People experience similarities between emotional feelings and bodily states on a daily basis, but both the magnitude and pervasiveness of this experiential similarity vary across individuals. Inspired by previous findings that chronic pain (CP) is characterized by strengthened pain-affect coupling and reduced interoceptive accuracy, we conducted 2 cross-sectional studies to examine whether patients with CP would exhibit less differentiated perception and mental representation of emotional feelings and bodily states. In study 1 (N = 500), patients with CP and healthy controls (HCs) completed a self-report questionnaire that asked explicitly about the perceived similarity between 5 basic emotion categories and a series of bodily states. In study 2 (N = 73), a specially designed false memory test was administered to examine whether patients with CP would have reduced differentiation of concepts of negative emotion and somatic distress. We found that patients with CP perceived greater and more pervasive similarities between emotional feelings and bodily states, as indicated by higher questionnaire scores and denser, less specialized bipartite emotion-body networks, both associated with lower subjective interoceptive accuracy. Furthermore, patients with CP formed false memories of negative emotion words (eg, grief) more readily than HCs after memorizing somatic distress words (eg, soreness), as if they represented negative emotion and somatic distress as a single, enmeshed semantic category. Our findings extend previous literature by demonstrating reduced discrimination between emotional and bodily experiences in CP that is not restricted to pain-related emotional and sensory experiences and may be related to a fundamentally less differentiated interoception. PERSPECTIVES: This study shows that patients with chronic pain have a profoundly less differentiated perception and implicit conceptualization of emotional feelings and bodily states, which appears to be associated with altered interoception. These findings may provide new perspectives on why they often experience a stronger pain-affect coupling.

Flash memory has become a ubiquitous solid-state memory device widely used in portable digital devices, computers and enterprise applications. The development of the information age has demanded improvements in memory speed and retention performance. Here we demonstrate an ultrafast non-volatile flash memory based on MoS2/hBN/multilayer graphene van der Waals heterostructures, which achieves an ultrafast writing/erasing speed of 20 ns through two-triangle-barrier modified Fowler-Nordheim tunnelling. Using detailed theoretical analysis and experimental verification, we postulate that a suitable barrier height, gate coupling ratio and clean interface are the main reasons for the breakthrough writing/erasing speed of our flash memory devices. Because of its non-volatility this ultrafast flash memory could provide the foundation for the next generation of high-speed non-volatile memory.

Depressed individuals are biased to perceive, interpret, and judge ambiguous cues in a negative/pessimistic manner. Depressed mood can induce and exacerbate these biases, but the underlying mechanisms are not fully understood. We theorize that depressed mood can bias ambiguity processing by altering one's subjective emotional feelings (e.g. pleasantness/unpleasantness) of the cues. This is because when there is limited objective information, individuals often rely on subjective feelings as a source of information for cognitive processing. To test this theory, three groups (induced depression vs. spontaneous depression vs. neutral) were tested in the Judgement Bias Task (JBT), a behavioral assay of ambiguity processing bias. Subjective pleasantness/unpleasantness of cues was measured by facial electromyography (EMG) from the zygomaticus major (ZM, "smiling") and from the corrugator supercilii (CS, "frowning") muscles. As predicted, induced sad mood (vs. neutral mood) yielded a negative bias with a magnitude comparable to that in a spontaneous depressed mood. The facial EMG data indicates that the negative judgement bias induced by depressed mood was associated with a decrease in ZM reactivity (i.e., diminished perceived pleasantness of cues). Our results suggest that depressed mood may bias ambiguity processing by affecting the reward system.

