RESUMEN

Background: Patients undergoing painless egg retrieval are prone to preoperative anxiety, and whether preoperative anxiety induces postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is debated. The primary objective of this prospective, randomized, controlled study was to compare the clinical effect of ondansetron in preventing PONV for patients with and without preoperative anxiety. The secondary objective was to investigate whether preoperative anxiety was associated with PONV. Methods: The self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) was used to assess the anxiety patients undergoing painless egg retrieval. Patients with a SAS standard score of 50-60 were selected to the anxiety group (n=105); and patients with a SAS standard score of 25-35 were assigned to the non-anxiety group (n=104). Venous blood samples of both groups of patients were obtained during admission and 1 hour after surgery, and all serotonin (5-HT) levels were tested using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The anxiety group was then randomly assigned into two subgroups: ondansetron (AO group, n=53) and placebo saline (AS group, n=52). Similarly, patients in the non-anxiety group were also randomly assigned to one of two subgroups: ondansetron (NO group, n=51) and placebo saline (NS group, n=53). The AO and NO groups received 8 mg (4 mL) of intravenous ondansetron 15 minutes before surgery, while the AS and NS groups received an equivalent volume (4 mL) of normal saline. We then analyzed the vital signs, risk factors for nausea and vomiting, intraoperative anesthetic doses, incidences of nausea and vomiting in 24 hours after surgery, serum 5-HT level before and after surgery, other adverse responses, pain scores, and satisfaction. Results: A total of 200 patients eventually completed this study. The serum 5-HT values in the anxiety group were higher before and after surgery than in the non-anxiety group (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference in serum 5-HT before and after surgery in the same group (P>0.05). The incidence of PONV was more significant in the AS group than in the NS group (P<0.05). The incidence of PONV was also higher in the AS group than in the AO group (P<0.05). Still, there was no statistically significant difference between the NO and NS groups (P>0.05). There were no significant differences between the four groups in vital signs, risk factors for nausea and vomiting, intraoperative anesthetic doses, other adverse responses and pain scores (P>0.05). Patients in the AS group had lower satisfaction scores than those in the other three groups (P<0.05). Conclusions: Patients experiencing preoperative anxiety have a greater risk of PONV following painless egg retrieval compared to those without preoperative anxiety. Ondansetron can reduce the occurrence of PONV in patients with preoperative anxiety, but it has no discernible preventative effect in non-anxious patients. INTRODUCTION: Serum lipid profiles play a crucial role in diagnosing and evaluating cardiovascular diseases. However, the presence of paraprotein can lead to inaccurate dyslipidemia results on automated analyzers. CASE REPORT: A 65-year-old woman whose combined concentrations of HDL-cholesterol (HDL-C) and LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) consistently surpassed her total serum cholesterol levels over a period of three months presented with unusual lipid component detection. Further analysis revealed the presence of a monoclonal paraprotein, identified as an IgMλ band, with a concentration of 28.0 g/L. The patient was subsequently diagnosed with Waldenström macroglobulinemia. The use of abnormal reaction kinetic curves and the ß quantification method, along with an alternative method that did not suffer from interference, revealed that the monoclonal paraprotein interfered with the measurements of HDL-C, LDL-C, apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I), and apolipoprotein B (apoB) when using the Roche detection system. This interference led to spurious elevated HDL-C concentrations and falsely decreased apoA-I and apoB concentrations, while the LDL-C results were minimally affected. Although diluting the sample normalized the HDL-C and LDL-C measurements, the interference with the apoA-I and apoB assays persisted. No other common biochemical tests were interfered with this paraprotein. CONCLUSION: Caution is advised when using a homogenous method for direct measurement of HDL-C and LDL-C in patients with monoclonal paraprotein. Techniques to recognize and eliminate this interference are available. However, immunoturbidimetric detection of apoA-I and apoB levels is also susceptible to this interference, which is not readily removable.

Alkynones are valuable compounds with applications in various areas. In this work, we developed an efficient carbonylation procedure for the carbonylative cross-coupling of aryl thianthrenium salts with aromatic alkynes. Various useful alkynones were produced in moderate to excellent yields under mild conditions. Notably, among the various tolerated functional groups, the bromide group can be maintained, which is ready for further coupling reactions.

