RESUMEN

Fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs) are a highly conserved family of transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinases with multiple roles in the regulation of key cellular processes. Specific FGFR mutations have been observed in several types of cancers, including gastric carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma. Dose escalation data of 24 Japanese patients with solid tumors treated with Tasurgratinib (previously known as E7090), a potent, selective FGFR1-3 inhibitor, was reported in a phase I, first-in-human, single-center study. Based on the safety, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamic profiles observed in this study, the recommended dose of 140 mg once daily was selected for the expansion part (Part 2), a multicenter expansion of the dose-finding study restricted to patients with tumors harboring FGFR gene alterations. Safety and preliminary efficacy were assessed in Part 2. Pharmacodynamic pharmacogenomic markers (serum phosphate, FGF23, and 1,25-(OH)2-vitamin D, circulating tumor DNA) and pharmacokinetic profiles were also evaluated. A total of 16 patients were enrolled in Part 2, six with cholangiocarcinoma and 10 with gastric cancer. The most common treatment-emergent adverse events were hyperphosphatemia, palmar-plantar erythrodysesthesia syndrome, and paronychia. Five partial responses (83.3%) in cholangiocarcinoma patients and one partial response (11.1%) in gastric cancer patients were observed; median progression-free survival was 8.26 months (95% confidence interval [CI] 3.84, not evaluable [NE]) and 3.25 months (95% CI 0.95, 4.86), and overall survival was 22.49 months (95% CI 6.37, NE) and 4.27 months (95% CI 2.23, 7.95), respectively, in the two groups. In conclusion, Tasurgratinib 140 mg has a tolerable safety profile with good clinical efficacy in patients with cholangiocarcinoma harboring FGFR2 gene rearrangements.

In patients undergoing mastectomy for locally advanced breast cancer, surgical skin flap reconstruction is sometimes required in order to cover large skin defects. Generally, we reconstruct by using latissimus dorsi or rectus abdominis when the direct closure is difficult. These constructions are difficult and have various complications. Our facility started rhomboid flap reconstruction after mastectomy. We report the result of rhomboid flap reconstruction. Five patients were performed rhomboid flap reconstruction. Three of 5 patients were cutaneous invasion, 1 patient was skin metastasis after mastectomy, and the other patient was Paget's disease. Regarding post operative complications, there were 2 cases of surgical site infection, 2 cases of skin necrosis and 1 case of seroma. The median length of postoperative hospital stay was 9 days. Median follow-up period was 381 days(221-508 days). Only 1 patient progressed. The median progression-free survival was 332 days(221-508 days). Rhomboid flap reconstruction is effective way for the improvement of the QOL of the patients with advanced breast cancer because the long term result was not bad and we can repair large skin defect easily.

Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is an important clinical challenge that threatens patients' quality of life. This sub-study of the ABROAD trial investigated the influence of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) on CIPN, using genotype data from a randomized study to determine the optimal dose of a 3-week-cycle regimen of nab-paclitaxel (q3w nab-PTX) in patients with metastatic breast cancer (MBC). Patients with HER2-negative MBC were randomly assigned to three doses of q3w nab-PTX (SD: 260 mg/m2 vs. MD: 220 mg/m2 vs. LD: 180 mg/m2). Five SNPs (EPHA4-rs17348202, EPHA5-rs7349683, EPHA6-rs301927, LIMK2-rs5749248, and XKR4-rs4737264) were analyzed based on the results of a previous genome-wide association study. Per-allele SNP associations were assessed by a Cox regression to model the cumulative dose of nab-PTX up to the onset of severe or worsening sensory neuropathy. A total of 141 patients were enrolled in the parent study; 91(65%) were included in this sub-study. Worsening of CIPN was significantly greater in the cases with XKR4 AC compared to those with a homozygote AA (HR 1.86, 95%CI: 1.00001-3.46, p=0.049). There was no significant correlation of CIPN with any other SNP. A multivariate analysis showed that the cumulative dose of nab-PTX was most strongly correlated with CIPN (p<0.01).

