RESUMEN

The electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CO2RR) to generate feedstocks for chemical products (e.g., carbon monoxide, CO) offers a highly attractive method for achieving the closure of the carbon cycle. Ionic liquids (ILs)-functionalized Cu-based catalyst Cu2O-HKUST-1/IL1/PTFE was developed, configuring metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) based materials with high adsorption and multiple active sites. The modified electrocatalysts exhibited high specific surface area, strong CO2 adsorption capacity, abundant active sites, and fast charge transfer rate. The nucleophilic active site of deprotonation at the C2 site in imidazole ILs further improved the selectivity of proton migration and CO product generation, which was verified through DFT calculations for the low Gibbs free energy of the generated intermediate interactions. In addition, the hydrophobic interface constructed by PTFE facilitated the inhibition of the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and significantly improved the efficiency of CO2 electroreduction. The Cu2O-HKUST-1/IL1/PTFE catalyst manifested a high C1 Faraday efficiency (FE) up to 96.5% and in particular 92.7% for FECO at -1.7 V vs RHE. The present work provides an efficient strategy for configuring ILs-functionalized MOFs-based materials with good hydrophobic interfaces to enhance the efficiency of CO2 electroreduction to C1 products.

The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is one of the largest organelles, and Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Response Pathway is a series of responses triggered by the homeostatic imbalance of the ER and the state in which unfolded or misfolded proteins accumulate in the ER, which can trigger cell death. Cell death plays a crucial role in the development of diseases such as gynecological oncology. Herein, we review the current research on the response and ovarian cancer, discussing the key sensors (IRE1, PERK, ATF6), and the conditions under which it occurs (Ca2+ homeostasis disruption, hypoxia, others). Using the response as a starting point, provide a comprehensive overview of the relationship with the four types of cell death (apoptosis, autophagy, immunogenic cell death, paraptosis) in an attempt to provide new targeted therapeutic strategies for the organelle-Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Response Pathway-cell death in ovarian cancer therapy.

BACKGROUND: Cell subsets differentially modulate host immune responses to Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) infection. However, the nature and functions of these subsets against osteoarticular tuberculosis (OTB) are unclear. Here, we aimed to understand the phenotypes and functions of immune cell subsets in patients with OTB using single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-Seq). METHODS: Pathological and healthy adjacent tissues were isolated from patients with OTB and subjected to scRNA-Seq. Unsupervised clustering of cells was performed based on gene expression profiles, and uniform manifold approximation and projection was used for clustering visualization. RESULTS: Thirteen cell subsets were identified in OTB tissues. scRNA-seq datasets of patients and healthy controls (HCs) showed that infection changed the frequency of immune cell subsets in OTB tissues. Myeloid cell examination revealed nine subsets. The frequency of macrophage-RGS1high subsets decreased in OTB tissues; this increased MTB susceptibility in an SLC7A11/ferroptosis-dependent manner. Immunohistochemistry assays and flow cytometry for patients with OTB and osteoarticular bacterial infection (OBI) and HCs verified that the frequency of macrophage-RGS1high subset decreased in OTB tissues and blood samples, thereby distinguishing patients with OTB from HCs and patients with OBI. CONCLUSION: The macrophage-RGS1high subset levels were decreased in patients with OTB, and would be up-regulated after effective treatment. Therefore, the clinical significance of this study is to discover that macrophage-RGS1high subset may serve as a potential biomarker for OTB diagnosis and treatment efficacy monitoring.

In this paper, a novel Multi-loop Moving Coil Linear Compressor (M-MC-LC) is studied, in which the piston is driven by the Co-core Bilateral Reverse Coil (CBRC) in a reciprocating motion within the magnetic array. The DC excitation technique is introduced to address the phenomenon that the piston is axially offset under the influence of gas force. In order to clarify the effect of DC excitation on the performance of the moving-coil linear compressor, the compressor prototype is developed, and the dynamic performance testing test-bed and the refrigeration performance test-bed are built to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze the relevant performance parameters of the compressor from theoretical and experimental aspects. The results show that when the DC excitation accounts for less than 20% of the total input voltage, the pressure ratio increases with the increase of DC excitation; when the percentage is at 22.9%, a sudden drop in the volumetric efficiency of compressor occurs. Mass flow and COP increases first and then decreases with the increase of DC voltage excitation. The study results provide a guideline for the stable and reliable operation of the system and provide a valuable reference for the linear compressor piston offset adjustment.