In spite of its essential role in culture media, the precise influence of lactate on early mouse embryonic development remains elusive. Previous studies have implicated lactate accumulation in medium affecting histone acetylation. Recent research has underscored lactate-derived histone lactylation as a novel epigenetic modification in diverse cellular processes and diseases. Our investigation demonstrated that the absence of sodium lactate in the medium resulted in a pronounced 2-cell arrest at the late G2 phase in embryos. RNA-seq analysis revealed that the absence of sodium lactate significantly impaired the maternal-to-zygotic transition (MZT), particularly in zygotic gene activation (ZGA). Investigations were conducted employing Cut&Tag assays targeting the well-studied histone acetylation and lactylation sites, H3K18la and H3K27ac, respectively. The findings revealed a noticeable reduction in H3K18la modification under lactate deficiency, and this alteration showed a significant correlation with changes in gene expression. In contrast, H3K27ac exhibited minimal correlation. These results suggest that lactate may preferentially influence early embryonic development through H3K18la rather than H3K27ac modifications.

Background: Homer protein homolog 3 (HOMER3), a factor implicated in both physiological and pathological processes, has been studied extensively to determine the relationship between its expression level and the prognosis of various malignancies. However, the significance and clinicopathological role of HOMER3 in colorectal adenocarcinoma remain unclear. Methods: In this study, bioinformatics techniques were used to find the correlation between high HOMER3 expression levels and clinicopathological features of colorectal adenocarcinoma (COAD) patients. Results: Cellular experiments confirmed the differential expression of HOMER3 in tumor cells compared to normal cells. HOMER3 overexpression was significantly associated with COAD staging and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) levels. Patients with high HOMER3 expression levels have a poor prognosis. HOMER3 expression levels can be distinguished more accurately between tumor and non-tumor tissues (AUC = 0.634). The HOMER3 gene variation rate in COAD tissue was 0.7 %. Moreover, 16 of the 22 DNA methylation sites in HOMER3 were associated with COAD prognosis. Our findings confirmed that HOMER3 was positively correlated with immune cell infiltration and immune checkpoints (PD-1, CTLA-4, LMTK3, and LAG3) in COAD, Specifically, we will clearly state that while there is statistical significance, the actual strength of the correlations is weak. During KEGG enrichment analysis, HOMER3 was enriched along with DLG4 and SHANK1 in glutamatergic synapses. Additionally, upstream microRNAs that could bind to HOMER3 were predicted. These findings suggest that HOMER3 might be involved in COAD development and immune regulation. Conclusions: HOMER3 acts as a potential biomarker that can facilitate innovative developments in the diagnosis and prognostic assessment of COAD.

The Sichuan-Yunnan region is the main production area of yaks in southwestern China, with rich genetic resources of Yaks. Nevertheless, there have been limited study on the genetic characteristics of the entire yak populations in Tibet and southwestern China. In this study, we performed whole-genome resequencing to identify genetic variation information in a total of 198 individuals from six yak breeds (populations) in Sichuan (Muli yak, Jinchuan yak, Changtai yak, Maiwa yak), Yunnan (Zhongdian yak), and Tibet (Tibetan yak). The aim was to investigate the whole-genome genetic diversity, population genetic structure, and genome selection signatures. We observed that all six populations exhibit abundant genetic diversity. Except for Tibetan yaks, which showed low nucleotide diversity (0.00104), the remaining yak populations generally displayed high nucleotide diversity (0.00129-0.00153). Population genetic structure analysis revealed that, among the six yak populations, Muli yak exhibited greater differentiation from other yak populations and formed a distinct cluster independently. The Maiwa yak population displayed a complex genetic structure and exhibited gene exchange with Jinchuan and Changtai yaks. Positive selection signals were detected in candidate genes associated with growth (GNB4, HMGA2, TRPS1, and LTBP1), reproduction (PI4KB, DYNC1I1, and GRIP1), immunity (CD200 and IL1RAP), lactation (SNX13 and CPM), hypoxia adaptation (NDUFB6, PRKN, and MRPS9), hair (KRT24, KRT25, and KRT26), meat quality (SUCLG2), digestion and absorption (CLDN1), and pigment deposition (OCA2) using the integrated Pi and F ST methods. This study provides significant insights into understanding the whole-genome genetic characteristics of yak populations in Tibet and southwestern China.