PURPOSE: To gauge the effects of treatment practices on prognosis for older patients with HER2-positive early breast cancer, particularly to determine whether adjuvant trastuzumab alone can offer benefit over no adjuvant therapy. This is a prospective cohort study which accompanies the RESPECT that is a randomized-controlled trial (RCT). METHODS: Patients who declined the RCT were treated based on the physician's discretion. We studied the 1) trastuzumab-plus-chemotherapy group, 2) trastuzumab-monotherapy group, and 3) non-trastuzumab group (no therapy or anticancer therapy without trastuzumab). The primary endpoint was disease-free survival (DFS), which was compared using the propensity-score method. Relapse-free survival (RFS) and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) were assessed. RESULTS: We enrolled 123 patients aged over 70 years (median: 74.5). Treatment categories were: trastuzumab-plus-chemotherapy group (n = 36, 30%), trastuzumab-monotherapy group (n = 52, 43%), and non-trastuzumab group (n = 32, 27%). The 3-year DFS was 96.7% in trastuzumab-plus-chemotherapy group, 89.2% in trastuzumab-monotherapy group, and 82.5% in non-trastuzumab group. DFS in non-trastuzumab group was lower than in trastuzumab-plus-chemotherapy and trastuzumab-monotherapy groups (propensity-adjusted hazard ratio; HR: 3.29; 95% CI: 1.15-9.39; P = 0.026). The RFS in non-trastuzumab group was lower than in trastuzumab-plus-chemotherapy and trastuzumab-monotherapy groups (propensity-adjusted HR = 7.80; 95% CI: 2.32-26.2, P < 0.0001). There were no significant intergroup differences in the proportions of patients showing HRQoL deterioration at 36 months (P = 0.717). CONCLUSION: Trastuzumab-treated patients had better prognoses than patients not treated with trastuzumab without deterioration of HRQoL. Trastuzumab monotherapy could be considered for older patients who reject chemotherapy.

The cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) 4/6 inhibitors, palbociclib and abemaciclib, have been approved in Japan. However, the selection criteria for these drugs have not been established. Hence, we aimed to identify the risk factors for CDK4/6 inhibitor-induced intolerable adverse events requiring dose reduction or therapy cessation and to establish useful markers for choosing the appropriate CDK4/6 inhibitor, based on the incidence of the intolerable adverse events. This retrospective cohort analysis included patients with advanced breast cancer who received 125 mg/d palbociclib or 300 mg/d abemaciclib. We defined significant adverse events (SAEs) as side effects requiring dose reduction or therapy cessation. Thirty-six percent of the patients who received palbociclib (9/25) and 27.3% of those who received abemaciclib (9/33) experienced SAEs. In palbociclib and abemaciclib groups, baseline white blood cell (WBC) counts and serum albumin (ALB) levels, respectively, were significantly lower in patients who experienced SAEs than in those who did not (palbociclib: p = 0.007; abemaciclib: p = 0.004). According to the receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, the optimal cutoff values for baseline WBC count and ALB level were 5700/µL and 4.0 g/dL, respectively. Among patients with ALB levels >4.0 g/dL, the incidence of abemaciclib-induced SAEs was significantly lower than that of the palbociclib-induced SAEs (1/17 (5.9%) vs. 6/14 (42.9%), odds ratio: 11.0, 95% confidence interval: 1.07-583, p = 0.0281). Thus, a baseline WBC count ≤5700/µL and ALB level ≤4.0 g/dL may be risk factors for palbociclib and abemaciclib-induced SAEs, respectively. Also, high ALB levels can serve as a useful marker for choosing abemaciclib.

OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study was to develop and validate a state-of-the-art, deep learning (DL)-based model for detecting breast cancers on mammography. METHODS: Mammograms in a hospital development dataset, a hospital test dataset, and a clinic test dataset were retrospectively collected from January 2006 through December 2017 in Osaka City University Hospital and Medcity21 Clinic. The hospital development dataset and a publicly available digital database for screening mammography (DDSM) dataset were used to train and to validate the RetinaNet, one type of DL-based model, with five-fold cross-validation. The model's sensitivity and mean false positive indications per image (mFPI) and partial area under the curve (AUC) with 1.0 mFPI for both test datasets were externally assessed with the test datasets. RESULTS: The hospital development dataset, hospital test dataset, clinic test dataset, and DDSM development dataset included a total of 3179 images (1448 malignant images), 491 images (225 malignant images), 2821 images (37 malignant images), and 1457 malignant images, respectively. The proposed model detected all cancers with a 0.45-0.47 mFPI and had partial AUCs of 0.93 in both test datasets. CONCLUSIONS: The DL-based model developed for this study was able to detect all breast cancers with a very low mFPI. Our DL-based model achieved the highest performance to date, which might lead to improved diagnosis for breast cancer.

