiologists.

The oxidative potential (OP) of outdoor PM2.5 in wintertime Fairbanks, Alaska, is investigated and compared to those in wintertime Atlanta and Los Angeles. Approximately 40 filter samples collected in January-February 2022 at a Fairbanks residential site were analyzed for OP utilizing dithiothreitol-depletion (OPDTT) and hydroxyl-generation (OPOH) assays. The study-average PM2.5 mass concentration was 12.8 µg/m3, with a 1 h average maximum of 89.0 µg/m3. Regression analysis, correlations with source tracers, and contrast between cold and warmer events indicated that OPDTT was mainly sensitive to copper, elemental carbon, and organic aerosol from residential wood burning, and OPOH to iron and organic aerosol from vehicles. Despite low photochemically-driven oxidation rates, the water-soluble fraction of OPDTT was unusually high at 77%, mainly from wood burning emissions. In contrast to other locations, the Fairbanks average PM2.5 mass concentration was higher than Atlanta and Los Angeles, whereas OPDTT in Fairbanks and Atlanta were similar, and Los Angeles had the highest OPDTT and OPOH. Site differences were observed in OP when normalized by both the volume of air sampled and the particle mass concentration, corresponding to exposure and the intrinsic health-related properties of PM2.5, respectively. The sensitivity of OP assays to specific aerosol components and sources can provide insights beyond the PM2.5 mass concentration when assessing air quality.

The indoor air quality of a residential home during winter in Fairbanks, Alaska, was investigated and contrasted with outdoor levels. Twenty-four-hour average indoor and outdoor filter samples were collected from January 17 to February 25, 2022, in a residential area with high outdoor PM2.5 concentrations. The oxidative potential of PM2.5 was determined using the dithiothreitol-depletion assay (OPDTT). For the unoccupied house, the background indoor-to-outdoor (I/O) ratio of mass-normalized OP (OPmDTT), a measure of the intrinsic health-relevant properties of the aerosol, was less than 1 (0.53 ± 0.37), implying a loss of aerosol toxicity as air was transported indoors. This may result from transport and volatility losses driven by the large gradients in temperature (average outdoor temperature of -19°C/average indoor temperature of 21 °C) or relative humidity (average outdoor RH of 78%/average indoor RH of 11%), or both. Various indoor activities, including pellet stove use, simple cooking experiments, incense burning, and mixtures of these activities, were conducted. The experiments produced PM2.5 with a highly variable OPmDTT. PM2.5 from cooking emissions had the lowest OP values, while pellet stove PM2.5 had the highest. Correlations between volume-normalized OPDTT (OPvDTT), relevant to exposure, and indoor PM2.5 mass concentration during experiments were much lower compared to those in outdoor environments. This suggests that mass concentration alone can be a poor indicator of possible adverse effects of various indoor emissions. These findings highlight the importance of considering both the quantity of particles and sources (chemical composition), as health metrics for indoor air quality.

