Background: Patients with low back pain (LBP) often suffer from sleep disorder, and insufficient sleep duration was recognized as a potential risk factor for LBP. Our aim was to explore the exact effect of sleep duration on LBP and the optimal sleep duration to reduce the risk of LBP. Methods: Analyzing data from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES), we investigated the association between sleep duration and LBP in individuals aged 50 years and older. We used logistic regression models, interaction stratification analysis, and threshold effect assessment to analyze the relationship between sleep duration and LBP. Results: A total of 6,285 participants, comprising 3,056 males and 3,229 females with a median age of 63.1 years, were enrolled in the study. The association between sleep duration and LBP risk exhibited an L-shaped curve (p < 0.015) in RCS analysis. In the threshold analysis, the OR of developing risk of LBP was 0.864 (95% CI:0.78-0.957, p = 0.005) in participants with sleep duration <6.55 h. Each additional hour of sleep was associated with a 13.6% decrease in the risk of LBP. No significant association was observed between sleep duration ≥6.55 h and the risk of LBP. The risk of LBP did not decrease further with increasing sleep duration. Results remain robust across subgroups. Conclusion: Our findings indicate that shorter sleep duration is a risk factor for LBP in adults aged over 50 years. We revealed an L-shaped association between sleep duration and LBP, with an inflection point at approximately 6.55 h per day. These results underscore the significance of sleep duration as a factor in the risk assessment for LBP.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes of women with recurrent uterine leiomyosarcoma (uLMS). METHODS: We conducted a retrospective cohort study to evaluate the clinical characteristics and survival of women with recurrent uLMS and identify prognostic factors. RESULTS: Overall, 71 patients with first recurrence of uLMS were included in our study. 19 patients (26.8%) received systemic therapy and 52 patients (73.2%) received secondary cytoreductive surgery (SCS). In SCS subgroup (n = 52), a complete resection with no residual disease was performed in 47 patients (90.4%). 38.5% (20/52) patients received non-reproductive organ surgeries. 10 (19.2%) patients had received thoracic surgery because of lung-only recurrence. Bowel, bladder surgery was performed in 8 (15.4%), 3 (5.8%) patients, respectively. 1 (1.9%) patient had received liver surgery. The median follow-up duration was 38.7 months (range: 2.7-317.6 months). 41 (57.7%) patients died during follow-up. 5-year OS for the entire cohort was 52.9%. Patients experienced first recurrence after initial diagnoses within 12 months (n = 24) had a worse 5-year OS than those after 12 months (n = 47) (17.0% vs. 69.1%, P < 0.001). 5-year OS for the SCS and non-SCS subgroup was 62.0% and 28.0%, respectively (P < 0.001). Multivariate analysis showed time to fist recurrence within 12 months (HR = 4.60, 95% CI: 1.49-14.4, P = 0.008) was an independent predictor of decreased 5-year OS in SCS subgroup. CONCLUSIONS: SCS is an important treatment choice for recurrent uLMS and seems to have benefited patients. Time to fist recurrence within 12 months is an independent predictor of decreased 5-year OS in SCS subgroup.

A new type of phenanthroline carboxamide(DAPhen)-phosphate ester ligand (L1/L2) was synthesized for the selective separation of U(VI) over Th(IV). Liquid-liquid extraction experiments showed that the introduction of phosphate ester could increase the extraction ability of ligands for U(VI), especially L2, which showed high selectivity for the separation of U(VI) over Th(IV). The slope analysis indicated that L1 could form 1:1 and 1:2 complexes with U(VI) and 1:1 complexes with Th(IV). NMR titration revealed that the DAPhen unit of ligands combined with one U(VI) to form 1:1 complexes, and then the phosphate ester unit of the 1:1 complexes further combined with another U(VI) to form 1:2 complexes. Ligands provide only the DAPhen unit to Th(IV) to form 1:1 complexes. The crystal structures found 1:2 complexes of L1 and U(VI), 1:1 complexes of L2 and U(VI), and 1:1 complexes of L1 and Th(IV). The larger stability constant (log ß) of the 1:1 complexes of L2 with U(VI) than that of the 1:1 complexes of L1 with U(VI) showed that the binding ability of U(VI) with the DAPhen unit of L2 is stronger than that of U(VI) with the DAPhen unit of L1. This study provides new ideas for designing extractants with excellent properties.