The patient was a 64-year-old woman. The patient was operated for left breast cancer(pT2N0M0, stage ⅡA, Luminal A). Eight years after surgery, CT findings revealed lung metastasis in the S8 and S9 areas of the left lung. The patient was treated with a combination of abemaciclib and letrozole, which resulted in a partial response(PR). One year after treatment, the lung metastases remained small, but multiple interstitial shadows appeared in both lower lung fields. The patient was diagnosed with drug-induced interstitial lung disease(Grade 1), and abemaciclib withdrawal and steroid therapy were initiated. After 3 months of treatment with prednisolone at 30 mg/day, the interstitial shadows tended to improve on CT, but a liver abscess was found in the S8 area of the right lobe of the liver. Prednisolone was tapered and abemaciclib was resumed at a dose of 200 mg/day, resulting in scarring of the lung injury and resolution of the liver abscess. The patient's PR was maintained for 18 months after relapse. We report a case of liver abscess during treatment of abemaciclib-induced interstitial lung disease.

BACKGROUND: To report our findings on quality of life (QoL) in a randomized phase II study to determine the optimal dose of 3-week cycle nab-paclitaxel (q3w nab-PTX) in patients with metastatic breast cancer (MBC). METHODS: Patients with HER2-negative MBC were randomly assigned to three different doses of q3w nab-PTX (SD 260 mg/m2 vs. MD: 220 mg/m2 vs. LD 180 mg/m2). QoL was assessed at baseline and during the second, fourth and sixth courses of treatment using the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Taxane (FACT-Taxane), Cancer Fatigue Scale (CFS) and EuroQol 5-Dimension (EQ-5D). Comparisons were performed with mixed-model repeated measures (MMRM). RESULTS: A total of 141 patients were enrolled in the parent study, and 136 (96%) (44, 45 and 47 in the SD, MD, and LD groups) were included in the analysis. MMRM analysis showed that the difference from the baseline FACT-Taxane trial outcome index at MD and LD were significantly higher than that at SD (MD vs. SD P < 0.001, LD vs. SD P < 0.001). Differences from baseline for FACT-Taxane total, physical and emotional well-being, and taxane subscale scores at MD and LD were also higher than at SD. The difference from baseline for the CFS score at LD was lower than at SD (P = 0.013) and those for EQ-5D utility scores at MD and LD were higher than at SD (MD vs. SD P = 0.011, LD vs. SD P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: QoL of patients treated with 220 or 180 mg/m2 of q3w nab-PTX was significantly better than that of patients treated with 260 mg/m2. Immunoglobulin (Ig) G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a group of chronic relapsing inflammatory conditions. Although IgG4-RD can occur in various organs, it is rarely observed in mammary glands. Here, we report a case of IgG4-related mastitis (IgG4-RM) that needed to be differentiated from breast cancer. A 54-year-old woman was examined for a tumor in her left breast. Mammary ultrasonography revealed an irregular hypoechoic tumor measuring 45.0 × 43.0 × 32.0 mm in size. A core-needle biopsy of the left breast tissue revealed a high degree of mixed T and B lymphocytic and plasma cell infiltration, as well as interstitial fibrosis. IgG4-RD was diagnosed based on hematological examination that revealed an abnormal IgG4 value of 332 mg/dl. All the clinical diagnostic criteria for IgG4 were met, resulting in a definitive diagnosis of IgG4-RM.