The Alaskan Layered Pollution And Chemical Analysis (ALPACA) field experiment was a collaborative study designed to improve understanding of pollution sources and chemical processes during winter (cold climate and low-photochemical activity), to investigate indoor pollution, and to study dispersion of pollution as affected by frequent temperature inversions. A number of the research goals were motivated by questions raised by residents of Fairbanks, Alaska, where the study was held. This paper describes the measurement strategies and the conditions encountered during the January and February 2022 field experiment, and reports early examples of how the measurements addressed research goals, particularly those of interest to the residents. Outdoor air measurements showed high concentrations of particulate matter and pollutant gases including volatile organic carbon species. During pollution events, low winds and extremely stable atmospheric conditions trapped pollution below 73 m, an extremely shallow vertical scale. Tethered-balloon-based measurements intercepted plumes aloft, which were associated with power plant point sources through transport modeling. Because cold climate residents spend much of their time indoors, the study included an indoor air quality component, where measurements were made inside and outside a house to study infiltration and indoor sources. In the absence of indoor activities such as cooking and/or heating with a pellet stove, indoor particulate matter concentrations were lower than outdoors; however, cooking and pellet stove burns often caused higher indoor particulate matter concentrations than outdoors. The mass-normalized particulate matter oxidative potential, a health-relevant property measured here by the reactivity with dithiothreiol, of indoor particles varied by source, with cooking particles having less oxidative potential per mass than pellet stove particles.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the response to nifedipine administration measured by changes in hepatic arterial (HA) flow on post-operative Doppler ultrasound (US) to predict short-term complications and long-term outcomes in liver transplant (LT) patients. METHODS: Patients who underwent LT with post-operative Doppler US within 3 days between 1 January 2005 and 31 December 2015 were included in this retrospective single center study. The patients who received and did not receive nifedipine during the Doppler US comprised the study and control groups, respectively. A positive response to nifedipine was defined as the detection of HA flow when none was present initially or a reduction in HA resistive index (RI) ≥ 0.1 after nifedipine administration. The rates of re-transplantation, re-operation, percutaneous intervention (PCI), and overall survival (OS) were recorded. Cox proportional hazards regression was used to evaluate the association of clinic-demographic variables and Doppler findings with the outcome measures. RESULTS: 444 LT patients (305 M/139F, mean age 51.7 ± 17.4 years, mean interval between LT-Doppler US 1.12 ± 0.9 days) are presented. 220 patients comprised the nifedipine study group [n = 157/220 (71.4%) responder, n = 63/220 (28.6%) nonresponder] and 224 patients comprised the control group. There was no difference in re-transplantation or PCI rates between the groups (all p-values ≥ 0.2 and ≥ 0.08, respectively). The responder group had a lower rate of re-operation vs. the control group (15.9% vs. 24.1%, p = 0.03) and nonresponder group (15.9% vs. 31.8%, p = 0.004). 1-year and 2-year OS were similar between the groups (all p-values > 0.37). CONCLUSION: Short-term complication rates and long-term outcomes for patients with liver transplant who responded to nifedipine administration on Doppler US are similar to those who did not require nifedipine administration. A lack of response to nifedipine was associated with a higher re-operation rate.

BACKGROUND: Changes to speech and language are common symptoms across different subtypes of frontotemporal dementia (FTD). These changes affect the ability to communicate, impacting everyday functions. Accurately assessing these changes may help clinicians to track disease progression and detect response to treatment. OBJECTIVE: To determine which aspects of speech show significant change over time and to develop a novel composite score for tracking speech and language decline in individuals with FTD. METHOD: We recruited individuals with FTD to complete remote digital speech assessments based on a picture description task. Speech samples were analyzed to derive acoustic and linguistic measures of speech and language, which were tested for longitudinal change over the course of the study and were used to compute a novel composite score. RESULTS: Thirty-six (16 F, 20 M; M age = 61.3 years) individuals were enrolled in the study, with 27 completing a follow-up assessment 12 months later. We identified eight variables reflecting different aspects of language that showed longitudinal decline in the FTD clinical syndrome subtypes and developed a novel composite score based on these variables. The resulting composite score demonstrated a significant effect of change over time, high test-retest reliability, and a correlation with standard scores on various other speech tasks. CONCLUSION: Remote digital speech assessments have the potential to characterize speech and language abilities in individuals with FTD, reducing the burden of clinical assessments while providing a novel measure of speech and language abilities that is sensitive to disease and relevant to everyday function.

Objective: Depression is a common mental health disorder and a major public health concern, significantly interfering with the lives of those affected. The complex clinical presentation of depression complicates symptom assessments. Day-to-day fluctuations of depression symptoms within an individual bring an additional barrier, since infrequent testing may not reveal symptom fluctuation. Digital measures such as speech can facilitate daily objective symptom evaluation. Here, we evaluated the effectiveness of daily speech assessment in characterizing speech fluctuations in the context of depression symptoms, which can be completed remotely, at a low cost and with relatively low administrative resources. Methods: Community volunteers (N = 16) completed a daily speech assessment, using the Winterlight Speech App, and Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) for 30 consecutive business days. We calculated 230 acoustic and 290 linguistic features from individual's speech and investigated their relationship to depression symptoms at the intra-individual level through repeated measures analyses. Results: We observed that depression symptoms were linked to linguistic features, such as less frequent use of dominant and positive words. Greater depression symptomatology was also significantly correlated with acoustic features: reduced variability in speech intensity and increased jitter. Conclusions: Our findings support the feasibility of using acoustic and linguistic features as a measure of depression symptoms and propose daily speech assessment as a tool for better characterization of symptom fluctuations.