Male obesity is a pandemic health issue and can disrupt testicular steroidogenesis. Here, we explored the mechanism by which a high-fat diet (HFD) induced steroidogenic inhibition. As expected, HFD induced lipid droplet accumulation and reduced the expression of StAR, P450scc, and 3ß-HSD, three steroidogenic enzymes, in mouse testes. Palmitic acid (PA), a saturated fatty acid usually used to trigger lipotoxicity in vitro, induced greater accumulation of lipid droplets and the downregulation of steroidogenic enzymes in TM3 cells. Mechanistically, both HFD and PA disturbed mitochondrial fusion/fission dynamics and then induced mitochondrial dysfunction and mitophagy inhibition in mouse Leydig cells. Additionally, mitochondrial fusion promoter M1 attenuated PA-induced imbalance of mitochondrial dynamics, mitophagy inhibition, mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and mitochondrial dysfunction in TM3 cells. Mitofusin 2 (Mfn2) knock-down further aggravated the PA-induced imbalance of mitochondrial dynamics, mitochondrial ROS production, and mitochondrial dysfunction in TM3 cells. Importantly, M1 rescued PA-induced downregulation of steroidogenic enzymes, whereas Mfn2 knock-down further aggravated PA-induced downregulation of steroidogenic enzymes in TM3 cells. Overall, our results provide laboratory evidence that mitochondrial dysfunction and mitophagy inhibition caused by dysregulation of mitochondrial fusion may be involved in HFD-induced steroidogenesis inhibition in mouse Leydig cells.

With the increase in the aging population, senile osteoporosis (SOP) has become a major global public health concern. Here, it is found that Prx1 and Bmi-1 co-localized in trabecular bone, bone marrow cavity, endosteum, and periosteum. Prx1-driven Bmi-1 knockout in bone-marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) reduced bone mass and increased bone marrow adiposity by inhibiting osteoblastic bone formation, promoting osteoclastic bone resorption, downregulating the proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs, and upregulating the adipogenic differentiation of BMSCs. However, Prx1-driven Bmi-1 overexpression showed a contrasting phenotype to Prx1-driven Bmi-1 knockout in BMSCs. Regarding mechanism, Bmi-1-RING1B bound to DNMT3A and promoted its ubiquitination and inhibited DNA methylation of Runx2 at the region from 45047012 to 45047313 bp, thus promoting the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs. Moreover, Bmi-1-EZH2 repressed the transcription of Cebpa by promoting H3K27 trimethylation at the promoter region -1605 to -1596 bp, thus inhibiting the adipogenic differentiation of BMSCs. It is also found that Prx1-driven Bmi-1 overexpression rescued the SOP induced by Prx1-driven Bmi-1 knockout in BMSCs. Thus, Bmi-1 functioned as a hub protein in the epigenetic regulation of BMSCs differentiation to delay bone aging. The Prx1-driven Bmi-1 overexpression in BMSCs can be used as an approach for the translational therapy of SOP.

OBJECTIVES: To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of patients with uterine sarcoma treated following surgery for presumed benign disease. METHODS: We identified all patients with uterine sarcoma found incidentally after primary surgery for presumed benign disease who presented to our institution and received re-exploration for completion surgery from January 1, 2004 to January 1, 2021. We analyzed the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis. RESULTS: Overall, 95 patients were included in our study. For the initial surgery, myomectomy was performed in 50 (52.6%, 50/95) patients, hysterectomy was performed in 45 (47.4%, 45/95) patients. All patients were re-explored to complete the staging operation. The median time to the staging surgery was 40 days (range 15-90 days). There were 29 patients (30.5%, 29/95) had remnant sarcomas, with 17 patients (17/95, 17.9%) on the remaining uterus, 9 patients (9/95, 9.5%) had disseminated diseases, and 4 patients (4/95, 4.2%) had positive lymph nodes. About 40 patients (42.1%) received adjuvant chemotherapy, 55.2% (16/29) and 36.4% (24/66) patients with/without remnant diseases received adjuvant chemotherapy, respectively (P = 0.087). The median follow-up duration was 76.7 months (IQR: 34.8-118.1 months). And 17 patients (17.9%) had recurrence following re-exploration surgery. 5-year progression-free survival (PFS) and 5-year overall survival (OS) for the entire cohort was 81.7% and 92.1%, respectively. Patients with remnant sarcomas had a tendency towards a worse 5-year PFS and 5-year OS, compared with those without (5-year PFS: 75.6% vs. 84.5%, P = 0.224; 5-year OS: 85.5% vs. 95.1%, P = 0.217). Patients with disseminated diseases had a worse 5-year OS (62.5% vs. 95.1%, P = 0.007) and non-significantly worse 5-year PFS (64.8% vs. 83.4%, P = 0.153) compared with those without. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with uterine sarcoma treated following surgery for presumed benign disease have a favorable survival. Patients with disseminated diseases had a worse 5-year OS compared with those without. Surgical re-exploration may be valuable for removing remnant sarcomas and disseminated diseases.