Glaucoma is a progressive optic neuropathy and is one of the leading causes of blindness in the industrialized countries. The involvement of microRNAs (miRs) has been implicated in regulating the complex biological responses to changes in intraocular pressure. However, the therapeutic role of miR-200a on glaucoma has not been well studied yet. In this study, we confirmed the role of miR-200a in glaucoma progression and identified the related mechanism. Microarray expression profiles were used to screen the glaucoma-related genes. The relationship between miR-200a and FGF7 was validated by bioinformatics analysis and dual-luciferase reporter gene assay. Glaucoma-related parameters including the expression of CD11b and iNOS, activation of Muller cells, and apoptosis of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) in the mouse model were measured by immunohistochemistry, MTT assay and TUNEL assay, respectively. miR-200a was reduced in glaucoma, whereas FGF7 was robustly induced. Thereby, we speculated that FGF7 was negatively regulated by miR-200a. Downregulated miR-200a could activate the MAPK signaling pathway following elevations in ERK, JNK, p38 and Bax expression and reduction in Bcl-2 expression. In the mouse model, downregulated miR-200a increased the expression of CD11b and iNOS and the apoptosis of RGCs, but stimulated the inactivation of Muller cells. However, the above-mentioned alternations induced by downregulated miR-200a were reversed after FGF7 repression. miR-200a can inhibit the FGF7-mediated MAPK signaling pathway and play a protective role on improving the glaucoma-induced optical nerve injury.

Pain, especially chronic pain, can lead to cognitive deficits. Mismatch negativity (MMN) is a change-specific component of the auditory event-related brain potential (ERP) that is thought to provide a unique window into sensory memory processes. The present study was designed to determine how chronic and acute pain affects auditory sensory memory. In experiment 1, MMNs elicited by standard and deviant auditory stimuli at short and long inter-stimulus intervals (ISIs) were compared between trigeminal neuralgia (TN) patients and demographically matched healthy controls (HCs). The TN patients were found to have stronger attenuation of the MMN at longer ISIs than HCs. Correlation analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between the sensory subscale of McGill Pain Questionnaire and MMN amplitude reduction across ISI conditions. In experiment 2, MMNs recorded before, during, and after the cold pressor test were compared in healthy subjects. MMN amplitude was significantly reduced during pain exposure and recovered immediately thereafter. These results suggest that both chronic pain and acute pain can interfere with automatic change detection processes in the brain. This study provides the first evidence that chronic pain patients have a faster auditory memory trace decay than HCs.

Phacoemulsification is a commonly used surgical method in cataract surgery. This paper observes and compares the surgical efficacy of three incisions of different length for phacoemulsification to identify the optimal method for cataract surgery. Ninety patients were enrolled in the present study and divided into three groups. The 1.8-mm group received Bausch & Lomb MI60 foldable intraocular lens (IOL) implantation (n=30), 3.2-mm group received Bausch & Lomb Akreos AO foldable lens implantation (n=30), and 5.5-mm group received Alcon TYPE 05 rigid IOL implantation (n=30). Visual acuity, Oculyzer-based anterior segment analysis, and corneal endothelial cell count before surgery, and 3, 7, 30, and 90d after surgery were recorded and compared. Pseudophakic accommodation three days, one week, one month, and three months after surgery was determined. Intraoperative ultrasound time and ultrasonic energy were recorded. It was finally concluded that for phacoemulsification with the same phaco tip, a 1.8-mm microincision can lead to quicker recovery of visual acuity, more stable astigmatism, and higher pseudophakic accommodation than conventional incision.

Empathizing with another's suffering is important in social interactions. Empathic behavior is selectively elicited from genuine, meaningful pain but not from fake, meaningless scenarios. However, the brain's screening mechanism of false information from meaningful events and the time course for the screening process remains unclear. Using EEG combined with principle components analysis (PCA) techniques, here we compared temporal neurodynamics between the observation of pain and no-pain pictures as well as between true (painful expressions and needle-penetrated arms) and false (needle-penetrated faces with neutral expressions) pain pictures. The results revealed that pain vs. no-pain information is differentiated in the very early ERP components, i.e., the N1/P1 for the face and arm pictures categories and the VPP/N170 for the facial expression category while the mid-latency ERP components, N2 and P3, played key roles in differentiating true from false situations. The complex of N2 and P3 components may serve as a screening mechanism through which observers allocate their attentions to more important or relevant events and screen out false environmental information. This is the first study to describe and provide a time course of the screening process during pain empathy. These findings shed new light on the understanding of empathic processing.

Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) is a systemic form of vasculitis that involves small to medium sized vessels and is associated with high morbidity and mortality. GPA presents a continuous and difficult clinical diagnostic concern, due to the rarity of the disease and the diversity of the manifestations. This case report discusses the unusual symptoms presented by a particular patient, discusses these manifestations and explains how the final diagnosis was identified as GPA. A 40-year old Chinese woman was initially referred to the present institution for a progressive worsening pain, redness and gradual decrease in visual acuity in the eyes over the past 7-year period. Previous therapeutic interventions included noncompliant topical and intravenous dexamethasone for 6 years. A pre-operative examination conducted in a differing hospital to search for the presence of an orbital mass, resulted in the identification of an asymptomatic space-occupying lesion in the right middle lung, which was surgically removed in March 2015. A total of four weeks later, surgery was then applied to remove a left orbital mass, in the same hospital. A total of three months later, the patient was diagnosed with peripheral ulcerative keratitis associated with GPA, at the present institution. The corneal lesions were then treated bilaterally with cryotherapy and oral prednisone and cyclophosphamide were administered. Following surgery, the condition of the eyes appeared to be stable. A total of seven months later, the redness and pain of the right eye recurred, followed by a deep lamellar keratoplasty for the treatment of necrotizing scleritis. The condition of the two eyes was subsequently observed to be stable during the nine month follow-up. The present case study reviews various points to consider in a rare, complicated and potentially blinding case of GPA. GPA must therefore be considered in the differential diagnosis of further inflammatory conditions and tumors. Early diagnosis and an appropriate interdisciplinary approach to management, are required to decrease recurrence and morbidity in patients with GPA-mediated inflammatory ocular disease.

Facial mimicry has been suggested to be a behavioral index for emotional empathy. The present study is the first to investigate the link between facial muscle activity and empathy for pain by facial electromyographic (EMG) recording while observers watched videos depicting real-life painful events. Three types of visual stimulus were used: an intact painful scene and arm-only (needle injection) and face only (painful expression) scenes. Enhanced EMG activity of the corrugator supercilii (CS) and zygomaticus major (ZM) muscles was found when observers viewed others in pain, supporting a unique pain expression that is distinct from the expression of basic emotions. In the intact video stimulus condition, CS activity was correlated positively with the empathic concern score and ZM activity, suggesting facial mimicry mediated empathy for pain. Cluster analysis of facial EMG responses revealed markedly different patterns among stimulus types, including response category, ratio, and temporal dynamics, indicating greater ecological validity of the intact scene in eliciting pain empathy as compared with partial scenes. This study is the first to quantitatively describe pain empathy in terms of facial EMG data. It may provide important evidence for facial mimicry as a behavioral indicator of pain empathy.

ABCB1-mediated multidrug resistance (MDR) remains a major obstacle to successful chemotherapy in ovarian cancer. Herein, afatinib at nontoxic concentrations significantly reversed ABCB1-mediated MDR in ovarian cancer cells in vitro (p < 0.05). Combining paclitaxel and afatinib caused tumor regressions and tumor necrosis in A2780T xenografts in vivo. More interestingly, unlike reversible TKIs, afatinib had a distinctive dual-mode action. Afatinib not only inhibited the efflux function of ABCB1, but also attenuated its expression transcriptionally via down-regulation of PI3K/AKT and MAPK/p38-dependent activation of NF-κB. Furthermore, apart from a substrate binding domain, afatinib could also bind to an ATP binding domain of ABCB1 through forming hydrogen bonds with Gly533, Gly534, Lys536 and Ala560 sites. Importantly, mutations in these four binding sites of ABCB1 and the tyrosine kinase domain of EGFR were not correlated with the reversal activity of afatinib on MDR. Given that afatinib is a clinically approved drug, our results suggest combining afatinib with chemotherapeutic drugs in ovarian cancer. This study can facilitate the rediscovery of superior MDR reversal agents from molecular targeted drugs to provide a more effective and safer way of resensitizing MDR.