Background: Angiogenesis plays a pivotal role in colorectal cancer (CRC), yet its underlying mechanisms demand further exploration. This study aimed to elucidate the significance of angiogenesis-related genes (ARGs) in CRC through comprehensive multi-omics analysis. Methods: CRC patients were categorized according to ARGs expression to form angiogenesis-related clusters (ARCs). We investigated the correlation between ARCs and patient survival, clinical features, consensus molecular subtypes (CMS), cancer stem cell (CSC) index, tumor microenvironment (TME), gene mutations, and response to immunotherapy. Utilizing three machine learning algorithms (LASSO, Xgboost, and Decision Tree), we screen key ARGs associated with ARCs, further validated in independent cohorts. A prognostic signature based on key ARGs was developed and analyzed at the scRNA-seq level. Validation of gene expression in external cohorts, clinical tissues, and blood samples was conducted via RT-PCR assay. Results: Two distinct ARC subtypes were identified and were significantly associated with patient survival, clinical features, CMS, CSC index, and TME, but not with gene mutations. Four genes (S100A4, COL3A1, TIMP1, and APP) were identified as key ARCs, capable of distinguishing ARC subtypes. The prognostic signature based on these genes effectively stratified patients into high- or low-risk categories. scRNA-seq analysis showed that these genes were predominantly expressed in immune cells rather than in cancer cells. Validation in two external cohorts and through clinical samples confirmed significant expression differences between CRC and controls. Conclusion: This study identified two ARG subtypes in CRC and highlighted four key genes associated with these subtypes, offering new insights into personalized CRC treatment strategies.

BACKGROUND: Cystic Fibrosis causing mutations in the gene CFTR, reduce the activity of the CFTR channel protein, and leads to mucus aggregation, airway obstruction and poor lung function. A role for CFTR in the pathogenesis of other muco-obstructive airway diseases such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) has been well established. The CFTR modulatory compound, Ivacaftor (VX-770), potentiates channel activity of CFTR and certain CF-causing mutations and has been shown to ameliorate mucus obstruction and improve lung function in people harbouring these CF-causing mutations. A pilot trial of Ivacaftor supported its potential efficacy for the treatment of mucus obstruction in COPD. These findings prompted the search for CFTR potentiators that are more effective in ameliorating cigarette-smoke (CS) induced mucostasis. METHODS: Small molecule potentiators, previously identified in CFTR binding studies, were tested for activity in augmenting CFTR channel activity using patch clamp electrophysiology in HEK-293 cells, a fluorescence-based assay of membrane potential in Calu-3 cells and in Ussing chamber studies of primary bronchial epithelial cultures. Addition of cigarette smoke extract (CSE) to the solutions bathing the apical surface of Calu-3 cells and primary bronchial airway cultures was used to model COPD. Confocal studies of the velocity of fluorescent microsphere movement on the apical surface of CSE exposed airway epithelial cultures, were used to assess the effect of potentiators on CFTR-mediated mucociliary movement. RESULTS: We showed that SK-POT1, like VX-770, was effective in augmenting the cyclic AMP-dependent channel activity of CFTR. SK-POT-1 enhanced CFTR channel activity in airway epithelial cells previously exposed to CSE and ameliorated mucostasis on the surface of primary airway cultures. CONCLUSION: Together, this evidence supports the further development of SK-POT1 as an intervention in the treatment of COPD.