BACKGROUND/AIM: In our previous study, first-line eribulin (ERI) showed 25 weeks of progression-free survival (PFS). This study investigated the efficacy and safety of ERI re-administration in metastatic breast cancer (MBC) patients. PATIENTS AND METHODS: HER2-negative MBC patients who had never received chemotherapy for MBC received first-line ERI for 18 weeks if they did not have disease progression, and then one cycle of S-1 before ERI re-administration. RESULTS: Twelve patients received ERI re-administration. The PFS of re-administered ERI was 13 weeks. Total duration of ERI use was 30 weeks. The incidence and severity of adverse events were consistent with previous reports. CONCLUSION: In the first-line setting, the total PFS of eribulin was extended by S-1 administration before disease progression, compared with that of our previous report.

Optimal treatment strategies for hormone receptor (HR)-positive, HER2-negative advanced and/or metastatic breast cancer (AMBC) remain uncertain. We investigated the clinical usefulness of adding capecitabine to maintenance endocrine therapy after induction chemotherapy and the efficacy of reinduction chemotherapy. Patients who had received bevacizumab-paclitaxel induction therapy and did not have progressive disease (PD) were randomized to maintenance therapy with endocrine therapy alone (group E) or endocrine plus capecitabine (1657 mg/m2/day on days 1-21, q4w) (group EC). In case of PD after maintenance therapy, patients received bevacizumab-paclitaxel reinduction therapy. Ninety patients were randomized. The median progression-free survival (PFS) under maintenance therapy (primary endpoint) was significantly longer in group EC (11.1 {95% CI, 8.0-11.8} months) than in group E (4.3 {3.6-6.0} months) (hazard ratio, 0.53; p < 0.01). At 24 months from the induction therapy start, the overall survival (OS) was significantly longer in group EC than in group E (hazard ratio, 0.41; p = 0.046). No difference was found in the time to failure of strategy (13.9 and 16.6 months in groups E and EC, respectively). Increased capecitabine-associated toxicities in group EC were tolerable. Addition of capecitabine to maintenance endocrine therapy may be a beneficial option after induction chemotherapy for HR-positive, HER2-negative AMBC patients.

BACKGROUND: We have previously demonstrated S-1 is non-inferior to taxane with respect to overall survival as first-line chemotherapy for HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer. We aimed to confirm whether S-1 is also non-inferior to anthracycline-containing regimens in the same setting. METHODS: We conducted an open-label, non-inferiority, Phase 3 study. Individuals who had HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer, had received no chemotherapy for advanced disease and had endocrine therapy resistance, were randomly assigned to the anthracycline-containing regimens or S-1. The primary endpoint was overall survival. A pre-planned combined analysis of our two Phase 3 studies was also carried out. RESULTS: We enrolled 230 patients (anthracycline, n = 115; S-1, n = 115). Median overall survival was 30.1 months (95% CI 24.9-35.8) with the S-1 group and 33.7 months (95% CI 25.5-36.9) with the anthracycline group. The HR for the anthracycline group was 1.09 (95% CI 0.80-1.48). The combined analysis constituted 814 patients (395 assigned to standard treatment (anthracycline or taxane); 419 assigned to S-1). Median overall survival was 36.3 months in the standard treatment group and 32.7 months in the S-1 group. S-1 was non-inferior to standard treatment in terms of overall survival (HR 1.06 (95% CI 0.90-1.25); P non-inferiority = 0.0062). CONCLUSIONS: S-1 could be considered a new treatment option for first-line chemotherapy for patients with HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer. PURPOSE: We report findings on quality of life (QoL) in the RESPECT trial, which compared adjuvant trastuzumab monotherapy with trastuzumab plus chemotherapy in older patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive breast cancer (BC). PATIENTS AND METHODS: Patients age 70-80 years with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-positive surgically treated breast cancer were randomly assigned to receive trastuzumab (T) or trastuzumab plus chemotherapy (T + C). QoL was assessed using the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-General (FACT-G), Philadelphia Geriatric Center Morale Scale, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Patient Neurotoxicity Questionnaire, and Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology Index of Competence at baseline and after 2, 12, and 36 months. Comparisons were based on individual changes from baseline and were performed by Fisher's test or mixed-model repeated-measures. RESULTS: Among 275 patients in the parent study, 231 (84%) (average age: 74 years) were included in the analysis. At 2, 12, and 36 months, 198, 177, and 178 patients completed surveys, and the mean FACT-G scores at each survey point were 78.9, 80.4, 82.7, and 79.1 in group T and 79.5, 74.5, 78.4, and 78.5 in group T + C. Compared with group T + C, the proportion of patients showing QoL deterioration (≥ 5 points decrease from baseline in FACT-G) was significantly lower at 2 months (31% v 48%; P = .016) and 12 months (19% v 38%; P = .009). In group T, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale score (P = .003) and the proportion of severe sensory peripheral neuropathy (P = .001) were significantly lower at 2 months, and Philadelphia Geriatric Center Morale Scale and Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology Index of Competence scores were significantly higher (P = .024, .042) at 12 months. At 36 months, there were no significant differences in any QoL items. CONCLUSION: Detrimental effects of adjuvant chemotherapy on global QoL, morale, and activity capacity lasted for at least 12 months but were not observed at 36 months.