This study focuses on the development of high-performance insulation materials to address the critical issue of reducing building energy consumption. Magnesium-aluminum layered double hydroxides (LDHs), known for their distinctive layered structure featuring positively charged brucite-like layers and an interlayer space, have been identified as promising candidates for insulation applications. Building upon previous research, which demonstrated the enhanced thermal insulation properties of methyl trimethoxysilane (MTS) functionalized LDHs synthesized through a one-step in situ hydrothermal method, this work delves into the systematic exploration of particle size regulation and its consequential effects on the thermal insulation performance of coatings. Our findings indicate a direct correlation between the dosage of MTS and the particle size of LDHs, with an optimal dosage of 4 wt% MTS yielding LDHs that exhibit a tightly interconnected hydrotalcite lamellar structure. This specific modification resulted in the most significant improvement in thermal insulation, achieving a temperature difference of approximately 25.5 °C. Furthermore, to gain a deeper understanding of the thermal insulation mechanism of MTS-modified LDHs, we conducted a thorough characterization of their UV-visible diffuse reflectance and thermal conductivity. This research contributes to the advancement of LDH-based materials for use in thermal insulation applications, offering a sustainable solution to energy conservation in the built environment.

AIMS: Trophoblast cell dysfunction is one of the important factors leading to preeclampsia (PE). Cytoplasmic polyadenylation element-binding 2 (CPEB2) has been found to be differentially expressed in PE patients, but whether it mediates PE process by regulating trophoblast cell function is unclear. METHODS: The expression of CPEB2 and somatostatin receptor 3 (SSTR3) was detected by quantitative real-time PCR, Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence staining. Cell functions were analyzed by CCK-8 assay, EdU assay, flow cytometry and transwell assay. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related protein levels were detected by WB. The interaction of CPEB2 and SSTR3 was confirmed by RIP assay, dual-luciferase reporter assay and PCR poly(A) tail assay. Animal experiments were performed to explore the effect of CPEB2 on PE progression in vivo, and the placental tissues of rat were used for H&E staining, immunohistochemical staining and TUNEL staining. RESULTS: CPEB2 was lowly expressed in PE patients. CPEB2 upregulation accelerated trophoblast cell proliferation, migration, invasion and EMT, while its knockdown had an opposite effect. CPEB2 bound to the CPE site in the 3'-UTR of SSTR3 mRNA to suppress SSTR3 translation through reducing poly(A) tails. Besides, SSTR3 overexpression suppressed trophoblast cell proliferation, migration, invasion and EMT, while its silencing accelerated trophoblast cell functions. However, these effects could be reversed by CPEB2 upregulation and knockdown, respectively. In vivo experiments, CPEB2 overexpression relieved histopathologic changes, inhibited apoptosis, promoted proliferation and enhanced EMT in the placenta of PE rat by decreasing SSTR3 expression. CONCLUSION: CPEB2 inhibited PE progression, which promoted trophoblast cell functions by inhibiting SSTR3 translation through polyadenylation.

A multi-component carbonylation reaction is an efficient strategy for the synthesis of valuable carbonyl compounds from simple and readily available substrates. However, there remain challenges in carbonylation reactions where two CO molecules are converted to different groups in the target product. Considering the merit of complex amides, we reported here a copper-catalyzed multi-component borylamidation for the synthesis of γ-boryl amides. This method provides access to a wide range of functional γ-boryl amides from alkenes, amines, B2pin2, and CO with good yields and excellent diastereomeric ratios. Notably, two CO molecules were converted to methylene and carbonyl groups in the target amides. A series of amines were successfully involved in the transformation, including arylamines, aliphatic amines, and hydrochloride salts of secondary aliphatic amines.