Rationale: The role of MUC5B mucin expression in IPF pathogenesis is unknown. Bleomycin-exposed rodent models do not exhibit sustained fibrosis or airway remodeling. Unlike mice, ferrets have human-like distribution of MUC5B expressing cell types and natively express the risk-conferring variant that induces high MUC5B expression in humans. We hypothesized that ferrets would consequently exhibit aberrant repair to propagate fibrosis similar to human IPF. Methods: Bleomycin (5U/kg) or saline-control was micro-sprayed intratracheally then wild-type ferrets were evaluated through 22 wks. Clinical phenotype was assessed with lung function. Fibrosis was assessed with µCT imaging and comparative histology with Ashcroft scoring. Airway remodeling was assessed with histology and quantitative immunofluorescence. Results: Bleomycin ferrets exhibited sustained restrictive physiology including decreased inspiratory capacity, decreased compliance, and shifted Pressure-Volume loops through 22 wks. Volumetric µCT analysis revealed increased opacification of the lung bleomycin-ferrets. Histology showed extensive fibrotic injury that matured over time and MUC5B-positive cystic structures in the distal lung suggestive of honeycombing. Bleomycin ferrets had increased proportion of small airways that were double-positive for CCSP and alpha-tubulin compared to controls, indicating an aberrant 'proximalization' repair phenotype. Notably, this aberrant repair was associated with extent of fibrotic injury at the airway level. Conclusions: Bleomycin-exposed ferrets exhibit sustained fibrosis through 22 wks and have pathologic features of IPF not found in rodents. Ferrets exhibited proximalization of the distal airways and other pathologic features characteristic of human IPF. MUC5B expression through native cell types may play a key role in promoting airway remodeling and lung injury in IPF.

Previous studies have shown that boletes are abundant and diverse in China, especially in tropical and subtropical regions. In the present study, morphological, ecological, host relationship, and a four-locus (28S, tef1, rpb1, and rpb2) molecular phylogenetic analyses were used to study the family Boletaceae in subtropical and tropical China. Four new bluing species are described from three genera, viz. Boletellus verruculosus (Chinese name), Xerocomellus tenuis (Chinese name), Xer. brunneus (Chinese name), and Xerocomus zhangii (Chinese name). Moreover, the genus Nigroboletus is treated as a synonym of Xerocomellus, and a new combination, namely Xer. roseonigrescens (Chinese name), is proposed.

Posterior Capsule Opacification (PCO), the most frequent complication of cataract surgery, is caused by the infiltration and proliferation of lens epithelial cells (LECs) at the interface between the intraocular lens (IOL) and posterior lens capsule (PLC). According to the "no space, no cells, no PCO" theory, high affinity (or adhesion force) between the IOL and PLC would decrease the IOL: PLC interface space, hinder LEC migration, and thus reduce PCO formation. To test this hypothesis, an in vitro hemisphere-shaped simulated PLC (sPLC) was made to mimic the human IOL: PLC physical interactions and to assess their influence on LEC responses. Three commercially available IOLs with different affinities/adhesion forces toward the sPLC, including Acrylic foldable IOL, Silicone IOL, and PMMA IOL, were used in this investigation. Using the system, the physical interactions between IOLs and sPLC were quantified by measuring the adhesion force and interface space using an adhesion force apparatus and Optical Coherence Tomography, respectively. Our data shows that high adhesion force and tight binding between IOL and sPLC contribute to a small interface space (or "no space"). By introducing LECs into the in vitro system, we found that, with small interface space, among all IOLs, acrylic foldable IOLs permitted the least extent of LEC infiltration, proliferation, and differentiation (or "no cells"). Further statistical analyses using clinical data revealed that weak LEC responses are associated with low clinical PCO incidence rates (or "no PCO"). The findings support that the in vitro system could simulate IOL: PLC interplays and predict IOLs' PCO potential in support of the "no space, no cells, no PCO" hypothesis.

A major unmet need in the cystic fibrosis (CF) therapeutic landscape is the lack of effective treatments for nonsense CFTR mutations, which affect approximately 10% of CF patients. Correction of nonsense CFTR mutations via genomic editing represents a promising therapeutic approach. In this study, we tested whether prime editing, a novel CRISPR-based genomic editing method, can be a potential therapeutic modality to correct nonsense CFTR mutations. We generated iPSCs from a CF patient homozygous for the CFTR W1282X mutation. We demonstrated that prime editing corrected one mutant allele in iPSCs, which effectively restored CFTR function in iPSC-derived airway epithelial cells and organoids. We further demonstrated that prime editing may directly repair mutations in iPSC-derived airway epithelial cells when the prime editing machinery is efficiently delivered by helper-dependent adenovirus (HDAd). Together, our data demonstrated that prime editing may potentially be applied to correct CFTR mutations such as W1282X.