In this study, Ginkgo biloba leave polyprenols (GBP) and polypyridine metal complex were individually utilized as functional ligand and main ligand, four kinds of novel GBP-based polypyridine metal complexes were successfully synthesized and their cell absorption capacity, light-dark stability, photodissociation efficiency, ROS production capacity, light-controlled antibacterial and anti-tumor activities as well as mechanisms were systematically investigated by ultraviolet visible spectrophotometer (UV-vis), confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM), gel electrophoresis (GE), scanning electron microscope (SEM), oxford cup method, MTT method etc. The lipid water distribution coefficients of complex 1, 2 and 4 were all within the range of 0∼3, demonstrating their better cell absorption capacity and more competitive bioavailability potentiality compared with GBP. All of the synthesized complexes possessed excellent stability in a dark environment, and could conduct ligand dissociation under the condition of visible light irradiation except complex 1. In which, complex 2 and complex 4 were able to achieve degradation rates of 37.9 % and 54.4 % within 5 min, separately. In addition, complex 2 and complex 4 exhibited superior inhibitory activities on the HN-3 tumor cells on account of their stronger ROS production capacity. Moreover, the constricted expression of BCL-2 and NF-kB p-p65, especially the promoted expression of BAX may be one of the root cause. The four synthesized complexes had preferable inhibition effects against S. aureus under the condition of visible light irradiation in contrast to darkness, in which complex 4 was the best and its MIC and MBC values were 6.25 and 12.5 µg/mL, respectively. The antibacterial mechanism of the complex 4 may be in relation to the synergistic effect of multiple factors, including leakage of bacterial inclusion, change of cell membrane permeability and disruption of cell wall etc. All of the above generalized researches will pave a way for the high-value development and application of GBP-based functional products.

OBJECTIVE: To determine prognosis and factors associated with survival of women with uterine sarcoma found incidentally after myomectomy. METHODS: We performed a retrospective study for patients who had previously undergone myomectomy for presumed benign uterine fibroid disease and were found to have uterine confined sarcoma after myomectomy surgery. RESULTS: In total, 50 patients were identified. There were 23 (46.0 %) patients undergoing myomectomy were performed by minimal invasive surgery: laparoscopic (Lap, n = 22, 44.0 %) or transvaginal (TV, n = 1, 2.0 %) approach; while, 24 (48.0 %) and 3 (6.0 %) patients had myomectomy through abdominal (Abd) or hysteroscopic (Hys) approach. All patients received the re-exploration and staging surgery in our center. The median time from myomectomy to the staging surgery was 43 days (range 15-90 days). 17 patients had remnant sarcomas on the remaining uterus and 6 patients had disseminated disease after re-exploration. In the entire cohort, 5-year RFS and 5-year OS was 79.4 % and 88.0 %, respectively. Patients who received initial Lap/TV myomectomy had a tendency towards a worse 5-year RFS compared with Abd/Hys approach (63.0 % vs 88.9 %, P = 0.080). No difference in 5-year OS was found between the two groups (90.3 % vs 91.8 %, P = 0.768). For stage I disease (n = 44), patients who received Lap/TV myomectomy had a worse 5-year RFS compared with Abd/Hys approach (58.3 % vs 95.7 %, P = 0.009). No difference in 5-year OS was found (P = 0.121). CONCLUSION: Patients with incidental uterine sarcoma who received primary Lap/TV myomectomy may have a worse RFS. Re-exploration can detect remnant or disseminated sarcomas.

