RESUMEN

Objective: To analyze the effect of chlorpyrifos on the expression of autophagy related proteins in rat hippocampal neurons, and to explore the role of autophagy in central nerve injury caused by acute chlorpyrifos poisoning. Methods: In October 2018, 35 male clean grade SD rats were randomly divided into 7 groups according to the observation time point, namely 0.5 d, 1 d, 2 d, 3 d, 5 d and 7 d groups and the control group, with 5 rats in each group. Each observation group was given 81.5 mg/kg chlorpyrifos by gavage, and the control group was given olive oil by gavage. The general conditions and poisoning symptoms of rats were observed continuously after exposure. The expressions of autophagy related proteins Beclin1, P62/SQSTM1 and LC3 in hippocampus were detected by Western blot. The cell morphology and LC3 expression in brain were observed by immunohistochemical staining. Results: Western blot results showed that compared with the control group, the expression of Beclin1 protein in hippocampal neurons of rats in the 1 d, 2 d, and 3 d groups increased, while the expression of P62/SQSTM1 protein in the 0.5 d, 1 d, and 2 d groups decreased, and the expression of LC3 protein was decreased in the 2 d group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05) . The results of immunohistochemistry showed that the hippocampal neurons of rats in the 5 d group were arranged disorderly, and some nuclei contours disappeared, especially in the 7 d group. The LC3 protein was expressed in the cytoplasm, and the expression level gradually increased, reaching a peak on the second day. Conclusion: The early activation of autophagy in rats with acute chlorpyrifos poisoning may be involved in chlorpyrifos induced hippocampal neuronal injury.

RESUMEN

In recent years, the clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have been constantly updated. Among the general principles, it is particularly emphasized that, in order to improve the ratio of treat to target(T2T) of RA, doctors and patients should work together to negotiate the details of the guidelines. Therefore, it is important for patients to further understand the disease and clinical guidelines of RA, and to better cooperate with doctors. This study was based on the most concerned issues of RA patients and international standard procedure of guideline study, we organized the working group and introduce the following 16 recommendations constituting the RA patients' practice guidelines.

RESUMEN

Objective: To investigate the expression of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) in the lung tissue of rats with acute diquat (DQ) poisoning and the distribution of diquat in lungs. Methods: Fifty-four fasted male Wistar rats were randomized into control group (n=6) and exposure group (n=48) . According to the time point, the exposure group was divided into 2 h, 4 h, 12 h, 1 d, 3 d, 7 d, 11 d and 14 d groups with 6 rats in each group. Exposure groups were administered 11.55 mg/kg DQ (1 ml/100 g BW) by single-dose of intragastric administration, while the control group rats were given normal saline. The histopathological changes of lung tissue of rats in each group were observed. The expression of nrf2 in lung tissue was detected by immunohistochemistry, and the diquat concentration in lungs was determined by high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) . Results: In the exposure group, DQ was detected in lungs on 2 hours after poisoning. The concentration of DQ in lung tissue decreased gradually over time, and there was no accumulation in lung tissue. The histopathological changes of lung tissue were not obvious in the early stage of poisoning. The injury was the most serious on the 3rd day, a large number of inflammatory cells could be seen in alveolar cavity and lung stroma, and the pathological injury of lung tissue began to be alleviated on the 7th day. The results of immunohistochemistry showed that Nrf2 was mainly expressed in the nucleus of pulmonery cells. The expression of Nrf2 in the exposure group was significantly higher than the control group. The expression of Nrf2 increased significantly at the 12th hour (P<0.05) , reached the peak on the 3rd day (P<0.05) . There was no difference between the control group and the 14th day (P>0.05) . Conclusion: There was no accumulation of DQ in the lung tissue for a long time, and there was a hysteresis in lung injury induced by redox reaction of DQ. Nrf2 was highly expressed in the lung tissue of rats with acute DQ poisoning, which was correlated with histopathology injury of lung tissue, suggesting that Nrf2 plays an important role in antagonizing acute lung injury induced by DQ.

RESUMEN

Objective: To investigate the imaging findings of 2019 novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19). Methods: From January 20 to February 5, 2020, a total of 130 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 from seven hospitals in China were collected. The imaging data were reviewed and analyzed in detail. Results: (1) Distribution: the lesion detected in the lung unilaterally in 14 cases (10.7%) and bilaterally in 116 cases (89.3%). According to the distribution in the lobes of the lung, all cases could be classified into subpleural distribution (102 cases, 78.4%), centrilobular distribution (99 cases, 76.1%) and diffused distribution (8 cases, 6.1%). (2) Number of lesions: single lesion 9 cases (6.9%); multiple lesions 113 cases (86.9%), diffuse lesions 8 cases (6.1%). (3) Imaging density: 70 cases (53.8%) of ground-glass opacity (GGO), 60 cases (46.2%) of GGO+consolidation. (4) Accompanying signs: 100 cases (76.9%) with vascular thickening, 98 cases (75.3%) with "pleural parallel sign" ; " intralobular septal thickening" in 100 cases (76.9%); "halo sign" in 13 cases (10%); "reversed-halo sign" in 6 cases (4.6%); pleural effusion in 3 cases (2.3%), and pneumatocele in 2 cases (1.5%); no case with pulmonary cavity. Among 35 patients that underwent follow-up CT, 21 patients (60%) improved while 14 (40%) exacerbated. Conclusions: COVID-19 imaging characteristic mainly has subpleural, centrilobular and diffused distribution. The first two distributions can overlap or progress to diffused distribution. In the later period, it was mainly manifested as organizing pneumonia and fibrosis. The most valuable characteristic is the pleural parallel sign.