BACKGROUND: The Przewalski's horse (Equus ferus przewalskii) is the only surviving wild horse species in the world. A significant population of Przewalski's horses resides in Xinjiang, China. Parasitosis poses a considerable threat to the conservation of this endangered species. Yet, there is limited information on the nematode parasites that infect these species. To deepen our understanding of parasitic fauna affecting wild horses, we identified the intestinal nematodes of Przewalski's horses in Xinjiang and added new barcode sequences to a public database. METHODS: Between 2018 and 2021, nematodes were collected from 104 dewormed Przewalski's horses in Xinjiang. Each nematode was morphologically identified to the species level, and selected species underwent DNA extraction. The extracted DNA was used for molecular identification through the internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) genetic marker. RESULTS: A total of 3758 strongylids were identified. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to identify four specific parasitic nematodes (Oesophagodontus robustus, Bidentostomum ivashkini, Skrjabinodentus caragandicus, Petrovinema skrjabini) and to obtain the ITS2 genetic marker for P. skrjabini. CONCLUSIONS: The ITS2 genetic marker for P. skrjabini enriches our understanding of the genetic characteristics of this species and expands the body of knowledge on parasitic nematodes. Our findings extend the known host range of four strongylid species, thereby improving our understanding of the relationship between Przewalski's horses and strongylids. This, in turn, aids in the enhanced conservation of this endangered species. This study introduces new instances of parasitic infections in wild animals and offers the DNA sequence of P. skrjabini as a valuable resource for molecular techniques in nematode diagnosis among wildlife.

As an important component, the properties of separators directly affect the capacity, life, and safety performance of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). The high thermal stability and safety application value of the thermoplastic elastomer poly(styrene-b-isoprene-b-styrene) block copolymer (SIS) with different block ratios were explored to enhance the thermal stability and mechanical strength of the cross-linked polyacrylonitrile (PAN) membranes by vulcanization cross-linking and heat treatment. Among these membranes, the sample named the S/PAN/SIS-4019 separator was confirmed to be a self-closing separator that can cope with the thermal runaway, attributing to the continued fusion of the SIS soft and hard segments in the cross-linked structure under high-temperature heat treatment. Moreover, the tensile strength of S/PAN/SIS-4019 separator increased to 17.49 MPa, which was better than that of Celgard 2400, PAN, and other inlay separators. Using S/PAN/SIS-4019 as a battery separator, lithium-ion batteries showed a superior electrochemical performance compared to the usage of Celgard 2400. Owing to the stable pore structure and thermally protected self-shutdown mechanism, the overall properties of the obtained cross-linked separator were improved in terms of higher thermal stability, high ionic conductivity, and electrochemical properties.

Numerous chemical compounds used in cancer treatment have been isolated from natural herbs to address the ever-increasing cancer incidence worldwide. Therein is icariin, which has been extensively studied for its therapeutic potential due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antidepressant, and aphrodisiac properties. However, there is a lack of comprehensive and detailed review of studies on icariin in cancer treatment. Given this, this study reviews and examines the relevant literature on the chemopreventive and therapeutic potentials of icariin in cancer treatment and describes its mechanism of action. The review shows that icariin has the property of inhibiting cancer progression and reversing drug resistance. Therefore, icariin may be a valuable potential agent for the prevention and treatment of various cancers due to its natural origin, safety, and low cost compared to conventional anticancer drugs, while further research on this natural agent is needed.

In southwestern China, wild boletes are generally considered as safe and tasty edible mushrooms. However, in fact, significant adverse effects after ingestion of boletes is commonly reported in this region. In June 2022, four cases occurred in central and southwestern of China. In these case series, five adults and one child ingested wild boletoi mushrooms known locally as "Yanyoujun" (). This study carried out a detailed epidemiological investigation and mushroom identification. Based on morphological and phylogenetic analysis, the suspected mushrooms were identified as Anthracoporus nigropurpureus (Boletaceae). All five adult victims reported dizziness and blurred vision. Some of them also reported different symptoms, such as muscle weakness, red eyes, headache, muscle cramps, even tremors in the extremities. Reportedly, the symptoms began to subside about 4 to 8 h after ingestion. Among six victims, the child was asymptomatic possibly because a small amount of mushroom was ingested. This possible poisoning appears to be a self-limited illness with a short latency and a relatively short duration. Unfortunately, laboratory investigations of the victims were not performed. Further observations and formal medical examination of victims are required in the future. It is the first detailed report of possible poisoning the genus Anthracoporus.