Thermoelectrics converting heat and electricity directly attract broad attentions. To enhance the thermoelectric figure of merit, zT, one of the key points is to decouple the carrier-phonon transport. Here, we propose an entropy engineering strategy to realize the carrier-phonon decoupling in the typical SrTiO3-based perovskite thermoelectrics. By high-entropy design, the lattice thermal conductivity could be reduced nearly to the amorphous limit, 1.25 W m-1 K-1. Simultaneously, entropy engineering can tune the Ti displacement, improving the weighted mobility to 65 cm2 V-1 s-1. Such carrier-phonon decoupling behaviors enable the greatly enhanced µW/κL of ~5.2 × 103 cm3 K J-1 V-1. The measured maximum zT of 0.24 at 488 K and the estimated zT of ~0.8 at 1173 K in (Sr0.2Ba0.2Ca0.2Pb0.2La0.2)TiO3 film are among the best of n-type thermoelectric oxides. These results reveal that the entropy engineering may be a promising strategy to decouple the carrier-phonon transport and achieve higher zT in thermoelectrics.

It is well known that the overall quality of japonica/geng rice is superior to that of indica/xian rice varieties. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the quality disparities between these two subspecies of rice are still largely unknown. In this study, we have pinpointed a gene homologous to SLR1, termed LCG1, exhibiting significant expression during early caryopsis development and playing a specific role in regulating rice chalkiness and taste by affecting the accumulation of grain storage components, starch granule structure and chain length distribution of amylopectin. LCG1 physically interacts with OsBP5 and indirectly influences the expression of the amylose synthesis gene Waxy (Wx) by hindering the transcriptional activity of the OsBP5/OsEBP89 complex. Notably, sequence variations in the promoter region of LCG1 result in enhanced transcription in japonica rice accessions. This leads to elevated LCG1 expression in CSSL-LCG1Nip, thereby enhancing rice quality. Our research elucidates the molecular mechanism underlying the impact of the LCG1-OsBP5/OsEBP89-Wx regulatory pathway on rice chalkiness and taste quality, offering new genetic resources for improving the indica rice quality.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of Miao medicinal Canna edulis RS3-resistant starch on behavioral performance and substantia nigra neuron apoptosis-related indicators in a rat model of Parkinson's disease (PD). Among the experimental groups, except for the control group, we induced PD rat models by subcutaneous injection of rotenone in the neck and back. After model induction, a 28-day drug intervention was conducted. Various techniques have been employed, including behavioral analysis, Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR), western blotting, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), immunofluorescence, and terminal deoxynucleotidyltransferase-mediated UTP nick-ends. labeling (TUNEL) and Nissl staining to investigate the effect of Canna edulis RS3-resistant starch on the substantia nigra and neuronal apoptosis-related markers in the brains of PD model rats. Our study revealed that Canna edulis RS3, a resistant starch, significantly reduced the climbing time of PD model rats, prolonged their hanging time, lowered the expression levels of the inflammatory factors IL-1ß, IL-6, and TNF-α, increased the number of TH-positive neurons in the substantia nigra, and decreased the levels of IL-1ß, IL-6, and TNF-α. Furthermore, Canna edulis RS3 elevated the protein expression levels of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) and Bcl-2 while reducing those of Bax, TLR4, NLRP3,and p-P65, and mitigated apoptosis and morphological changes in dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra region. Our results suggest that Canna edulis RS3-resistant starch may offer therapeutic benefits for PD patients with PD by potentially influencing inflammation and apoptosis in the dopaminergic system.

The polymer solar cells (PSCs) have garnered substantial interest owing to their lightweight, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility, making them ideal for large-scale roll-to-roll manufacturing. In this study, two wide-bandgap (WBG) donor polymers, PFBiTPD and PClBiTPD, utilizing bithieno[3,4-c]pyrrole-4,6-dione (BiTPD) as the electron-accepting unit and fluorinated/chlorinated benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b']dithiophene (BDT) as the electron-donating moiety are designed and synthesized. The polymers demonstrated large optical bandgaps (exceeding 1.80 eV) and are blended with ITIC-4F to form the active layers in PSCs. The PFBiTPD-based devices showed a well-dispersed fibrillar network, facilitating efficient charge generation and transport. Thus, these devices attained a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 8.60%, featuring a fill factor (FF) of 62.89%, an open-circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.88 V and a short-circuit current density (Jsc) of 15.54 mA cm-2. In contrast, PClBiTPD-based devices displayed lower performance due to less favorable morphology. The study underscores the importance of polymer design and morphology control in optimizing the photovoltaic performance of PSCs.