RESUMEN

The aim of this study was to describe the prevalence of and risk factors for prostatitis-like symptoms and its relation to erectile dysfunction (ED) among southern Chinese men. Data were collected from 2790 men attending the Fangchenggang Area Male Healthy and Examination Survey from September 2009 to December 2009. The prostatitis-like symptoms were assessed by the NIH Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index and ED was assessed using the 5-item International Index of Erectile Function. Lifestyle and demographic characteristics were obtained through a questionnaire. Prevalence of prostatitis-like symptoms was 12.4% among 2790 Chinese men aged 20-84 years. In smokers who smoked ≥20 cigarettes per day (age-adjusted OR = 1.29; 95% CI = 1.00-1.66; p = 0.04), physical inactivity (age-adjusted OR = 1.31; 95% CI = 1.03-1.66; p = 0.02) was a significant risk factor for prostatitis-like symptoms. Alcohol consumption (daily drinking) also was a risk factor for prostatitis-like symptoms, although the differences were not statistically significant (age-adjusted OR = 1.36; 95% CI = 0.96-1.92; p = 0.07). Those with diabetes may also be at higher risk for prostatitis-like symptoms (age-adjusted OR = 1.37; 95% CI = 0.85-2.21; p = 0.19). In addition, men with ED were more likely to have had prostatitis-like symptoms (age-adjusted OR = 1.86; 95% CI = 0.47-2.36; p < 0.0001), and the ORs increased with increasing severity of ED status (mild ED, mild to moderate ED, and moderate to severe ED were 1.57, 2.62, and 3.24, respectively. Test for trend, p = 0.0001). Our results show that prostatitis-like symptoms are prevalent in Southern China affecting men of all ages. Smoking, drinking, lack of physical activity, and elevated plasma glucose level were associated with an increased risk of prostatitis-like symptoms. In addition, our results reveal that ED accounted for a large proportion (61.5%) among men with prostatitis-like symptoms; we also confirm the magnitude of ED associated with prostatitis-like symptoms. Thus, interventions to evaluate and improve ED might help ameliorate prostatitis-like symptoms and vice versa.

RESUMEN

Structures of LiSCN, NaSCN, KSCN, RbSCN, and CsSCN complexes with 3',5'-difluoro-4'-hydroxybenzyl-armed monoaza-15-crown-5 ether (5) were investigated. The Li+ and Na+ complexes are (1:1)n polymer-like complexes bridged by hydrogen bonding. On the other hand, the K+, Rb+, and Cs+ complexes are polymer-like complexes bridged by the fluorine atoms of the side arms. The titration calorimetry and 19F NMR titration experiments suggest that one or both fluorine atoms along with the oxygen atom of the phenolic OH group coordinate to the alkali metal ions incorporated in the crown part of a second armed ligand to give polymer-like complexes in solution. The FAB-MS data indicated that larger alkali metal ions form more stable polymer-like complexes.

RESUMEN

A series of macrocyclic tetraazacrown ethers containing two pyridine, quinoline, 8-hydroxyquinoline, or 8-aminoquinoline sidearms has been prepared. Crab-like cyclization of bis(alpha-chloroacetamide)s and diamines followed by reduction of the cyclic diamides was used to synthesize the selected crown ethers containing two unsubstituted macroring nitrogen atoms. The preparation of the macrocycles with sidearms was accomplished by reductive amination of the proper aldehydes with the crown ethers using sodium triacetoxyborohydride (NaBH(OAc)(3)) as the reducing agent. The 8-hydroxyquinoline- and 8-aminoquinoline-containing macrocycles were synthesized by reductive amination of 8-acetoxyquinoline-2-carboxaldehyde or 8-nitroquinoline-2-carboxaldehyde followed by removing the acetate groups or reducing the nitro groups to amino groups, respectively. Complexation of ligand 22 with Cu(2+), Co(2+), Ni(2+), Zn(2+), Cd(2+), and Pb(2+) was evaluated potentiometrically in aqueous solution (0.10 M Me(4)NCl) at 25 degrees C. Ligand 22 formed very stable complexes with these metal ions. The UV-vis spectra of 22 and its complexes were examined in an aqueous acetic acid buffer solution (pH 5). The 22-Cu(2+) complex provided a new absorption band at 258 nm.

RESUMEN

Using adsorption data, we get formulas for the calculation of fractal dimensions: log[A CO2 (DP) /A N2 (BET) ] = -5.3984(2 - D 1 )/2 and log[A CO2 (BET) /A N2 (BET) ] = -4.9569(2 - D 2 )/2. The fractal dimensions (D ) of 27 coals and 2 cokes have been obtained. The D of coals decreased with the increase of fa and reached a maximum at H/C equal to 0.66 (or C daf about 86%). The fractal dimension is relative to ash and volatiles of coal: D = 2.2237 + 0.6249V daf + 0.8863A d . The relationship between D of coal coke and its conversions (X ) obeys the following equation: D = a exp(-bX ) + c .

RESUMEN

Seven soils which had been polluted with heavy metals from a zinc smelter were sequentially extracted so that Cd, Zn, and Pb could be partitioned into five operationally defined geochemical fractions: exchangeable, carbonate, Fe-Mn oxide, organic, and residual fractions. Kidney beans were planted in the soils to examine the effect of concentration and chemical form of the metals in soil on the growth and metal uptake of the plants. The growth of kidney bean was restricted in heavy metal polluted soils compared with controls. Metal concentration and metal uptake by plants were correlated. The highest relationship was found between amount of metal uptake and the metal concentration in exchangeable + carbonate forms. The uptake of metals was according to their solubility sequence, i.e. Cd > Zn > Pb. The uptake rate of exchangeable + carbonate forms was the same for the three elements.
