RESUMEN

It was established in experiments on nonbred albino rats that injection of limontar (1 mg/kg) in the fetal period of pregnancy in alcoholic intoxication (6 g/kg) leads to weight loss by the female, normalization of the character of behavior and metabolic shifts in the organism, and removal of the symptoms of excitation of the sympathetic link of cardiovascular system regulation. No harmful effect of limontar on the mother-fetus biosystem was detected.

RESUMEN

Natural metabolite glycine administered per os to rats in the fetus period of pregnancy in a dose of 1 mg/kg was found to exert a corrective action with respect to the toxic effect of ethanol in the mother-fetus system. Glycine prevents loss in the body weight, normalizes functional state of the nervous system and metabolic disorders in the maternal organism, improve the redox processes in the lymphocytes changed under alcoholization, and protect the fetus both on the metabolic and microstructural levels.

RESUMEN

Studies of heart rhythm parameters, carried out in 88 healthy newborns and in 117 risk-group babies over the course of the early neonatal period (starting from the second minute and up to the seventh day of life) helped derive the normal values of heart rhythm and determine the time characteristics of regulation mechanism establishment in the early postnatal ontogenesis: from sympathetic tonus and centralization of heart rhythm control in the first hours of life to augmenting parasympathetic tonus and autoregulation. Prenatal risk factors were found conducive to deceleration of the newborn's adaptive reactions even when no clinical symptoms of neonatal abnormalities are detectable. The feeding (sucking) process in health is associated with elevation of cholinergic activity of the autonomic nervous system; this phenomenon underlies the method for assessment of the newborn's adaptation (feeding test). The metabolic parameters are less informative in assessment of postnatal adaptation efficacy as against heart rhythm parameters.

RESUMEN

It was revealed that there was an increase (by an average of 58%) of the RNA concentration in the blood erythrocytes of women during ovulation. Measurement of the RNA content in erythrocytes can serve as an ovulation test.