BACKGROUND: Fatigue is one of the most common neurological symptoms reported post coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection. In order to establish effective early intervention strategies, more emphasis should be placed on the correlation between fatigue and cortical neurophysiological changes, especially in healthcare workers, who are at a heightened risk of COVID-19 infection. METHODS: A prospective cohort study was conducted involving 29 COVID-19 medical workers and 24 healthy controls. The assessment included fatigue, sleep and health quality, psychological status, and physical capacity. Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) was employed to detect activation of brain regions. Bilateral primary motor cortex (M1) excitabilities were measured using single- and paired-pulse transcranial magnetic stimulation. Outcomes were assessed at 1, 3, and 6 months into the disease course. RESULTS: At 1-month post-COVID-19 infection, 37.9% of patients experienced severe fatigue symptoms, dropping to 10.3% at 3 months. Interestingly, the remarkable decreased activation/excitability of bilateral prefrontal lobe (PFC) and M1 were closely linked to fatigue symptoms after COVID-19. Notably, greater increase in M1 region excitability correlated with more significant fatigue improvement. Re-infected patients exhibited lower levels of brain activation and excitability compared to single-infection patients. CONCLUSIONS: Both single infection and reinfection of COVID-19 lead to decreased activation and excitability of the PFC and M1. The degree of excitability improvement in the M1 region correlates with a greater recovery in fatigue. Based on these findings, targeted interventions to enhance and regulate the excitability of M1 may represent a novel strategy for COVID-19 early rehabilitation. BACKGROUND: To investigate the peripapillary retinal nerve fibre layer (RNFL) thickness changes and analyse factors associated with visual recovery of G11778A Leber hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) patients. METHODS: Patients diagnosed with G11778A LHON between July 2017 and December 2020 in Tongji hospital were included in this follow-up study. Patients were grouped according to disease duration. Variations in the RNFL thickness in each quadrant at different disease stages were characterised using optical coherence tomography. According to the absence or presence of significant visual acuity improvements, LHON patients of disease duration ≥ 6 months were divided into two groups. A bivariate logistic regression model was constructed to analyse the potential factors associated with spontaneous visual recovery. RESULTS: This study included 56 G11778A LHON patients (112 eyes) and 25 healthy controls (50 eyes), with a mean follow-up of 5.25 ± 1.42 months. All quadrants and mean RNFL thicknesses of LHON patients first increased and then decreased, except for the temporal RNFL. As the disease progressed, RNFL thinning slowed; however, gradual RNFL thinning occurred. Logistic regression revealed that baseline best corrected visual acuity was related to spontaneous visual recovery of LHON patients with disease duration ≥ 6 months. CONCLUSION: The pattern of RNFL involvement could be helpful in the differential diagnosis of LHON and other optic neuropathies. LHON patients with better vision are more likely to experience some degree of spontaneous visual acuity recovery after the subacute phase.

Alveolar bone defect reconstruction is a common challenge in stomatology. To address this, a thermosensitive/photosensitive gelatin methacrylate (GelMA) gel was developed based on various air solubilities and light-curing technologies. The gel was synthesized by using a freeze-ultraviolet (FUV) method to form a porous and quickly (within 15 min) solidifying modified network structure. Unlike other gel scaffolds limited by complex preparation procedures and residual products, this FUV-GelMA gel shows favorable manufacturing ability, promising biocompatibility, and adjustable macroporous structures. The results from a rat model suggested that this gel scaffold creates a conducive microenvironment for mandible reconstruction and vascularization. In vitro experiments further confirmed that the FUV-GelMA gel promotes osteogenic differentiation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and angiogenesis of human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Investigation of the underlying mechanism focused on the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway. We found that SB203580, a specific inhibitor of p38 MAPK, abolished the therapeutic effects of the FUV-GelMA gel on osteogenesis and angiogenesis, both in vitro and in vivo. These findings introduced a novel approach for scaffold-based tissue regeneration in future clinical applications.