A 52-year-old woman experienced right breast pain and detected a mammary tumor 6 months ago. She then noticed rapid enlargement of the tumor, which was suspected to be a borderline malignant phyllodes tumor. The tumor size was approximately 15 cm and presented with skin congestion but without infiltration. The tumor showed internal heterogeneous echo and rich blood flow signals on breast ultrasonography. Ultrasonography also showed swelling of the axillary lymph node. Lymph node cytology revealed the presence of atypical cells in the lymph node, and CT scan showed lymph node metastasis in the right axilla and no distant metastases. We performed mastectomy with lymph node sampling. Pathological examination of the specimens confirmed a malignant phyllodes tumor and a metastatic lymph node. One month later, a subcutaneous mass and multiple pulmonary nodules were identified on a chest CT scan. Chest wall irradiation(45 Gy)and chemotherapy were performed, but the number of pulmonary nodules, pleural effusion, and size of the subcutaneous mass continued to increase. Although she underwent another chemotherapeutic treatment, she died 5 months after the surgery. Thus, we report a case of a malignant phyllodes tumor with an extremely rare lymph node metastasis, which rapidly progressed even though multimodal therapy was performed.

INTRODUCTION: The previous randomized phase 3 trial (SELECT BC) showed that S-1 as a first-line chemotherapy for metastatic breast cancer (MBC) is non-inferior to taxane with respect to overall survival. This study aimed to identify the usefulness of metabolism-related genes as predictive biomarkers for the response to S-1 compared with taxane using tumor tissue samples from the previous trial.   PATIENTS AND METHODS: In this SELECT BC-EURECA study, 147 patients with human epidermal growth factor 2 (HER2)-negative MBC who received either S-1 or taxane were evaluated. Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded specimens were collected, and 14 genes involved in the pyrimidine metabolic pathway, estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, HER2, Ki67, and beta-tubulin were measured using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction in microdissected tumor specimens. The expression of each gene was categorized as low, intermediate, and high by tertile values.   RESULTS: Interaction tests to identify biomarkers for the response to S-1 compared with taxane, revealed the following as the top 3 biomarkers: RRM1 (P value = 0.24), GGH (P value = 0.25), and MTHFR (P value = 0.28). In the S-1 group, lower GGH and higher MTHFR expression were significantly correlated with better time to treatment failure. In the taxane group, there was no gene that was identified as a significant indicator of treatment failure. CONCLUSION: This biomarker analysis from SELECT BC did not identify any predictive biomarkers for the response to S-1 compared with taxane. Future studies with larger sample size and information on not only mRNA, but also protein and DNA for broad functional analyses are needed.