Speech and language changes occur in Alzheimer's disease (AD), but few studies have characterized their longitudinal course. We analyzed open-ended speech samples from a prodromal-to-mild AD cohort to develop a novel composite score to characterize progressive speech changes. Participant speech from the Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) interview was analyzed to compute metrics reflecting speech and language characteristics. We determined the aspects of speech and language that exhibited significant longitudinal change over 18 months. Nine acoustic and linguistic measures were combined to create a novel composite score. The speech composite exhibited significant correlations with primary and secondary clinical endpoints and a similar effect size for detecting longitudinal change. Our results demonstrate the feasibility of using automated speech processing to characterize longitudinal change in early AD. Speech-based composite scores could be used to monitor change and detect response to treatment in future research. HIGHLIGHTS: Longitudinal speech samples were analyzed to characterize speech changes in early AD.Acoustic and linguistic measures showed significant change over 18 months.A novel speech composite score was computed to characterize longitudinal change.The speech composite correlated with primary and secondary trial endpoints.Automated speech analysis could facilitate remote, high frequency monitoring in AD.

BACKGROUND: Radiation lobectomy (RL) utilizes Yttrium-90 (Y90) radioembolization for achieving tumor control and inducing contralateral lobe hypertrophy. Our objective was to evaluate the chronological changes occurring radiologically and histopathologically after Y90 RL. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed 22 patients with chronic liver disease who underwent Y90 RL prior to planned liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma. Gadolinium ethoxybenzyl diethylenetriamine penta-acetic acid (Gd-EOB-DTPA) enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (EOB-MRI) was performed every 3 months. RESULTS: Future liver remnant volume (FLRV) significantly increased up to 9 months after Y90 RL. Gd-EOB-DTPA uptake in the treated lobe experienced a 40% reduction in enhancement ratio (ER) during ensuing first 3 months, and never recovered. The reduced ER in the non-tumoral parenchyma was significantly correlated with increased FLRV and FLR (r = 0.41 and r = 0.35, respectively; both p < 0.01). Histopathological evaluation of non-tumor liver tissue found features of sinusoidal obstruction syndrome as an early change after Y90 RL (median 5.7 months) and parenchymal collapse as a late change (mean 11 months). DISCUSSION: The reduced uptake of Gd-EOB-DTPA at 3 months post Y90 RL correlates with a significant increase in FLRV prior to liver resection. EOB-MRI evaluation at 3 months can guide future plan of action after Y90 RL.

ABSTRACT: Ultrasound is the modality of choice for evaluation of the pediatric scrotum, as it provides excellent image quality without the use of radiation, need for sedation/anesthesia, or use of contrast material and can be used for serial examination. Ultrasound of the scrotum has proven to be useful for assessment of a wide gamut of congenital, infectious, inflammatory, endocrine, neoplastic, and traumatic abnormalities in pediatric patients of all ages from the tiniest premature infant to a fully grown young adult. This review article presents a varied spectrum of conditions that may affect the pediatric scrotum, what the radiologist needs to know to meet the challenge of limiting the differential diagnosis, and how to avoid pitfalls when imaging the scrotum.