BACKGROUND: The healing capacity of the human glenoid labrum varies by tear location. Current evidence suggests that the healing capacity of meniscal and cartilage injuries relates to cellular composition and vascularity. However, little is known about the histological characteristics of the glenoid labrum and how they may affect healing potential in specific anatomic regions. HYPOTHESIS: Regenerative characteristics of the glenoid labrum differ based on the anatomic region. STUDY DESIGN: Descriptive laboratory study. METHODS: Human glenoid labra from fresh unpreserved cadavers were transversely sectioned in different anatomic regions. Masson trichrome stain was used to determine dense and loose extracellular matrix regions and vessel densities. Hematoxylin and eosin, Ki-67+, and CD90+/CD105+ stains were performed to determine total, proliferative, and progenitor cell densities, respectively. Regression models demonstrated relationships between vascular area, progenitor cell quantity, and probability of successful operation. RESULTS: Among all labral aspects, the superior glenoid labrum had the highest percentage (56.8% ± 6.9%) of dense extracellular matrix or avascular tissue (P < .1). The vascular region of the superior labrum had the fewest total cells (321 ± 135 cells/mm2; P < .01) and progenitor cells (20 ± 4 cells/mm2; P < .001). Vascular area was directly correlated with progenitor cell quantity (P = .006002). An increase in probability of successful operation was associated with a linear increase in vascular area (R2 = 0.765) and an exponential increase in progenitor cell quantity (R2 = 0.795). Subsequently, quadratic models of vascularity and progenitor cell quantity around the labral clock were used to assess relative healing potential. Quadratic models for percentage vascular area (P = 6.35e-07) and weighted progenitor cell density (P = 3.03e-05) around the labral clock showed that percentage vascular area and progenitor cell quantity increased as labral tissue neared the inferior aspect and diminished near the superior aspect. CONCLUSION: Anatomic regions of the glenoid labrum differ in extracellular matrix composition, vascularity, and cell composition. The superior glenoid labrum is deficient in vascularity and progenitor cells, which may explain the high failure rates for repairs in this location. CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Improved understanding of the composition of distinct glenoid labral positions may help to improve therapeutic strategies for labral pathology.

A crop rotation system combining agricultural production with phytoremediation is an economical and sustainable method of remediation of cadmium (Cd)-contaminated farmland. This study focuses on migration and transformation of Cd in rotation systems and the influencing factors. In a two-year field experiment, four rotation systems were evaluated: traditional rice and oilseed rape (TRO), low-Cd rice and oilseed rape (LRO), maize and oilseed rape (MO), and soybean and oilseed rape (SO). Oilseed rape is a remediation plant in rotation systems. Compared to 2020, the grain Cd concentrations of traditional rice, low-Cd rice, and maize in 2021 decreased by 73.8%, 65.7%, and 24.0% (below the safety limits), respectively. However, soybean increased by 71.4%. The LRO system featured the highest oil content of rapeseed (about 50%) and economic output/input ratio (1.34). Removal efficiency of total Cd in soil was 10.03% (TRO) > 8.3% (LRO) > 5.32% (SO) > 3.21% (MO). Crop uptake of Cd was influenced by bioavailability of soil Cd, and soil environmental factors regulated the bioavailable Cd. Redundancy analysis (RDA) indicated that soil nitrate­nitrogen (NO3--N) had a dominant impact on bioavailable Cd in soil, with variance contributions of 56.7% for paddy-upland (TRO and LRO) and 53.5% for dryland (MO and SO) rotation systems. The difference reflected that ammonium N (NH4+-N) was a secondary factor in paddy-upland rotations, while it was the available phosphorus (P) in dryland rotations, with variance contributions of 10.4% and 24.3%, respectively. The comprehensive evaluation of crop safety, production, economic benefits, and remediation efficiency revealed that the LRO system was efficient and more acceptable to local farmers, providing a new direction for the utilization and remediation of Cd-contaminated farmland.

