RESUMEN

In experiments on 22 white 1.5-month-old rats-males there were studied influence of Hypericum perforatum L. and minerales from Dyovit® on periodont's tissues under periodontits modelling. Examined preparation normalizes level of glicosaminoglicanes in gum, but did not completely show protective effects relative to collagen's fraction. In periodont's bone preparation decreases resorbrtion; increases activity of AlP and in the same time normalizes activity of AcP.

RESUMEN

The authors analyze the role of the factors promoting a disruption of the physiologic antioxidant system, such as nervous stress, hypodynamia, bioantioxidant insufficiency, and inadequate pro-oxidant supply, to the development of peroxidation mechanisms of periodontitis initiation. The suggested concept implies that the general etiologic factors responsible for disruption of the physiologic system of lipid peroxidation inhibition create a background low-level antioxidant protection of the periodontal tissues. Under such conditions the local factors (dental deposit, plaques, microorganisms) conducive to neutrophil migration to the gingiva and gingival fluid lead to a break out of lipid peroxidation in soft tissues of the periodontium; this break out is induced by free radicals (O2- et al.) that are produced in "respiration explosion" of phagocytizing leukocytes. Regular outbursts of lipid peroxidation represent the trigger mechanism in the development of morphofunctional changes in the periodontium and its vessels, resulting in collagen destruction and bone tissue resorption. The authors emphasize the usefulness of antioxidants in drug prophylaxis of periodontitis.

RESUMEN

Optimal conditions are determined for isolation and purification of peroxidase (EC 1.11.1.7) from the mixed human saliva by gel-filtration and ion chromatography. Such properties as pH and temperature optima, molecular weight, Km, amino acid composition, the effect of activators and inhibitors (purified saliva peroxidases and commercial preparation of horse-radish peroxidase "Reanal", Hungary) are studied with the use of different substrates. The data obtained are necessary to optimize production processes of isolation, storage and methods of the experimental and clinical application of peroxidases of different origin.

RESUMEN

The effect of the commercial preparations, egg white lysozyme and horse-radish peroxidase, as well as that of purified enzymes isolated from human saliva on lymphocyte biosynthesis of nucleic acids and protein was studied. Mitogenic activity of lymphocytes was found to be stimulated by crude preparations of egg white lysozyme and peroxidases of plant and animal origin. Lysozymes of the saliva and egg white purified by ion exchange chromatography and gel filtration had no such properties. As a result of egg white gel filtration, a new mitogen of the non-protein nature with a molecular weight several times higher than that of lysozyme was obtained.