BACKGROUND: Jianpi Jiedu Recipe has been used to treat digestive tract tumors in China since ancient times, and its reliability has been proven by clinical research. Currently, the specific biological mechanism of JPJDR in treating tumors is unclear. METHODOLOGY: CCK-8 assay was used to detect cell viability. Clone formation assay and EdU assay were used to detect cell proliferation potential. DCFH-DA probe and JC-1 probe were used to detect total intracellular reactive oxygen species and mitochondrial membrane potential, respectively. Western blotting and immunofluorescence were used to detect protein expression level and subcellular localization of cells. The RFP-GFP-LC3B reporter system was used to observe the type of autophagy in cells. The xenograft tumor model was used to study the therapeutic effect of JPJDR in vivo. RESULTS: JPJDR has an excellent inhibitory effect on various colorectal cancer cells and effectively reduces the proliferation ability of HT29 cells. After treatment with JPJDR, the amount of reactive oxygen species in HT29 cells increased significantly, and the mitochondrial membrane potential decreased. JPJDR induced the accumulation of autophagosomes in HT29 cells and was shown to be incomplete autophagy. At the same time, JPJDR reduced the expression of PD-L1. Meanwhile, JPJDR can exert an excellent therapeutic effect in xenograft tumor mice. CONCLUSION: JPJDR is a low-toxicity and effective anti-tumor agent that can effectively treat colon cancer in vitro and in vivo. Its mechanism may be inducing mitochondrial dysfunction and incomplete autophagy injury to inhibit the proliferation of colon cancer cells.

Relaxor ferroelectrics are highly desired for pulse-power dielectric capacitors, however it has become a bottleneck that substantial enhancements of energy density generally sacrifice energy efficiency under superhigh fields. Here, we demonstrate a novel concept of highly polarizable concentrated dipole glass in delicately-designed high-entropy (Bi1/3Ba1/3Na1/3)(Fe2/9Ti5/9Nb2/9)O3 ceramic achieved via substitution of multiple heterovalent ferroelectric-active principal cation species on equivalent lattice sites. The atomic-scaled polar heterogeneity of dipoles with different polar vectors between adjacent unit cells enables diffuse reorientation process but disables appreciable growth with electric fields. These unique features cause superior recoverable energy density of ~15.9 J cm-3 and efficiency of ~93.3% in bulk ceramics. We also extend the highly polarizable concentrated dipole glass to the prototype multilayer ceramic capacitor, which exhibits record-breaking recoverable energy density of ~26.3 J cm-3 and efficiency of ~92.4% with excellent temperature and cycle stability. This research presents a distinctive approach for designing high-performance energy-storage dielectric capacitors.

Magnons, bosonic quasiparticles carrying angular momentum, can flow through insulators for information transmission with minimal power dissipation. However, it remains challenging to develop a magnon-based logic due to the lack of efficient electrical manipulation of magnon transport. Here we show the electric excitation and control of multiferroic magnon modes in a spin-source/multiferroic/ferromagnet structure. We demonstrate that the ferroelectric polarization can electrically modulate the magnon-mediated spin-orbit torque by controlling the non-collinear antiferromagnetic structure in multiferroic bismuth ferrite thin films with coupled antiferromagnetic and ferroelectric orders. In this multiferroic magnon torque device, magnon information is encoded to ferromagnetic bits by the magnon-mediated spin torque. By manipulating the two coupled non-volatile state variables-ferroelectric polarization and magnetization-we further present reconfigurable logic operations in a single device. Our findings highlight the potential of multiferroics for controlling magnon information transport and offer a pathway towards room-temperature voltage-controlled, low-power, scalable magnonics for in-memory computing.

Hybrid halide perovskites are good candidates for a range of functional materials such as optical electronic and photovoltaic devices due to their tunable band gaps, long carrier diffusion lengths, and solution processability. However, the instability in moisture/air, the toxicity of lead, and rigorous reaction setup or complex postprocessing have long been the bottlenecks for practical application. Herein, we present a simultaneous configurational entropy design at A-sites, B-sites, and X-sites in the typical (CHA)2PbBr4 two-dimensional (2D) hybrid perovskite. Our results demonstrate that the high-entropy effect favors the stabilization of the hybrid perovskite phase and facilitates a simple crystallization process without precise control of the cooling rate to prepare regular crystals. Moreover, high-entropy 2D perovskite crystals exhibit tunable energy band gaps, broadband emission, and a long carrier lifetime. Meanwhile, the high-entropy composition almost maintains the initial crystal structure in deionized water for 18 h while the original (CHA)2PbBr4 crystal mostly decomposes, suggesting obviously improved humidity stability. This work offers a facile approach to synthesize humidity-stable hybrid perovskites under mild conditions, accelerating relevant preparation of optoelectronics and light-emitting devices and facilitating the ultimate commercialization of halide perovskite.