The process of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) reprogramming involves several crucial events, including the mesenchymal-epithelial transition (MET), activation of pluripotent genes, metabolic reprogramming, and epigenetic rewiring. Although these events intricately interact and influence each other, the specific element that regulates the reprogramming network remains unclear. Dux, a factor known to promote totipotency during the transition from embryonic stem cells (ESC) to 2C-like ESC (2CLC), has not been extensively studied in the context of iPSC reprogramming. In this study, we demonstrate that the modification of H3K18la induced by Dux overexpression controls the metabolism-H3K18la-MET network, enhancing the efficiency of iPSC reprogramming through a metabolic switch and the recruitment of p300 via its C-terminal domain. Furthermore, our proteomic analysis of H3K18la immunoprecipitation experiment uncovers the specific recruitment of Brg1 during reprogramming, with both H3K18la and Brg1 being enriched on the promoters of genes associated with pluripotency and epithelial junction. In summary, our study has demonstrated the significant role of Dux-induced H3K18la in the early reprogramming process, highlighting its function as a potent trigger. Additionally, our research has revealed, for the first time, the binding of Brg1 to H3K18la, indicating its role as a reader of histone lactylation.

Recent studies have elucidated Nr5a2's role in activating zygotic genes during early mouse embryonic development. Subsequent research, however, reveals that Nr5a2 is not critical for zygotic genome activation but is vital for the gene program between the 4- and 8-cell stages. A significant gap exists in experimental evidence regarding its function during the first lineage differentiation's pivotal period. In this study, we observed that approximately 20% of embryos developed to the blastocyst stage following Nr5a2 ablation. However, these blastocysts lacked inner cell mass (ICM), highlighting Nr5a2's importance in first lineage differentiation. Mechanistically, using RNA sequencing and CUT&Tag, we found that Nr5a2 transcriptionally regulates ICM-specific genes, such as Oct4, to establish the pluripotent network. Interference with or overexpression of Nr5a2 in single blastomeres of 2-cell embryos can alter the fate of daughter cells. Our results indicate that Nr5a2 works as a doorkeeper to ensure ICM formation in mouse blastocyst.

BACKGROUND: The Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale for Children (CES-DC) is a widely used scale for screening depressive symptoms in children and adolescents. This study aims to uncover the optimal factor structure of the DES-DC and presents an alternate conceptualization of adolescent depression by estimating bifactor models and several competing models using a sample of Chinese adolescents. METHODS: The participants were 533 adolescents (49.7% boys, 49.7% girls, 3 participants did not report) between 12 and 18 years of age attending public secondary schools in the middle part of mainland China. Data were collected in classrooms using a questionnaire survey. A structural equation modeling approach was used to estimate and compare a series of competing models for the DES-DC. RESULTS: A Bifactor exploratory structural equation model (Bi-ESEM) with the best model fit was retained for representing the current data. Tests of measurement invariance demonstrated strict measurement equivalence across gender and age. No gender and age differences have been found in the general depression factor. Findings provided evidence for the composite reliability and construct validity of DES-DC. Depressive symptoms positively related to the Big Five trait neuroticism, negative emotions, loneliness, social anxious behaviors, and disruptive behaviors during school and negatively related to agreeableness, conscientiousness, extraversion, physical health status, school connectedness, and academic self-efficacy. CONCLUSIONS: This study provides support for the one general factor construct of the CES-DC and the continuum concept structure of adolescent depression. Moreover, this research offers empirical evidence for comparing depression symptoms among adolescent populations with diverse genders and age groups. Additionally, the findings replicate and expand upon the implications of depressive symptoms on adolescents' traits, well-being, social-relational adjustment, and academic adaptation.

Effective interpersonal emotion regulation (IER) strategies have been found to be meaningful predictors for positive psychological functioning. The Difficulties in Interpersonal Regulation of Emotions Scale (DIRE) is a measure developed to assess maladaptive IER strategies. This study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the Chinese version of DIRE using two college student samples (Sample 1: n = 296; Sample 2: n = 419). The two-factor structure of DIRE (venting and excessive reassurance-seeking) was confirmed through an exploratory structure equation modeling approach. Our results demonstrated that the Chinese version of DIRE exhibits a similar factor structure (in both samples) as the original DIRE. Measurement invariance across gender and samples was also achieved. Latent mean analyses demonstrated that females more frequently reported excessive reassurance-seeking (in both samples) and venting (in Sample 1) than males. Furthermore, venting and excessive reassurance-seeking were significantly related to intrapersonal emotion regulation and well-being indicators. Although in Chinese culture DIRE performs somewhat differently from the original DIRE, the current findings suggest that DIRE is a reliable and valid scale with which to measure the IER strategies in Chinese culture and the use of this measure in clinical practice may allow for an accurate assessment of emotion regulation deficits in clients from other diverse cultures.