BACKGROUND: More sensitive and less burdensome efficacy end points are urgently needed to improve the effectiveness of clinical drug development for Alzheimer disease (AD). Although conventional end points lack sensitivity, digital technologies hold promise for amplifying the detection of treatment signals and capturing cognitive anomalies at earlier disease stages. Using digital technologies and combining several test modalities allow for the collection of richer information about cognitive and functional status, which is not ascertainable via conventional paper-and-pencil tests. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to assess the psychometric properties, operational feasibility, and patient acceptance of 10 promising technologies that are to be used as efficacy end points to measure cognition in future clinical drug trials. METHODS: The Method for Evaluating Digital Endpoints in Alzheimer Disease study is an exploratory, cross-sectional, noninterventional study that will evaluate 10 digital technologies' ability to accurately classify participants into 4 cohorts according to the severity of cognitive impairment and dementia. Moreover, this study will assess the psychometric properties of each of the tested digital technologies, including the acceptable range to assess ceiling and floor effects, concurrent validity to correlate digital outcome measures to traditional paper-and-pencil tests in AD, reliability to compare test and retest, and responsiveness to evaluate the sensitivity to change in a mild cognitive challenge model. This study included 50 eligible male and female participants (aged between 60 and 80 years), of whom 13 (26%) were amyloid-negative, cognitively healthy participants (controls); 12 (24%) were amyloid-positive, cognitively healthy participants (presymptomatic); 13 (26%) had mild cognitive impairment (predementia); and 12 (24%) had mild AD (mild dementia). This study involved 4 in-clinic visits. During the initial visit, all participants completed all conventional paper-and-pencil assessments. During the following 3 visits, the participants underwent a series of novel digital assessments. RESULTS: Participant recruitment and data collection began in June 2020 and continued until June 2021. Hence, the data collection occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic (SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic). Data were successfully collected from all digital technologies to evaluate statistical and operational performance and patient acceptance. This paper reports the baseline demographics and characteristics of the population studied as well as the study's progress during the pandemic. CONCLUSIONS: This study was designed to generate feasibility insights and validation data to help advance novel digital technologies in clinical drug development. The learnings from this study will help guide future methods for assessing novel digital technologies and inform clinical drug trials in early AD, aiming to enhance clinical end point strategies with digital technologies. BACKGROUND: The measurement and monitoring of generalized anxiety disorder requires frequent interaction with psychiatrists or psychologists. Access to mental health professionals is often difficult because of high costs or insufficient availability. The ability to assess generalized anxiety disorder passively and at frequent intervals could be a useful complement to conventional treatment and help with relapse monitoring. Prior work suggests that higher anxiety levels are associated with features of human speech. As such, monitoring speech using personal smartphones or other wearable devices may be a means to achieve passive anxiety monitoring. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to validate the association of previously suggested acoustic and linguistic features of speech with anxiety severity. METHODS: A large number of participants (n=2000) were recruited and participated in a single web-based study session. Participants completed the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item scale assessment and provided an impromptu speech sample in response to a modified version of the Trier Social Stress Test. Acoustic and linguistic speech features were a priori selected based on the existing speech and anxiety literature, along with related features. Associations between speech features and anxiety levels were assessed using age and personal income as covariates. RESULTS: Word count and speaking duration were negatively correlated with anxiety scores (r=-0.12; P<.001), indicating that participants with higher anxiety scores spoke less. Several acoustic features were also significantly (P<.05) associated with anxiety, including the mel-frequency cepstral coefficients, linear prediction cepstral coefficients, shimmer, fundamental frequency, and first formant. In contrast to previous literature, second and third formant, jitter, and zero crossing rate for the z score of the power spectral density acoustic features were not significantly associated with anxiety. Linguistic features, including negative-emotion words, were also associated with anxiety (r=0.10; P<.001). In addition, some linguistic relationships were sex dependent. For example, the count of words related to power was positively associated with anxiety in women (r=0.07; P=.03), whereas it was negatively associated with anxiety in men (r=-0.09; P=.01). CONCLUSIONS: Both acoustic and linguistic speech measures are associated with anxiety scores. The amount of speech, acoustic quality of speech, and gender-specific linguistic characteristics of speech may be useful as part of a system to screen for anxiety, detect relapse, or monitor treatment.