We have succeeded in culturing human dermal papilla (DP) cell spheroids and developed a three-dimensional (3D) Matrigel (basement membrane matrix) culture technique that can enhance and restore DP cells unique characteristics in vitro. When 1 × 10(4) DP cells were cultured on the 96-well plates precoated with Matrigel for 5 days, both passage 2 and passage 8 DP cells formed spheroidal microtissues with a diameter of 150-250 µm in an aggregative and proliferative manner. We transferred and recultured these DP spheroids onto commercial plates. Cells within DP spheres could disaggregate and migrate out, which was similar to primary DP. Moreover, we examined the expression of several genes and proteins associated with hair follicle inductivity of DP cells, such as NCAM, Versican, and α-smooth muscle actin, and confirmed that their expression level was elevated in the spheres compared with the dissociated DP cells. To examine the hair-inducing ability of DP spheres, hair germinal matrix cells (HGMCs) and DP spheres were mixed and cultured on Matrigel. Unlike the dissociated DP cells and HGMCs cocultured in two dimensions, HGMCs can differentiate into hair-like fibers under the induction of the DP spheres made from the high-passage cells (passage 8) in vitro. We are the first to show that passage 3 human HGMCs differentiate into hair-like fibers in the presence of human DP spheroids. These results suggest that the 3D Matrigel culture technique is an ideal culture model for forming DP spheroids and that sphere formation partially models the intact DP, resulting in hair induction, even by high-passage DP cells.

This study investigated the anticancer effects of embelin in human gastric cancer cells and the underlying molecular mechanisms. Gastric cancer cells were treated with embelin and 5-FU for methyl-thiazolyl-tetrazolium bromide cell viability assay and flow cytometric detection of cell viability and apoptosis. Protein pathway array (PPA) and Western blot were used to investigate differentially expressed proteins in embelin-treated gastric cancer cells. Embelin reduced gastric cancer cell viability, induced apoptosis, and enhanced 5-FU antitumor activity in gastric cancer cells. Mechanistically, embelin induced cell cycle arrest at the S and G2/M phases. Molecularly, embelin downregulated expression of X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis and cell cycle-regulatory proteins, such as CDK1, CDC25B, CDC25C, cyclinB1, and CDK2. PPA analysis showed that embelin modulated several pathways that are associated with cell growth and apoptosis, such as PI3K/AKT, JAK/STAT, p38 MAPK, and p53. The data from the current study implied that reduction of gastric cancer cell viability after treatment with embelin was through cell cycle arrest at the S and G2/M phases and apoptosis.

BACKGROUND: Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) containing various growth factors has attracted attention in various medical fields. PRP has recently been used during hair transplantation to increase hair density. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of PRP on hair follicle (HF) reconstitution. METHODS AND MATERIALS: Freshly isolated epidermal cells and cultured dermal papilla cells (DPCs) were mixed with various concentrations of activated PRP and transferred to a grafting chamber that was implanted onto the dorsal skin of nude mice. The chambers were removed 1 week after grafting, and HF formation was monitored for 4 weeks. RESULTS: We observed a significant difference (p < .05) in the number of newly formed follicles in the area of reconstituted skin (344 ± 27 with 10% PRP vs 288 ± 35 without PRP). PRP also shortened the time of hair formation significantly; the first hairs were observed in 18 ± 1 days using 10% PRP, versus 20 ± 1 days without PRP. CONCLUSION: A considerable effect of PRP on the time of hair formation and the yield of HF reconstitution was observed in this study. Considering the limited evidence available to judge its efficacy, further studies are required to investigate the mechanism of action of PRP.