The rapid reversal of deep neuromuscular blockade (NMB) is important but remains challenging. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of adamgammadex versus sugammadex in reversing deep rocuronium-induced NMB. This multicenter, randomized, phase IIb study included 80 patients aged 18-64 years, American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) grade 1-2, undergoing elective surgery under general anesthesia with rocuronium. Patients were randomized to the adamgammadex 7, 8, and 9 mg/kg group or the sugammadex 4 mg/kg group. The primary efficacy variable was the time to recovery of train-of-four ratio (TOFr) to 0.9. The secondary efficacy variables were the time to recovery of TOFr to 0.7, antagonistic success rate of the recovery of TOFr to 0.9 within 5 min, and incidence rate of recurarization within 30 min after drug administration. The explorative efficacy variable was the time to recovery of the corrected TOFr to 0.9 (actual/baseline TOF ratio). Adamgammadex 7, 8, and 9 mg/kg and sugammadex 4 mg/kg groups did not significantly differ in all efficacy variables. Importantly, adamgammadex 9 mg/kg permitted reversal within a geometric mean of 2.9 min. According to the safety profile, adamgammadex achieved good tolerance and low incidence of drug-related adverse events compared with the 4 mg/kg sugammadex. Adamgammadex 7, 8, and 9 mg/kg facilitated rapid reversal of deep rocuronium-induced NMB and had good tolerance and low incidence of drug-related adverse events. Therefore, adamgammadex is a potential and promising alternative to sugammadex.

AIM: This study aimed to evaluate the use of a concise fall risk stratification in assessing and predicting falls compared with the Morse Falls Scale among older adults with cataracts in day surgery settings. METHODS: A historically controlled study conducted from July 2020 to June 2022 was used in a municipal ophthalmic hospital in China. The concise fall risk stratification which directly graded fall risk by multifactorial judgment was used during the intervention period, while the Morse Falls Scale which graded fall risk by scale scores was used during the control period. The fall risk levels, fall assessment time, fall rates, fall-related injuries, predictive validity, and patient satisfaction with day surgery care were extracted. Propensity score matching was performed to balance baselines. RESULTS: After matching, 4132 patients were included in the final analysis. Compared with the control group, the intervention group had significantly higher assessment results for fall risk level, a significantly shorter (by 48.15%) fall assessment time, and higher patient satisfaction. There were no differences in fall rates and fall-related injuries. Compared with the Morse Falls Scale, the concise fall risk stratification had higher sensitivity and negative predictive validity, and lower specificity and positive predictive validity, while the area under curve did not differ significantly. CONCLUSION: The use of the concise fall risk stratification reduced fall assessment time, improved patient satisfaction, and is unlikely to impact falls with an overall predictive performance comparable to that of the Morse Falls Scale for older cataract adults in day surgery settings.

Purpose: In recent years, research on interpersonal emotion regulation has garnered increasing attention. Extrinsic emotion regulation (EER) or the regulation of others' emotions is associated with individual personal relationships and mental health outcomes. However, investigations into why people engage in extrinsic emotion regulation are relatively rare. The current study aimed to identify the underlying factor structure of the motives of extrinsic emotion regulation, based on the Extrinsic Emotion Regulation Motives Scale (EERMS), to examine how these factors related to people's moral identity and social relationships during the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants and Methods: The participants of this study were 464 adults (73.1% females) from China who completed an online survey based on EERMS and other related measures. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was utilized to examine the underlying structure of EER motives followed by a bifactor EFA (bi-EFA). Results: Analyses revealed that the bi-EFA model, with an overarching factor (other-oriented empathetic concern) and three specific factors (self-orientation, reciprocation, and obligation), was best applied to the data. These factors were differently associated with social well-being indicators (moral self-identity, peer relationship quality, and perceived social support). Conclusion: This preliminary study supports the use of a hierarchical perspective to understand the different dimensions of motives for extrinsic emotion regulation.