Fairbanks, Alaska, is a subarctic city with fine particle (PM2.5) concentrations that exceed air quality regulations in winter due to weak dispersion caused by strong atmospheric inversions, local emissions, and the unique chemistry occurring under the cold and dark conditions. Here, we report on observations from the winters of 2020 and 2021, motivated by our pilot study that showed exceptionally high concentrations of fine particle hydroxymethanesulfonate (HMS) or related sulfur(IV) species (e.g., sulfite and bisulfite). We deployed online particle-into-liquid sampler-ion chromatography (PILS-IC) in conjunction with a suite of instruments to determine HMS precursors (HCHO, SO2) and aerosol composition in general, with the goal to characterize the sources and sinks of HMS in wintertime Fairbanks. PM2.5 HMS comprised a significant fraction of PM2.5 sulfur (26-41%) and overall PM2.5 mass concentration of 2.8-6.8% during pollution episodes, substantially higher than what has been observed in other regions, likely due to the exceptionally low temperatures. HMS peaked in January, with lower concentrations in December and February, resulting from changes in precursors and meteorological conditions. Strong correlations with inorganic sulfate and organic mass during pollution events suggest that HMS is linked to processes responsible for poor air quality episodes. These findings demonstrate unique aspects of air pollution formation in cold and humid atmospheres.

Detecting early signs of cognitive decline is crucial for early detection and treatment of Alzheimer's Disease. Most of the current screening tools for Alzheimer's Disease represent a significant burden, requiring invasive procedures, or intensive and costly clinical testing. Recent findings have highlighted changes to speech and language patterns that occur in Alzheimer's Disease, and may be detectable prior to diagnosis. Automated tools to assess speech have been developed that can be used on a smartphone or tablet, from one's home, in under 10 min. In this study, we present the results of a study of older adults who completed a digital speech assessment task over a 6-month period. Participants were grouped according to those who scored above (N = 18) or below (N = 18) the recommended threshold for detecting cognitive impairment on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and those with diagnoses of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or early Alzheimer's Disease (AD) (N = 14). Older adults who scored above the MoCA threshold had better performance on speech composites reflecting language coherence, information richness, syntactic complexity, and word finding abilities. Those with MCI and AD showed more rapid decline in the coherence of language from baseline to 6-month follow-up, suggesting that this score may be useful both for detecting cognitive decline and monitoring change over time. This study demonstrates that automated speech assessments have potential as sensitive tools to detect early signs of cognitive impairment and monitor progression over time.

Wintertime episodes of high aerosol concentrations occur frequently in urban and agricultural basins and valleys worldwide. These episodes often arise following development of persistent cold-air pools (PCAPs) that limit mixing and modify chemistry. While field campaigns targeting either basin meteorology or wintertime pollution chemistry have been conducted, coupling between interconnected chemical and meteorological processes remains an insufficiently studied research area. Gaps in understanding the coupled chemical-meteorological interactions that drive high pollution events make identification of the most effective air-basin specific emission control strategies challenging. To address this, a September 2019 workshop occurred with the goal of planning a future research campaign to investigate air quality in Western U.S. basins. Approximately 120 people participated, representing 50 institutions and 5 countries. Workshop participants outlined the rationale and design for a comprehensive wintertime study that would couple atmospheric chemistry and boundary-layer and complex-terrain meteorology within western U.S. basins. Participants concluded the study should focus on two regions with contrasting aerosol chemistry: three populated valleys within Utah (Salt Lake, Utah, and Cache Valleys) and the San Joaquin Valley in California. This paper describes the scientific rationale for a campaign that will acquire chemical and meteorological datasets using airborne platforms with extensive range, coupled to surface-based measurements focusing on sampling within the near-surface boundary layer, and transport and mixing processes within this layer, with high vertical resolution at a number of representative sites. No prior wintertime basin-focused campaign has provided the breadth of observations necessary to characterize the meteorological-chemical linkages outlined here, nor to validate complex processes within coupled atmosphere-chemistry models.

Elevated concentrations of atmospheric bromine are known to cause ozone depletion in the Arctic, which is most frequently observed during springtime. We implement a detailed description of bromine and chlorine chemistry within the WRF-Chem 4.1.1 model, and two different descriptions of Arctic bromine activation: (1) heterogeneous chemistry on surface snow on sea ice, triggered by ozone deposition to snow (Toyota et al., 2011 https://doi.org/10.5194/acp-11-3949-2011), and (2) heterogeneous reactions on sea salt aerosols emitted through the sublimation of lofted blowing snow (Yang et al., 2008, https://doi.org/10.1029/2008gl034536). In both mechanisms, bromine activation is sustained by heterogeneous reactions on aerosols and surface snow. Simulations for spring 2012 covering the entire Arctic reproduce frequent and widespread ozone depletion events, and comparisons with observations of ozone show that these developments significantly improve model predictions during the Arctic spring. Simulations show that ozone depletion events can be initiated by both surface snow on sea ice, or by aerosols that originate from blowing snow. On a regional scale, in spring 2012, snow on sea ice dominates halogen activation and ozone depletion at the surface. During this period, blowing snow is a major source of Arctic sea salt aerosols but only triggers a few depletion events.