BACKGROUND: Clinical sequencing using a panel of genes has recently been applied worldwide for patients with refractory solid tumors, but the significance of clinical sequencing using gene panel testing remains uncertain. Here we sought to clarify the feasibility and utility of clinical sequencing in the treatment of refractory tumors at our hospital. METHODS: A total of 39 patients with advanced solid tumors treated at our hospital between 2018 and 2020 were enrolled in the clinical sequencing. Among them, we identified 36 patients whose tissue samples were of suitable quality for clinical sequencing, and we analyzed the genomic profiles of these tumors. RESULTS: Pathogenic alterations were detected in 28 (78%) of the 36 patients. The most common mutation was TP53 (55%), followed by KRAS (22%), and the highest frequency of gene amplification was ERBB2 (17%). Nine of the 36 patients were identified as candidates for novel molecular-targeted therapy based on their actionable gene alterations, but only one case ended up receiving novel targeted therapy following the genetic tests. CONCLUSIONS: Our current results suggested that clinical sequencing might be useful for the detection of pathogenic alterations and the management of additional cancer treatment. However, molecular target based on actionable genomic alteration does not always bridge to subsequent therapy due to clinical deterioration, refusal for unapproved drug, and complexity of clinical trial access. Both improved optimal timing of clinical sequencing and a consensus about its off-label use might help patients receive greater benefit from clinical sequencing.

PURPOSE: The molecular subtype of breast cancer is an important component of establishing the appropriate treatment strategy. In clinical practice, molecular subtypes are determined by receptor expressions. In this study, we developed a model using deep learning to determine receptor expressions from mammograms. METHODS: A developing data set and a test data set were generated from mammograms from the affected side of patients who were pathologically diagnosed with breast cancer from January 2006 through December 2016 and from January 2017 through December 2017, respectively. The developing data sets were used to train and validate the DL-based model with five-fold cross-validation for classifying expression of estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PgR), and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-neu (HER2). The area under the curves (AUCs) for each receptor were evaluated with the independent test data set. RESULTS: The developing data set and the test data set included 1,448 images (997 ER-positive and 386 ER-negative, 641 PgR-positive and 695 PgR-negative, and 220 HER2-enriched and 1,109 non-HER2-enriched) and 225 images (176 ER-positive and 40 ER-negative, 101 PgR-positive and 117 PgR-negative, and 53 HER2-enriched and 165 non-HER2-enriched), respectively. The AUC of ER-positive or -negative in the test data set was 0.67 (0.58-0.76), the AUC of PgR-positive or -negative was 0.61 (0.53-0.68), and the AUC of HER2-enriched or non-HER2-enriched was 0.75 (0.68-0.82). CONCLUSION: The DL-based model effectively classified the receptor expressions from the mammograms. Applying the DL-based model to predict breast cancer classification with a noninvasive approach would have additive value to patients.

Primary adenoid cystic carcinoma(ACC)of the breast is a rare type of breast cancer. A 53-year-old woman with a right breast mass was examined at our institute. Ultrasonography showed 12.5×10.3×8.4 mm sized an ill-defined hypoechoic mass at zone C of the right breast. Pathological examination of core needle biopsy revealed atypical cells with solid and cribriform growth pattern. Computed tomography did not reveal lymph node metastases or distant metastases. The preoperative diagnosis was Stage ⅠA(cT1cN0M0, ER/PgR/HER2=-/-/1+)invasive ductal carcinoma or ACC. Surgery consisted of breast-conserving surgery and sentinel node biopsy. Pathological examination of the excised specimen revealed a so- called adenoid cystic pattern, so the final diagnosis was Stage ⅠA(pT1cN0M0, ER/PgR/HER2=-/-/1+)ACC. After 1 year of observation without adjuvant treatment, there has been no recurrence.

For qualitative diagnosis of breast mass, core needle biopsy(CNB)and fine-needle aspiration biopsy cytology(FNAC)are widely used. Overseas, vacuum-assisted biopsy(VAB)is often the first choice for qualitative diagnosis, and its proper use has become a clinical issue. In addition, with the progress of diagnostic imaging in recent years, the chances of finding micro-lesions such as ductal carcinoma in situ(DCIS)are increasing. Since a sufficient amount of tissue sample is required for these diagnoses and abundant biopsy materials are required, tissue biopsy by VAB may be desirable. The advantage of tissue biopsy with VAB is that accurate definitive diagnosis is possible by collecting a sufficient amount of tissue to obtain pretreatment tissue information. On the other hand, there is concern that patient stress may occur, such as hematoma formation after puncture and invasion by a thick puncture needle. It is lightweight and has an ergonomic design that provides stable grip. New technological innovations in this device may contribute to the reduction of patient stress, and are expected to be used in the future. We outline the experience of using BD EleVationTM in breast suction tissue biopsy at our institution.