The expression and function of P-glycoprotein (P-gp) is associated with the phenotype of multi-drug resistance (MDR), leading chemotherapy failure of patients suffered with cancer. Grape seed procyanidin(GSP) is a natural polyphenol supplement with anti-inflammatory effect. Present study assessed a new use of GSP on the MDR reversal activity and its possible molecular mechanisms in MDR1-overpressing paclitaxel resistant ovarian cancer cells. Our results showed GSP significantly enhanced the cytotoxicity of paclitaxel and adriamycin in paclitaxel resistant A2780/T cells but its parental A2780 cells. Furthermore, GSP strongly inhibited P-gp expression by blocking MDR1 gene transcription, as well as, increased the intracellular accumulation of the P-gp substrate rhodamine-123 in A2780/T cells. Nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB) activity, IκB degradation level and NF-κB/p65 nuclear translocation induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and receptor activator for nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL) were markedly inhibited by pre-treatment with GSP. Meanwhile, GSP inhibited MAPK/ERK pathway by decreasing the phosphorylation of ERK1/2, resulting in reduced the Y-box binding protein 1 (YB-1) activation with blocking its nuclear translocation. Moreover, the up-regulation of P-gp expression, the activation of AKT/NF-κB and MAPK/ERK pathway induced by LPS was attenuated by GSP administration. Compared with PDTC and U1026, inhibitor of NF-κB and MAPK/ERK respectively, GSP showed the same tendency of down-regulating NF-κB and MAPK/ERK mediated YB-1 activities. Thus, GSP reverses P-gp associated MDR by inhibiting the function and expression of P-gp through down-regulation of NF-κB activity and MAPK/ERK pathway mediated YB-1 nuclear translocation, offering insight into the mechanism of reversing MDR by natural polyphenol supplement compounds. GSP could be a new potential MDR reversal agent used for combination therapy with chemotherapeutics in clinic.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of 6-gingerol, the main active component of ginger, on hair shaft elongation in vitro and hair growth in vivo. METHODS: Firstly, Hair follicles were co-cultured with 3 different concentration of 6-gingerol for 5 days and hair elongation in three groups was measured. Secondly, The proliferative effect of 6-gingerol on DPCs was measured using MTT assay. Thirdly, the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in DPCs were measured using Western blotting. In vivo study, the influence of 6-gingerol on hair growth in C57BL/6 rats was measured through topical application of 6-gingerol on the dorsal skin of each animal. RESULTS: The length of hair shaft in 20 microg/ml 6-Gingerol group (0.50 +/- 0.08 mm) is less than 0 microg/ml (0.66 +/- 0.19) mm and 10 microg/ml (0.64 +/- 0.03) mm 6-Gingerol group (P < 0.05). In cell culture, compared to 0 microg/ml and 5 microg/ml 6-Gingerol, 10 microg/ml 6-Gingerol can significantly inhibited the proliferation of DPCs (P < 0.05). Along with the growth inhibition of DPCs by 6-gingerol, the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio increased obviously. In vivo study, the hair length and density decreased a lot after using 1 mg/ml 6-gingerol. CONCLUSIONS: 6-Gingerol can suppress human hair shaft elongation because it has pro-apoptotic effects on DPCs via increasing Bax/Bcl-2 ratio. It might inhibit hair growth by prolonging the telogen stage in vivo.

Rhodamine 123 (R123), as a typical of P-gp substrate, was widely used to quantify P-glycoprotein (P-gp) functional efflux activity in vivo. A new, rapid and sensitive method was developed for quantifying R123 in rat plasma using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). R123 and Rhodamine 6G (R6G, the internal standard, IS) were extracted from aliquots of plasma with ethyl acetate and dichloromethane (4:1) as the solvent and chromatographic separation was performed using a Zorbax Eclipse Plus C18 column. The mobile phase was composed of A: ammonium formate-formic acid buffer containing 5 mM ammonium formate and 0.1% formic acid and B: methanol (A:B, 5:95, v/v). To quantify R123 and IS respectively, multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) transition of m/z 345.2→285.2 and m/z 443.3→415.2 was performed. The analysis time was 4 min in positive mode; the calibration curve was linear in the concentration range of 1-200 ng/ml. The lowest limit of quantification (LLOQ) reached 1 ng/ml. The intra and inter-day precision were less than 9.2% for the low quality control (QC) level, and 3.4% for other QC levels, respectively, while the intra and inter-day relative errors ranged between -7.4% and 9.1% for three QC concentration levels. The LC-MS/MS method proved to be simple, accurate, reliable and with a shorter running time and has been successfully applied to evaluate the functional activity of P-glycoprotein in an absorption experiment in the rat.

