RESUMEN

Integration of on-demand quantum emitters into photonic integrated circuits (PICs) has drawn much attention in recent years, as it promises a scalable implementation of quantum information schemes. A central property for several applications is the indistinguishability of the emitted photons. In this regard, GaAs quantum dots (QDs) obtained by droplet etching epitaxy show excellent performances, making the realization of these QDs into PICs highly appealing. Here, we show the first implementation in this direction, realizing the key passive elements needed in PICs, i.e., single-mode waveguides (WGs) with integrated GaAs-QDs and beamsplitters. We study the statistical distribution of wavelength, linewidth, and decay time of the excitonic line, as well as the quantum optical properties of individual emitters under resonant excitation. We achieve single-photon purities as high as 1 - g(2)(0) = 0.929 ± 0.009 and two-photon interference visibilities of up to VTPI = 0.953 ± 0.032 for consecutively emitted photons.

RESUMEN

A single paragraph of about 200 words maximum. For research articles, abstracts should give a pertinent overview of the work. We strongly encourage authors to use the following style of structured abstracts, but without headings: (1) Background: Place the question addressed in a broad context and highlight the purpose of the study; (2) Methods: briefly describe the main methods or treatments applied; (3) Results: summarize the article's main findings; (4) Conclusions: indicate the main conclusions or interpretations. The abstract should be an objective representation of the article and it must not contain results that are not presented and substantiated in the main text and should not exaggerate the main conclusions.

RESUMEN

To enhance the drug delivery therapy efficacy and reduce the adverse effects on patients, we propose a molecular communication (MC) inspired optimization strategy to maintain the locoregional concentration of drug within a therapeutic window, the safe drug concentration range for individualized therapy. Observing the parallels between the propagation of information molecules and the delivery of drugs, MC, as a new paradigm, has drawn devised to overcome the challenges of the drug delivery system. The drug delivery is mapping to the transmission process of information molecules from the transmitter to the receiver. In addition, the locoregional concentration-time profile of the administered drug particles corresponds to the signalling waveform. Different from conventional drug delivery strategy, this work focuses on locoregional concentration instead of plasma concentration. Furthermore, with sustained-release preparations schemes, we also propose an algorithm to obtain the optimal administration time. The simulation results demonstrate that this strategy effectively maintains the relative steady-state drug concentration.

RESUMEN

Advanced ceramic sponge materials with temperature-invariant high compressibility are urgently needed as thermal insulators, energy absorbers, catalyst carriers, and high temperature air filters. However, the application of ceramic sponge materials is severely limited due to their complex preparation process. Here, we present a facile method for large-scale fabrication of highly compressible, temperature resistant SiO2-Al2O3 composite ceramic sponges by blow spinning and subsequent calcination. We successfully produce anisotropic lamellar ceramic sponges with numerous stacked microfiber layers and density as low as 10 mg cm-3. The anisotropic lamellar ceramic sponges exhibit high compression fatigue resistance, strain-independent zero Poisson's ratio, robust fire resistance, temperature-invariant compression resilience from -196 to 1000 °C, and excellent thermal insulation with a thermal conductivity as low as 0.034 W m-1 K-1. In addition, the lamellar structure also endows the ceramic sponges with excellent sound absorption properties, representing a promising alternative to existing thermal insulation and acoustic absorption materials.

RESUMEN

A modulation approach with 4-hydroxybenzhydrazide as the modulating agent was designed for constructing 2,4,6-triphenoxy-1,3,5-benzene-based covalent organic frameworks (COFs). The COFs materials were employed as solid phase microextraction (SPME) coatings for the extraction of phthalate esters (PAEs). Various experimental conditions including extraction temperature, extraction time, salt concentration, and desorption time were investigated and optimized. The introduction of modulating agent into the synthesis of fibers significantly enhanced the extraction efficiency towards PAEs. The linear range was 1-100 µg L‒1 and the detection limits in the range of 0.032-0.451 µg L‒1 were achieved with good linearity ranged from 0.9904 to 0.9970. Inter-batch and intra-batch relative standard deviations were in the ranges of 0.83-4.67% and 3.08-9.73%, respectively. Moreover, the developed coating fibers were used for the extraction of PAEs in water samples and satisfactory recoveries were achieved.

RESUMEN

In this work, poly(glycidyl methacrylate-ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate) monolith functionalized with copper tetra(N-carbonylacrylic) aminephthalocyanine and iminodiacetic acid was successfully synthesized. Owing to hydrogen bonding and hydrophilic interactions, the monolith exhibited good performance for glycopeptide enrichment. When the tryptic digests of horseradish peroxidase were enriched by the developed monolith, a total of 20 glycopeptides could be captured and identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry analysis with a detection limit as low as 0.5 fmol µL-1. With the mixture of bovine serum albumin and horseradish peroxidase digests (200:1, m/m) as the sample, 14 glycopeptides were identified after enrichment, showing the high selectivity of the monolith. Moreover, the functionalized monolith exhibited good stability and reproducibility. It was successfully applied to enrich glycopeptides from human serum, demonstrating its potential applications in selective and efficient capture of glycopeptides in complex biological samples. RESUMEN

ThFeAsN1-x O x ([Formula: see text]) system with heavy electron doping has been studied by the measurements of x-ray diffraction, electrical resistivity, magnetic susceptibility and specific heat. The non-doped compound exhibits superconductivity at [Formula: see text] K, which is possibly due to an internal uniaxial chemical pressure that is manifested by the extremely small value of As height with respect to the Fe plane. With the oxygen substitution, the T c value decreases rapidly to below 2 K for [Formula: see text], and surprisingly, superconductivity re-appears in the range of [Formula: see text] with a maximum [Formula: see text] of 17.5 K at x = 0.3. For the normal-state resistivity, while the samples in intermediate non-superconducting interval exhibit Fermi liquid behavior, those in other regions show a non-Fermi-liquid behavior. The specific heat jump for the superconducting sample of x = 0.4 is [Formula: see text], which is discussed in terms of anisotropic superconducting gap. The peculiar phase diagram in ThFeAsN1-x O x presents additional ingredients for understanding the superconducting mechanism in iron-based superconductors.