BACKGROUND: Multiple survey studies have demonstrated a mental health (MH) burden of COVID-19 globally. However, few studies have examined relevant risk factors for pandemic-related MH issues. METHODS: A link to an online survey was posted from April 8th - June 11th, 2020 which included questions regarding COVID-19 experience, perceived impact of the pandemic on life domains (e.g., social communication, finances), behavioural alterations (e.g., online activities, substance use), and MH treatment history. Current psychiatric symptom severity and impairment were evaluated using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7, Patient Health Questionnaire-9, and the Perceived Stress Scale. RESULTS: Overall, 632 individuals (82% female, mean age:42.04 ± 16.56) in Canada and the United States completed the survey. While few reported contracting COVID-19 (0.5%), the impact of the pandemic was evident, with a vast majority reporting anxiety around COVID-19 infecting loved ones (88%). Almost half (43%) reported previous MH treatment and 31% met criteria for GAD, 29% for MDD and 63% reported significantly high levels of stress. Female sex, younger age and past MH treatment emerged as significant predictors of these issues(p < .01). Age-related differences in the impact of COVID-19 on life domains, substance use, and online activity were also noted. CONCLUSION: The findings from the current sample add to the growing literature suggesting negative effects of COVID-19 on MH, while highlighting specific risk factors. Age may be an important factor in predicting MH during this pandemic.

BACKGROUND: Portal vein embolization before liver resection is considered the therapy of choice for patients with inadequate future liver remnants. The concept of radioembolization with Yttrium-90 to achieve the same goal has limited data. METHODS: We retrospectively compared patients who underwent portal vein embolization and Yttrium-90 lobectomy before resection of hepatocellular carcinoma in patients with chronic liver disease. RESULTS: Seventy-three patients underwent portal vein embolization and 22 patients underwent Yttrium-90. Forty-seven percent of patients before portal vein embolization required additional procedures for tumor control, and 27% of patients after Yttrium-90 required additional procedure to mainly induce further hypertrophy. Both therapies achieved the goal of future liver remnants >40%, but the degree of hypertrophy was significantly higher in Yttrium-90 patients (63% for Yttrium-90, 36% for portal vein embolization, P < .01). Tumor response was significantly better with Yttrium-90, achieving complete response in 50% of patients. Resectability rate was higher after portal vein embolization (85% for portal vein embolization, 64% for Yttrium-90, P = .03). Tumor progression was the most common reason precluding surgery. Complete tumor control was the reason not to pursue surgery in 18% of patients after Yttrium-90. CONCLUSION: Both preoperative portal vein embolization and Yttrium-90, increases liver resectability rates by inducing hypertrophy of future liver remnants in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and chronic liver disease. Yttrium-90 lobectomy achieved better tumor control and provided more time to assess therapy response, optimizing the indication for surgery.

RESUMEN

The primitive ontology approach to quantum mechanics seeks to account for quantum phenomena in terms of a distribution of matter in three-dimensional space (or four-dimensional spacetime) and a law of nature that describes its temporal development. This approach to explaining quantum phenomena is compatible with either a Humean or powerist account of laws. In this paper, I offer a powerist ontology in which the law is specified by Bohmian mechanics for a global configuration of particles. Unlike in other powerist ontologies, however, this law is not grounded in a structural power that is instantiated by the global configuration. Instead, I combine the primitive ontology approach with Aristotle's doctrine of hylomorphism to create a new metaphysical model, in which the cosmos is a hylomorphic substance with an intrinsic power to choreograph the trajectories of the particles.