Ten percent of cystic fibrosis (CF) patients carry a premature termination codon (PTC); no mutation-specific therapies exist for these individuals. ELX-02, a synthetic aminoglycoside, suppresses translation termination at PTCs (i.e., readthrough) by promoting the insertion of an amino acid at the PTC and restoring expression of full-length CFTR protein. The identity of amino acids inserted at PTCs affects the processing and function of the resulting full-length CFTR protein. We examined readthrough of the rare G550X-CFTR nonsense mutation due to its unique properties. We found that forskolin-induced swelling in G550X patient-derived intestinal organoids (PDOs) was significantly higher than in G542X PDOs (both UGA PTCs) with ELX-02 treatment, indicating greater CFTR function from the G550X allele. Using mass spectrometry, we identified tryptophan as the sole amino acid inserted in the G550X position during ELX-02- or G418-mediated readthrough, which differs from the three amino acids (cysteine, arginine, and tryptophan) inserted in the G542X position after treatment with G418. Compared with wild-type CFTR, Fischer rat thyroid (FRT) cells expressing the G550W-CFTR variant protein exhibited significantly increased forskolin-activated Cl- conductance, and G550W-CFTR channels showed increased PKA sensitivity and open probability. After treatment with ELX-02 and CFTR correctors, CFTR function rescued from the G550X allele in FRTs reached 20-40% of the wild-type level. These results suggest that readthrough of G550X produces greater CFTR function because of gain-of-function properties of the CFTR readthrough product that stem from its location in the signature LSGGQ motif found in ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. G550X may be a particularly sensitive target for translational readthrough therapy.NEW & NOTEWORTHY We found that forskolin-induced swelling in G550X-CFTR patient-derived intestinal organoids (PDOs) was significantly higher than in G542X-CFTR PDOs after treatment with ELX-02. Saline-alkali stress is a universal abiotic stress factor limiting fruit tree cultivation worldwide. Apple (Malus×domestica Borkh.) is one of the fruits with the largest yields worldwide. Tea crabapple (Malus hupehensis Rehd. var. pingyiensis Jiang) is a type of common apple rootstock in China. Because facultative apomixis occurs in this species, it is often used in molecular research. The present study investigated the molecular mechanism of the response of indoleacetic acid (IAA) and cytokinins [zeatin, trans-zeatin riboside (tZR), isopentenyladenine (iP), and isopentenyladenosine (iPA)] to mixed saline-alkali stress (MSAS) in tea crabapple leaves. The endogenous hormone content of tea crabapple leaves under MSAS was measured, and the expression of stress response-related genes was analyzed by RNA sequencing. The results showed that the concentration of IAA was initially higher and then lower than that in the control, whereas the concentration of zeatin, tZR, iP, and iPA was higher than that in the control. A total of 1262 differentially expressed genes were identified in the three comparison groups. Further analyses suggested that IAA and cytokinin biosynthetic genes were mostly upregulated in tea crabapple leaves, indicating that auxin and cytokinin signaling pathway regulation occurred in response to MSAS. These findings suggest that IAA and cytokinins play an important role in the response of tea crabapple to MSAS. The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, caused by SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, is devastatingly impacting human health. A prominent component of COVID-19 is the infection and destruction of the ciliated respiratory cells, which perpetuates dissemination and disrupts protective mucociliary transport (MCT) function, an innate defense of the respiratory tract. Thus, drugs that augment MCT could improve barrier function of the airway epithelium, reduce viral replication and, ultimately, COVID-19 outcomes. We tested five agents known to increase MCT through distinct mechanisms for activity against SARS-CoV-2 infection using a model of human respiratory epithelial cells terminally differentiated in an air/liquid interphase. Three of the five mucoactive compounds tested showed significant inhibitory activity against SARS-CoV-2 replication. An archetype mucoactive agent, ARINA-1, blocked viral replication and therefore epithelial cell injury, thus, it was further studied using biochemical, genetic and biophysical methods to ascertain mechanism of action via improvement of MCT. ARINA-1 antiviral activity was dependent on enhancing the MCT cellular response, since terminal differentiation, intact ciliary expression and motion was required for ARINA-1-mediated anti-SARS-CoV2 protection. Ultimately, we showed that improvement of cilia movement was caused by ARINA-1-mediated regulation of the redox state of the intracellular environment, which benefited MCT. Our study indicates that Intact MCT reduces SARS-CoV-2 infection, and its pharmacologic activation may be effective as an anti-COVID-19 treatment.