To investigate the modulation on the P-glycoprotein in the jejunum by combined use of Glycyrrhiza inflata and Kansui with ussing chamber and rt-pcr, Rhodamine 123 (R123), a P-gp substrate and fluorescein sodium (CF), a model drug of non-P-gp substrate transported by a passive diffusion were taken as investigational drugs. Because these two drugs can be easily assayed and widely used in various research fields. The permeability of R123 or CF via Wistar rat jejunum membranes was evaluated by in vitro ussing chamber after oral administration of four different decoctions of Glycyrrhiza inflata and Kansui for 1 week. And the concentration of R123 or CF was determined by the fluorospectrophotometry in the receiving solution. Meanwhile the expression of mdr1a in P-glycoprotein was detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR. After oral administration of combined decoction of the single drug, the absorptive directed permeability of R123 increased significantly (P < 0.01). On the other hand, Kansui and combine decoction of the two drugs also decrease the permeability of secretory directed transport (P < 0.05). No action of Glycyrrhiza inflata was found on the secretory transport of R123 [Papp = (2.56 +/- 0.38) x 10(-5), cm x s(-1)] across the jejunum tissues, while Papp of control group was found [Papp = (2.35 +/- 0.27) x 10(-5), cm x s(-1)]. After oral administration of Kansui decoction for 1 week and 2 weeks, the levels of mdr1a expression in Wistar rats were lower than that of the control group, but there were no significant difference in the results. Meanwhile, Glycyrrhiza inflata had no effect on transport of CF across the jejunum tissues, though the other three groups could decrease the permeability of CF, as compared with control group. Kansui may slightly inhibit P-glycoprotein function in the intestinal membrane. For another, some compositions in Kansui inhibit P-glycoprotein function, and some others strengthen the tight junction between cells in the intestinal membrane to decrease permeability of CF. As the inhibitory action to P-glycoprotein was enhanced by combination of Glycyrrhiza inflata and Kansui, based on the results, it may be one of the mechanisms of creating toxicity once co-administration of Glycyrrhiza inflata and Kansui.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of liquorice in functional modulation of intestinal P-glycoprotein (P-gp) in rats. METHODS: An in vitro diffusion chamber system (Ussing chamber) was used to examine the direct effect of liquorice decoction on rhodamine 123 (a subtrate of P-gp) transport and evaluate the permeability of rhodamine 123 or fluorescein sodium through rat jejunum membranes after oral administration of liquorice decoction. RESULTS: Direct application of liquorice decoction did not obviously affect rhodamine 123 transport across the intestinal mucosa. Oral administration of liquorice decoction (10 g/kg, twice daily for a week) significantly increased the absorption of rhodamine 123 and also enhanced rhodamine 123 secretion across the jejunum mucosa. Liquorice had no obvious effect on the transport of CF across the jejunum mucosa. CONCLUSION: Liquorice may slightly inhibit P-gp function in the intestinal mucosa to increase the intestinal absorption of rhodamine 123.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the modulation of Glycyrrhiza inflata and Daphne genkwa on the permeability characteristics of rhodamine 123 (R123), one P-glycoprotein (P-gp) substrate, across the jejunum membranes. And then approach the possible permeability mechanism of the drugs after co-administration of G. inflata and D. genkwa in gastrointestinal tract. METHOD: The permeability of R123 or fluorescein sodium (CF) via Wistar rat jejunum membranes was evaluated by in vitro diffusion chamber system after oral administration of four different decoctions and 0.9% sodium chloride (20 mL x kg(-1)) for 1 week. And the concentration of R123 or CF was determined by the fluorospectrophotometry. The apparent permeability coefficient (P(app)) was calculated by the equation P(app) = dQ/d(t) x (1/A x C0), where P(app) was expressed in cm/s, dQ/dT was the slope of the linear portion of the permeation curves, A was the diffusion area, and C0 was the initial concentration of rebamipide in the donor side, and then compare their differences were compared with control group. RESULT: After oral administration of G. inflata decoction, D. genkwa decoction and decoction of the combination of the previous decoctions, the absorptive directed transport of R123 was significantly increased (P < 0.05, compared with control group). On the other hand, D. genkwa could also decrease the permeability of secretory directed transport (P(app) = 2.98 +/- 0.59), while no action of G. inflata was found on the secretory transport of R123 ( P(app) = 5.24 +/- 3.98) across the jejunum tissues, while P(app) of control group was 4.38 +/- 1.18. Meanwhile, G. inflata had no effect on transport of CF across the jejunum tissues, though the other three groups could decrease the permeability of CF, as compared with control group. CONCLUSION: G. inflata may slightly inhibit P-glycoprotein function in the intestinal membrane, while D. genkwa may be a relatively strong inhibitor of P-gp. For another, some compositions in D. genkwa inhibit P-gp function, and some others strengthen the tight junction between cells in the intestinal membrane to decrease permeability of CF. As the inhibitory action to P-gp was enhanced by combination of G. inflata and D. genkwa, based on the results, it may be one of the mechanisms of creating toxicity once co-administration of G. inflata and D. genkwa.