Building bridges among different types of catalysts to construct cascades is a highly worthwhile pursuit, such as chemo-, bio-, and chemo-bio cascade reactions. Cascade reactions can improve the reaction efficiency and selectivity while reducing steps of separation and purification, thereby promoting the development of "green chemistry". However, compatibility issues in cascade reactions pose significant constraints on the development of this field, particularly concerning the compatibility of diverse catalyst types, reaction conditions, and reaction rates. Metal-organic framework micro/nano reactors (MOF-MNRs) are porous crystalline materials formed by the self-assembly coordination of metal sites and organic ligands, possessing a periodic network structure. Due to the uniform pore size with the capability of controlling selective transfer of substances as well as protecting active substances and the organic-inorganic parts providing reactive microenvironment, MOF-MNRs have attracted significant attention in cascade reactions in recent years. In this Perspective, we first discuss how to address compatibility issues in cascade reactions using MOF-MNRs, including structural design and synthetic strategies. Then we summarize the research progress on MOF-MNRs in various cascade reactions. Finally, we analyze the challenges facing MOF-MNRs and potential breakthrough directions and opportunities for the future.

Key Clinical Message: We report a young man with isolated elevated AST. He had no other evidence of liver or other related diseases. All the tests and examination reports were negative. The final diagnosis of macro-AST was confirmed by PEG precipitation tests. Abstract: Elevated liver enzymes, such as alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST), may commonly indicate liver injury. However, macro-AST is generally a benign condition that may be considered as pathologic by clinicians. A young man with isolated elevated AST for more than 10 years who have taken extensive tests and examinations was diagnosed with macro-AST in our article. Thus, in patients with isolated AST-elevation, polyethylene glycol (PEG) precipitation test was recommended to test whether macro-AST could be diagnosed.

Background: The termination of pregnancy in patients with placenta accreta spectrum disorder (PASD) during the second trimester remains uncertain. In addition, interventional radiology techniques, such as arterial embolization and balloon placement, are potential options. We evaluated the outcomes of pregnancy termination in patients with PASD during the second trimester and the effectiveness of preoperative interventional radiology techniques.Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 48 PASD patients who underwent pregnancy termination during the second trimester between January 2016 and May 2021.Results: Of the 48 patients, 20 (41.67%) underwent transvaginal termination, whereas 28 (58.33%) underwent cesarean section. Notably, no significant differences were observed in success rates between the transvaginal termination and cesarean section groups (80.00% vs. 92.86%, P = 0.38). Furthermore, no statistically significant differences were observed in the success rates (94.12% vs 90.32%, P = 1.00) and blood loss (512.35 ± 727.00 ml vs 804.00 ± 838.98 ml, P = 0.23) between the artery embolization and non-embolization groups. In the vaginal termination group, statistically significant differences were observed in gestational weeks (16.70 ± 3.12 vs 22.67 ± 3.63, P < 0.01) and blood loss (165.00 ± 274.43 ml vs 483.64 ± 333.53 ml, P = 0.04) between the (artery embolization and non-embolization) subgroups. Conversely, in the cesarean section group, no significant differences were observed in gestational weeks (23.59 ± 3.14 vs 23.20 ± 4.37, P = 0.79) and blood loss (811.11 ± 879.55 ml vs 989.47 ± 986.52 ml, P = 0.76) between the subgroups.Conclusions: Further studies are needed to evaluate the efficacy of vaginal termination in PASD patients during the second trimester. Regarding cesarean termination, arterial embolization did not demonstrate increased effectiveness.

Intrapersonal emotion dysregulation has been found to be a transdiagnostic predictor in the development of almost all affective disorders. Interpersonal resources are also involved in achieving people's emotion regulation goals. The Interpersonal Regulation Questionnaire (IRQ) has been developed to assess the tendency and efficacy of people using external resources to help manage their emotions. Under the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of interpersonal emotion regulation in individuals' adjustment and well-being remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the optimal factor structure of the IRQ in Chinese culture using an exploratory structural equation modeling approach and to examine the associations between interpersonal emotion regulation, tested by the IRQ, and young people's intrapersonal emotion dysregulation and social and emotional well-being. The sample consisted of 556 college students aged from 17 to 31 from Mainland China. Factor analyses suggested that the four-factor structure was the optimal model for the current data. Females reported a higher tendency to use external resources to regulate their negative emotions and higher efficacy in regulating negative emotions. The Chinese version of the IRQ (C-IRQ) presented adequate psychometric properties and would be a useful tool for measuring interpersonal emotion regulation behaviors.
